The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Tahoe!

According to our Eyes, APD's 5th floor is trying to at least appear to make amends with DETECTIVE Sergeant John Guilmette. No... they're not giving him back his job or a comparable one as required by federal law, but they are taking him out of the old broken down police cruiser they forced him to use instead one of the new Tahoes that his seniority should have earned him.

The Eyes have it that DETECTIVE Sergeant John Guilmette will be issued one of the new Tahoes tomorrow (Friday). Of course, if he had received a comparable job to the one he had before he left for Iraq, he wouldn't need one of the new Tahoes.

According to our Eyes, the move has not deterred Detective Sergeant Guilmette as he plans to move forward with the Tort claim. What this move does is give the 5th floor political cover. Look for the Chief or one of his spokespeople to claim that one of the new SUVs just became available. Who knows, it might even be true, but with their recent track record (number of officers on the street, tweaking the red light scam-era numbers, etc.) we tend to doubt it.

The damage has been done! DC Cowardlyhand has inserted his personal opinion (that of one with short man's disease) against someone he has had an issue with throughout his "short" career and is now in position to retaliate. DC Midget has violated federal laws and when this is over I hope the chief sends the violation to Santa Fe so Cowardlyhands state law enforcement credentials are rescinded for violating federal law. The chief has no problem with sending cases pertaining to other officers to the board (he lacks the balls to attempt to fire them himself because Marty's hand is so far up his ass)...that it should be done with an incompetent, law violating Deputy Chief. Opposition is brewing, the time for an organized upbringing is aroung the corner....Chief Puppet, Mayor never be a Governor, test us go ahead....Hell hath no fury like a Community Scorned!!!!!!!!!

Marty would corrupt the state as he has everything else!

If this makes you mad donate $50.00 to Denish. That will send a clear message!

an old trick but a good one, buying off trouble w/a new car. John had enough time to retire, he was convinced to come back and then got hosed when he did.... typical. three posters up, you are being a little rough on calloway but as someone who knows him i gotta say the short amn syndrome comments made me laugh. not for nothing "eye" but if you want to make an issue of money wasting ventures at APD point out that Trish Hoffman does her job for 20 bucks an hour like any cop and the other P,I,O, (Walsh) is on a civilian contract for $85000K per year because he was the guy who'd actually go to lunch with Schultz when he was a DCOP back in the day.

Anonymous said...

What a waste of taxpayer money. Trish Hoffman looks and sounds so much better. Why did they bring this guy back when she does 90% of the work. Oh,,,,I forgot he is
Chief Schultz's friend.

Again, he has also hired two others that are a waste. These other two retired DC's could not find jods anywhere else, so he hired them.

Where does Walsh live. Does he have a take home vehicle. How much gas does he u$e a month!!!!!!

two posters up -- why are you reading and commenting on this issue if you are so anti-cop? This is about a guy (Guillmette) who is as "COP" to the core as you can get. It makes no sense to defend him and be making snide comments about cops at the same time. Yes you are right that no one can be assumed to be telling the truth on the news, but you can't assume all cops are un-educated boobs

Anonymous said...

The sgt sounds like he is a great cop from the posting about him.

So why is your Chief and his staff trying to hosed this guy so bad. I even saw them defend their position on the news, no wonder why officer are slamming your chief!

Anonymous said...

Thats the point...nobody is trying to hose this guy....it's just a juicy story (Gossip) that is being twisted into a bunch of BS so a handful of morons and former (Fired) cops can use it to attack the Chief....

Anonymous said...

Then why is he suing the department if no one is trying to hose him? The court papers are not gossip. I don't think this sergeant is a moron. You should rethink what you are writing. This sergeant is a hero and from the court papers he appears to feel he has a valid complaint.

Now instead of calling people names do you think you can address this sergeants concerns in a professional way?

Anonymous said...

Why is he suing? Why do so many other people resort to suing? It's all about $$ & nothing more, don't kid yourself. I don't care if he "Feels" like he has a bitch. I feel that way too sometimes but you wont catch me suing my employer. Tell him to get back to work & if he doesn't like his job he should go find another. Waaaah, grow up.

Anonymous said...

You're all a bunch of pussies...Go get a real job & quit ur bitchin...

Anonymous said...

Whether you would sue an employer or not doesn't matter. He has that right and if he opts to use it that is fine. Once again instead of circling the wagons, the 5th floor should be asking if something they have done is violating this sergeants rights.

I can't believe all the holier than thou people out here. You know as well as I do that if you felt greatly wronged you would do what the law allows to remedy. No one believes your BS.

