The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Who is the “God Father”? Does he have KRQE and KOAT Sleeping with the Fish?

The Eye is wondering if we have our own “Don Corleone” in City Hall. This is the story KRQE News 13 said didn't exist. Surprise! We have it! Unfortunately for them (and Darren White and his Taco Bell visiting right hand man, T.J. Wilham), The Eye found what this group of "dedicated news professionals" wanted to sweep under the carpet. The Eye has the story KRQE posted on their website before someone at the station decided the public it serves deserves to know about and pulled it. KOAT News 7 also posted a similar story before removing it. What is known is, KRQE reporter Katie Kim posted this story on-line at 4:09 pm. Then it was taken down shortly after going up and its very existence denied by station. Why? Why post a news story regarding an FBI investigate that involves the city's Chief Public Safety Officer and his wife; then pull it down in a matter of hours? Why deny its existence? If there was a legitimate reason for taking it off their website why not say so? Why engage in behavior that makes it look like a cover-up?

Here are other questions worth asking KRQE News 13 and KOAT News 7:

Did the fact that Darren White worked as a reporter at KRQE and still has friends there influence the station's decision to hide their own news story?

Would KRQE editor Paul Burt's repeated statements that he "would walk through fire for Darren White" indicate bias or lack of objectivity when it came to covering White or his current wife negatively?

Would the fact that mayoral spokesperson Chris Ramirez worked at KOAT News 7 as the City Hall reporter and also maintains relationships with his former employer have played a role in KOAT's decision to pull their own story?

Could former police beat reporter T.J. Wilham's friendships and personal contacts at the Albuquerque Journal be part of the reason the newspaper hasn't written a single word about the Ahrensfield defense motion or about Wilham's brand new city vehicle?

How incestuous is Albuquerque? (and we haven't begun to mention former KRQE anchor Erika Ruiz's role in all this)

Did Darren White, Chris Ramirez, T.J. Wilham or any other member of the Berry Administration contact personnel at either of these stations and demand that the news stories be pulled?

Is it news that when he was first asked who tipped him off that he was being investigated for selling drugs and other criminal activity that Shawn Bryan said it was Kathy McConnell, aka Darren White's then girlfriend/current wife?

Is it news that the FBI interviewed the current Mrs. White because she may have been texting information about the criminal investigation to Erika Ruiz, aka Mrs. Shawn Bryan?

If information was being exchanged between Mrs. White and Mrs. Bryan, where did that information come from?

How close was Darren White truly with Shawn Bryan before testifying that he barely knew him?

You can contact your KRQE News 13 here:

http://www.krqe.com/subindex/participate/report_it

KOAT News 7 here:

http://www.koat.com/contact/index.html

Finally, who is the “Don Corleone” who is responsible for shutting down this news story? Were they made an offer that they couldn’t refuse? Or is it just some “Dirty Bird”? It might be a good idea for our local media to step out of the cooler and leave the fish alone; if this is what has transpired. Otherwise; something simply smells fishy.

Here is the story as it appears on the KRQE website:

Convicted ex-cop files motion to dismiss
Ahrensfield defense says key evidence left out

Updated: Monday, 20 Dec 2010, 4:09 PM MST
Published : Monday, 20 Dec 2010, 4:09 PM MST

• Reporter: Katie Kim
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A jury found former Albuquerque Police officer Brad Ahrensfield guilty of obstructing justice last week for tipping off a friend who was the target of a criminal investigation. But on Monday, his defense filed a motion to dismiss, arguing the government violated rules by not disclosing key evidence.

According to the defense, the evidence in question is at least one government-conducted interview with the business owner at the center of the investigation. The interview was taped in April after the first trial ended with a deadlocked jury.

Ahrensfield was still an APD officer when he told a friend last year that investigators suspected drugs and stolen goods were being peddled out of his business.

Ahrensfield always insisted he didn't tell his friend he was the one being investigated. The defense claims when the FBI interviewed the friend, he said it was then-Sheriff Darren White's girlfriend who tipped him off that he was the subject of the investigation.

