The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Good Ol’ Boys and Family strikes it Rich! No One Else Need Apply

For those men and women honored with wearing the Albuquerque Police Department’s badge know the challenges the academy takes both mentally and physically. Many officers talk about their days during the academy of running miles, short lunch breaks, defensive tactics, getting maced in the face, and endless writing. But if you are one of the Good Ol’ Boys or a family member of APD’s top command staff, this might be different. The APD Academy is seen by many departments as one of the best academies in law enforcement. In fact, laterals (current police officers) often uproot their families to move to Albuquerque just to join the Police Department.
The lateral police academy usually takes at least 8 weeks of getting the laterals acclimated to the way APD operates. Unfortunately, right now the hiring of laterals is at a freeze. (See @ www.apdonline.com). In fact, a recent call to the APD Academy confirmed this current freeze. An APD academy staff member stated that the interest card would be kept on file but the City is not hiring any laterals and there is no time frame as to when they would. Here’s a perplexing question, why is there a “lateral police officer” in a Civilian PTU (Prisoner Transportation Unit) Class?

Our Eyes through other sources, have told us that this lateral has not been in law enforcement for over 8 years. This lateral left the APD shortly after graduating from the academy, for military duty and then chose to live the last several years as a civilian. None of this lateral’s certifications were maintained, no firearms qualifications were maintained, nothing. So why is this person allowed to enter the department while going through a civilian academy? Wasn’t it Darren White who criticized the department in one of the last police involved shootings, crying that the department needed more training? So why is this person allowed to be an exception? Our eyes have told us the answer is simple, it’s called “family.” The person, who is male, is currently in the Prisoner Transport Academy and is supposedly related to Deputy Chief Allan Banks (yes, the same deputy chief in charge of the academy).

Our Eyes spoke to recruiters who stated this action is unheard of, but not surprising. There is no talk right now as to when the lateral hiring will commence, it is in fact, on a hiring freeze. Regardless of past training, laterals would be considered laterals only if they were coming in from another law enforcement agency. Especially when you are talking about a cadet that served very little time in the department to begin with. Regardless of state standards in reference to training, APD has never sent a lateral to a civilian training course in order to become a sworn police officer. We need to ask Darren White, does the department really need more training, or is it now acceptable that officers just need a “civilian” course taught by and attended by civilians to be a fully commissioned officer?

Maybe this is why Commander Cafferky told Banks he was a liar and walked out.

What does White know about being an officer? White has no LE experience, that's all he did was sing in a band while at APD. After that, he was given a choice job at the state based on his political connections. There he was given a vote of no confidence, go figure, the guy has no supervisory experience, but is now in charge of the State Police. Next, the guy is Sheriff, again, no experience in management. However, at this post he was never there, to busy running for office. In this case the Chief Deputy ran the entire Sheriff's Dept for him the entire 7 years he was not there. Sal was off with his Navy stuff. Next he goes back to APD, again with no management exp. Guess what, another vote of no confidence. The guy just has the gift of gab and tells everyone what they want to here. Well, dispite all the things he has done he can always talk his way out. The only way to get rid of him is to vote him out!

BANKS IS A BACKSTABBER. WHY IS ANYONE SURPRISED ABOUT THE ARTICLE OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT HAPPENS AT APD. BANKS IS JUST LIKE SCHULTZ THEY ALL ARE GOOD OL BOYZ. SO WILL THE NEXT COMMANDERS BE GOOD OL BOYZ WITH SHI* ON THEIR LIPS, TONGUE, NOSE.

Here is another story.

APD has had a lot of good applicants for the prisoner transport unit, but the goof balls in polygraph keep removing applicants. They don't have any proof of lies. All they say is the applicant tried to manipulate the polygraph, bam out of the process. Unbelievable. I know several good military people who are taught to control their breathing in stressful situations, and Mark and Christine get rid of them for that. Polygraph isn't even accepted in courts!!! Why do we have it in the hiring process? Then look at the history of both of these folks and you have to wonder if they would pass a polygraph.

Because Prisoner Transport doesn't have enough officers they are having to pay regular APD officers OVERTIME to fill in. So instead of hiring a Prisoner Transport officer at $19/hour, we are paying an off duty APD officer $38/hour to do the same job.

Wow that is how I would run my business (Hope your reading this mayor berry). APD needs to totally review and revise their recruiting section. Get rid of polygraph and get rid of the burned out people in recruiting and backgrounds. Either that or hire a private company to do it. We are losing too many good applicants to stupidity.

Of course polygraph passed Levi and many other APD officers who have since been fired for conduct. Guess the proof is in the pudding.

VOTE him out? How do you do that?
He wasn't elected, he was given the job in exchange for political endorsement of our mayor (figure head) Indeed THIS mayor has unofficially turned over the city to this imbecile. So, you have to vote out Berry. For the sake of all of the citizens and the men and women in blue, lets hope he is NOT STILL HERE until the next mayoral election.