This site makes me sick! If the comments are made from an actual Policeman/woman; I am sickened. Where is the respect, tradition, honor and integrity? Most of the comments are not even written at a 1st grade level! If this is the level of education and intelligence available to recruit from, I clearly understand why the 5th floor is not hiring! It is a shame to those of us who gave our lives to serve the public and serve them completely and selflessly, that such whiny, immature babies are currently wearing a badge and (scarey) carrying a gun.
It used to be that you rookies (I say rookies, because no one with any time and experience would be acting like you) knew your place, to work hard to obtain respect and put in some time to gain experience; now you just know how to whine and criticize! Grow up!
It used to be an honor to work with other policeman, I pity the good honest, hardworking rookies/policeman currently. If you are a policeman; don't you have more things to do than sit in front of a computer? Like: taking calls, patrolling the city, arresting the "bad guys"? Where do you get all this time to write on a blog? We used to have to work for a living instead of criticize and whine to get what we wanted without any effort. It appears that the majority of the blog is wimpy, unintelligent, whiny little kids. Grow up, develop some courage, grab some intelligence and maybe someday you can become what is the norm for a policeman/woman.

Anonymous said...

Where do you find your time to write on this blog? You have a great case of I AM HOLIER THAN THOU disease. You need to grow up and respect other peoples rights to their opinions. Oh my gosh did I say that, that police have a right to voice their own opinion. I mean that is what we as police officers swore to uphold, isn't it? It is wrong to tell officers with complaints to shut up and suck it up like a man. What is management afraid of from these critics? I say shine the light of day on all of it. The bull shit complaints will be shown just as clearly as the real complaints. No one should fear or try to stop free speech, EVER!

Shame on you if you are a police officer for not extending constitutional rights to all officers.

And back to the original topic. This sergeant feels he has been wronged. Let it be investigated and if changes need to be made then make them. If no changes need to be made then his issue can be put to rest. But don't ever tell him he cannot question his treatment and ask other authorities to intervene.

Anonymous said...

I have known SGT Guilmette for a very, very, long time. If you know him, you know he is a COP, through and through. You know that he takes no bullshit from anyone, and will defend his position to the end. If he feels he was wronged he will make it right. I think most would rather see him file suit than go up to the "5th" floor and clean the whole damn place out(read that as you will). Sounds like there is a lot of animosity on the APD (yes, I am not a part of this city government or even an employee). What would your job be like if more of you had the balls to stand up for what is right and not bury your heads in the sand hoping some one else will make the first step.

Anonymous said...

Three posters up,,,I am not an APD Officer, but it sounds as if you are a management employee who just is sucking up to the system...You need to get a set of balls and learn to take care of your troops. From what I have heard your depts morale sucks and this blog cleary shows that fact!!!!!

Rather than hammer your officer's for venting, why don't you try to improve the working condition!!!!

It seems you too also spend quite a bit of time typing on this blog.....I'll bet before you where on the 5th floor you were one of the biggest bitchers!!!! However, now you are fat and happy making the rules and frown at anyone that does not share your opinion.
That seems to be the major problem with this APD administration!

As I read in another blog. Chief Schultz and his team need to take a lesson from Sheriff White and his staff. They know how to treat their employees.

Respect others rights bonehead!!! maybe your morale might improve. I'll bet you're a short little person with a complex that was picked on in school and became a cop to try to get people to respect you!

Interestingly enough I found a story from NY today where a police DOG got a heart surgery and a human pace maker installed so he could return to duty. By comparison a 19 year veteran Sgt can't get his old job back or a decent vehicle to drive without having to bitch and sue. Lesson learned? Its better to be a police dog in NY than be a cop in Albuquerque?
As to these other negative posters who comment about how dumb cops are here, let me just say that when I came on the Dept. back in the 80s I had a degree and I later got another, about 50% of us back then did have undergrad degrees and that figure keeps geetting higher. By comparison, back then the Dem. Lt. Governor did not even have a GED. I remember how funny it was for the recruiters to make a big deal about having college considering that. Yes, over the years I saw some total mouth breathers, idiots and lame & lazy cops, but they were in the minority. Now that I am retired I work alone in a small business and I make real money, I also don't have people telling me idiotic things and then falling back on the old "We are held to a higher standard" excuse everytime a cop tries to exert his/her rights.

Something that people do understand is that the Chief/DCs/Mayor/5th/11th are continually violating Federal Labor Laws, Officer Rights, and the very Contract that they sign. When they are called on it the immediate response is "too bad" and "we'll see you in court". They are currently in the practice of hiring lateral officers and rehire officers at inflated pay rates and promising positions that our direct and blatant violations of the contract. When the Blue Heads are called on their violations the response is "tough luck, they are probationary employees for the first year and we can pay them whatever we choose to". Within the next year there will most likely be an onslaught of Prohibited Practice Complaints filed against the City as all of these officers leave their probationary period and fall under the Contract which the 5th Floor chose to violate. None of us can fault the officers for taking the better pay, but there will be a disgusting waste of city monies. The real issue is that the 5th Floor and 11th Floor will not play by the rules unless they are forced to by the court system.

Anonymous said...

You are right with almost everything. I do fault the rehired and lateral officers for coming back, knowing they are screwing their fellow officers, for their own personal gain. We are all either brothers in blue or we are green with greed.

The rehires pay scale and their being placed in desk job positions is such a dividing factor that I still cannot believe Schultz is not fixing it. All the chief has to do is decide that all officers should be treated FAIRLY and EQUALLY. He could fix this issue overnight, but I guess he either doesn't realize that or doesn't care.

