The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Tense Times, a Job Search, and Lack of Leadership

It's amazing. Every four years or so something happens over at APD - right at the start of an election year - that threatens the, shall we say... job security of the city's top cop. Last time it was the evidence room scandal where the folks over in the evidence room were helping themselves to valuables being held by APD and BCSO. This time it's a serial killer that has been - and perhaps still is - operating in the metro area.

Last time the Almighty Alcalde was embaraced right before an election, Chief Gil Gallegos found himself out of a job. Our Eyes tell us that in light of his predecessor's fate, Chief Schultz isn't waiting for Marty's pink slip he's simply looking for a new job.

It seems that the Chief and his honor the mayor aren't on exactly good terms these days. The mayor is a bit peeved that he can't travel around the country talking up the city when he's toting a serial killer in his wake. Meanwhile, Ray can't seem to carry out the Almighty Alcalde's directive that there shall be no serial killer in Albuquerque even though there are 13 witnesses testifying to the contrary.

Meanwhile, our Eyes tell us that Marty has already collected his 3,200 plus $5 contributions and is ready to announce his bid for an unprecedented third consecutive term - perhaps as early as today. Not that it's any surprise that Marty would run for the office that he sued the city to be able to continue to hold. But, there have been numerous rumors that the Alcalde was headed to Washington to take jobs with the Greens or even with the big Hill - Secretary of State Clinton.

It appears that the enmity between the Chief and his boss centers on the very real possibility that he will lose the upcoming election. Look, neither Chief Schultz nor Mayor Chavez can be held responsible for the actions of a serial killer. However, they certainly can be held responsible for how they have handled the tragic revelations from the southwest mesa.

Claiming that Albuquerque doesn't and never had a serial killer, throwing out non-suspects in an attempt to mislead the public into a false sense of security are desperate, political acts that could actually place the public in danger. These are acts that can and should be held against the Chief and the current administration... and the Chief knows it. In fact, our Eyes tell us that Schultz will be gone either before or after the October election.

Four years ago, Marty promised that heads would roll over the evidence room scandal. Of course, only one head rolled and his buddy AG Patricia Madrid couldn't find enough evidence - or lack thereof - in the evidence room to pursue charges. Make no mistake, anything that embaraces the mayor especially during an election year, will at the very least result in a job search.

It's a disturbing pattern, brushing real problems under a rug made from the hide of a scapegoat. It's a pattern devoid of leadership, and one that we have come to expect from Chavez and his administration.

Larry Barker had an interesting piece on double dipping retirees and guess who was right in the middle of all of it? That's right Mayor Chavez and his Administration. Voters need to remember all this crap come October and vote this bum outta' office.

What rubbish!!!!

I think the Mayor is well aware of APD's short comings and will do what's right for the Citizens of Albuquerque. The Mayor is only interested in building the best Police Department in the SW and if he take notice that certain people are stifling or crippling the organization, he will take whatever steps deemed appropriate to correct the problems, as he has already previously clearly demonstrated.

Remember, the Mayor only knows what his Department Directors tell him, many times information is withheld and the Mayor does not get the factual information he needs. In addition, sometimes the directors take incorrect information back to their respective organization and profess it to be from the Mayor's office, especially if the information is unwelcomed by the employees.

Albuquerque is a diverse growing city with many opportunities. The Mayor has initiated many new programs to attract outside business's to relocate to Albuquerque and bring this city more economic growth. The Mayor has Albuquerque's interest at the forefront and has certainly demonstrated he can do a great job of running this city.

The word is spelled "embarrassed", Eye. I don't think anyone outside of APS spells it "embaraced".

Here is the link to Barker's story. Marty's chief Ed Adams should be forced to resign for getting caught lying to the public. I wonder who Felicia kept looking at during her interview with Barker when she said the city only had her retire on paper hmmmm. Time for liars like Adams to be shown the door.

And time for the legislature and governor to repeal this the double dipping law!

Also, PERA and the AG are looking at opening an investigation into every double dipper and if they faked their retirement they will suspend their pensions and make them pay PERA back what has been paid. This is the only way to get rid of government corruption.

John walsh is a lying double dipper..once he is gone then we can begin to resore the publics' trust

As a citizen of Albuquerque I was disgusted at CAO Ed Adams. He was so blantant with his lying it made me sick. Then to see the look on that poor gals face as she truthfully answered the questions regarding her only retiring on paper. I am sure who ever she was looking at was trying to intimadate her and I can only think it was Ed Adams. Mayor Marty needs to restore some dignity and faith in city hall and dismiss Adams now for lying to the public.

