The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Very Vanilla!

Innovate Albuquerque, Very Old Vanilla

Under Richard Berry’s absent minded leadership, Albuquerque has found itself in an economic Sargasso Sea.  Going nowhere and floundering.  Hot and stinky. Albuquerque is the only major American city that went back into recession, yes Albuquerque we are #1, we are the only city who has had a double dip recession! Thank you Richard Berry we couldn’t have dropped so low without your abysmal leadership.

To turn Albuquerque’s economy around Richard Berry decided to team up with business folks and UNM and create INNOVATE ALBUQUERQUE.

In the financial world we are taught that past performance is a good indicator of future performance.  In history we learn that if we ignore the past we are doomed to repeat it.  Based upon the Board of Directors for Innovate Albuquerque we are doomed to fail.  These are the same people who got us into this mess.  So let’s look at who is on the Board of Directors of Innovate Albuquerque (look closely at the pictures there will be a test at the end):

Richard Berry
David Harris
Richard Larson
Terry Laudick
Sherman McCorkle
Charles Wellborn

Patricia Vincent-Collawn is being discussed as the final (7th) member, but she has not been confirmed yet.

OK Albuquerque, look at the pictures of the six men who are on the Board of Directors, notice anything?  If you guessed they are all old, white businessmen who have overseen the economic decline in Albuquerque over the last five years you would be right!  Now let’s look at the demographics of Albuquerque:

White 42%
Hispanic 46%
Everybody else 12%

Men 49%
Women 51%

Ignoring the fact that these six white guys have been in charge while Albuquerque has failed economically, why is this board of directors not a mirror of our community?  Does Richard Berry really not know any Hispanic business owners / community leaders?  Does Berry not know at least three other women who are business owners / community leaders?

Innovate Albuquerque is doomed to failure.  It is run by a group that does not represent Albuquerque and this same group are the old white guys who got us into this mess.  So please call Richard Berry (505 768 3000) and ask him, Do you only care about rich white men?  It seems like it.

Wow. Sounds like an article written by the parents of michael brown. When all else fails blame race. Way to go eye, no one listening? Change not coming fast enough? Unable to influence political races? Let just blame it on race. Berry is an idiot, but are you forgetting that there are other non-white people that hold positions who have lead to the city's screwups. No wonder no one in supervisory positions gives a rats ass about this blog. I'm all for calling an idiot an idiot but clumping them all together by race is ignorant. If berry did appoint a non-white, they would still be attached to his strings like a puppet and nothing would change. Are we forgetting what race our governor and president are?

Richard Bwerry is married to an hispanic woman who qualified for minority status loans to get his construction business off the ground. Berry actually worked for his wife! His success as a private contractor is tied to his wife who really started and ran the business.
Sherman MCcorkle and Chuck Welbrn are two old has beens that thrived on the good old boy net work.

Ray Schultz looking at the floor and wall like a bitch with the diaper wearing hag protecting him.... PRICELESS!
YOU FUCKING COWARDS.

Dick Berry is a white collar criminal. Ask him all about how he is sabotaging the city security force in order to make it look like the workload is too much for them to handle so he can give his family member, who owns a private security business, the most lucrative city contracts. These guys just got the convention center contract. They are about to get the Civic Plaza contract. They took over the outside security at Balloon Fiesta while ABQ Security was made to work the inside portion of the festival.

Berry treats this department like shit. When officers leave, they hire 1 for every 5 that leaves. This is done on purpose to keep the staff so low that they have to hire an outside agency to cover what the city can't. This is abuse of power and abuse of office.

This mayor has been doing this since he has gotten in office. He has created back door illegal means to hook up his buddies with contracts that will be lucrative for him down the road.

In any other state in this country, the entire administration would be indicted.

You missed the entire point. Berry and his cronies, all old white guys, are ruining our city. Innovate Albuquerque is getting millions from the city, yet it doesn't represent the city. We get the same old, old white guys. I know there are qualified people of color, who represent our community. Apparently Berry either doesn't know they exist or he hides from them.