Anonymous said...

Chief Schultz just does not care about the officers...He seems to get pleasure out of mistreating his officers. It thinks it's funny when they fight with each other.

It's to bad that vote of no confidence did not go through, maybe he might have taken his officers complaints to heart then!

What does he care. He is making over $130,000.00 plus and his DC's are at $102,000.00 a year. They are set and that's all that matters to them.

The previous poster Joe S. was correct. You have a great Sgt who served his Country and they won't give him his old job or a similar job back or a new Tahoe that every other sgt received! Come on 5th floor staff, I didn't see any of you go to the Middle East.

What kind of B.S. is that Chief Schultz! when are you going to start taking care of your people.

Like another poster stated, take a lesson from Sherrif White!

What a bunch of whinners, if it wasnt for the rehires APD would be in trouble. Most of you whinners should be kissing their ass for coming back to the grind. By the way I am not a rehire, but back in the old days, we just did not see this kind of bullshit going on. Back then there was loyalty, brotherhood and trust.

Now it seems more like greed, backstabbing, cowardice and self interest. Pehaps you are right, we have lowered our standards in APD.

SHAMEFUL!!!

What a wonderful post just above. I agree, shame on all of you! You are a disgrace to your badge. I say welcome the Sgts lawsuit, let it go to trial....but if he loses,,,he must pay the city's legal costs. Pony up there Sgt, if its not about the $$ make the offer to the 5th floor. I'll bet they take you up on it, cause your case is bs & you know it!

Anonymous said...

This is a reflection of top management. Anyone that knows anything about running a business would know this. Employees start reflecting managements actions!

Anonymous said...

3 posts up. The retired rehires would be fine with us if we were paid the same amount they are. If we got the inside positions that they were given (even though this violates the contract) Pull you head out of your ass and figure out that they are being paid better and given inside jobs. All I am saying is fix this by treating all officers equally and everything would be fine. And by the way, I don't need to kiss anyone retired rehired ass. I don't owe them crap.

Anonymous said...

To put it blunt, you have not earned your time to demand things given to you. When you do 20 plus years and want to come back for the SAME pay when you left, you too may.

Now if you could do more work and less bitching perhaps we can reduce crime a little.

Anonymous said...

Most of the retired guys are riding desks. I have earned the right to say whatever I please. The retired guys in the field have my respect, the ones kissing Schultz's ass to safely ride a desk don't mean crap to me. Get them out from behind desks and pay us all equally.

Anonymous said...

Do your time rookie then you can walk a beat in my shoes. Until then, shut the hell up & get out there & take some calls for service.

Anonymous said...

I take calls, you think just because you were here and did 20 years that we owe you something. Well here is a news flash, we owe you nothing. It would be nice if the retired guys would show solidarity with us younger officers, but very few of you do. Retired officers such as you care nothing for your brothers in blue, you only care to pad your own paycheck.

I just don't know why so many retired rehires thing we owe them anything. Most of you guys were bad or marginal officers when you were here. In fact most of you guys bitched about this place so much we were glad you left. The phrase Good riddance will be applied again when you get a life and get out of APD.

Anonymous said...

You mean bitching like you Rookie? I've got socks older than you. i've forgotten more about police work that you are capable of ever learning. All of your whinning just confirms for us that you are young, stupid and just jealous. Sorry son, green is not a good color on you, so just get over it & go learn something from your elders. What you learn from one of us may just someday save your life.

Anonymous said...

Sounds a lot like Badway bad-mouthing the rehires again, but rehires don't need to worry, if he wasn't putting down the rehires, he would be bitching about something else.

The department doesn't divide the troops, attitude like his do! Show some respect and integrity for once in your life!

Although I agree that rehires should go to the field, attacking fellow officers is the ultimate disgrace.

Anonymous said...

I agree, this dept has enough problems from Chief Schultz and his henchmen. The officers need to stick togeather. Then Union must step forward and not be affaid to challenge Schultz and the Mayor! The last Union President Lawrence Torres sold APD down the river! The Uion must protect the officers that pay dues and expect some union support.....

Union,,, get off the 5th floor and get out there and get us a raise. Ouit lying in bed with the 5th floor.(not all of you) the guilty know who they are and what they provide to the 5th fl. I am told you even tell them who shows and says what at the Union meetings...Not cool!! Please don't do that. Very eithically wrong.

There has not been a raise since 2000 under Mayor Baca.

Anonymous said...

All you retired rehires do is pat yourself on the back. The retired guys in the field have solidarity with younger officers, but the ones who scammed their way back into desk jobs because of their connections with APD command staff have no honor.

I appreciate the guys in the field. Not the others.

Anonymous said...

I know of some retired rehires who in their first 20 years were disciplined for pyramid schemes, excessive force, lying to IA, etc etc. I can't believe some of the people we have hired back.

It really does a disservice to the good rehires when Schultz hires back anybody.

Anonymous said...

This is what he said about ALL the rehires in above posts:

"You are right with almost everything. I do fault the rehired and lateral officers for coming back, knowing they are screwing their fellow officers, for their own personal gain.

