The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Conflict of Interest Confirmed

As many people know, Nate Korn is the "citizen at large" member of the state's Law Enforcement Academy Board. It is this board that decides to institute a wide range of things including whether to take a police officer/deputy's certification to the recent reduction in required training in order to get that certification.

This past September the board held its monthly meeting at APD's police academy just behind the Valley Substation at 2nd/Montano NW. Our Eyes recently forwarded us the following remarks that were made at what was Ray Schultz's last meeting as he was the board member representing city police departments in the state:

MR. KORN: "I would like to add my comments. It's true, as Mr. Barncastle has said, that Chief Schultz has been a mentor and a friend to all of us on the Board. I'd like to share with the people that are assembled a quick story about the way our Board would operate when we get in closed session. We talk about cases. We are almost always unanimous in our cases. Some cases are a little simpler than others for us to come to a quick conclusion. Other cases we have to sit over and battle through the facts and really think it through. And on those times when we're trying to battle and figure out how the case resolution should be fairest, frequently what would happen is all of us would give our comments. And Chief Schultz would be the last to talk. And then, when he would finally speak, it would be like EF Hutton. Everybody was quiet and we listened to what he said on these difficult cases fell into two grounds. One was he would find something that was so obvious that we missed that made all the difference in the world. And then it was like a light bulb coming on and we're all going on how come we didn't think of that. It was just very brilliant and it was there all along. And the other one would be where his years of institutional knowledge, either on this Board or at APD, came to bear. And he would take complex cases and help us understand how to best simplify them for the law and the facts. So that was something that I think all of us benefited from. And I know I certainly learned so much from the chief. And his presence will be missed. We wish him the best of luck in the future."

Aside from what is obviously and clearly patronizing praise, did Mr. Korn bother to reveal his vested business interests with Mr. Schultz's department? As we all know, Kaufman's West holds many city contracts with the police department. Including most recently the replacement of all of the soft armor vests issued to APD personnel....  And in the context of DOJ coming to town and pouring through APD's records, is this statement by Mr. Korn not simply, well, bizarre?

WOW, I am really glad I had high boots on when I read Mr. Korn's patronizing crock of BS and lies he dished out with that statement.

Amazing that such a wise(ass) man leaves chaos in his wake wherever he goes. And of note is the lack of any mention of the DOJ investigation and the ramifications of that on the board.

Kind is too busy kissing Ray' s ass to bring up something they all want to ignore and sugar coat. They're performing for the DOJ. Putting up smokescreens so these highly intelligent, trained Federales will be convinced that everything in the City of Albuquerque and it's shitty leaders are just dandy! Nothing to see here...move along...move along...

Sounds like a transcript from a meeting of the Chinese Communist Party. What fascist crap! The corruption just goes on and on and on...

I've heard,,,,,and who really knows,,,,,that in all of the years Nate was on the LE board he never - not once - disagreed with anything that Ray Ray had to say. In other words, as noted above, kissed Ray's lily white ass to be sure that he kept those high dollar APD contracts. Go figure.

THE ANTI-EYE SAYS:

Come on Eye, don't write stories just to write stories. I know you won't have to wait long, these clowns will give you something good here soon. Ya Nate was doing some Ass Kissing, but I don't think it's news worthy. Come on man, step up your game.

Sounds like a typical send off at any going away meeting. Not worth spending any time on. Certainly not newsworthy or an admission of a conflict of interest.

Actually this is really interesting. Here we have the chief of the largest department in the state that employees essentially 1/5 of all officers in the state. If there's anybody who should know how to discipline officers fairly and justly it should be this clown. I mean, lets be real, it is NM and we have some dumbfuks in and running our department. So given that, still Schultz drives the department in the ground because he plays so many games of favoritism. And we all know there's nothing he doesn't know about his department. So what does Korn do, nah don't worry about the DOJ gorilla in the room, the $55Million in lawsuits, the floundering personnel issues, the chief's chick on the side, the civil rights violations he's been found guilty on....we're just gonna lick his ass. Yeah, when Schultz speaks, we all listen because we can't believe the shit that comes out of his mouth.....toodles.....

I'd really like it if the Eye would videotape the city council meetings. I heard the unions and fed up employees gave the City Council an earfull last night. Hope it shows up on YouTube.

Beware Berry is goingt o keep Ray in some capacity.

City counsil meetings are on cable. All anybody needs to do is watch and record. I stopped watching because all the talk coming out of the council's mouths is BS and condescending to the public.

Nothing earthshaking or even interesting here. "Conflict of interest" translates to "Business as usual" in this State. "Kissing ass" (if you get something you want out of it) is considered a "talent". Did no one read the words of wisdom posted by (Ray; LDH; Cheech & Chong - you choose)on a previous post, informing everyone that "we do things different here"? That's just part of being "different".

The title of your story "Conflict of Interest" is the elephant in the room = APD "policing" the city with the highest gang members per capita IS the "conflict of interest". Bad joke.
Watch KRQE timid news story on the gang problem here-duh !
If anyone in NM really wanted to stop the gang/drug/cop situation they would interfere with the routes that bring it all through here ( I-25 & I-40) and stop protecting the flow !!!! But it is obvious even the Feds don't care.
Take Back Your City !

Does anybody recall seeing Schultz at the NRA event in September?

So this is the end, beautiful friend, the end.Sorry Jim Morrison.Seriously, there is so much more going on politically in this city government than Nate Korn and APD. I have to end my readership with you all. It's not WOW anymore. It's lame stories about Nate Korn saying goodbye to Ray. Who fucking cares? I care about the union busting, the nepotism of Perry and Berry, the illegal bidding process, Berry' s order to management to start turning up the heat on employees covered by a 4 year old contract, the taking away of 15 minute breaks, timesheet fraud, lying managers and disparate treatment of employees covered by bargaining units. There's nothing fascinating about APD anymore, sorry, the thrill is gone. There's more interesting scenarios in other departments now like Animal Welfare, cultural services and most of all Transit...where every day some one (usually the poor drivers) is hurt, spit on, degraded daily(like the library workers) and not a soul stands up for them. Nobody has their backs.these are the real stories behind the "city logo" not the badge.

And where are the accollades for the "learning experience" the State Police had in Taos? Five kids in the van and this mentally challenged Rambo starts "shooting at the tires" when it drives away. That'll teach those bozos not to borrow a cop from APD when one of their own calls in sick.

STHU and move along, you don't contribute one iota of anything. We don't care if you stop coming to this site, since your one of Berry's dingleberries.

What ia case does every1 think doj is looking at.

Anonymous said...

They are looking at all of the IA cases and the dirty they stop under the rug or the 34s they screw over, all at the direction of the 5th floor. IA is basically the administration in disguise. Protect the dirty and screw over the innocent and offer them up as sacrificial lambs. They don't believe in protecting everyone's rights. I hope the DOJ burns all of them and shows how much they have violated people's civil rights, and their lack of professional integrity!!!

Anonymous said...

I wish the DOJ would go after the rest of the city...it's all dirty politics.

Anonymous said...

People are talking and what they have been saying is incriminating.

IA is filthy said...

They are not just talking. IA investigators are lying in sworn testimony. The DOJ wrecking ball is going to stretch them all out.

Brad (and Martha Stewart) can tell you what happens when you lie to the Feds. The punishment for that is worse than what they are investigating you for....WATCH YOUR 6 FLOOR 11..