Didn't he also lie about the Redflex contract and who signed it? This guy is a trainwreck.

Get real. PERA isnt investigating anything. They make out like bandits with the current law. They get what the city pays plus the city pays the employee share...and they dont have to pay anything out to that retired employee in the end...a free donation to the fund. Why would anyone in thier right mind want to change that...because they have all the employee's best interest in mind...thats funny. Larry Barker is an idiot...everything done is within the law yet he is too lazy to find something interesting to report on.

(DATE LINE) Albuquerque, NM: March 6, 2009, “War Zone” changed name to the “International Zone”, the area is worse than ever. Just drive Central from Tramway to Carlisle any time of the day and it’s obvious.

The neighborhood assoc, (abbreviated ASS) claims the name change will revolutionize their F***’d up area, NOT. There’s a lot of good, low income, and generational people that live in that hood. Just look at the APD, AFD stats, anytime 24/7 and a person can understand a drug, DV and/or prostitution gig going down.

Since the Mayor is attempting to make a political difference, during an election year, he’s pushing the scum into the Uptown area. No solution just appeasement for the current ‘Go Marty” vote. The “War Zone” will never change, it’s Central for God’s sake, but for the moment Marty can pull the “Green” card.

The money spent on the name change? Marty’s sign company and photo op. The taxpayer’s money spent as Marty wants too, priceless. For more information contact 311 or John Walsh.

When you say the city why don't you say TAXPAYER. I am tired of funding these double dippers. My tax dollars should not pay in for them at 100%. They should have to contribute their own money, but they are so greedy they will do anything unethical that they can to stuff their pockets. Double dippers don't care about the unemployed or the people that can't get promoted. You make me sick. I hope you choke on the money you are getting while others are standing in line trying to get a job.

If you go to church you should pray for forgiveness for your greed.

Marty and the Chief aren't the only city "leaders" with issues...one of the "assistant directors" (theres 4 actually) of the library has told ALL library staff that pornography is defined as pictures of "penetration" only and that it's OK for for customers to view naked &/or suggestive photos on the internet. Geesh, kids are in the library at the computers all the time! No wonder this city adminsitration is messed up!!!

And he was busted for what he is when he was seen on a cruise to Alaska with his boyfriend.....no credibility, no integrity and no honesty. He wouldn't make a pimple on a real investigative reporter's ass.

I just love how Marty uses City employees to cough up $5.00 each for his reelection. They were clammering to do so. Afterall who wants to be off Marty's BuFu list. He has the whole booty even before he's announced. Guess that reason enough to have term limits, especially for those who can't seem to get a real job.
Directors running around the offices with they're coupons books to be filled out right in the open, right in the middle of the day and during work hours. Great way to have paid workers gathering the signatures and the $5 contributions. Only problem is, me/you/we are paying their wages, while they do Marty's campaign work.
One source also revealed tha he got a campaign call from the 11th floor, using city phone lines and on the taxpayers dime. Isn't caller ID wonderful.

Third post. What F_ _ king dream world are you in. Marty this & Marty That. Marty wants whats right for APD; Marty want to bring industry in here, Bla Bla, Bla,
Gag me already. If he's so damned concerned about APD & this City, then why has he given Ray a mandate to have his supervisors to the officers to lay off illegal aliens , drug dealers and any other cretin garbage. Can't ask for paperwork, drivers license.
afterall this is a Sanctuary City.
So why is that?
Say no Ray, to this shit.

The Mayor only knows what his department heads tell him… Aha, ha, ha, ha, ha and I’m still laughing!

Who are you and where did you come from? Ever attend one of the “Go Marty” meetings? Directors don’t tell Marty what’s going on, they tell him what he wants to hear! If told the truth he yells at them, humiliates them in front of everybody, has made people cry and he will fire them at his will. They’re “at will” employees and they’ll get the boot whenever he wants, he has before. It’s bad, directors won’t stand up for their people, they have no integrity or ethics and they sit around kissing Marty’s ass.

And for those people that say: “if you don’t like it do something about it” I’ve tried more than a few times. Basically I’ve been told no way, you don’t understand we have to do what Marty wants! This is a huge reason morale is so bad throughout the city employees, but Marty nor his directors care. What they do care about is MONEY!

Anonymous said...

No matter what you think about Schultz and I know it's not good, his MAIN problem is Marty. I think Ray could be a good leader if he didn't have that weasle Marty breathing down his back. I know a lot of people here don't like Schultz, but basically he's OK, Marty's the one that needs to go.

