The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. ABQ, APD, Leftovers, and Betatesters...

Shame on the local rag and our dwindling talk radio. Hey KKOB-770, you're losing listeners...failed business model just like Berry/Perry.

Your loveable Eye has been very damning of our local media over the years as they ignore stories of local government corruption.  In the past it seemed that the local media was drunk on the Berry flavored Kool-Aid that the current administration has poured for them since 2009.

It seems Richard Berry’s Kool-Aid stand isn’t pouring the juice for our local TV stations any longer.  The Eye would like to say “Thanks” to KOB, KRQE and KOAT for coming out with some truly hard hitting stories over the last ninety days.  The local TV media is exposing corruption and inept leadership at all levels in Berry’s administration, Thank you!  This is what the media in a democracy does.  This is why Berry can’t stand the heat and Eden no longer appears on camera.  They can’t take the hard hitting questions about the corruption in their administration. And these are supposed to be our finest? So the Eye would like to say “Thanks” job well done to some recent stories that these three reporters have done. The Eye hopes the readers follow these links and watch / read these stories.  The truth of the train wreck of the Richard Berry administration is being exposed.  Watch and get involved, call your city council and Berry and demand answers.

The Eye must call out the Journal Editorial Board and 770 KKOB for still drinking the Berry Kool-Aid and ignoring the mess Albuquerque has become.

Bob Clark on 770 KKOB told a caller this week that he was not familiar with the area where the two homeless were murdered.  Well Bob should make it a point to go there, get out of his car and speak to the homeless.  The homeless are not the type of people that listen to his show, but if he is going to have a conversation about them he should educate himself.  The Journal Editorial Board continues to run interference for Berry.  They point fingers at the APOA and others but never at their mayor who they support.  The Eye would love to see a one sentence Editorial from the Journal:

“Berry has been here since 2009, Albuquerque’s economy and APD’s mess is his fault”.

It will never happen.

The owners of the Journal are hardcore right wing conservatives and they will never tell the public the truth.  Albuquerque needs another newspaper so the public can get the truth.  Until that day we recommend Joe Monahan and the Albuquerque Free Press (and of course the Eye).  The public can not expect the Journal Editors to tell them the truth.

We can only hope that the citizens, those who live in Taylor Ranch, Tanoan, High Desert, Los Ranchos etc start waking up.  Just because your neighborhoods are not seeing the destruction that Berry’s lack of vision and leadership has caused the rest of the city doesn’t mean you should ignore it.  The Eye urges our citizens in the rich and upper middle class neighborhoods to get involved.  Go downtown on a Saturday night at midnight and see what really is going on.  Take a walk outside of Nob Hill into the war zone (International District) and see how our neighbors live.  Take a drive down West Central and stop by the Ski Hi Lounge and speak to our homeless neighbors and ask them about their friends who were murdered across the street.

Albuquerque residents are in this together.  Our neighbors are hurting.  Our town is becoming the Detroit of the southwest.  Those who live in comfort behind their locked gates must step out and show their concern for the Albuquerque that is plagued by zombie homes, murder, child abuse etc.  Do nothing and it will be on your doorstep soon enough.  Let’s work together, rich and poor, to make Albuquerque that “diamond in the desert” it can be.  Get involved.

So? Was Perry out at the last police shooting, trying to impart all of his so called knowledge on people?

Four stories literally out of thousands of stories in six months means absolutely nothing and shows just how naïve the Eye is when it comes to politics in Albuquerque. Apathy still rules the day and nothing is sticking to Berry. Berry's popularity is still very high to the point he is now telling his Economic Forum, NAOP, and NM Business Coalition buddies he plans to run for Governor. People like Sherman McCorkle and Bob Murphy of the Economic Forum have a way of holding on to power and influence. KOAT, KRQE and KOB are all still lazy with their in depth reporting and the turn over in reporters compounds the problem. Bob Clark has been and always will be a political pimp for the right wing Republican and tea party types.

Yes! The average citizen MUST get involved. Just discussed this with protestors, because corrupt APD & City destroy this society and all must put out efforts to fix it ; not just the demonstrators so far.Take back control of your city from the "Gangs". #brokenbad

Demand a "cease-fire" from APD. This is not a war on citizens (or snitches). Stop killing! Either Berry&Perry are on the people's side or resign. Peace for Burque !

Maybe KKOB needs to be reminded that the Lamar Broadcasting Television lost the license for WLBT, its television station in Jackson, Mississippi, because of persistent program practices in opposition to civil rights that included active support for racial segregation and altering network news coverage of the civil rights movement.

You hit on the point I keep expressing over and over, to so many people ready to hate me for calling for honest cops and honest mayors, CAOs, DAs, Judges, etc.
These people yelling at me think I'm in favor of criminals because I'm opposed to the current incarnation of APD.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
I love the desert southwest.
I love honest cops.
I would love an honest administration that took care of our city and our monies.
These are the reasons I hate who/what we have currently.
Like you, my love of this place, coupled with a better than average IQ, drive me to protest criminality in our cops, our courts, our "leadership"...
These poor boneheads who think that being supportive of the criminals running the show will iron everything out eventually, I admire their supportiveness...no, wait. I don't even do that.
If you think that forgiving and forgetting will move these criminals to straighten up and quit screwing us all the time, you probably need to be forced to wear a helmet ALL the time for your own safety.
Fuck these people. Chase them down and make them pay for lying, cheating and stealing from us.
Let everyone know that moving forward, leaders/cops/judges had best be honest because the fan is on "HI" these days, and when the shit hits it, there will be damage to that turd. You'll still get plenty of people stepping up to take these jobs...Hell, you'll get waaaay more cops signing up, don't worry about that.
They'll just do it knowing that we'll appreciate their honest jobs well done.
The guys currently running things get resentful, hurt, "Saddened", defensive when we question their work, their lies, their excuses.
Can you imagine why?
Because no honest person doing an honest job would ever act like this. Ever.
There's no reason.
Watch the news. Every time something bad happens, these pussy criminals whine about being questioned.
Think about it.
Stop playing the game by their rules.
Those would be the rules where the criminals the DOJ caught are proposing to lead the fixes.
PLEEEEASE can't you people see how fucking stupid it is to allow such a "procedural step" in the first fucking place?!?!?!?

