Cave In - Sauzo Back at the Academy

Late yesterday the 5th floor and the Almighty Alcalde appear to have caved and re-transferred Commander Sauzo back to the Academy. The move was apparently in response to the mass exodus taking place in the recruiting department. The administration also offered to cancel all of the transfers of any officer who would stay.

You know it was probably a smart move. After all, it'd be even harder to reach 1,100 officers without anyone to recruit them.

Gee, those people at the top of the Law Enforcement Center (5th floor) are real ignorant, that's not real smart up there. hahahahah I guess, maybe it is the lack of air, as no one could just be that plain stupid.

Talk about biting off you nose to spite your face. These guys just keep on doing it. Just when you think they can't f@*k something else up, the 5th floor does it! How much worse can morale become???????

Is the chief going to help the capt put all his stuff back in his office. Last week, everything of the capt's was gone. DC Castro was moving in. It took the Capt along time to pack and move. I hope they help him repack and move back into the academy.

Stop the lies. I work at the academy and has anyone called the Academy to ask us what is really going on? NO!! The Captain made a mistake. He made the mistake and no one else. Stop spreading a bunch of Bullshi*. The Captain was not removed because of not hiring 1100 officers, that has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Why do you not want us to achieve our goal? We are working our asses off and receiving No help from the rank and file, media, city council or the union. NONE. The people who write on this blog want us to fail, and that is CRAP. Get your butts moving and support us. We are doing what most of you won't. WE are making our department better. You are not. Better yet, next time you are at MOE sipping your coffee stop in our office and see what we are doing? We are there working for you and not against you. I wish the same were true in the reverse. We all know who are the na-sayers are! Standards have not been lowered, as a matter of fact, YOU would not meet todays standards. God knows you dont have the intregrity, guts or heart to be a real officer. And no I am not a suck up, chief's boy/girl, rehire or anything like that, just one the last real genuine officers doing this job for the right reason. Because I care.

as a matter of fact, YOU would not meet todays standards..... what is that... a pulse...common there last real american hero cut the crap, you're no better than anyone else in fact come on out to the field and take some calls

Hey you DC Castro kiss ass. Matt did not screw up, they set him up! You know the standards have changed and the 5th floor is trying to lower them. Heck, they don't even need to wait 6 months if they fail a test. They can show up at the next testing process and retake a failed test. We have never done that before. They used to have to wait out for one year. So, don't say things have not changed. We are all working hard out here, but you know very well that the capt does not want to lower standards and made it very vocal.

I have an idea, why don't you become the DC's driver since you seemed to have driven your head far up his you know what.

Suazo was removed because he did the right thing, he didn't allow an infit person into the academy. A young female having daily conversations and probably more than that with the homicide sgt and a homicide detective, both whom are married is not mentally fit to be part of APD. Good for you Suazo. Now let's get to the real meat and get rid of that corrupt sgt in homicide.

What a self-righteous wuss you are,cut your crap attitude and maybe you will see that you are part of the problem. people know you havent been given the resources to meet your goal. the same is true in every other division of this department. there are people hard at work trying to get you some help. you have been sucked in by the apparent crappy leadership out there, and now you are attacking other officers. go back to the field, we need you out here.....or are youre weekends off and workouts every day too much to give up? we are in this together jerk, knock it off!

"We are working our asses off and receiving No help from the rank and file, media, city council or the union. NONE."

1. Define help.

2. You omitted the 5th & 11th floors in your list so are you really saying they ARE helping you???

3. 34's I know have stopped by and usually the verbal message is the party line but we the non-verbal message is read loud and clear. Things are worse than they appear.

Who ever claims to be working in the academy doesnt have the balls to put their name on the comment because they know what happenns when you cross the Mighty Alcalde, Martano, you get fired or indicted

Anonymous said...

He/She doesn't work at the Academy!!!! Just a phony poster. The attitude over there is top notch.

I love the rumor mill. Wait and see the real reason why Suazo was going to be removed....it will intrigue you. While you are at it...Look at the Chief deciding to force the department to 5 - 8's....hahahaa....poor choice. There is a group of over 50 officers sworn to leave the department if that happens, regardless of a pay raise. And not to mention another group who plans on finishing the Vote Of No Confidence. Schultz continues to dig his own grave....you can only be Mighty Midget's Puppet for so long. If you drive the morale of the department any further down....none of your friends can help you. But that is all rumor as well...what do I know?

Suazo is back and so is the Lt. Sgt. and all the detectives,,,business as usual.

Seasoned veterans, committed APD officers, and strong believers in the future of the department are leaving leadership roles with-in the APD Academy due to what they truely believe is a political dumbing down of the academy and the department - speaks for itself I think......

Anonymous said...

Prior to Captain Suazo and his group, the administration ran the last group of command officer's out of the the academy as well. The Captain and both of his Lt's. They left because they received no support from their chain of command.

Anonymous said...

That's right. Seems like throwing the baby out with the bath water is SOP for failing Albuquerque political machines. These half hearted attempts by the Mayor's Office to gain public support for the 1100 are trivial compared to the damage and havoc wreaked by this administration. The long term affects of the deterioating situation at the academy will resonate with-in APD, on the street, in the community, and with the City's Citizens in a very negative way. Not to mention that the safety of accomplished Officers is compromised each time political greed replaces good tried and true policy. My best to all of you who serve this community unselfishly - you are appreciated.