According to the defense, it didn't know this interview was conducted until last week.
A federal judge said he needs transcripts of that recorded interview and the entire trial to make a decision. Ahrensfield's attorney told News 13 it will likely take one to two months before the judge decides on the motion to dismiss.

If the judge upholds the guilty conviction, Ahrensfield faces up to 20 years in prison.

Mayor Berry and his transparency bullshit in action. Wake up mayor, this story and your guys involved are making you look like a fool.
I know, it's always the wife that's the last to know and they laugh out loud behind your back.
This keeps up, you'll be standing in line for more than just a meatball.

Brad Ahrensfield here; Those are great questions, some I really want to know myself. But, this story goes deeper than just Darren White, the fabric of this story weaves itself all the way to Chief Ray Shultz's office, threads itself into Deputy Chief Mike Callaway's office all the way too City Attorney Cathy Levy's office, makes a knot in Internal Affairs acting (at the time) Lt's office all the way down then anchors itself in SID.
If you doubt me, pay attention folks, I have pages of proof, that was delivered to me by an unknown (seriously) delivery person after the trial in April, apparently by someone who doesnt like the way business was being conducted in the US attorney's office. These pages are the very reason you can find on record a Tort claim filed by my Attorney against the City of Albuquerque alleging Negligance and Retaliation! Also, ask yourself why I have two witnesses that in the first week in October 2009, DC Mike Callaway was saying in open meetings that "Ron Olivas was going to be fine but Brad is going to prison" when in the first week of October the AUSA assigned to this case was Yarborough and he was on paternity leave and had not even looked at this case for yet another month! How does that happen? A Deputy Chief who can predict the future! The same DC who wrote a three page summation on a Police Officer named Orlando Comancho whom he wanted prosecuted for First Degree Murder, in the accidental shooting death of his Stepfather. He made an opinion on this case even though he did absolutely no investigation himself and it was contrary to the opinions of Detectives, Criminalist, and Experts in the case. Through fate I was the only witness to testify on behalf of Comacho, and through my testimony alone he was acquitted of Murder. I immediately felt the wrath of the Fifth Floor and my transfer From SWAT to the Police Academy was suspended, pending review of my Expert testimony (ask an officer how many times they heard of that happening). Come to find out-from the FBI no less- it was done by Chief Ray Shultz and I quote, "to make me uncomfortable after my testimony in the Comacho trial" Statement by yet to be named interviewee in the Chiefs office! This coming from a Chief who has a history of retaliation! Look it up April 2009 almost a million dollars paid out more case pendind and a sealed settlement by none other than Sheriff Darren White. I cant make this stuff up. Retaliation is the way business is conducted on APD. I have more, I only have just started!

well krqe looks like the EYE has you dead to rights and i feel it wont be long until they have koat.you people have the nerve to call yourselves news, WOW ! lets face it you are controlled by the powerful, and you will fall with them. This will not go away ! Brad yes we all are very aware of darren and ray and how they paint a big fat target on the back of any one who testifies honestly or who speakes up and states the truth against their spin. mean while darren protects leo's bar after his big hard hitting news release against the bar. yes darren we know and we have proof. the police shooting at 7/11 also needs to be looked at. no one can say anything or you will be targeted and fired for some trumped up charge. if you cross ray your career is over. BRAD YOU NEED TO WATCH YOUR BACK. THEY HAVE TO SHUT YOU UP. DONT PUT IT PAST THEM TO SHUT YOU UP AND BE RULED SUICIDE. WHO WOULD INVESTIGATE A.P.D. / F.B.I. ? it would let them all off the hook. the media would report that crazy Brad was found dead an appparant suicide. e- mail everything you have to the EYE ,or give it to someone you trust with your life.

Folks, the fix is in. If Brad did tip the drug dealer off, where'd he get his information? He wasn't part of the investigation. If he knew anything he got it from someone else. Another question. Why'd they give Shawn Bryan immunity? The drug dealer goes free no matter what. Was it to shut him up while Brad Ahrensfield a working stiff cop takes the rap? Why would they give the target of the criminal investigation full blown immunity?