Anonymous said...

The leadership/administration in this city is a mess! All perverts every last one of them--mobsters, freaks, drunks, druggies, cheaters, you name it. And they have the nerve to make sure all us "peons" (the only ones that do any real WORK for the city), toe the line! Please, it's "do as I say, not as I do" as usual. Don't they realize we vote too? Bunch of hypocrites..

Wow! Just heard on Channel 13 that Mr. Marty is going to get busy starting tomorrow to alleviate those pesky double dippers.

Now, don't we all feel so reassured, because we all know from one previous poster how Marty has all our best interests at heart and all.

Oh Please!

Anonymous said...

Isn't Ray a retired (rehired)?

Anonymous said...

I just saw KRQE and they said the first ones to make the decision to take their retirement or keep their city job are, drumrollllllll,

Bakas, Castillo (both undecided as of now) Irene Garcia who is now taking her retirement, Felicia who is suspending her retirement and DeHerrera who is undecided. Now here is my question, is Marty throwing all double dippers under the bus and telling them to retire or stop their pension? If so I think the city website should be flooded with unemployed Eclipse people applying for the several hundred double dipping jobs. This could do a lot to put these folks back to work.

And what about all those double dippers at APD? They all stayed out 90 days, but is Marty making a blanket order? I hope Barker reads this blog so he can get some of these questions answered.

Anonymous said...

To the poster who talks about the poor "peons" who do all the work for the City.

C'mon. We see you at work everyday.

Six DMD workers standing around while one shovels. Parks employees sleeping in the cabs of their trucks. Four APD officers backing up weekend traffic at Coronado Mall so they can guffaw with two EMTs about the disoriented homeless woman. Trash drivers ignoring recyclabes as they do 50 mph through a residential neighborhood.

The list goes on and on and on.

The taxpayers aren't fooled by your "we do all the work" bullshit. If we could, we'd fire more than half of you peons tomorrow morning. Maybe then you could find a real job in the private sector and find out what real work really looks like.

Anonymous said...

Once again Marty has spun and the Journal and KRQE buys it hook line and sinker. Marty signed off and approved the fake retirements, but the media is making him out to be the savior of double dipping. What is wrong here? Am I the only person who wants to know who at city hall approved the fake retirements? Why aren't the people who faked their retirments being told to leave immediatley? These are not ethical people when they strive to violate state law for their own bank accounts. Why won't the media report this? Where is Cadigan, O Malley , Romero, etc? Why are they not doing a press conference and asking these questions? Marty is dirty on this up to his neck, but the media lets him come out smelling like a rose. This is the best Albuquerque media and politicans can do? We deserve Marty for another 4 years.

MARTY FOR MAYOR IN 09'

Anonymous said...

The time has finally come that the majority of citizens living in Albuquerque have come to realize the obvious that the City desperately needs a change in leadership. Come November, Marty
and his band of men that have
failed to protect 13 females will
be voted out of office. Marty Chavez was Mayor from 2000 to present.

Thomas Jefferson Quotes for Our Day

When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.

No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes, the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, those banks and the corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Anonymous said...

Of course again the teflon don comes out smelling like a rose.

Notice one thing he said is that public safety and some other divisions would be exempt from double dipping.

He'll just reclassify all his at will buddies into public safety. Example: the ex fire chief baseball card thief, Carlos, who's in charge of AFD supply. Technically he's already under public safety.

Anonymous said...

What about Mark Shepherd? Lied on his application to get his job as a rehire, the city paid out to the tune of 50 k to shut up the people who were better qualified, and he is still employed as a rehire running the security division. THEY are public safety, but as their manager, he is not. He also was the one responsible for allowing the supervisors to take their vehicles home to Belen and Cedar Crest, costing taxpayers thousands, is corrupt, double dipping, playing fast and loose with the taxpayers money, claiming that he has bought all these things and made working conditions better for the officers. No, it's not better for the officers, but damned if the supervisors that cover up his wrongdoing aren't using all new equipment, in their all new offices, and driving all new vehicles, while the officers don't even have radios that work, and it is THEIR ass on the line when it counts. He is another one who needs to go....now.
And if you think Marty didn't know? He was Marty's bodyguard when he was a corrupt cop. Cleaning up Marty's messes, covering Marty's ass. He is an appointed employee, and as such is double dipping, and not covered under public safety.

Anonymous said...

Please, someone tell us the truth. There are those of us who would come out of the woodwork and do what is necessary to get rid of city scum at all levels.