Good report Eye!

Only Berry can be so stupid to say this:
"I think we're going to have a landmark agreement that can be a model around the country." What else can one say?

I will bet you are also a white male.

Only white males say everything is fine and "you're playing the race card". Well I for one am glad the Eye is playing the race card. Because it is true. Look at the pictures and look at our double dip recession. The Eye posted the facts, the majority of this town are minorities yet Berry staffs his positions with old white men. Oh they might put a token white woman on the board. I bet if the shoe was on the other foot you would be screaming about how unfair it is. Well the Eye posted the truth. We all know Berry surrounds himself with vanilla, in a town of milk chocolate. This is a race issue and it is a lack of leadership issue. Albuquerque is sinking, we all know it, except for the old white rich men who run things.

Not only white but probably Mid-western and Christian. It's finally being called straight. Vote republican and this is what you get.

And those old rich white men are the only ones who vote!

1:59 If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, its a duck. Look at the demographics of Albuquerque at the very least. The Eye is good at stating the obvious and this is a great example of the obvious. You stating that using racism as a last resort to other Eye failures in the mist of Berry's long list of failures is the typical conservative response when confronted by the obvious "face" of assigning high power positions to old white men. Deny and attack the messenger....sad. Thanks Eye for stating the obvious, and providing visual to under score your contention.

You can bet the bank that it was dim wit, marbled mouthed, Sherman McCorkle that was responsible for putting together this stellar group of old white guys. McCorkle has an emormous influence over Berry and haa him completely snowed as being a reapected businessman. McCorkle has Berry'a ear on all things at City Hall including law enforcement. McCorkle headed up Berrys transition teal and was a big promoter of Darren White and Gordon Eden. McCorkle is part of the good old boy Republican network consisting of the Chamber of Commerce and the Ecomomic Forum. He was a failure in banking at Sunwest Bank years ago and is as big a self promoter you will ever find. Money and greed is what motivates McCorkle and he does not do anything without an alterior motive. McCorlle and the Economic Forum buddies do not want to change the status quo and feel threatened with any thing new that will turn Albuquerque around.

I think the eye has actually been a few people over the years. In december 2011 the eye was suddenly quiet and out of the loop. Right around the time a bunch of people retired. Now the eye is suddenly talking race for the first time in almost a decade of this blog.
I think this is likely the fourth person being the eye and this eye is a little too outsider to be able to break the news stories. I'm also going to guess this eye is not on a promotion list right now based on tone.
If this eye isn't inside enough but wants to keep breaking stories like the predecessors it is time to start holding back those commentors who have no contributions beyond profanity and sexual comments. Then those who leaked previous stories will start contributing again because they won't feel like they are dealing with immature audiences.

Lol! Also did you see his face when he said that. It was like he couldn't believe his own words or he had no control of them. His face was all frozen and his eyes were bugging out but his mouth just kept moving saying all kinds of weird stuff. He has mental issues I would bet .

Yawn....let's just report the obvious...we don't need no stinkin' insiders. Yes you do. Another question why have the pop -up that says your comment will be posted after approval? I doubt the comments so sickening and juvenile and gross about the Mommy issues sick -o and the references to oral sex are actually approval material. I recall back in the day the comments would easily exceed 80 or 90. The information the Eye of those days posted was awesome. And if the comments got ugly, nasty or became an argument between 2 posters like Mr . Mommy Issues & Walgreens perv, the Eye would not put up with it . Get it together, Eye. We want to know about the Boyd family lawsuit, the status of the FBI'S investigation into the Boyd shooting, what happened to the swat officers assigned to admin. duty, will Keith Sandy sue because APD ruled the shooting justified, what else is Ronzone being investigated for, etc etc etc ....

The make up of the board isn't Berry's doing instead it is Davie Harris' doing.
http://www.bizjournals.com/albuquerque/news/2014/11/07/city-unm-must-expand-innovate-abq-board-or-lose-2.html?page=all
Bill Ricardson got David Harris the job at UNM and as a result UNM has suffered several years with the sh*t that Richardson sent to UNM. UNM is pretty corrupt and has been for years. Anyone remember when the Maloof's were regents. As for the race and party cards there are lots of corrupt hispanic democrats in this state.