Yes, I agree- thank you to all who serve and protect us civilians. Officers have the toughest job I can imagine--your ranks are small and this city is huge and full of all types of crime. I honestly don't know how you men and women do it, day in day out! Again, thanks to you all you make our lives safer every day doing your jobs! God bless you all.

Thank you to all of ALbuquerques bravest. You guys and gals do it day in and day out to serve in a thankless proffession. My prayers are with you all.

Commander Suazo has been a great commander and leader for the academy. First of all, he is actually here. The previous person that you all talk about for being so great was never here. He should have been ashamed to collect his paycheck because his hourly rate for actual work was about $2000 per hour. He did nothing but complain the few hours he was here each month. As for his group of lieutenants, they were here, IN THE GYM. They worked out more that Bruce Jenner and Barry Bonds. They also did a great job of attending all the training that the rest of us could not. Traveled extensively, built up their resumes and double dipped. Their girlfriends appreciated the extra visits, gifts and cash all at taxpayer expense. They all left because they could not get the job done. They were asked to perform a task and they FAILED. So they did what most expected of them. They turned tail and RETIRED. Not what you would expect from a leader. Now they get together with the rest of the disgruntled malcontents and complain. They can be found at a local restaurant commiserating with some of the other commanders. Commander Suazo keep up the hard work don’t become like one of those other has beens. You are better than they ever could be.

Grilfriends and traveling to build up their resume'. Get a real job!!! Just because some of the Academy Staff was qualified to teach for DOE and you probably were turned down because you were not. When these Lts. went to fight the 5th floor about not having the manning levels at the academy to accomodate the "Mighty Alcalde" with his 3-4 classes a year, and having to pull instructors from specialized units, and firearms instructors working more hours at the range than being with their families; it became pretty clear to them "WHO" was leading our department. It wasn't Schultz by any means and he didn't have the balls to tell the Mayor it was impossible. Especially when these extra classes are only 9-20 at the most. What a waist of staffing that has become. Let's see how many QUALIFIED candidates they get to fill the 100th class coming up. Guarantee (5th floor) w/ DC, Chief and Mayor will make a media circus event when this class is seated at the end of the month.

Anonymous said...

So far this last class has lost over 20 cadets. That's a record, but poor hiring prcatices bring poor cadets. They may seat a bunch, however, many will be worthless and should not even be there. The last class was the case in point. I hear they even have special people assigned just to try and get people to pass the tests, and you can test as often as you like, until you pass. What a deal, if I flunk this week, I'll just show up next week with a big advantage over the previous week. Sooner or later I am bond to pass. That's one way to get cadets

Anonymous said...

Yes I think the truth needs to get out about the real Suazo, who care uf he's a great commander, he's a FOR or fan of ray,,,always will be. The person in recruiting, if u don't like it transfer, pretty easy

Anonymous said...

Above poster, if you know the real reason why Suazo was transferred why don't you say it? Imagine a cop having an affair, male or female, doesn't matter, that's nothing new

Anonymous said...

The 5th floor really f@*ked up by transferring Suazo, why do you think they are moving him back.

Anonymous said...

This new contract is again one sided, benefitting the rooks and screwing the veterans. No wonder they are all leaving. Ron Olivas promised that would only T/A a blanace/fair contract, I guess he is no better than Lawrence, Jeff and Cici.

The only President who retained the respect of fellow officers was Alex Marentes, but look where he is now!

Can't wait to retire

Nice meeting last night! Somebody put best when it was said that a lot of people will get a nice raise at the expense of others. Pretty much sums it up.

Keep longevity as its an incentive and inducement to remain.

Build upon the existing contract. Never accept a reduction or transfer in rights/benefits, its got to be an expansion otherwise its a step back with this Administration. Force this issue to the city council and let the games begin....

Anonymous said...

As a non-officer city employee is this front page headline in today's journal a great deal or what for our officers? It sure looks good in Marty-spin, but I'm just wondering if it's as good as it sounds.

Anonymous said...

No, it's not as good as it sounds. The officers are losing their longevity pay. What would be good is giving the officers with 11-17 years on the department a bonus or an incentive for staying on for more than 10 years instead of starting officers out at 48k a year and giving them a bonus to sign up for 7 years! Once again, they are scewed!

Anonymous said...

All of you malcontents are workong at a police academy? God help us, I think we all know why, the well is poisoned. please, leave, retire, cant wait huh? DONT, get out now, you are the problem

Anonymous said...

You on the 5th floor preach a good game after your 12K payraise. You guys suck and are nothing but back stabbers and losers. Look what you have done to our morale, once more!!!!

Anonymous said...

I don't know about anyone else but I would like to know the names of the certain Homicide Sergeant, the certain Homicide Detective, and the young female with whom they had daily conversations with. Is the young female already working as a civilian of APD?

Anonymous said...

sgt A, Detective F

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why you are using initials if this is an anonymous comment. And why was there no mention of the female's name and/or if she works as a civilian for APD.