And by the way, I don't need to kiss anyone retired rehired ass. I don't owe them crap.

It would be nice if the retired guys would show solidarity with us younger officers, but very few of you do.

I just don't know why so many retired rehires thing we owe them anything. Most of you guys were bad or marginal officers when you were here."

Now he says that he only has a beef with the inside rehires not rehires working the field.
Why a change of heart?

Perhaps he is afraid one of this guys is going to eventually slap the snot of his face for talking so much shit.

Anonymous said...

The guys that come on and work the field are a blessing. Without htese guys there would not be enough officers to assist in the field and take calls foe service.

However, when the chief places his friends in inside positions, that a crock of shit. The lastest was
DC Johnston, he was a joke when he was here. Now the chief has him working the NRA stuff. Last year when the DC was doing the exact same thing they made Lt Parkins come and help him out. Well, Lt Parkins did everything and the DC didn't do a dam thing. Now the chief has given it to the DC again. Lets see how long it takes before they pull another person from the field to go help this incompetent DC out!

I'll bet he would quit if they made him go to the field and take calls for service.

Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy, but he is lazy as they come.

I guess the chief is just giving him payback, as he allowed the chief to live with him when he first came back as chief. That's why he was not fired.

Anonymous said...

two posts up. Hey mister I am a retired rehire so the world owes me for all the problems I have. I made the first posts but not the last one. No wonder you are back at APD no other place would hire you when all your YEARS of police experience cause you to add two plus two and get 20. I stand by my original comments.

Funny how you don't have any actual answers for the concerns I bring up. All you say is OH HOW GREAT US RETIRED REHIRES ARE AND HOW YOU YOUNG GUYS SHOULD KISS OUR ASSES FOR BEING BACK. Now to try to keep you on topic, do you think it is fair for you guys to make $21 an hour while I am making $19?

Anonymous said...

Huh?????????????
You really expect us to believe you are a rehire?

The post is comical and just proves how much of an idiot you are!

Anonymous said...

You are a fool. OK let me try to use little words for you because apparently your 20 years was just the same year over and over.

"Hey mister I am a retired rehire so the world owes me for all the problems I have." (this is a cynical comment referring to how you sound to everyone else reading this blog, is that clear or do I need to draw pictures?)

Now that you hopefully understand how about you answer the question. Is it fair that some APD officers get paid $19 while the rehires get paid $21? Is is fair that if you are a rehire and a friend of Schultz you get inside positions, in violation of Schultz's agreement? Is the handing out of these inside positions fair to non retired officers and to rehires who are not friends of Schultz?

Those my 20 year over and over educated friend are the issues. If all APD officers were paid the same and if Schultz would stick to the agreement there would be no issue. Would you agree with this?

Anonymous said...

I am laughing my balls off. I am not a rehire but think what you want, the same way you blame all the troubles on the rehires.

Ok brains for shit, here it is again. You are not at the same level as a 20 year officer, when you retire and grow a little more hair, perhaps you can come back and be one of them. For now, take calls, get some experience, learn to respect those who have paved the road for your sorry ass and stop the whinning. Stop making this fine department look bad.

Anonymous said...

here, here listen to the mossbacks little rookie. Like I said before, what you learn from them may someday save your life or the life of someone else. Walk a mile in their beat, when cops were real cops before you rush to judge. Back when I was on the job, we weren't worried about who the mayor was or how much we made. We did the job because we loved it. Many have come back because they still do. You could take a lesson from them.

Shit, I can't beleve how far this has gone away fom the issue at hand here. Am I to believe that if any one of you had been put in the same position as Guilmette that you would just ignore it or look for a new job! Idiots, if you do what you have always done than you will get what you always got...fucked! You should have determined by now that in life, not just APD, but life in general, you have to take care of yourself. Now, I am not talking about screwing over anybody for personal gain, nor am I talking about being an ass kisser or brown noser or whatever you want to call it. I'm talking about being man (woman) enough to fight for what you believe in, to grab what is rightfully yours and to protect it. Isn't that what our country is all about? So, the way I see it, you can come to work with your pants around your knees so you can get butt-fucked across the parking lot until your knees bleed or you can man up, attend union meetings, present yourselves as a unified group of professionals who are dedicated and loyal to the public you protect and serve and see if you can make a difference when election day comes around. The choice is yours, just remember the real issues, not the percieved ones. OK, I am done...

There are always going to be the dead wood that have to be dragged along by the good employees, it's human nature. If you don't like your boss, so what. The city is not paying you to make friends, you're being paid to do a job! I suggest you grow a thicker skin, get off the porch where the big dogs are and get back to work.

Anonymous said...

WWwwaaaa, I didn't get a new car. I think I'll sue...unbelievable & you guys are supposed to be Albuquerque's Finest? Geeperz, I fear for my family's safety with cops like that running around.

Anonymous said...

