The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. THE THIN BLUE LINE

The Thin Blue Line ( Police ) is all that stands between us and total chaos and criminal running wild in our streets. We look at places like Baltimore, Ferguson, Detroit and yes, Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Local news reports almost daily on murders, gangs running wild in the streets stealing anything they can get their hands on.  There is no one to stop the criminals; the THIN BLUE LINE IS BROKEN ACROSS THE UNITED STATES.
There are police officers being murdered just because they wear a badge. There are POLICE OFFICERS being refused a meal at a restaurant just because they wear a badge. You have radical groups calling for the murder of Police Officers. In many cases the Police  are afraid to do their  job  and are slow to react because they know the politicians are just looking for the next scape goat.
Let’s talk just about Albuquerque. It is not because the officers at A.P.D. have low moral it is because they have no moral left at all. The prior Chief Ray Schultz was more interested in throwing good officers under the bus just to make himself look good in the media and to try and keep The Department  Of Justice away from Albuquerque. The new Chief is just another politician who you rarely see or hear from and has no respect from the officers he is supposed to lead. Chief Eden is a total failure as the CITY and Police Department spin out of control.
The Officers want to do their job but are afraid. The reason for this is they know even if they are 100 percent right they will get no backing from Mayor Berry or their chain of command if political winds are blowing in the wrong direction. These Officers have families to support, they need their job, so it has come to a point they don't want to be involved in any type of confrontation.  They don't want to be proactive for fear of becoming involved in something and the politicians going after them instead of standing behind them when they are right.
Want proof? Ask A.P.D. dispatch how many calls are holding on any given day with no officers available to take them. Just this past weekend there were forty plus calls holding with no officers to respond. It is sad a once proud, proactive Police Department has come to this.
What do we do?  Do we sit in silence and believe the spin from the politicians who pretend everything is just fine? Have you or your family been a victim of a crime? Have you called the Police and had to wait hours for them to show up or they didn't show at all? Don't blame the patrol officer put the blame where it belongs; with the politicians that have created this mess and have no clue how to fix it. All the politicians care about is protecting their huge salary. We here at the EYE do not claim all Police officers are good and noble but the vast majority of them are. All of the good officers want to be able to do their jobs and that job is very clear; to protect us all from criminals and keep us all safe.

Everything boils down to the crap politicians. It's the politicians that downsize departments, screw over good employees to protect themselves, appoint idiots as department heads and cabinet members, and suck the morale from everyone. Dishonoring contracts, pay cuts, worse benefits, and substandard working conditions are the results. So, who is going to give a shit about the city or state after this? Not the police, not fire, not transit, not solid waste, etc., etc., etc. I can't place all the blame on the politicians because, as we all know, they become politicians to mooch off the system since they can't amount to crap in the working world. I place most of the blame on the taxpaying public. They are the ones that either voted for the idiots, didn't bother to vote, turn a blind eye to all the corruption, live in glass houses, or profit from whomever holds office. I say screw the public. Let them call Dick Berry (if he can be found) or Suzy Martinez ( if she's not busy reading to kids, riding in hot air balloons, covering up pay-to-play issues, or letting NM rank last in everything) to borrow their personal goons when shit hits the fan. The politicians have goons because they would rather see the police shot than risk their own lives in public. Pathetic. In all reality, the public and politicians have changed policing from Protect & Serve, to Respond & Investigate Tomorrow . Hell, AKAL can do that. And yes, I'm leaving this state next week to give my family better. I'll spend my PERA elsewhere.

All I can say is, wow, what a cesspool this city and state has become. I was born and raised here. I did a 4 year enlistment in the Marines and then returned back to Albuquerque. That's 40 years of residence here and never have I seen things so bad. Once a great city and state for economic stability, education, business opportunities, low crime, and child welfare, this place has become the worst in the nation. I can understand Detroit falling apart due to Wall Street and the automotive industry's bankruptcies, but Albuquerque problems are due to politicians. New Mexico problems are due to politicians. Plain and simple. When did Mississipp move to the high desert? Where did all the homeless and gangs come from? Growing up, there were no panhandlers anywhere, a murder was a shocking occurrence, and you didn't need to carry a gun when walking down the street. Anyone that disagrees has their head in the sand. 9:51:00, I will also be moving to another state in two months for great job opportunity, better economy, better school for my children, and safer streets. I am taking a loss on my property, but it's a small price to pay for much grander things. I'm sure this next state won't mind getting my tax dollars nor me spending my New Mexico PERA to bolster their economy. This state has lost all of my spent income, taxes, vehicle registrations, etc. I recommend that all city and state employees do whatever you have to do to retire early and get out. What a great feeling it is.

The retention bonus monies that was scammed away from the officers and schuttled to the scum bag brass is hush money spent and devised by Perry and Berry to keep the brass close to them and keep them happy in order to keep their mouths shut. Berry realized that there are a lot of mouths out there that could sink him. The mayor and Perry are nothing but elected organized crime. This is the truth as told by a ranking APD member.

