The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Schultz and Company take Junket While Ship goes Under

Not satisfied with restoring order in their own community and achieving the confidence of the very citizens they serve and the officers they employ, our Eyes tell us the entire 5th Floor went on a taxpayer funded jaunt to San Diego. All the deputy chiefs, Chief Schultz, and APD HR czar and stairwell stalker Karen Salazar spent the last few days in San Diego at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference. Instead of focusing on the endless issues plaguing their very own department, the fearless leaders of APD and their cohorts received one of the 2012 IACP/Motorola Webber Seavey Awards. In issuing the award, organizers of the IACP stated:

"This award is presented annually to agencies and departments worldwide in recognition of excellence in police work. Focusing on strengthening community relations, communications and promoting overall law enforcement, this year's winners are once again prime examples of effective law enforcement community programs to be emulated by their public safety peers around the world."

In accepting the award, Chief Schutz went on his usual script of falsifications where he uses technology (that doesn't work or is not operational) and cooperates (co opts) with the private sector to achieve success. In other words, if not for his actions, there would have been fatalities at the NM State Fair parade a few weeks ago.

We at the Eye find this hugely ironic. Given Chief Schultz has driven APD into the ground where there are fewer field officers on the street than there were twenty years ago, all but the most inexperienced senior officers remain, endless 1983 lawsuits march forward, its leadership is mired in allegations of destroying evidence, hiding reports, and defying court orders from numerous high-profile incidents, and virtual total distrust from citizens in its jurisdiction, we can hardly swallow the idea of Chief Schultz, DCOP Feist, Banks, Warfield and others receiving an award recognized for excellence or "strengthening community relations."

In fact, we think the IACP's first president, Washington DC police Chief Richard Sylvester would even believe it and perhaps has rolled in his grave. Chief Sylvester was credited for advocating a citizen-soldier model, and was responsible for development of the many paramilitary aspects of policing. Something that APD has abandoned with their "student" training model at the their once nationally recognized academy. Given Chief Schultz's propensity for, in the best of light, misrepresenting information and events, or in reality, lying, we wonder what data was provided to the IACP to defraud them to assign this award to APD's commanding officers...

But as the Chief's assistant, Mayor Berry stated, "This recognition reaffirms what we have been saying all along….We have one of the best law enforcement agencies in the country." That being said, then please tell us Mr. Mayor, why are things in such failure and a virtual crisis?

What a Joke the 5th Floor has become & our so called Mayor Berry!!!!! You all have driven APD into the ground & you continue to tout that it is one of the best in the Country?? Seriously?

At this point it appears that the only way to have the Chief removed is to rmeove the Mayor.
Why he ever listened to Darren is beyond comprehension. Not only is he buying into White he is being led by J. McClusky(sp).

Perhaps we need the National Guard to thake the helm.

So no one at the IACP checks the facts before giving an award? Ray can fabricate the message and receive and award when APD is right behind New Orleans as far as the DoJ is concerned. WOW, you would think the Journal was running the IACP!

No I didn't have time to start my video camera, I was too busy kicking the handcuffed public in the teeth and having celebratory belly bumps and high fives.

Was there massive amounts of intoxicating liquor being served and comsumed by the I.A.C.P. board ? only way this ever happened. Just asking.

Why are our tax dollars wasted on sending the entire 5th floor and civilians to San Diego? Our city is broke, officers can't get money for out of town training, contracts have not been signed in years, and our Chief and his entire staff take a vacation in San Diego on our dime.

And here I thought Mayor Berry was going to be such a great steward of our money. What a joke.

Please Journal, KOB, KRQE, KOAT please do a public records request and tell the citizens just how much this cost the citizens of Albuquerque. Please include salaries in your figure as I know these people did not take vacation to go. We need to know the names of everyone who went to San Diego, the reason why each person went and the total cost.

IACP tainted by APD's falsehoods. If the Unit deserved an award why was no one from the Unit there to receive it, not even their Commander.

Tillman, you are better served keeping your mouth shut. Take your medicine and move on. Playing the race card is weak esp since you didn't get fired.

This is disgraceful. I will be writing a letter to the IACP tomorrow. They need to know about the corruption here. Alot of departments across this nation are having similar problems with their chiefs. This organization is probably their brotherhood where they learn this miscreant behavior. And why was Salazar taken along for thes trip. That is total bullshit. WTF does a civilian need to attend that function for? She hates 34s. If you ever had to deal with her you would know her disdain for officers. Nothing like a free party. I wonder how many cocktails were consumed on teh city dime?

About Jeff Proctor's article in the Journal about the audit. The members want to speak out and at no time did the SP Investigation was mentioned as to why the audit had to be kept private. It was clear that money was embezelled and it was large amounts. Joey is no longer employeed and Flip is on the Sgt's list. What are they going to do promote Flip then fire him if charges are filed? The APOA can't elect to "drop charges" against Flip without a membership vote. The State Police invesigation will not be confidential like the APOA audit. Weber makes us look like we are hiding something which we are not.