OK Pollyanna, and the rest of you studs, do you think the issue is just about a vehicle? Do you think about maybe your retirement and health benefits may some day be eroded. How about taking a call in the southeast area command and WISHING you had someone to back you up? Yeah, on the surface some may think the isue is a car, some don't. I can tell you this though, if you needed a cop at your house in a hurry and he couldn't make it for some mechanical reason I bet YOU would want to sue someone. Why do you suppose the city buys new vehicles? Two reasons, one of which you don't care about is the officers safety, the other is the ability of a timely and efficient RESPONSE for the citizens. Go ahead, bury your heads in the sand and keep that ass up for every one to do as they please!

Anonymous said...

The City of Albuquerque has nothing to do with your Retirement benefits or your Retirement Health Care Benefits. Both are regulated by the State Legislature...Nice try but I'm not buying it. If I needed a cop and he couldn't get there soon enough I wouldn't be suing anyone. Bottom line is shit happens. If the officers stayed in their beats & efficiently took care of the calls for service I believe they could have a timely RESPONSE driving a 1978 Dodge Monaco with 100,000 miles, I DID !

Anonymous said...

Oh and by the way Rookie, in the SE or anywhere in the city, if you don't have back up you are supposed to do what your SOP says....Wait for your 82. How's that for solving your officer safety issue?

Anonymous said...

hey, Calloway, you still got that chink girlfriend down at the asian place on San Pedro. What kind of of car do you drive? Let's come clean here. Do what's right, people are watching and waiting for you to mess up some more. Is this how you got through life? Amazing!

Anonymous said...

So much for the Sgts claim on a new car and the officer safety issues. Back to the O'l childish backstabbing ways of the deadwood. Calling people chinks, you are a disgrace to your badge. Don't forget, karma has a way of catching up to you! I wonder how you will get through life? I think you need to check yourself in the mirror.

Anonymous said...

Someone is watching all of us. I hope you are ALWAYS doing the right thing. I bet someone is waiting to catch you messing up. Lets hope it's just one of your malcontent buddies and not some hype with a .45.... When your own summons comes, lets hope your Judge is a bit more forgiving than you.

Anonymous said...

yep, shit does happen, just wait until shit happens to you, tell me then how shit happens. OK, if you don't think your benefits can be eroded, talk to the guys in the military who thought they would get good medical benefits after 20 years, or a good retirement for that matter.State Leg is nice, but you forget, they too are elected and can change. As for the Dodge Monaco wih 100,000 miles, good for you, you are a good one, you probably deserved more and I bet some one, somewhere, had a newer, safer car that didn't really need it. That is part of the issue here. A word on SOPs, it is a set of operating procedure that are used for standardization. I don't think it takes into accout the manning shortage/recruiting problem that is going on within the APD. In a perfect world, yes, you wait for your 82, and I hope that all officers wait (as the SOP says) but if (if, big word) while you wait and wait and no 82, then what? I guess that is when the vet (I use that affectionately, trust me) in the Monaco comes because the other fuckers are not responding. Also, safety goes way beyond the 82 issue, I mean this fair city has surely seen it's share of car accidents. At least everyone has to agree with me on that! And one other word, why do you think that comment about Calloway was from a policeman? Tell me about biases? For all you know it could be a computer geek out in some little town in some state just geeking away to get every one riled up. Maybe it is YOU. Talk about judgement day, tell me every one of you is perfect. I know I am not, but just blatantly blaming a cop? How many city employees are there in this city? You think one of them could have witnessed anything? Remember, this IS the Eye, a BLOG.....for shit sake.

Anonymous said...

A computer geek? You are not that naieve are you? I'll bet tomorrows PERA check that it is a cop. Probably a cop with an IA record to match his poor karma. That's where that garbage comes from, poor work ethics. As far as your beni's go, you're not in the military, O'l W doesn't control PERA or NMRHCA. Quit focusing on the negative, you will never get anywhere in life. Enjoy your job, if you are a 34 you have a great job. If you can't get past the negatives in this position move up the chain or get out & go do something else.

Man if everyone who is unhappy should just up and quit like the poster above suggest. That leaves me with the impression that your the LONE RANGER, Billy Bad ASS, and Rambo all wrapped up in one! You will take care of the city, you and the other Lone Rangers.

Anonymous said...

Whatever, with age comes wisdom. I don't expect you to understand that yet. Hopefully grasshopper, someday you will though. In the meantime yes, if you hate your job that bad then you do need to quit! The city and the citizens will be much better of without you because if you are really that unhappy your work performance will be just as bad. There will always be someone to replace you when you leave. I was hearing this same crap about #'s on the FSB bid list and calls for service when I was on the job 25 years ago and we had 300 cops & one station, the main, the old main. Go to work & do your job! The taxpayers expect you to do nothing less. And if the deadwood milking the 44's or sitting on the coffee shops writing the 42's don't answer your call for 82 then you are long overdue for a squad party behind the sub to teach them the proper way to cover each other...

Anonymous said...

A simple question...has anyone thought to ask the sergeant his side, the real side of the story? I bet not. Maybe no one out there has the balls to ask. Or maybe his side of the story will just raise more questions than are really needed to resolve this issue. What was that issue again...

Anonymous said...