FORBES MAGAZINE FORCASTS THAT ALBUQUERQUW WILL BE DEAD LAST AMONG THE 200 LARGEST METRO AREAS IN CREATING JOBS THROUGH 2016! Job growth for Albuquerque will be .02% for the NEXT two years. Remember Berry said Albuquerque has turned the corner and his economic development plan would bring more than 15,000 jobs over four years to Albuquerque. Lies and more lies form Berry.

KRQE, KOAT,KOB, the Journal and KKOB radio have done absolutely NO in depth reporting on just how bad things are for Albuquerque business. No reporting on Berry's failed economic development plan. The stations themselves are hurting and downtown is dying. Yet the Economic Forum, NAIOP, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispano Chamber of Commerce all think Berry has done a good job simply because he is a Republican. Let them all chock themselves to financial ruin for their own failed approach to attracting new business. They all got their lowered corporate taxes two years ago and the state still cannot attract new jobs. The same group of people are saying lets make this Berry Governor so he can do to the State what he has done for Albuquerque. Why not? Susana is killing the State and there will be nothing for Berry to destroy.

I emailed that Forbes report to all the local media, the only one who reported on it was KRQE. I have found them to be the best journalists in town. New Mexico in Focus also does a great job. Joe Monahan does a great job breaking down politics in New Mexico, and the horrific failure of leadership in this city and state. The Albuquerque Journal is probably the worst of the worst in this town.

Thanks Mayor Berry...lost my job, lost my house, and I'm living out of my car.
I guess I can look at the bright side as I've learned from APD to be jittery whenever I see a cop car.
I'm heading down to Lordsburg with my new skill set, get paid a couple million, and get a free colonoscopy.

Then I'm getting out of this God forsaken country and heading to the beach in Mexico to hang out with Jessie V.

FROM 7/29/2014 MONAHAN BLOG:

"Now here's a scary thought. Is it possible the ABQ governing and political classes may actually not want economic development? From Governing (WEB SITE):

A poor economy and all the problems that come with it actually benefit some people, giving powerful players less incentive to improve the status quo for the rest. Jane Jacobs...noted in The Economy of Cities, “Economic development, whenever and wherever it occurs, is profoundly subversive of the status quo.” And it isn’t hard to figure out that even in cities and states with serious problems, many people inside the system are benefiting from the status quo. They have political power, an inside track on government contracts, a nice gig at a civic organization or nonprofit, and so on. All of these people, who are disproportionately in the power broker class of most places, potentially stand to lose if economic decline is reversed. That’s not to say they are evil, but they all have an interest to protect."

The above really reveals why the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, The Economic Forum, the Hispano Chamber of Commerce, NAIOP and the New Mexico Business coalition are such big Berry promoters.

Eye on Albuquerque should be changed to Eye on APD because that's all it's about. Real tired of reading a blog written by someone who has a hard on for the cops. I will say, however, APD needs to reorganized, retrained and restrained.

@7-29-14 2:08

No one is twisting your arm to come to the EYE and read the comments moron. Go pound sand up some other fools ass, from what I have seen there are plenty of fools to go around taking city issued paychecks.

APD has become the issue here because the good officers finally saw the evil that is being done by their brothers in blue after the Boyd shooting came to light. And it is the only place they can vent without fear of retaliation you dipwad!!!

PUBLISHED: Wednesday, June 8, 2011

State District Judge Theresa Baca handed down a massive judgment to the family of a man fatally shot by an APD officer in 2009.

Baca shot down nearly every one of APD’s witnesses as “unreasonable” and “not credible”.

She went on to say: “Based on the testimony of the City of Albuquerque’s own expert, the training provided, to the officers, on the use of deadly force, is not reasonable and is designed to result in the unreasonable use of deadly force.”

Baca also pointed out that that very expert, a training officer for APD, called Montgomery’s actions “exemplary” and testified in court that he would use the Lopez shooting “to train officers in the proper use of deadly force.”

2:08pm - If you're "Real tired of reading a blog written by . . . bla bla bla" for any reason, why would you keep reading it? I seriously doubt that anyone is holding a gun to your head making you read it. And how did you ever convince yourself that your opinion would ever matter to anyone other than yourself?

Albuquerque gets to be in the international spotlight again. Today it's multiple stories. We're so awesome. What are the headlines you ask? Dont ask that. Focus on the fact that we made international news.
Fine if you just gotta know, the guy who marinated his dog, the unm football player suspended..... oh just shut up. Just know it isnt just fake tv shows that gets us on the international stage.
Hey Tesla, how do you like us now?

Once ABQ Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Rob Perry is removed from office and stripped of all of his ill-gotten gains by personal lawsuit awards and placed behind bars, his new title as CAO will stand for Chief Anal Orifice. (We are sure someone will asking the sentencing Judge for leniency and make sure the CAO is supplied with plenty of bars of soap.)