I think blaming all the politicians is too easy. Everyone in this mess shares some of the responsibility. APD officers who see the brass and others around them doing wrong and committing crimes, and refuse to talk, are part of the problem, too. If you see corruption and accept it, or become part of the conspiracy to keep it quiet, you are as responsible as the corrupt individuals. The brass couldn't get away with any of their crap without everyone's silence. Every person needs to step up to the plate and do the right thing. You hold the power, not them. But you all are too afraid to step out and talk. If you won't stand up for yourself, don't get angry when others won't. Some of them don't even know half of what you know. Man up.

I couldn't agree more eye and the previous writers. I propose a fix to the broken system. First off legalize drugs-all drugs. Allow anyone and everyone to come into our state and city thru Mexico. End the military involvement in our city. Ban all guns. Elect a Marxist/socialist mayor and governor with no experience. Triple the tax on business. Make the minimum wage $25 dollars an hour. Heap scorn and ridicule on all those who attend church, believe in God and play by the rules. Make our citizens out to be racist, bigoted homophobes who think a marriage should be consummated by putting your penis into another mans ass shit. And create factories where aborted baby parts can be made into lampshades, sold to the highest bidder or used to feed our pets. Do you get the message?

9:51 & 11:16 the Politicians are mooching the system? And in the same breath you both tout how you will take the New Mexico Pera money and leave and spend it somewhere else. Hypocrite much???? In your 20 year plus career maybe you both should look in the mirror and admit that you were also part of the problem....sad but don't let the door hit you in the ass, bueno bye!

APD lied. Holly Garcia was shot in the back. She was not hit with a fragment inadvertently. She was shot with a round, and the projectile was pulled from her back. TWO OFFICERS WERE SHOT THAT DAY.

11:16,
Thank you for your service, and you are right. Fuck this place. No one is concerned with fixing anything. They all have their heads up their collective asses and memories as long as flash bulb.

I think 9:51 and 11:16 have the right idea. It is proven that no matter what you do to try to change the system, speak up and get kicked down, try to do the right thing, lead by example, or whatever you think will help the situation, the political climate in this state is oppresive and sucks. The media is oppressive and sucks. When was the last time the media reported any corruption from Berry or Martinez? The public majority have elected these sandbaggers. I agree that they mooch off the system. Mayors, governors, etc., talk shit, get votes, live on the taxpayer dime with a salary, palaces, SUV's, expensive meals, bodyguards, trips and entertainment without doing a damn thing to improve any aspect of life and prosperity for citizens, unless you're a personal friend or donor, in which you get a kickback too. I applaud those that make the decision to leave. Obviously, they know it sucks here and are willing to do something about it. That something is to make a better life for themselves and their family. The smart ones aren't going to kill themselves trying to fix a broken shithole for God knows how long it will take. Life is too short. To 10:42, stop with the "Bueno bye" bullshit. That's another reason why this place is all fucked up. You contribute to the problem as well.

There is no such thing as a line blue line anymore. It's blurred to the point it's unrecognizable. When the department is covering up crimes like the LT shooting his own officer they become criminals themselves. All the 5th floor cares about anymore is making as much money as they can before they retiree. They are an embarrassment. In the past leaders were willing to give up luxuries to support their troops, now it's just about me me me me me. Why would the mayor care if the Chief, DCs, majors, commanders left? They are all completely worthless and there are plenty of LTs who are worthless that can take their place. Hell why not just bring on more of bcso rejects like they did with the academy position. APD was once looked up to, now they are a joke. Great job brass, let's give them a bonus. Baaaaahhhhh

Thin blue line? It should be the brown line. Leaving a line of crap on the mayors carpet as the 5th floor puppies follow him around like idiots. This place is a joke. Anyone holding a position of commander and above should be ashamed. Unfortunately they all believe they earned the title. Back when I was there 50% of the Lts promoted to commander were there because they kissed butt. Now it's 100%. But it's obvious they don't care. Hey it's $ 100,000 plus a retention bonus. Screw the street cops.

APD has become a dumpster for everyone else's garbage. State Police dumped their trash on us, Sandy, Buckner, Wallace, Casaus all brought the City millions in law suits. Now we get this gash from BCSO (thanks to the Perry-White connection) who has IA complaints up the wazoo. Nothing surprises me anymore in this circus of a Department. Oh and let's not forget the wonderful leadership on the fifth floor who shamelessly took the bonuses and gave them to themselves, bravo!!! That move barely made headlines. Oh and let's not forget Lt. Psyco who dumped countless rounds on a fellow Detective is hiding out inside and basically given a pass. A once stellar Department is now just an embarrassment.

Bonuses for a bunch of incompetent buffoons wearing costumes? Where can I get my CABQ tax refund for services not rendered or wanted?
