The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. VoteLESS

Did you know there was a recent local election? We at the EYE told all of you. We guess you didn't hear us.

Are you happy that now for every one hundred dollars you spend you will now be taxed forever thirteen cents to fund the zoo?  If the money even ever finds its way to the zoo that is.

Are you happy about the fact that The City Council has a say in the hiring of a Police Chief ?

Are you happy with The City Council Election?

Do you even know who ran or was elected?

We at the EYE do hope you are all happy, you must be, you must like things as they are, because 92%  of you didn't vote ( as reported on KOAT CH7 ).  We saw the interviews and heard the excuses...I had to work, I forgot, what's next, I  to wash my car , or vacuum my rug?

As you know we at the EYE seldom agree with The City ,but in this case they have it right.  There is early voting, absentee voting, and voting on election day 7am to 7 pm. Come on folks really.  If the  92% of you that didn't vote would of voted, who knows what the outcome would of been.  The same held true to form in the last Mayor Election,  13%  of you voted, that left  87% that did not vote.

Albuquerque is allowing the special interest groups to  run this City just by voting they control you. You allow them to control you by not voting. There are far more of us nobody's than there are of the special interest. The difference is the special interest votes and the nobody's don't. Do you want to change Albuquerque?  You want politicians to be held accountable?  Do you want to end corruption?  All of us nobody's have the power to change things.  All it will take is a half hour of your time. All you have to do is vote.

Nothing scares a politician more than a huge turnout at the polls. For the 8% that did vote, thank you.

I agree with the City Council having a say in Chiefs selection. It takes it out of the Governors hand to pick our Chiefs.

I admit it eye, I didn't vote. And I don't give a shit frankly. Who cares? It's already over. The dumbocrats and liberals have turned our city and country into a wimpy bunch of lazy whiners who hate our government, hate our military, hate our history and detest white males. There's some jobs out there but you work your ass to the ground then give half of your income back to government; while you work they play golf, ski, go to the gym or watch tv and read all day with their fantastic benefit plans, you know, paid time off, paid sick leave, vacation accrual, pension plan. The best thing a white working man can do for himself? Be as lazy as possible, tell the world to kiss your white ass, don't get married and don't work your life away as governments slave. Leave Albuquerque as soon as possible cause it's failing as fast as America. The middle east has devolved into chaos with Armageddon a new reality, we've been flooded with illegals to further ruin our wages and we have a communist, muslim America hating, military hating, white man hating fool running our once great country into the ground. Hell, why vote? Buy guns, ammo and store food, the end time is here!

Did the Eye see Berry's comment the way to solve the problem is "for folks to just get out and vote". Really? This is the same clown whose Administration has engaged in voter suppression activities over the years to make sure his right wing constituency had more than equal access to the polls. Remember how thousands of absentee votes were thrown out by his city clerk in a special election for increasing the minimum wage for voters not signing the outside of the envelop? Remember how his Administration made sure during the last Mayor's race that polling places were available at the Christian Mega Churches while cutting back in the poorer parts of town and no polls were open at the UNM campus? The key to Republicans take over of City hall has always been reliance on low voter turn out. Berry does NOT want people to vote in City elections because he knows his constituency of hard, right wing people who are predominantly Republicans are reliable voters while Democrats not longer care to vote. Watch Berry run for re-election when he finds out he cannot win a state wide race and watch Berry get re-elected in yet even lower voter turn out election.

Eye.....not everything that passed was bad. The decision to have the city councilors confirm the chiefs, is in my opinion a good one. In fact I think they need to include all command staff in that process. The last few chiefs have just been too bad for the current process to continue. As for the current political climate. People are just fed up and the quality of candidates that just straight up suck. I know people who voted for Berry because he promised drastic change to influential people, but as most politicians do, he "changed" those views right after he was re-elected. I for one always vote, but I too am getting discouraged and wouldn't lose sleep if I missed one or two.

I just attended a neighborhood meeting here in the SW, where 2 women started crying because they no longer feel safe and have no faith in the current police administration, especially those at the SW sub station. Our city councilor wasn't running or we would have done everything we could to have his opponent win. We no longer have faith in the current mayor or those he has appointed. Unfortunately we need a miracle to change things. And in politics, even those you elect can not be trusted to keep promises after they are in office. Hell, even the police chief said the police dept won't be fixed and start getting more officers till 2017. Funny how that's after he and his buddies will be gone.

NOTICE!!!!!!
APD no longer takes accident reports. They will show up give you a CAD number and hide behind a building so that they can watch you tube. What the hell are we paying taxes for??????