Did you say 1 station, 300 officers, and 25 years ago? Ooooh great! I'm no cop but JEEZUS how old are you and is it safe for you to even be answering my "Calls for Service" . Oh just a reminder "POPS" the City has a ZERO TOLERANCE on workplace violence. I don't think that is excepted method of workplace mediation.

Hey Calloway, nice job supporting the troops. Instead of thanking Sgt. Guilmette and shaking his hand for providing the freedom you enjoy with your girl, you give him a jar of personal lubricant and tell him to bend over. What you ought to do everytime you see Sgt. Guilmette is stand, salute him, and sing "God Bless America".
According to the news report, you assigned him to patrol because it was a critical position that had to be filled; however, that same position stayed vacant for about six months. If you had the balls to go defend your country would your position be held for you until you got back? I bet it would. I would tend to think the DC positin is critical and should be filled as soon as you shipped out.
To the person who wrote the post on July 29 about the complaining about not getting a vehicle: that is not the issue. The issue is that Sgt. Guilmette was not given his job back after returning from Iraq. I think most of you that are opposed to this tort never served or fought for your country. Brother Woodrow, I am finished, for now.....

Anonymous said...

You keep refering to him as Sgt Guilmette? Sounds like he still has his job. He left as a Sgt and was given a Sgt's position when he returned? So where's the harm? Was his pay reduced? Did he lose senority? I think if someone could answer those questions we would all be able to decide for ourselves whether or not he was treated fairly....Can someone answer those questions for me?

Anonymous said...

You are my ass...and I bet I can still wipe the floor with you Rookie !

Anonymous said...

I notice that nobody including MB, I mean the "Eye" or even Sgt Guilmette could answer my questions. That would ruin everyones fun & let the truth out. The City did not hurt this guy. this was all a hoax posted on this rag to stir people up....

I think if you look back at the title of this particular blog: it is called TAHOE ! Duh, so apparently it is about a vehicle!!!

Anonymous said...

hey puddin heads,it may be about a vehicle, but also a position that was held by SGT Guilmette before he left. It is obvious that most of you dick weeds don't know two shits about the law and returning vets. Read, review and then make a decision of what the issue is and how the law applies to this case. I am sure that most of you APD officers are smart enough to interpret the laws. Try it, see.

Anonymous said...

I did dick wad, lets see how this goes:
1)He had a Sgt job when he left
2)He returned to a Sgt job when he got back
3)He lost no pay while gone
4)He got raises like all the other Sgts while he was gone
5)He kept his bid slot
6)He kept his senority
7)He was given a vehicle when he returned
8)He received contributions from the City to his pension fund while gone
9)He & his family was afforded his medical insurance provided by the City while he was gone.....

Do I need to go on further? Does this sound like some poor mistreated employee to you? If you don't believe me check it out for yourself. All of the Sgts pay & benefits are public record as he is a public employee. Don't take my word for it, call the City & see for yourself...Dick Weed

The truth hurts dosen't it.....

Anonymous said...

The city doesn't contribute to the pension fund unless you are being paid. The PERA Board, through action by the legislature, gives PERA members their credit for time served in the active duty military during time of war.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, yeah the truth hurts. The city will look like the retards they are ONCE again in court like they almost always do. Just like the RUMBLE IN THE RIO, just like when Marty fired a city attorney when he came to office the first time (she wiped her ass with him in court) just like the T. Pino case, the Regensburg case. They thought they were in the right in those cases too. The ass kicking is coming. I guess you forgot about those huh? Here is another HUGE one THE RED LIGHT SCAMERAS it's only a matter of time douche bag. So let's hear your bullshit responce now.

Anonymous said...

This case will never see the inside of a court room? Says who? Yeah your right the city will probably move to mediate and the Sgt. will get everything he is asking for. That means the City lost. Mediate, Mediate, Mediate.

Anonymous said...

two posts up. Listen moron, when you go on military leave and you no longer get a check from the city the city doesn't contribute to your PERA account. Now some officers who go on active duty continue getting a paycheck because they are burning comp and vacation while on active duty, therefore the city is still paying them.

PERA, through an act by the state legislature will credit any officer who goes on active duty, the time they spent on active duty, but only during time of war. The city has nothing to do with this, PERA is a state organization and ruled by the legislature. This was agreed upon by the legislature and governor.

Don't try to talk about stuff that your little mind doesn't understand.

Hey Stupid Stupid, if the city contributes then why does is there a state law that gives employees on active duty in time of war this time credited? If the city contributes then the returning veteran would not have to file the correct forms with PERA, the PERA Board would not have to meet to formally give the veteran this time credited.

Here is the form and instructions directly from the PERA website:

Affidavit for Free Military Service - To be used by a members called to active military service while actively employed by a PERA affiliated-employer to certify the dates of employment and military service.

http://www.pera.state.nm.us/forms/AffidavitFreeMilitary.pdf

Here is a copy of the July 2007 PERA Board meeting where the fifth thing on the agenda is for them to approve the Affadavit for Free Military Service from two returning veterans.

