The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Eye Wide Open

Some of you may have been wondering what has happened to your friendly neighborhood Eye. To put it simply we've been getting a little shut Eye. It's been a long couple of years with over 400 posts. It was simply time to step back, take a breath, and get ready for the years to come.

December 16th, 2006 was our first post. Our job was and continues to be to keep an Eye on what happens down at city hall. With the city heading into financial crisis and its leaders hell bent on building monuments to themselves, our job is far from complete.

We thank you for your years of readership and support. EyeOnAlbuquerque.com is a place where opinions can be voiced and inside information can be shared. Your participation is vital to our success. Thank you again for being here... and rest assured that The Eye is Wide Open.

We were beginning to wonder!!!

I think it is good to observe those things around us, good or bad. I like the quote from Cicero on Rome's situation at the time (55 B.C.) ... the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled! It's good to see a blog like this. If nothing more, we can voice our opinions without the fear of being beat up physically by the gangs who wear a badge and by those who could care less about our safety, but are happy to receive a paycheck.

This is a great source of info. You sould put this in our Daily Lobo as an add, I know the fellow students would love it!

Way to go eye!

I just figured the eye was out conducting more of those super-accurate unscientific polls he splashed on the site pre-election.

Keep the disinformation coming, eye. Yours is the best fiction site on the web.

that clown garcia cant even run his squad let alone this site,,,now thats good comedy at work.

The word disinformation is not toally inaccurate when describing some of the out of control comments here sometimes. However, as someone who has been around this town for 50 years, 23 of those in the employ of the city, I can honestly say that there are some real nuggets of truth hidden in all the dirt on these pages.
Remarkably, some of the best stuff has been items that the uninitiated would have assumed were totally too crazy to have happened.
Once you dig past the personal attacks you see some real intel. on those at the top of the trough rooting their snouts through buckets of taxpayer dollars and leaving their employees in the lurch.
(I use the bucket analogy to remind you of the former patron saint of central NM, Manny Aaragon, who allegedly got his payoffs in a 5 gallon paint bucket).

People may come here for levity, or to argue with a conservative, but the reason you come back is the once in awhile when some crap you saw here ends up on the news a few months later and you have that "Aha" moment.