Anonymous said...

This sums up David Harris from a recent letter regarding the Lobo Basketball couch high salary raise in October 2014

In my opinion, no prima donna who coaches a sport at an institution of higher education, especially one like the University of New Mexico, whose athletic department generates huge yearly deficits, is worth more than a professor or a proven president.
Having said that, one can’t help but wonder who runs UNM? It would appear, at first glance, that David Harris, the executive vice-president does.
Usurpation of power by Harris started back when Gov. Richardson was in office and he, by design, took control of UNM by appointing regents who followed his commands to include the disastrous hiring of cronies that included Mr. Caldera as president, Harris as second in command and another D.C. friend, Billy Sparks, as head of public relations at the UNM Hospital.
The hefty compensation package ($950,000/year) Mr. Craig Neal (Noodles) just received was actually negotiated in secrecy by the athletic director, Mr. Krebs, and Harris with the blessing of Mr. Fortner, president of the board of regents. President Frank simply signed off on the agreement after it was a “done deal.”
Mr. Harris controls the purse strings at UNM and more. It is difficult to understand how he concluded UNM’s operating budget had that kind of money laying around when so many other needs go unmet.
The lottery grant program, for one, is in financial trouble and could benefit from these extra dollars that went to Noodles. I’m hopeful Noodles will now be able to afford a haircut.
Now, what about President Frank? Is he the president or not? And, is Mr. Fortner stepping over the line between setting policy and implementing it? Something is out of sync.
The award made to Noodles and the manner in which it was done leads me to conclude that UNM is a rudderless ship, the same dilemma NMSU went through when inept regents hired Mrs. Couture as president only to pay her $650,000 to leave six months later.
In conclusion, I emphatically say, again, that no coach is worth more than a professor or a needy student.
Do your job Mr. Frank and, above all, fulfill your commitment to transparency. Mr. Krebs and Mr. Harris are not paid huge tax dollar salaries to do what you are getting paid to do!

I don't understand why you all don't like Berry. This is a cop site, most of you voted Republican, Berry is just doing what Republicans do. So what's the problem?

Paul Heh is vanilla and a right wing conservative.

Anonymous said...

I think the CAO is strawberry. At least that is what his red face looks like every time I see it..

Anonymous said...

All the chickens voted for Colonel Sanders in the last Mayors race.

Anonymous said...

Paul Heh likes to shoot his mouth off and does not like to be reminded that he actually endorsed and worked on Berry's campaign for Mayor the first time around and then claimed he was lied to by Berry so he ran against Berry as a vendetta and to be a spoiler. Heh got on the ballot but did not qualify for public financing saying it was too difficult to get 3,000 people to donate $5.00 to his campaign, yet Dinelli got 5,000, $5.00 contributions and qualified for City financing. Paul Heh actually fits right into Berry's world as one of those old, white, vanilla conservative Republicans but he is still angry that he was totally ingnored during the campaign and went from 9% in the polls to start and to finish with 3% or about 2,000 votes.

It's amazing how this blog attracts the negativity of roaches whose nest is apparently disturbed when a person with integrity comes here to speak the truth.

Thank you, Paul, for telling it like it is. When this administration crashes it will register 9.1 on the Richter scale.

Anonymous said...

Conservative Republicans are the roaches in this city and state. Now that the Reublicans control the NM House of Representaives, they are now talking about enacting a "right work law" again lying that it will make New Mexico more competitive and attract new industry and jobs. The same argument was made in enacting the reduction in Corporate Tax rates two years ago and nothing has happend in attracting new industry and the Albuquerque and New Mexico economies have only gotten worse. There are 751,000 total workers in New Mexico of which only 46,000 are unions members according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Many union members in Albuquerque and the State are government employees: police officers, firefighters, teachers, city bus drivers, city solid waste drivers, ect. The primary purpose of enacting a right to work law in New Mexico is to destroy all the Government Unions like AFSME which is exactly what RJ Berry wants and has done for the past 5 years. Watch Berry and Perry move quickly to get rid of all City Unions and City Union Contracts negotiated in good faith once a right to work law passes in New Mexico. But all you rank and file cops who voted Republican, and for that matter who supported Paul Heh, will still have the EYE to post your nasty, self righteous comments.

