The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Secret Election

Do you have your calendars circled, marked, highlighted, or penciled in for February 2, 2010? No, I am not talking about American Idol (plus, who cares now Simon is leaving and Paula is gone) or your favorite television program. On Feb. 2, APS is asking you to vote yes on $617 million dollars for construction, improvement and maintenance projects at APS facilities. Wonder why they picked a date in the middle of winter, when no one is watching and while the legislature is still in session. Could it be they don’t want you to know?

APS really wants this money. They want it so bad that they have made sure the deck comes up with a winning hand. Early voting started Jan. 8 and runs through Jan. 30. Election day is Feb. 2, 2010. If you're going to vote early you'll be voting at one of only four locations in the entire county.

1. Bernalillo County Clerk’s Annex, 620 Lomas
2. Alamosa Community Center, 6900 Gonzales Rd SW
3. Don Newton Community Center, 4900 Kachina St NW
4. APS City Centre, 6400 Uptown Blvd NE

Did you ever play the game “one of these things is not like the other?” Why did the County Clerk put one of four early sites in the very building whose occupants directly benefit from the passage of the bonds? The might as well have setup early voting locations in every classroom, Union Hall, and PTA meeting? Heck, with the date of the election, consolidated voting locations, and with a convenient location that makes sure that every beneficiary has an opportunity to vote, APS might want to go ahead and start spending our money.

APS' Finance Division was recently audited by Meyners +Co. Their auditors found;
inadequate standards,
inadequate accountability, and
inadequate record keeping, and NEVER HAVE!

Likely millions of tax dollars have gone missing, and APS steadfastly refuses to answer questions about how much is missing and whether the auditors found criminal misconduct.

If you ask them to tell you how much much money they've spent at 6400 Uptown Blvd, they will not answer.

Why in God's name would anyone trust these people with even one penny more?

Because the APS brass, teacher's union officials, and parents always parade in fron of the TV cameras like this:

Hands folded together over chests.
Eyes rolled heavenward.
Now repeat in unison, "Think of the Chilllllldren. It's for the Chilllllldren."

APS is the biggest drain of wasted tax-payers money in the state.

APS bond elections and school board elections are always held in February. There have been some recent suggestions that these important elections be included on fall ballots. That, my friends, would not benefit APS one bit, as a larger group of voter's might jeopardize the "always pass a school bond" mentality . So for now they get to keep their separate, but unequal, election in the winter.

Their commercials are stating that if it passes your taxes won't go up. What they are telling you is that if it does not pass your TAXES WILL GO DOWN!

You like Winter so much, eye. He's one of the APS head honchos. What's he got to say about this? Maybe you'll hold his feet to the fire one of these days instead of sucking his toes on your site.

Amen Ched!
The lack of fiscal accountability is beyond belief--taxpayers need to make the effort to get out and vote and say NO to this bond. APS tells the public that "your taxes won't go up" but what they don't tell you is if you vote NO; your taxes will go down.

Is it legal for all the APS schools to use their signs to advocate for the election? My kid's school says "No new taxes Just new school improvements Vote Feb 2nd".

"No new taxes ..." is a manifestly dishonest statement.

Of course there will be new taxes, that's what a new tax is. This deliberate manipulation is indicative of the way these people think and the lack of respect they have for tax payers' intellect and pocketbooks.
