The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Lack of Trust

It's always been our opinion that the trust of the governed is an absolute necessity if any governing body is to operate efficiently. It may be simply a sign of the times or a sign of something specific to the current city administration, but Eye On Albuquerque readers overwhelmingly distrust the current administration.

In our unscientific poll of 355 readers, a whopping 76% have no trust in the current city administration, 6% trust it some of the time, 11% most of the time, 8% all of the time, and only one person didn't know (read the results here). A healthy skepticism of government is imperative, but when over 3/4 of a governed body have lost trust in those that govern it's an indication of a serious problem - a problem that will take more than the few months between now and the next city election to fix.

This week were casting our gaze on national politics - something we rarely do. Since everyone is all a-twitter about the upcoming caucus by New Mexico's Ds and of course Super Tuesday, we thought we'd get in on the act adding the Rs into the mix just to be fair. Don't forget to vote!

I think it speaks volumes when those governing have lost the trust of those they govern and continue to blindly conduct business "as usual" ignoring the building distrust of their constituents. Even worse are those in positions of trust who abuse their positions and then wonder why they are distrusted!

Thank you 'Eye' for keeping the public informed on what REALLY goes on in this city, since the whores in the media can't or won't.
Our news is always just more of the same. Bla, Bla, Bla.
There afraid Marty will spank them. So sad that we have no journalistic values here.

I feel like there is no hope in ever getting rid of the mighty Marty. He will as he is trying to find a way to run again and again and again. I don’t get it, if there are so many whom are not happy with this man then why does he keep getting back in? I hate the fact that our politics here and all around the country are based on an image of someone, and we are all so stupid for buying it, well not me I don’t plan on voting any longer I don’t see the point when my vote don’t really count anyways in this country where it is possible to steal an election! I will however continue to pray for our city and pray for the lighting bolt that will eventually come down and zap Marty on his ass!

My sense is that things are changing in the Land of Enchantment. Any of you attend the League of Women Voter's event with candidates last year? Whether it was a question for the Sec of State or the Land Commissioner, every single question included this: "What are you going to do about the corruption here in NM?" People are totally sick of it! It's an exciting time to be in NM, as evidenced by the great comments on the Eye site. . .

Ialso think the tides of change are coming to ABQ. Look at how fast the Mayor was shot out of national politics. I think the people have seen enough of dirty politicians and the rejection of the Mayor for US Senate is a perfect example!

The Mayor could not win any election, even a third term for Mayor is a can't do for this dirty politician.

Mayor Chavez" corrupt political is over after this term.

This guy is just a lying weasel like the majority of his directors, ie, the Chief of Police!

However, his directors are just a mirror image of their boss or a reflection of their administration.

That's why this city is in a bind!

To the person that went to the League of Women voters. Good going, I need to re-up.

And to the person that doesn't want to vote again. I contemplated that myself onetime, then thought about other countries, around the world, where people don't have that right. It probably is corupt but don't give up that right, please vote. The politicians probably hope that, us with a voice, won't vote. They want the zombies to continue to follow.

With all the corupt things that Marty and his pals do, I think it's a matter of time before he/they won't be able to worm their way out.

This Mayor and his administration play dirty small time politics

I am soooo glad that he can be elected for anything any longer.

All of the Mayor's selfserving actions have cost him his dearly!

Thank god ABQ does not like this tyrant any longer.

Chavez will not be elected for another term for Mayor by the citizens of ABQ!

The people have had enough of dirty politics!

I was ready to re-up with the "League of Women Voters" unil I just heard a commercial on radio that they're pro Hilary & Universal Health care.

Maybe I should re-up that way there's an another opinion.

"Universal Health Care" is just another fad, like "just say no". Drew Barrymore crying next to Nancy Regan while she was probably high on crack.

This cities administration is crooked.

They play far too many number games.

Did you see the BS in the Journal today about the firefighters with DWI's that were put back to work. Marty and Paul are such liars. THis was a deal between the IAFF and King Marty for support when he was running for Senate. What happened to his hardline approach of firing city workers with DWI's?

to BS about the firefighters:

You are exactly right. And how come AFD won't release their names, it's public record.

Our media is too in bed with Marty, because he feeds them information about others. There's no way they'd file a freedom of press complaint against the King or any of his directors.

And what about AFD Chief Ortega, that guy needs to take a public speaking course!! It's obvious he lives on the west sii-ed.

remember me the one that was not going to vote...well I thought about it and went and voted anyways...then yet again the scandals! please someone explain to me how they can mess up every single election in NM...it is beyond comrehension? Why does it take a week or more to count votes? We are a laugh to other states, and Im sure it is because someone needs a little more time to screw with the votes..dirty politics...Im sick of it I really am. I know that voting is my right but how do I exercise my right and make sure that is is not stolen?