Seeing Ray in the media a lot but no Darren. Hmmmm

Yeah Albuquerque it was OK for the press to report anything and everything when Officer Ahrensfield was thrown under the bus. It was Ok to have press there at the first trial in April when attorney Tara Neda violated Garrity and brought up Officer Ahrensfield past IA investigations that he was exonerated for. Those reports hit the internet in minutes. She didn't want the press there the day the motion was filed for dismissal because her record for unethical behavior was being brought to light. Oh yeah now the tide has turned. Be responsible journalists and report both sides, be fair to all those in Albuquerque.

Brad, I sure hope you sue everyone involved. Schultz already cost the taxpayers $1,000,000 for the Costales incident. He is a civil rights abuser. Why did Berry keep him as chief? There is something more going on and the only way to figure it out is to sue them.

I also think it is weird that a retired rehire, who is a big buddy of Schultz, gets arrested for felony domestic violence in California. This victim (his girlfriend) of course doesnt' show up so the case is tossed. Schultz could have fired him based upon him being bound over for trial, but nooooooooooo. This guy is still sleeping it off at the muesum at the main station. Just how many of us have gotten a tour of this museum? Why do we need a full time officer there, if the muesum never opens? Why didn't Ray fire this guy based upon the criminal complaint? And this is just one example of Schultz's poor leadership.

Anonymous said...

This so stinks. They won't report on this and they won't report on the Restraining Order wife #2 has on Darren. It's under seal. Same thing they wanted to do with Brad's motion to dismiss. The ABQ media may be a bigger bunch of whotes than the ones at TD's. At least the girls are honest about what they're getting paid for.

Anonymous said...

WHEN, will someone from outside look into all of this?
Local media is out. We need a national news agency to look at this. Will the Dept of Justice or the US attorney General look at this, since the local FBI is looking the other way .

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if Vegas has odds on any of this stuff? I'd like to 'invest' a few bucks in the outcome.

Throw in the weirdness surrounding Mary Han's death, and the continuing saga of Levi Chavez, and it may not be a question of IF Schultz and White get axed or indicted, but when and for what.

Too bad we don't have our own version of WikiLeaks' document dump. The ledgers at city hall must be full of records documenting payments to victims of official misdeeds, and to lawyers defending the city for incompetence and worse.

Why retaliate against brad for his testimony in camachos trial. Why would calloway say one thing different than the evidence. That doesn't sound right

Anonymous said...

Brad Ahrensfield here; Callaway was dead set and took it personal on prosecuting Comacho for first degree murder, and pushed that case through the DA's office. I was contacted by the DA's prior to the Grand Jury as an expert on Defensive Tactics and in particular Gun Retention. After several meetings and getting my opinion of the case I could tell the Asst DA's were uncomfortable with what the evidence on my end was showing. But Callaway wanted him prosecuted and the case pressed on. But, after a Grand Jury, I testified for the defense in the trial on short notice because they (the prosecution) accidently left me on the witness list and retained a FBI agent from the FBI Academy who couldnt even get qualified as an expert on the stand! I was the only witness for the defense and after i testified the Jury saw the truth and Comacho was acquitted. Long story short Callaway was furious and the next day my transfer from SWAT to the APD Academy was put on hold pending the review of my testimony (which by the way I have never seen done in Fifteen years if its ever been done). But Shultz rules the Department by fear and intimidation, common knowledge. He has a documented history of it! But as most officers who have been on any time know that my history with being ambushed by Callaway goes back more than a decade. Thats another story. Plus Callaway has always been known as a headhunter that's his reputation on the department, and its normally not a big deal unless its your head he's hunting!

