The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Spining Spinners Spin

In recent days we've heard some bizarre things. While RJ Berry states the city coffers are full of money, it seems Gordon Eden didn't get the memo. He said at last week's council meeting that he didn't have enough in his budget for a much needed academy class to start in October. Just a few years ago, the goal for APD was to have 1,100 officers. Now we're lucky if we even have 900.

Can the mayor, police chief or city council point to a specific study for why APD is supposed to be staffed at 1,100 (that was the number the last 6 years) as compared to the 1,000 we are staffed for now?

We don't think so but maybe they will surprise us and show they didn't pull this number out of thin air. Why hasn't Eden, Berry or the Council ordered a study and report on APD resources?  Where are the officers assigned?  Do we need 1,000 or with better management and  clear goal as to what APD's mission is will 900 be the number?  If you ask Eden, Berry and the Council do any of them have any idea what APD's mission is?  If so your loveable Eye hasn't heard it.

We are confident an outside study of where APD manpower is at will show many sitting behind desks doing jobs that civilians could do better and for less.  A study would clearly show a duplication of effort between APD and APS Police at the area schools.  This amounts to around 40 APD officers who are doing the job of APS Police.  This is a waste of taxpayer money.  Now we know people will scream that they want their children protected, but either put APD in charge of all APS Schools or put APS Police in charge, but having both agencies with officers in schools is a very poor use of APD resources.

So go ask Eden, Berry and the Council just what they want APD mission to be.  We bet you get a wide range of lengthy answers that just spin.  Here is what a police department should consider its most important function:

Response to citizens calls for assistance.  This is number one.  So what Berry, Eden and the Council should do is study APD resources, let APS Police handle their schools (or bring them under the APD banner like we did with open space).  A breakdown of APD sworn officers should look like this:

65 % Field Services responding to citizens calls for help.

30% Detectives doing follow up investigations

5% administrative (the command staff this includes Lt's) recruiting and training

But we don' know why we waste our time.  Albuquerque citizens don't care, they just move away and the folks in power just hire people to spin this debacle instead of fixing it. And pay them even more....

We do know this, the staffing of APD is hot issue. Within minutes of Eden stating there was no funding for the October academy class....PRESTO!!!!...in came the Berry Fairy with necessary funding for the class....

APD's (recently approved) 2014 budget is the largest single item representing nearly 20% of the City's total expenditures. For Perry, Berry, Eden, the City Council, the APOA and to some extent Tourek to not know that one of the top concerns (supposedly) of the department, recruiting new officers, would not be funded screams for an immediate independent audit of the department. Perhaps Hector Balderas can bring in his Special Investigative Division to air the dirty laundry. I'd say a good place to start would be with the inter fund transfers that Perry/Berry seem to love using.

Did ya'll read in the morning paper today that Chief Eden is having his DC's, Commanders, and some officers do the talking to the news media at scenes now so they can get a feel for what it is like and it will help them once they get promoted.... It was a good thing I was sitting on the toilet, I laughed so hard I shit... Another ridiculous comment made by Mumbles.. And hey stop with having pictures of worthless people doing the ice bucket challenge, it's annoying...

No one in their right mind would take employment with APD if they knew the ins and outs of what is going on here. The only people they will get will be those that always wanted to be a cop, but previously due to the demand, always got turned down. And these zealots have always been the ones who have been the problems.

Albuquerque Police Department Recruiting is full of crap.
This place is being run by clowns.

Berry promised us that Eden knows what he is doing and could hit the ground running.

Well he did, right off the cliff with his "Justified" remarks. It is plainly evident that Eden does not know how to run this department. Berry does not know how to run this city. Eden got a raise to $159000 per year. For that kind of money he should know what he is doing and not make any gaffes. I have no sympathy for him, he is in over his head and he should resign. He won't. He will attempt to be a "caretaker" chief for the next 3 years and then retire with a new high three. That is all he is here for.