That was a unit award that the clowns running things here will exaggerate to include themselves in. What a pathetic disgrace. The ones who did all the work weren't even there. Just like these shameless creeps to take credit for the hard work of officers.
If they're not using the officers, they are using the officers.

I don't think Salazar hates every 34,,,,,,............. Rumor is she has love for at least one.

11:01.....try getting your facts right dickhead. Blume was NOT handcuffed and that little perversion of a cop checking on his cover officer is stupid and old.

The 107th class of peace and love has graduated and the chief states the below to news 13:

"What we're seeing right now is kind of a shortage of good-quality candidates," Schultz said. "It's not only being experienced by our department but by other police departments as well."

Nothing but more bullshit spin.
No other departments are experiencing shortages.
Experienced veteran officers are leaving APD in droves disgusted at Ray Schultz and what he has done to the Albuquerque Police Department. People are getting the hell out for a reason. Everything is filthy right now, and it won't change until a new mayor comes in and cleans house. That means firing the entire 5th floor, and replacing them with qualified individuals. It also means getting rid of a whole hell of alot of commanders also. Until this happens, we all have to listen to someone who lies every time he opens his mouth.

So when the cadet classes of about 11 were graduating in 2008 and 2009, was APD also having very select admission processes?

As the above poster said SPIN SPIN SPIN. Like a friggn washing machine. But worse, Schultz and Berry pie aint using Tide, they're using Dissolve. As in Dissolve this department. Funny how Berry skips out on all the other graduations since he's been "mayor."

Good luck to the new breed of "Beauty Rim" cops....you'll need it. So glad my time is short.

Schultz comments about the new officers basically is saying all of us officers currently on are the problem. Oh yeah who hired us? Ray Schultz. But he never takes responsiblity he just points fingers at everyone else. Hey news media, since Ray Schultz doesn't do exit interviews with retiring officers, the media should. You would get an entirely different view of APD lack of command staff, all you have to do is ask the officers who retired this year, or are retiring at the end of the year. Do you want to know the truth about APD?

The 107 graduatiion was held at the African American cultural center. Gee no spin there. I hear the 108 class of 6 officer's is going to be held at the ACLU conference room.

More importantly, I'd like to know where the ceremony for Schultzs termination will be? US Federal court hopefully.

EVERY TIME SOMEONE OPENS THEIR MOUTH IT'S LIKE LIES STRAIT FROM THE PIT OF HELL. ONE GUESS WHO.

Way to fuck up the balloon fiesta Dodi. Not only do you call the thing off prematurely but an officer gets gravely hurt because of your inability to do anything right.

Anonymous said...

Looks like this years balloon fiesta is a real hit. An officer injured, no balloons in the air, festivities called off early. Great job Schultz. Everything this guy touches turns to crap, then they try to guild that turd in gold and serve it up to the people. Just like his interview about the new officers and how he publicly slapped every veteran officer with APD now right in the face with his insulting comments about how his new cuddle bears are better than the rest because they are loving caring tender souls.
The training these officers is getting and the oficers picked are a liability. What gets done now affects things down the road. APD will continually get worse off as the crime rate climbs. Schults can continue to spew the spin, but if you talk with people out there, the truth stands. Nobody wants to work for the people running APD. I constantly hear the word dirty being said by people. One person told me that they would never apply for APD. It is not a lack of qualified applicants. It is a lack of willing subjects. In typical fashion, the big arrogant mouth of Schultz paints all opposition or differing opinion as disgruntled or not good enough. Well, we all know who the failure is here. A police chief who flip flops with the wind, says one thing today and another tomorrow, a civil rights violator, and a fraud who loves to steal the limelight from well deserving officers. That's right ray, a true leaader would have sent those officers who did the hard work to get an award, rather than take you and your cronies for a road trip party at the tax payer's expense to the IACP convention. When you see the pettiness, greed, selfishness, narcissism, and dishonor being carried out by these people it is no wonder why APD is in the position it is in now.
You can also tell someone who knows they have done nothing by the attention they seek.

Anonymous said...

No investigation on the evidence room. Good police work Schultz you have the video in front of you and you screw that up. Afraid of a lil more bad news?

Whats up with the female from ID getting the FET spot when she wasn't qualified. Maybe LT Guenther who got her an interview will get a date? Other individuals who applied for the positio who were qualified and did not get filed complaints. What is going to happen on that. LT gets a bj??

Anonymous said...

I can answer the question Schultz has about why more people aren't applying for APD. It is because retired and current officers are telling them Schultz and the entire command staff are corrupt and to go elsewhere. In the past you had generations of APD officers coming on board. Now you have them going to different departments. Every single officer, retired or working, that I talked to has said they do not recommend APD to any applicant. Good job Ray! Your corruption has taken this department to new lows.

TO: ROB PERRY

There are quality applicants just that Schultz and Recruiting are playing games with them. You are now requiring college hours and you need to act professional and stop with your games that you are playing. I know Perry can't do everything for APD although he is trying. You need to take a look at all the applicants and see why people who are qualified are being told no. You will be shocked.

There are females applying but we all know how Schultz feels about females. He does not like them.

Anonymous said...