Brad either you tipped Bryan off or you didn't. Stop babbling about Camacho. Did you tip off Shawn? If not, who did? Did Darren know about the investigation? Did Kathy? Did the Whites hang out with Shawn and Erika? Did they tailgate, drink or go to Vegas together? That's all anyone cares about. Tell the truth and we will back you. You're either a patsy or a crook. Which is it? 2011 doesn't have to be like 2010 if you're really an honest man.

As an ordinary citizen reading everything and watching, I have to say, "I am truely sorry to live in the world in which we live in today." I am worried for my children and their children and their future(s). There are very few honest people that we can trust to protect us and our rights. We are fighting a losing battle with DRUGS!!! It seems to me that there are too many money hungry people and drugs are the fastest and easiest means of income for our future politicians. The drug cartels have these dirty cops and politicians in their pockets, 'In hopes of grand gestures.' What also scares me is what we are teaching our children; in order to get anything in this world you have to steal, cheat and lie to get what you want and it doesn't matter who you step on to get there. The people who try living a decent honest life are thrown under the bus. It's a wonder why God hasn't laid down his hand. If I were you Mr. Berry, Mr. White and whoever this Peaches is I would take a good hard look at where I want to go after this life; heaven or hell?

What do you mean stop babbling about camacho. I hope to God you are not accused of something you didn't do and you need someone to help you out.

When is a vote of no confidence going to happen

*"When is a vote of no confidence going to happen"*

HAHAHAHAHA!! Yeah, right, like that is EVER going to happen.

Look here, folks. Let me explain how things work in this town:

Your cheif and just about everybody directly under him are corrupt. The local media is under lockdown, and in the complete control of Darren White and TJ Wilhem. Joey Sigala may be your union president, but in title only. Yep, you guessed it...he's under the thumb of the 5th floor, too. Oh, and the FBI? Yeah, that's all been taken care of as well.

Bill O'Reilly isn't going to investigate. CNN isn't coming to town to do an expose. Nobody is going to anything. Period.

So give it up people. Nobody's going to do anything. The people that CAN do something are nothing but a bunch of pussies, and are looking out for themselves. Wake up. This is the way it's going to be. So either get on the bus with the rest of these assholes, or shut the hell up. Nothing is ever going to change, and the sooner you get used to that idea, the better off we'll all be.

Here is a plan that someone suggested. Every officer bring your car to the next city council meeting. Empty your car and bring your key to be placed in the box provided. Officers will then present the box to City Council and Darren White. The cars will be legally parked around the Main and in the underground parking. It is time to speak up.

How about this. Every officer is part of the APOA. When it comes to APOA duties, the officers (ALL) are spineless. They bitch and moan about the APOA Reps and President, when they, the officers do nothing. They sit around with a sense of entitlement and demand others to take the heat for them.

Here is a thought. How about you APOA members getting off your butts and supporting the folks you elected (APOA president etc)? I don't think you have the courage.

when the text come out and they will, the Bryans never were dealing anything it was a setup ploy by 2 apd officers who were screwing white politically by setting up there store. The text were in the days and weeks after the initial allegations that an employee gave a guy a 1/4 bag of weed in his offtime yes a 1/4 bag and that was catapulted into a FBI sting...???...read the transcripts its all there. The Bryans did meet with the FBI since this all started with there house in a private neighborhood in broad daylight being robbed while under sid's survelance...yes that is in the text also naming the sid agents involved, is that a coincidence since this went federal and one of the SID agents is on the FBI task force? Brad was a victim of politics and since the whole scam investigation was blown by there own incompetence they rolled him up instead of just coming clean. KRQE is facing litigation from the Bryans for the stories they ran on them and have been trying to cover this mess up since april. Even this story gets close but is still so far from the truth EYE look into the original investigation and you will find the missing links, look at the original statements made, the dates of survellance and you will start seeing what happend YOU ARE SO CLOSE! There is a reason the FBI would not get the text from Bryans wife....

Brad Ahrensfield here; I've been watching the posts and there is some interesting questions that are out there. I have testified twice and told the whole story at the US attorneys office. My story has never changed, not one bit! I feel that if you the reader want to know I will tell you what happened. But, before I do I will pose some questions to you first.