Several months back, KOB ran an article about this. The headline was "Shortage off officers means surplus of funds for APD" something like that. The main points were that we were funded for 1,100 officers and had 857...all that extra money was just sitting there. One officer thought they should buy toys, another assured us it goes back into the fund and stays there....Where is that money?
Now, I will guarantee you that the cops secured funding for the extra officers by establishing a number, and amount of $$ those extra officers will be able to steal from the public.
Go look up all of our major projects around Albuquerque.
I tried, but they felt really safe treating me like shit and hanging up on me....guess that happens when you ask people if they're criminals.
What you'll find is that Mayor Assface puts out bids all his buddies come in 15% lower on than the next guy. YAY! Except then, you'll find out there was a quiet meeting about it a couple months later, when the buddy (OOPS!) figured out he was gonna go over budget, and needed more money. Does the city fire them? No.
I mean, I would fire the extortionist who tried that with me on my home, and pay him the difference between what he bid and what it cost to finish the job with someone else...but not the MAyor. He gives them more and more money, and sooner or later, you and I pay the extra 20%-25% to that fucking loser who apparently is smart enough to own a construction company, while simultaneously being so fucking dumb that he cant bid a job within 45% of it's actual cost.
Go look it up, Eye.
Let us know what you find.
This is just more theft by your leadership, to make books "Balance", so you won't guess that they couldn't manage a gumball machine into the black between them all....
And so, they make up for it by hiring a bunch of fucking scared, cowardly, pussy cops to go write tickets to people who don't earn them, arrest people who don't deserve it, and whine about how no one likes them and the loss of morale is making them do an even worse job.
In a way, I can't blame them: If you're hired specifically to steal from your community, and you're told that you get to act like an asshole while you do it, and that people are nothing and you are a minor God, imagine how bad it must hurt when people hate you for doing exactly what your criminal bosses ask of you...
Now that shitbag is the new honorable, do you really expect the cops to care if they shoot a mere mortal? When you hire shitty people, you can't expect to moderate their shittiness, you fucking stupid leaders.
All you can do is excuse them for being murderers, and hope no one really starts asking questions.
I moved away. Too many fucking idiots seem to want to be right more than they want to admit they were wrong and fire and prosecute their pussy, criminal, APD thugs.
I couldn't get over the fact that if we managed to get the leadership investigated and jailed, the bad cops off the force and jailed, I'd be directly benefiting all those assholes who told me I must be a criminal shitpile if I dared call the cops criminals.
Fuck them. They can have the mayor and all the shitty cops they so richly deserve.....

KRQE reports that Berry is now paying $50,000 for a study on when APD officers should turn on their lapel cameras. Shouldn't this have been done before Schultz signed the contract and got his kickback job? Does Berry never think further than 5 minutes ahead?

This administration is just a mess.

Since they are going to waste another $50,000 of our money, this study should also look into the privacy rights of officers and citizens. I know the ACLU wants the cameras on all the time, but there should be some safe guards for privacy for victims and for officers. The way the media works is anything filmed they want to show at the 6 pm news. The ACLU needs to back up a step and make sure they don't go so far overboard that we violate the rights of others. Who wants to have their moment with police on the 6 pm news? It could be a death notification, or something else, do those people have the right to say NO I don't want police to video me? Does an officer have the right to say NO he doesn't want his entire day filmed? There are big legal issues that should have been studied BEFORE Schultz and Berry signed the $2,000,000 contract.

My,my,my. Gordo is paid $153,000 a year to learn from his mistakes, but yet rank and file are given a miserable 2.5% increase and not allowed to make any mistakes. Perry gets a $30,000 raise to continue with his mistakes and rank and file are at the lowest manning levels in 15 years and are apt to make far more mistakes. The more you get, the less you work and Berry thinks all is well. Lets get mumbles, knuckle dragging, Sherman McCorkle tell us how great his blond ambition Gordon Eden is doing so we can all feel real good about ourselves.

The nature of man is for good or evil and in every group of men there will be the good and the evil. But when the good see the evil and do nothing they too become evil. Face it good men of APD, your failure to band together and allow your fear of retaliation by the evil has made you accomplices of the evil. And now that the citizens are demanding that truth shine the light on the evil and eradicate it, you cry foul! You have made your bed, lapel cameras and short staff, wallow in it or man up and help the citizens now or forever hold your short shitty end of the stick.

Um since they took everybody's computer and did an "upgrade" we all know there's tracking software now.....

Now Berry wants to study lapel cameras!!!!!! He should have done this before he allowed Schultz to sign the $2,000,000 contract.

How is the investigation into the Schultz Taser kickback scheme going?

Will the City Council ask for an independent investigation into Schultz and Redflex for kickbacks also? Schultz brought them to town and now Redflex CEO is under indictment in Chicago for kickbacks and the investigators are saying kickbacks and corruption happened in New Mexico.

Wake up Ken Sanchez, ask the US Attorney to investigate Albuquerque and Redflex NOW! Don't wait for outside folks to do it.

Why has KRQE backed off? They were breaking stories for a little while. Now they're back to selling the city spin again. You're covering all these new things from APD that I remember you covered a couple years ago.

What happened? Did TJ make good on cutting you off of media leaks if you didnt drop the suit about their failure to comply with IPRA? Or did you not like being told Susanna wouldn't buy air time if you didn't play nice for RJ?

Make up your mind KRQE, either you're going to lay down to these dogs and wake up with fleas or you're going to be the only real journalists in town?

Start turning off your department phones when not on call. For a few years now they've been installings apps that track you. They say you can turn it off but you cant. Imagine what they now know, not only where you live but when you stay with your girlfriend they now can tell where shr lives, they can tell which church you go to, they can tell where you take your family to eat, and which fields your kids play soccer at.
Imagine what a dirty cop or civilian can do with that information? ! If you aren't on call leave the phone at your desk or in your house. If its a real emergency let dispatch call your personal phone.
Dont create a paper trail for the dirty ones on the department to track down your family.

Very good advice ...don't make it easy for these crooks and sketchy creepers to know where you are or where you've been. scarey stuff. This cannot be legal!