5.
Affidavits for Free Military Service:
a.
Randolph Velarde – 1 year and 1 month
b.
Carl Patty – 1 year and 2 months

So Stupid Stupid quit spouting ignorance.

Fuck PERA. I hope The Gov. taps into it to fund some bullshit social program with a promise of a payback. Baby needs a new pair of shoes.

From the looks of your ranting & foam about the mouth, it would appear that you spent waaaay toooo much time on active duty yourself. I fear you have a bad case of PTSD. I'm so very glad that the city funds your pera while you are on leave with the military. It would appear that you need all of the credits you can get & retire soon I hope. Good Luck !

Anonymous said...

I am proud to have served. Because of the service of vets and public safety officers you have the opportunity to be as stupid as you want and not get taken out and shot. Thank a vet for you freedom, thank a cop for your safety.

Anonymous said...

Constitutional amendment 4 protects the fund from being raided by public officials. And once again, while on active duty in time of war it is the state legislature who gives us our time, not the city. Please read 4 posts up.

I'll thank a firefighter for my safety not a cop. I dial 911 and they are hear in a matter minutes no matter what the problem is, APD well that is a whole story in itself. So let's hear the "don't call us when your house is broken into or a gun is pulled on you." Aaaagh both of those things did happen to me and it took over an hour and a half to get a response. Save it. I'll chalk it up to homeowners insurance and buy my own gun and get a conceal carry. It seems to me it's all about 20 year retirement, and make as much money as possible with as little education and fuck the public. APD will always FEAR PANDER to the public when it comes down to contracts, and asking us for more money.

Anonymous said...

They have a great retirement 20 years service & can pull the plug. That's why I'm so proud of my City Govt. They even fund the officers retirement while away at war! Wow ! I couldn't get my employer to do that...Thanks Mayor Chavez

Mayor Chavez did the 20 year retirement? You are a fool. Don't you know how to read? They posted over and over it is the state legislature you hate filled idiot that does the 20 year and pays for the retirement while gone to war.

By the way, before you slam those who serve so you can be safe why don't you grow a set of balls and do it yourself. It is real easy to sit here in America and slam those who protect you, I would like to see your cowardly ass in Iraq. People like you make me sick. COWARD!

Anonymous said...

YOUR A COWARD! A real Iraq war vet would never say what you have said about APD officers who are war vets. COWARD COWARD COWARD!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, you were in Iraq.....AS A COOK! Some battle hardened warrior you are. I did my time serving, serving right here in Albuquerque wearing the APD uniform. Quit beating your chest, you did your job. The job you were paid to do. I appreciate our soldiers service in this effort just as I appreciate our Officers daily service, no different. So before you call anyone a coward learn your facts. Once again, I am happy that the City supports our soldiers with contributions to their health care AND PERA while they are away from their jobs. I am proud of my city and our Mayor for his support of the Officers and their 20 year retirement plan..

Me three, You have my vote for Gov.

Anonymous said...

The mayor has nothing to do with it, although in a way he does. I believe he was in the legislature and voted for this back in 1991. This law was enacted for Desert Storm. So I would say thank every legislator back in 1991 who voted for this. Was Marty in the legislature then? I think he was but am not sure. I think Bruce King was the governor who signed it. What a great governor he was.

Anonymous said...

Marty served in the NM senate from 1989 to 1993 so I am pretty sure he voted to give PERA members their credit during time of war.

I don't know if he would take credit for anything regarding this as mayor, as the legislature is who runs the retirement. Regardless everyone one of those legislators did the right thing.

Thanks to all our vets! Thanks to all our cops! To the rest of you whining about their benefits, through their sacrifice you are allowed to whine.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, we all finally agree. Thanks to you all for a good spirited debate. A debate with facts not fear mongering & gossip. Thanks to all who contributed to the law & ordinance and resolution including our Mayor.

Anonymous said...

FUCK MAYOR CHAVEZ! I am not drinking the Kool-Aid .......!

Anonymous said...

ummm actually if you took 17% of your pretax pay and put it in a mutual fund anyone could have a 20 year retirement... want to see a real retirement package look at BCSO who did the same package while only deducting 5% of the officer's pay. That said, I know it would be hard to make yourself take that money and bank it every 2 weeks, but you could do it... or you could set up a 401 that did it for you. There is no doubt that its a good retirement package, but like take home cars, it is something that they trot out everytime you are supposed to get a raise. I was one of the guys who was promised -in writing- a 4% "step" increase every year when I signed on... guess what, the steps got frozen 3 times in that first 8 years. Marty aint the only enemy of the cops and firefighters, the bean counters hurt you more than Marty's policies ever could. They pander to you because they assume you are stupid... it is that simple. Public safety in this town is generally looked down on by a huge segment of the population that thinks they are smarter or better, and the rest are the dropouts and manual labor types who are jealous because you have more for what they percieve is less labor than they. You/we, active or retired have only each other to fall back on and its embarassing to read how much you guys are eating your own here instead of turning that anger out on the folks who deserve it.

