The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. First Quasi Debate for Mayoral Race

The New Mexico Business Coalition has set the stage for the first "quasi" mayoral debate.  The reason we call it "quasi" is because all three candidate's will be INTERVIEWED and QUESTIONED separately at separate times.  We all know the reason for this; Berry knows Dinelli and Heh would rip him apart on his (Berry's') terrible record. Does the word coward come to mind?

The Choice is simple; you decide...

In order to make this platform fair to all candidates certain things must be ensured:

1.The incumbent mayor goes first and has no prior knowledge of the topics or questions that will be asked

2.Subsequent interviews or candidates must take place immediately following the previous candidates responses are obtained

3.The answers given by candidates must be kept sealed until all have had an opportunity to answer, then all responses are revealed publicly side-by-side for comparison

But this is Berry we are talking about. Instead, the sequence will go as follows:

1.Berry’s camp will “somehow” be privy to the topics and questions that will be asked

2.Berry will defer to his completion as a show of “sportsmanship” by going last, Heh and Dinelli will jump at the opportunity since neither are afraid of confrontation and are eager to “throw a punch”

3.The responses given by Heh and Dinelli will be leaked to Berry’s camp, and a considerable amount of time will be given for Berry’s responses to be scripted so that he appears solid on the issues and the best person for the job

Berry is a puppet politician and a coward. The only thing transparent about Berry is Berry himself. We see right through Berry, and he's spineless…

If given the choice of these 3 photos I would pick Dinelli. Heh is wearing a KGB issue leather jacket and Berry is portrayed as Hitler? Berry is a complete moron, but comparing him to Hitler is over the top.....and insulting to what people suffered under Hitler.

Heh needs to step uo his game as most people in the city I talk to don't know him or don't feel he knows enough to govern. Funny thing is Berry doesn't know much either and is already the current Mayor.

Most people in the community are not displeased with Berry and the polls show that. That's too bad, because the police department and rest of the city administraion will suffer if he stays.

There isn't any chance for change until people are displeased or impacted themselves. They see th epolice department in trouble, but if it isn't at their door or in their frontyard it is easy to not care as much.

At what point are the people of Albuquerque going to call out Berry and Schultz on their lies? Yes it’s true that polls would indicate that our citizens are not displeased with Berry’s performance, but would their sentiment change if they were presented with truth rather than creative spins on what is really going on in Albuquerque? For instance, what is the city’s actual crime data (not the diluted FBI crime stats)? Yes, for all our citizens, and especially our citizen victims, would you be surprised that your residential burglary (felony) is represented as a criminal damage, criminals trespass, and larceny <$500 (all misdemeanors). And your robbery (felony), that is more so an assault paired with a larceny <$500 (both misdemeanors). There’s lots of misleading that goes on that our transparent mayor and chief. How about violent crimes such as shooting, stabbings, and rapes where there is no one in custody and no suspect information? Would our citizens believe that these cases are that of simple assault that of simple battery? And why is that? It is because the misdemeanors do not factor into the actual crime rate. And if there were a lot of “open” felony investigations it would be well known by everyone that our crime here in Albuquerque is way out of control. Besides, when our fine officers/detectives do manage to get a lead and make an arrest on an “open” case, those downplayed charges can always be amended to the appropriate felony charge. This may not seem like a big deal to many, but the reality is that this kind of fact-fudging directly correlates with federal monies that our awarded to APD for equipment and recruiting. That hurts all of us, APD employees and the public alike. But what it also does is bolster the resumes of the likes of Berry and Schultz. They win because the “lowered crime rate” equates to political advancement. But, the loss of those federal monies means that the financial burden gets shifted to our citizens to equip and recruit. Yes, increased taxes. And for the officers themselves, they must deal with failing equipment and limited resources and back-up on the streets.

The news this morning had a crisis story about APD staffing as a result of new PERA legislation that is now in effect. And there was Schultz putting his spin on the issue as well and projecting himself as the “victim chief.” He had the look of being blindsided by this issue when in reality this issue was brought to the attention of both Schultz and Berry at least three years ago, yet they did absolutely nothing about recruitment and retention. In fact, the administration allocated less money to recruiting, reduced academy classes, and eliminated retention bonuses for senior officers. Even when many knew that this crisis was inevitable, Berry and Schultz called the warnings “fear tactics” and “bluffs” and assured our citizens that officers would not retire in mass as they currently are. And here we are today with ~800 officers staffing APD and a metropolitan area of ~1,000,000 people and with crime at an “actual” all-time high. As opposed to the early 1990’s where there was half the population, yet considerably more police officers on staff. The story included a report of the resignation of senior re-hire officers as well (Do our citizens know that ~20 percent of APD staffing is re-hires, what if they all leave?).

The mismanagement by Berry and Schultz has led to a crisis that they must be held accountable for.

"held accountable for"!!!!!!?????
They should be prosecuted federally for it.

Did ya'll hear about how Joanna Hammonds and Karen Fisher have been rehired by APD on contract so they can receive their pensions and their COLA'S. But the really hard working rehired CSA'S and others where not given any type of offers to stay. APD is shooting themselves in the foot with each passing day. Before the year is up the department will be down to 700.

That is most likely because the names mentioned provide services not specifically mentioned in their job descriptions. This is pathetic, and typical of APD...

Hahaha....
You got that right!
Outstanding! LOFL!

@7:26 Job descriptions?? More like b**w job descriptions. Does anyone know what exactly JH and KFC did for the department during their tenure? When a voice message was left with either one of them it was never returned..

Yep. Not one single call returned and just try to find one of them in person at the main when you need something done. No accountability at all.