Thank goodness! Time to form a new way for cops to get real representation. The game has changed and we must adapt. Privatize the representation cops get and fine tune it for each of their needs when they need it, disband APOA.

Anonymous said...

The APOA will be disbanded soon enough. I am hearing the evidence those two officers have against Sigala and the rest of those two faced bastards is enough for criminal charges. I believe their civil case is only the beginning of their woes.

Anonymous said...

RE: November 13 at 11:00 am "Privatized the representation cops get and fine tune it for each of their needs when they need it..." Talk about a sense of entitlement, arrogance and looking out for only yourself. Might as well force every single cop to negotiate their own contracts by hiring their own lawyers and let John Martinez, Berry and Perry walk all over you and get rid of PERA contributions, all your benefits and force cops to represent themselves.

Republican State Representative Paul Pacheco, who likes say his last name is pronounced PAAACHEEECO so that people will think he is anglo, is a former cop and past president of the APOA. This is one hypocrite I wonder will be voting for a "right to work law" during the next legislative session to help get rid of APOA and police unions in general.

Anonymous said...

Vanilla with a bunch of nuts!!!

Anonymous said...

You are making absolutely no sense. APOA is privatized. That is why past leaders have not been held to any standards about how they spend your money, how they handle your representation when you are in trouble, or how they handle voting.
If right to work is passed the apoa will be disbanded. So will every other union in this state. Just ask wisconsin.
If you think employee health and pera pay to play shit was bad before just imagine when there is no union to point out things like the city is broke but we paid over 100 a night for a separate hotel for the doj negotiators dog. Yes his dog got a hotel room on the city dollar. Over 100 of them per night

Forbes says we are #1!!!! Oh, oops. #1 worst quality of life in the country.

Thats ok.We are in the middle for business costs and the regulatory environment. That means the rich will want to run their businesses here. Who cares if every single worker would literally have a better quality of life absolutely anywhere but here.

Let that sink in. New Jersey, better than us. Mississippi, better than us. Missouri, with all their riots, better than us. California, with traffic, mudslides, earthquakes, gangs, ridiculously overpriced housing, better than us... El Paso, better quality of life than us

We're number 1 and no one can tell us any different.

My Mayor says it is like this everywhere and we are good for business and you with your successfully run business and actually educated journalist can't tell me any different. Besides, I can't afford to buy your magazine so it doesn't matter what you say.

The Journal is reporting that Vincent-Collawn has been added (so now we have a woman). This group has now decided to add 4 more members so they can have a more diverse group. That group will still be the minority in a group where the majority is the same tired old white guys who got Albuquerque into this double dip recession.

The problem in Albuquerque is not a matter of republican, democrat, conservative or liberal. The problem here is corruption versus honesty. Corruption has been rampant in Albuquerque and New Mexico for years. No bid contracts, nepotism in granting of contracts, district court judges corrupted, and state regulatory boards corrupted. Only the people, all the people, can change the hole that this city and state are in. Sweep the corruption out with your votes, but you MUST VOTE! Don't let NE Albuquerque rule the entire city, by staying home from the polls, that is exactly what is happening. The corruption here is so ingrained in our culture that we know of no other way to exist. We are indeed a sad city and state. But, it is rather pleasant being at the bottom in all national rankings, we don't have to worry about some state coming up from behind us!

Anonymous said...

While were on the subject, SID is almost an all white organization. West started it that way and now Les Brown has succeeded in bringing in all white guys. ROP is definitely all white and all the supervisors are white. Coincidence? I don't think so. Where the CPOA when we need them?? Oh I forgot, all white too..