The Mayor Lost in court again. Him and his administration have not been following FLSA guidlines when paying POLICE/FIRE overtime, and holidays. Good luck in that run for Gov. Marty, hardly anybody likes a lawyer includeing one that lies to his Officers and Firefighters.

Anonymous said...

Let me get this straight. Marty/Bakas tried to trample The Civil Rights of offduty Police/Firefighters with threats of termination and or discipline if they participated in the Ruble In The Rio. Wich the City lost in court. Now Marty and His administration have been going against Union contracts, FLSA guidlines and another court has said as much? Why does any PUBLIC SAFETY UNION endorse this guy at all? He sounds like he is Police/Fire unions worst enemy.

Remember the Lunch Hour Lawsuit? All we got was $517 after all those years. Lawyers promised us the world, the lawyers made a lot of money, we didn't. I am sure no matter what happens there will be one person who makes a good sum of money, Bregman.

Anonymous said...

Who gives a fuck about how little money one guy is gonna get or how much the lawyer will get. That is not the Point. The point is there is an election coming up and I think we will all be reminded of these MILLIONS just like EX MAYOR Baca was reminded when he lost to Pat Lyons. Remember the commercials "Baca cost the City Tax payers Millions when he lost a civil lawsuit". Aaaagh it don't matter Marty will get over it, but He won't forget that's for sure.

Anonymous said...

Bregman broke it OFF in the Mayors ASS ...........! Beat him like a rented Mule.

Chances are it will be hiding rather than gloating. Besides that, the election is 3 years away & voters have short memories. I'm sure he is not worried, & neither am I for that matter....

Hey Fuck stick what do you mean the voters have short memories....? That is what commercials are for just ask Ex Mayor Baca about his reminder of his lost Civil Lawsuit that cost the city millions. You will get over it.

Anonymous said...

The city has not paid out a dime on this. There are many more appeals ahead of this courts decision. Many more courts & appeals ='s many years down the road. In all likelyhood more than 3 years which is just long enough to take the Gov's Mansion.....So in short...You'll have to just get over it.

Anonymous said...

This administration does not treat military veterans fairly. What they have done to John is just another example of how this Chief shames returning veterans. I know of two APD officers, who were activated and served in Iraq during the current war. One is a Marine and the other is Army. Both of these officers know how to lead, did their time with APD, had no blemishes on their records and retired with honor. Both of these officers attempted to return to APD through the retiree rehire program. Both made it all the way to Chief's selection, at which time both of them were dismissed by Chief Schultz. When asked why? Schultz would only reply that it was confidential. This is a shame. This chief doesn't like veterans. Maybe it is because they hurt his staffing when they get activated to serve. It is shameful that Schultz will not hire retired APD officers who are vets, but he gleefully hires NMSP officers who were about to be terminated, prior APD officers who fled the department before they were terminated, and some retired APD guys that were lazy and had bad attitudes and very long Internal Affairs records their first time around, but yet here they are.

I wish the DOJ would start an investigation into why retired APD officers who are military veterans, can't get hired by APD. I am concerned that APD is discriminating against military vets.

Anonymous said...

What a bunch of BS. Post the two officers names and let the troops decide if the Chief was correct. Just because you are a vet dosen't mean you are good rehire material. Just take a look at the many homeless vets around town, should we offer them jobs because they were in the military? I think not...

Anonymous said...

Hey bonehead. These vets were retired APD officers! They weren't homeless, they were our fellow officers. And I will not post their names because it does not matter what the TROOPS think. These guys, just like Guilmette, are great officers and the only thing they had going against them is they were activated to serve their country. They hurt manning levels.

Looking at some of the rehires I wonder what is the criteria for good rehire material. Most were good officers, but some of them really make you wonder why.

Hey but that's ok you back up your chief, he has you working side by side with officers that were being fired by other departments in the state. Was the Chief correct about that?

Anonymous said...

Oh well, until there is proof of some type of misconduct on the part of the Chiefs selection, I agree with the Chief. I also stand by my earlier statement, just because your a vet dosen't give you a pass on the rules. In closing, I know many retired APDers whom I would not hire to mow my lawn.
Signed,
Bonehead

Anonymous said...

Would you hire the current batch of laterals to mow your lawn? APD is hiring and rehiring out of the bottom of the barrel.

Anonymous said...

If those laterals are posting some of the trash on this rag the answer would be NO. I would not let them mow my lawn....

Anonymous said...

The consensus of this blog represents a minority of the true feelings of APD; the representation is obviously of a very small, unintelligent portion of APD's staff. I am ashamed that soemone might read this blog and interpret that this nonsense is possibly even partly true. I am ashamed of this blog and its participators. I would say that everyone participating regularly should seek professional assistance. What's is even more frightening is that such unintelligent, ill informed morons possibly carry a gun and make professional decisions on the job....... I don't know why good, intelligent, professional cops put up with the likes of you people at this site. You are a terrible impression for the public to perceive as police professionals.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't agree more. It's a sad day when the general public begins to paint an entire group of good people with the same brush used to cover a few bad apples. I'm so very glad I put in my time and retired. I would be embarrassed to be associated with these people, even by uniform.