If Shawn Bryan was really up to any criminal activity why was he not prosecuted?? Why couldn't they run a parallel investigation on Bryan at the same time they were gutting me? They claim that I tipped him off to the FBI doing an investigation of his Bank accounts, drugs, and stolen property! Hmmmm, now lets break this down. If Bryan was guilty why did the investigation stop? I mean, if he was money laudering or doing something like that, there certainly would be Bank records, computer records. Hows Bryan gonna go in and change that? If he had stolen property and he was under surveillance by the elite members of the FBI how do you dispose of that??? The same with the drugs, where's the video???? I havent seen it! Also most of you dont know the arrest of the mechanic still went off and he was interrogated by the FBI for almost four hours and theartened by the FBI to give up Bryan or not be able to see his family!!! He told them Bryan had no idea what was going on and he still went to jail! But, strangely there is no tape of that interview even though Sgt Buckner wanted to tape it (according to his testimony)! Why no tape??? Because acording to the mechanic besides the threats and coercion they told him "LOOK AT YOU AND LOOK AT ME, I WILL PUT ON A SUIT AND TIE AND WHO DO THINK THE JURY WILL BELIEVE"! I dont know about you, but I wouldn't want that on tape either! Then to top it off SA Drew Mccandles shows up with other members of the FBI, and a drug dog at Bryans place of buisness with a fake search warrant that he tries to pass off as legit, until Bryan's attorney shows up reads it and tells Mccandles to leave the property! But Bryan still lets them search his entire property even though he knew the warrant was fake! Now I know some of you are going to say, Well he had immunity! Immunity from what? They didnt have anything, they even testified that the investigation stopped! BULL, they didnt have ANYTHING! Al Capone went to prison for Tax Evasion, if they had something dont you think it would have come out??? The whole immunity thing was the advisement of his attorney at the time, because Bryan didnt want to testify, and the MEDIA made him out to be a crook cause it sounded spicey! Then, in this last trial, against the advisement of his current attorney, he refused immunity much to AUSA Tera Nedas dismay because he couldnt be made to look like a Crook cooperating with the Feds to save his own BUTT! I gonna let you ponder these questions, there will be more coming!

GOOD FOR YOU BRAD I HOPE EVERYTHING WORKS OUT FOR YOU. SO DID THE MECHANIC GET PROSECUTED OR WHAT HAPPEND TO HIM. ALSO YOUR RIGHT YOU CANT FIX HIS PREVIOUS BANK RECORDS AND CELL PHONE RECORDS. I ASSURE YOU SID COMMAND STAFF WAS GETTING EXTRAS FROM BRYANT FOR BUYING ALL THOSE NEW CARS FROM HIM. WONDER WHAT KIND OF NEW CARS HUDSON AND SMITH PURCHASED AT A GOOD PRICE.

New Mexicos truth teller said...

Keep up the good work, I also like how they didnt tell the residents of albuquerque how it will cost alot of money to transfer over to a pool car system, or even how they refer to dallas PD, Denver PD, and several other when justifying the change. what they didnt tell everyone is that those departments also pay their officers way more money then our local police officers, and that We keep losing officers to those departments. lets keep training them, then run them off, so that we save those departments the money of training them. sorry if I went off topic just not happy with this situation.

Good point above. Other departments DO in fact pay more. I would invite this administration to show the public (via the Journal with approval of PIO Commander Wilhelm,) the details of the savings.
The most important thing here is that the public will tire of the lies from Mr. Public Safety, real soon.

Give the local media a break, after all they know where to go and find snow in order to make a story happen. Whenever anyone in the country is in the national spot light, the local media always makes sure we know the New Mexico connection. Like that person once ate a burrito in New Mexico. Who cares channel 4, 7, 13

It doesn't matter how you spell your name. No one will take the time to talk to you, I believe in police work we call it reliability. Funny earlier you put your name on your post and not on this one. Don't forget everyone Young still has several civil lawsuits pending are you safe?