Someone told us when we moved here that because of the large number of older persons and retirees there was a sense of apathy because these groups were tired and not able or willing to fight. Hence problems like "we don't have kids in the school system" so we don't care about the third world education they are getting.

There is no appropriate law enforcement, low level intelligence in our government officials, poor education and a rat hole of a filthy city we have. No competent medical care - those of the older who come here to retire are stunned to find that they have to go to other states to get what they need medically and spending tens of thousands of their own dollars doing it.

The whole city needs to be revamped and a little sunshine shone at all levels to give people a fair chance to know if they want to come here or if they want to stay after being duped into coming here because of the good weather. There could be no other reason.

We are a laughing stock and Mayor Marty is a national laughing stock. He is something I am accustomed to scraping from the bottom of my shoe.

Anonymous said...

oh ya....and Baca did anything? Marty can not take the blame for everything! I cant really remember Baca doing anything as mayor, accept cutting free checks to avaoid law suits.

BTW, the city does not employ EMT's jack ass, they work for Pres.

It takes most candidates months to get signatures and the $5 contributions through a lot of hours and hard work, door to door etc. It takes Marty a couple of hours going from cubicle to cubicle to get 3,280 City employees $5 contributions and signatures. Gee that's fair. This is not democracy in progress, this is a dictatorship.
He has all of his leg work sewed up with help from his directors. He can't announce yet as he has yet another scandal going on. Double dippers that he didn't know about(right) and the 13 bodies found in the mesa that no one knew about except the serial killer who by all accounts could still be out there. Just burying the bodies in other places.
Gee how many high paying City officials have recruited the services of those hookers.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm......

Nick Bakas, Ray Schultz and Joe Bowdich. All these guys are getting rich off of Albuq tax payer money. These guys are all rehires!!!!! I think this is Bowdich's third or fourth retirement. This guy is so far out of touch with policing, I have no idea why they keep him around. All he does is sleep during meeting. He burned us when he was Sheriff by protecting a child molester.

Lets see what the Mayor does with this bunch. They are just keeping jobs from younger and much smarter people. They explanation that they have more experience is BS. They are all old school with very old ideas!

The APD, The FBI, and the CIA are all trying to prove that they are
the best at apprehending criminals. The Mayor decides to give them a test. He releases a rabbit into a forest and each of them has to catch it.

The CIA goes in. They place animal informants throughout the forest.
They question all plant and mineral witnesses. After three months of extensive investigations they conclude that rabbits do not exist.

The FBI goes in. After two weeks with no leads they burn the forest,
killing everything in it, including the rabbit, and they make no apologies. The rabbit had it coming.

The APD goes in. They come out two hours later with a badly beaten
bear. The bear is yelling: "Okay! Okay! I'm a rabbit! I'm a rabbit!'

You cops don’t know how good you have it, go to a small town PD and then compare what you have. Quit whining and do your dam job. The benefits and everything else you all have come directly from the APOA’s negotiations’ with the city. Yea, bite the hand that feeds you, real smart. Last time I checked there are people being handed pink slips left and right all over the country, yet you all keep your jobs. Its Joeys fault, its Ron’s fault……get over it if you want to make change get involved or shut up. If you think it’s so easy just ask Mr. Obama how easy it is, yea all his talk sounded great till you’re the lone man driving the ship.

Anonymous said...

OK, here comes Mr. “get over it” again, straight from the 11th / 5th floor. He/she tells everybody to quit whining, because it’s one of Marty’s bud’s making the big bucks for kissing ass and that’s about it. Oh, except collecting $5.00 on city time from city employees, most who don’t want to give but know their name will be remembered and the covert retaliation begins.

FYI “get over it”, not all that post are whining cops or other city employees. People from all over the US are reading this blog now and thinking what a corrupt, stinking city we have. My relatives living in big corrupt cities back east can’t believe how third world it is here. They’ll stay where they’re at and put up with their corruption because it’s nothing compared to our city and state.

And your next statement will be if you don’t like it then leave. It’s not that easy to pack up and relocate especially with the crap public education we have gotten, if we grew up here, and the shit pay. What kind of savings do you think most of us have, especially with the current atmosphere?

Then stop paying your union dues and transfer to SO or better yet move to a department outside of the city. If you are that displeased move on with your life....you are the few not the many.

Lets see who runs against Joey Sigala for union prez? I bet ABSOLUTELEY NO ONE WILL!!! your all a bunch of whiners! If you dont like it change it! Obviously everything will stay the same because no one around APD has any balls to change it, therefore you get what you've got coming.
