Scam-era Illegals

Commissioner Michael Brasher has decided to find out exactly how many illegals we've got running red lights at scam-era intersections. Citing the KVOA story that we told you about here, the Bernalillo County Commissioner has written a letter to City Attorney Bob White requesting information about the City of Albuquerque's procedures for handling scam-era citations issued to vehicles from foreign countries.

Re: Photo Ticket Program

Dear Mr. White:

I am writing to inquire about the City of Albuquerque’s process and procedure for handling citations issued to a vehicle with a license plate from a foreign country. In particular, please advise of the number of citations that have been issued, through the Photo Ticket Program, for vehicles bearing a license plate from a foreign country. I would also like to know how many of these citations have been paid. With respect to those citations that were not paid, please advise of the steps that the City of Albuquerque has taken to attempt to collect the fines for the citations.

I appreciate your prompt attention to this request.

Sincerely,

Michael Brasher

As you can see the letter asks some interesting questions. From our perspective the most interesting item will be to see how many "undocumented" vehicles are prowling our streets. We don't expect that the city even has a plan to collect on the scam-era citations. After all if APD won't notify ICE when a suspected illegal is nabbed by a police officer, why should we expect the city to try and collect on "undocumented" scam-era fines?

Oh, this REALLY, REALLY SUCKS!!!
Here we are trying to drive these streets trying to make a living, trying to be upstanding citizens, paying our fair share in taxes, paying for an honest red light mistake($) and these illegal pricks(friends of Marty, I mean votes for Marty) are out aimlessly roaming around the streets, pushing drugs and not having to worry about the red light cameras or even getting stopped for suspicious behavior.
This form of F_ _ king "Patron" politics needs to go. Let's catch up to the rest of the surrounding states and get these illegal assholes out of here.
I FOR ONE AM WILLING TO PAY MORE FOR TOMATOES AND LETTUCE OR WHAT EVER THE f_ _ K ELSE NEEDS TO BE PICKED OUT OF THE GROUND.
Screw this.

I can top it, a buddy of mine had a relative who is a citizen of another country borrow his car while visiting here. The guy got a red light scamera ticket and my buddy got the bill. He went to the hearing and gave the hearing officer the guys name, address, phone contact numbers and business card... and told the hearing officer that the guy would pay as soon as the city sent him the bill. The hearing officer made the citizen/car owner pay and since it cost about $20 more to file the District court appeal than the ticket costs .. he paid it. What a Freaking scam -- and yes he (and I) are retired APD officers with more experience than the hearing officer.

Your buddies friend from another country probably borrowed his car because he couldn't bring his car, if he had one, all the way to Albuquerque. Come on, people. How many cars do you see on the streets with Mexican plates? Uh...not too many!

As for having to pay the ticket, it would have happened exactly the same if his sister had been the driver.

I see lots of cars with mexican plates around the city. I patrol the streets everyday on the Westside and must see an average of at least 10 a day!

Anonymous said...

I have seen at least three in the last two weeks. I think ANY car bearing one of these should be stopped and checked for registration, green cards, and insurance. Impound\'em, and send their little a*sses to jail!!

I have not traveled out of the country much, do Mexican police routinely stop USA cars and check for registration, immigration status, etc? The complaint about cars seems weak, the complaint about illegals is where we need to stay focused.

My wife and I have driven two cars with Mexican plates for over 8 years here in ABQ (we are both dual citizens), along with others (purchased here) with NM plates.
Our cars have always been duly registered and insured, on both sides of the border.
Once when my wife was stopped by APD and the officer refused to believe the car was legally registered, we went to court, where the judge gave the officer a tongue lashing for wasting our - and the court's - time.
When I take my NM plated car to Mexico I also buy insurance. I have received nothing but courteous treatment from Mexican customs and police officials. (My son got a speeding ticket once, but he deserved it).
I have lived in Mexico 20 years and more than 30 in the states and I can tell you that most of you posting above on this issue are speaking through your racist sphincters.

Today we march! Tommor we vote ese! The suits and ties ill control the police and the politics! Whiners!!

You already do control the politics in NM - ese

Don't EVEN start with that racism bullshit. It is what it is; illegals taking advantage of the system. Getting benefits that they don't deserve on the backs of those of us who are already taxed enough. Maty Chavez & Bill Richardson will lose big because of it. They want their votes at our expense but they won't even make it past the primaries. They have gone as far as they can go.
Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma are running these leeches out of their states, so they will come here to ravage and pilage all of our freebees. Bring it on assholes and you'll be looking down the barrel of a gun.

Lets get constructive troops. There are many things, too many things, in this turd of a city & state that we can do little about. This is one issue where an impact can be made. Want to affect immigration decision in this city and state then take it up a notch. Carpet bomb the GAO (Government Accounting Office) contact@gao.gov, with complaints and information about just what is going on around here, don't assume that they must know. Federal appropirations are strange and detailed animals. If you fail to use the appropirations for the purpose specified or fail to comply with the directives attached to those funds, you lose the funds. Pretty simple process. I would imagine that many federal dollars that come into this area do so with little or no follow up. Out of 5 instances that I know details of and have supplied report on, x2 have lost their appropirations to date for failure to comply with federal directives. Want to get their attention and begin to get a small handle on programs that support illegals on our dime? Go after the funds......................

Well put. As with everthing else, money is where you advance things or kill things.

Anonymous said...

Oh, by the way. The same applies to politicians. In these upcoming races for Senate and Congress, kill the campaign contributions to the candidates,(those crums and self servers)and you kill the head of these snakes.
Any guesses who we might be talking about?

Anonymous said...

Heinrich has raised more money than Darren.

Anonymous said...

Well then, there you have it. He may be a sleeper in this race and with the current tide, he could take it unless the 'R's come up with someone who can actually raise money and win it.

Anonymous said...

The 'R's would rather back a liberal who honestly believes what he's there for and supports his constituents rather than elect their own kind that they can no longer trust.

Thanks for the website. I see license plates in DROVES from Chihuhua at the flea market (state fair ground patrol) and also on 12th street selling crap out of their vans. A flea market worker said they go to goodwill on San mateo near montgomery and load up tons of crap and goodwill gives them huge discsounts. And I thought goodwill was for poor American citizens that can't afford regular stuff, not for illegals to make a dime off.

Better increase the jail's food budget if Mark B,,,, I mean the "Eye" is headed their way. Gezus man, have some pride! Push away!

Okay I've had enough. I'll move away from the buffet table as soon as your wife gets out from under the table.

Heck no, I like her under there....