If an applicant makes it to Chiefs selection they should be allowed to the Academy. Chiefs selection is all political and not fair to anyone. It will take one of us being killed on the street for things to change. If it happens, that family better sue the crap out of Schultz. Did you see his comments that a smaller class gives one on one attention. He needs to take his cash out and leave before he starts to help out on field calls that are stacking since he is "an active chief."

Anonymous said...

Schultz is an embarrassment to every officer who took the job to be a cop and put criminals away. Sorry, but being a social worker is best left to those that work at CYFD. I have trained for many years to protect my co-workers, citizens, and myself from the harm that can be done by violent criminals. I have trained so that I can make it home to my family and so that I can make sure other officers can do the same. Now some idiot with an agenda who has to interject "PERF" into every statement he gives, insults an entire department with his bullshit. This dog and pony show will only get everyone hurt, but who the hell cares because this asshole will be long gone. Isn't that right, Mr. when the lawsuit hit's, I'll be long gone. How everyone lets this bold faced liar talk his way out of everything like it never happened amazes me.
When this asshat is nothing but a civilian collecting an undeserved pension on the backs of everyone he screwed over to get it everyone will be better off.
Anything and I mean anything is an improvement over the vile excuse for a police chief that has ruined the entire city of Albuquerque. A total shit stain on the boot heal of society.

Anonymous said...

@10:56 is totally true. Unless you're part of the corrupt regime in which case a commander's wife, like the commander who's covering for Lt. Lopez, will walk right through and on. Probably to day shift as well.

11 new officers is an indictment against the Dept. They can't even staff an academy class to a respectable number.

Are the new Love Academy graduates, no fault of their own, going to be at odds with the policing methods employeed by the older and majority of officers?

Now the chief is going to use "creative staffing" another name for I don't have enough officers for a safe Albuquerque.

When I retire and no longer have the burden of my stars I will really bring all of you up to speed.

Anonymous said...

68% graduation rate, start with 16 and end up with 11 officers, come on chief is the Love Academy not a happy place?

Anonymous said...

68% graduation rate!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhahahahahhahahahah!
Yea, they're really qualified.
They'll shit their pants when they run up against a hardened criminal and these bunch of buttercups will probably shoot more people than ever before. Bang! Oops...Was that me? Sound familiar Ray?

Anonymous said...

The "Love Academy" holy shit that is fkn funny. With people like "love and excellence" Rowe and "I know nothing" Schultz, we're gonna have some lovely stupid fools becoming cops.

Anonymous said...

@9:52 If you applied for that FET job you should complain and demand they fix the mess. You can't get an interview without it coming from HR, that's bullshit. The person hired has only been a bartender before working in ID and that doesn't make her qualified. But we all know it's who you blow that gets you in.

Anonymous said...

There is a lot of good applicants being turned away. They don't want anyone with any kind of knowledge or experience in real police work. My friend was a previous state police officer but didn't get in. If ur a family member of a suck up you will be just fine you will make it through the process with flying colors...isnt that right Conrad?!

Anonymous said...

Really the stuck up girl in ID that wears a wig? I guess even when you look like a 12 year old boy you can still get around the block

Anonymous said...

So it looks like the "Love Academy" isn't taking any Hispanic Females is it? Just white males.....hmmmm sounds like discrimination to me. Anyone recommend a good attorney for this?

Anonymous said...

Come on there are good candidates applying, I know several who have been turned down and they have really good experience and I'm not talking about social work either. We need good people out there. Get rid of your worthless psych evaluators and your suck up polygraph people, your lazy recruiters and get some real hard working people in there to get these classes going. What the hell is wrong with you people. Oh and hire some women, don't be afraid just because they have bigger balls that you.

Anonymous said...

What's it gonna take for this department to get a clue? Start hiring people based on merit not this crap of bj's and who you know. There's deserving people out there. All the worthless people who get hired on a favor always end up being the worst employees.

Anonymous said...

11:42,
One solution. Why worry about hundreds when all you have to do is fire Ray Schultz and his deputies, along with the city attorney, and a few people working for the mayor. That is a handful of people versus hundreds. More people suffer because of a few worthless creeps at high levels. These scum bags need to go. If not real soon, they are only an election away from being thrown out.

Anonymous said...

@6:20...exactly. But that's how these bozos think. Go ahead and sue me they say. No sense of service just entitlement. Total stain on the badge we wear.

Anonymous said...

Who ever came up with the LOVE ACADEMY bless him/her. God help these new guys cause the gangbangers will screw with them as will every drunk, jerk and grade schooler. You need brass ones even if they are inside you to be a good cop.

TRANSPARENCY:
How much did this trip to the Cheif's of police ball cost the city? How much did this trip to send a bunch of liars to another town for an award, to dine in 5 star restaurants and stay in top of the line hotels to receive an award that detectives should have received cost? How much captain forehead? How much Mr. scarecrow? How much Dr. Phil?
The citizens don't give a shit about 20 years worth of restaurant compliance records. They want to know where their money is going. It shouldn't be going to someone who didn't do shit to get something for what they didn't do! No wonder why sissies strive to reach the top ranks of APD. You can be a criminal and get rewards for it.