I just love how our top management either in City or County government can get paid handsomely to do a job, and put in the minimum of time in a normal work day only to run around campaigning or other hobbies.
The taxpayers are getting ripped off by all of these un-necessary positions. Darren, his secretary, Sal (what does he do?) TJ ( what the HELL is that all about) and multiple others that insulate this mayor from answering questions directly.
He has surrounded himself with layers of 'bullshit ' artists that haven't the experience to run this city. Outside of singing, driving a cab, the only qualifications either Darren or TJ possess is that of a pastry chef at ABC bakery. As in years ago, it's time for Darren and his sidekick TJ to take a trip and see who they can help along the banks of the flooding Mississippi. It will be good OJT for TJ in his new "God only knows" position.

Nepotism at its best. When this guy gets involved in some shooting, justified or not, all this is going to do is give the defense lawyer a big fat opening to sue the city, AGAIN. Taxpayers will pay out the ass and the three stooges will go about their business. Karma will have her way though, trust me.

if this story is in fact true its a disgrace to the department and should be investigated further.

What model of polygraph does APD use? Is it even up to date?

A.P.D. is the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you ALLEN BANKS. Another soul .

Hiring a private company -- NO.

The entire way we recruit is wacko. The polygraphers have way to much authority. And they are marginal at best. The guy in Polygraph is about as burned out as your will ever see. All he did at my test was bitch and complain about the department, then he turned on his computer and watched the news, real professional. I passed, but I was surprised that APD would have such a burned out, rude detective in this type of position. I am positive he has run off many good applicants, only because he is rude and not a very good polygrapher. My two cents.

Hey EYE do a better job at intel gathering. The officer your refering to was here working the streets for five years, left for FIVE years, then reapplied as a cadet recently.

The dept realized he was still certified because the certs last EIGHT years out of service. Why send him to a full academy when hes already certified? All he needs is some re-training to get up to date. Thats more more training than some guys with 20+ years get in their regular day to day dealings.

How come no one made a big deal about the LAPD lateral on the department who is in the same exact situation? hmmm sounds like its just an anti Banks issue?

Mark was burned out 15 years ago but he does what the chief tells him to. Why do you think some people pass and some don't. He is one of the boys. Oh yea and a double dipper. He is a horrible tester no one in "Polygraph" world has respect for him and that transfers to APD. He is a joke.

Anonymous said...

APD continues to show itself as a "joke".

Anonymous said...

To the poster who said NO to hiring a private company, WHY NOT?

A private company would fire Mark for his attitude, and would probably question the history of the other polygrapher. The private sector is accountable. How many people at APD are accountable for their actions and attitudes? Just look at the infidelity, does it ever harm anyones career at APD? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Anonymous said...

Is Darren back from Pakistan yet?

Anonymous said...

to top it off, they are sending him to santa fe to complete his certifications. WOW look how much they are spending just on him. Question, will he receive the pay that lateral officers make?

Anonymous said...

As I stated in my other comment, Mark was totally unprofessional at my polygraph. I didn't know he was a rehire. I would think he would be happy to double dip, but you wouldn't know it by the way the spoke to me during my test. The chief won't change anything, but he should.

Our Polygraph Unit and Background investigators did a great job hiring Levi Chavez! Will anyone from the Chief on down accept any responsibility for his hiring? Look at todays Journal (May 15, 2011). If the Journal could find this information out, why couldn't APD? Because most of them are burned out and not doing their jobs!

lateral applicants : GET A LAWYER !

Is there anyone at APD in the Detective branch or the Command Staff that is ever held accountable for anything? O'Connell (Levi Chavez), Background and Polygraph (Levi Chavez and others), SID command staff (Dave Young), etc etc etc. Where does the buck ever stop at APD? Certainly not with Schultz!

Anonymous said...

Of course the buck never stops we just keep giving. Just think of all the sgt positions where schultz places his own people. I can think of 2. The troll barboa in violent crimes after his wife shot at him and no ia or investigation what so ever. And heckroth right after he was promoted on probation went to cold case or auto theft? Sullivan promoted street gangs if he took burglary now waiting on retirements for that back room deal to happen. that is how corruption starts.

Eye,

How about doing a story and telling the public how much money APD has paid out in all lawsuits since Schultz was a Deputy Chief and Chief? It must be in the tens of millions. That would be an EYE opening story indeed.

....or how 'bout all the court fines imposed upon that worthless attorney Kathy Levy for her lies and incompetence?

How come no one made a big deal about the LAPD lateral on the department who is in the same exact situation? hmmm sounds like its just an anti Banks issue

Hmmm probably because the LAPD guy was currently working as a POLICE OFFICER and Bank's cousin has not been a cop in 5 years! Does that make sense now? Hard to be a lateral when you are not even working as a cop..

ah yes my little, and i do mean little, troll barboa. he's a real piece of work. there are plenty of men and women at work at apd that don't belong there. divorce and apd: a marriage made in heaven.