Hey Eye, you should do an inquiry as to why so many city/county personnel live outside of Albuquerque. Please don't imply that many of us "nobody's" don't vote. Truth is, many of us do, just in Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Belen, Santa Fe, and surrounding counties. I choose to live away from Albuquerque for a safer neighborhood, clean streets, no panhandler bums, better infrastructure, better school system, etc. I got tired of wasting my tax dollars that have been mismanaged by both previous democrats and current republicans. Good for my family but bad for Albuquerque/ Bern county, as my taxes and income get spent somewhere else even though I get paid from the city. Dumb fuckin' politicians can't even grasp that concept and how much money is taken away from the Albuquerque economy. I retire this year and will be moving out of state to spend my PERA elsewhere. Fuck this place. It sucks and will take decades to rebuild what Berry and council have destroyed. I don't have the time left in my life to see if a reputable political climate will ever take hold here and produce change. Just not worth it. You can't rebuild a house from ash after it burned to the ground.

4:29,

No longer feel safe in the SW? Was it ever safe? I have lived here for 45 years and have always known not frequent the SW. Same goes for the SE International War Zone, downtown, Four Hills area, south valley, etc. Hell, you can't go to Tanoan either because of home invasions, shootings, and drunk drivers. There is no such thing as safe areas in Albuquerque anymore. This place is looking more like Detroit everyday. Corruption, crime, homeless vagrants, tent cities, poor economy, no real job growth, failing school system, crumbling infrastructure and "mural artwork" everywhere rivaling a 12 year-old's graffiti that city officials waste our taxes on. If you really want to know how pathetic Albuquerque has become, just travel to a few places like Detroit, New Orleans, and Chicago. Albuquerque doesn't look or feel much different. Our problems weren't caused by natural disasters or failing industries though, but by political hacks and terrible policy. Most of the blame goes to Berry and Martinez. Speaking of which, where has the mayor and governor been lately? They must be so busy fixing the things that they blame the previous administrations for, that neither can ever step outside for some sunshine and fresh air. Or, they are fucking lazy pieces of shit freeloading on the taxpayer like half of the New Mexico population. Yes, republicans suck, too!

Do you really think the council will have any merit when it comes to police and fire chiefs? The council can't even stand up for contract violation issues. The council will be swayed by politics like everything else. Look at how it has worked out at APS when the board has say in superintendents. What's next, buyout contracts for police and fire chiefs?

Here's one example to ponder why people don't care to vote anymore; the majority voted to elect Martinez to Governor (yes, it was probably rigged as well), who had ties to Texas and special interest groups, and who was supposed to fix our economic problems. Then all of sudden, we have an oil boom in SE NM (coincidence?) in which a majority of the proceeds can be traced back to Texas to boost their economy and companies. It's no wonder why people are discouraged. No matter who is elected for change, the fact remains, politicians are liars, cheats, and criminals that get special treatment, perks and kickbacks. Our entire political system has failed and turned into organized crime. I wish that I was interviewed by the news agency, so that I could say it was useless to go vote because all politicians suck. But then, the media would censor it anyway.
Here's a fact about our Governor and her special treatment; while hundreds of thousands of tourists and residents are gridlocked in traffic for balloon fiesta, many of which were turned away from the event and/or left because they couldn't make it into the event before balloons launched, the Governors rinky-dink detail was waved right through admist the problems so she could make it to her annual free balloon ride with her pilot pal/McKinnley county manager/state fair commissioner. Nice to see she has total disregard for the constituents she is supposed to represent. So, this pal gets appointed to high level positions and payed with NM tax dollars, while Martinez gets free balloon rides, and uses this same privately owned balloon to fly the winning children of her reading program (ironic since she now has the worst educational system in America). Can you say pay-to-play? Isn't something about all this illegal?

10:14. I agree with you 100% but they have to try something. If we get another Eden to run APD we won't have any cops left.

Anonymous said...

Love the way Eden says by 2017 we will have the officers we need. What a crock of crap. Starting in 2017 -2019 there another's 100 officers eligible to retire. And that's not counting those who can early out. I am eligible in that time frame and plan to start riding out my vacation in 16. Anyone waiting longer than necessary is an idiot. Even when the next mayor gets rid of the entire 5th floor, it will take years to fix their screwups. And just look at the commanders and LTs waiting to take their place. Scarrrryyyyyyyyyy.

The traffic problem that occurs every year at the Balloon Fiesta could be taken care of by NOT ALLOWING ANY VEHICLES IN except park & ride buses. That service always seems to run very smoothly and everyone is happy with the service. Charge a decent rate and there would be SO MANY more folks using it which would make more money for the City (the bottom line in my humble opinion). Only pilots/crew allowed in a certain gate the buses at another gate and the major streets would not need the officers anywhere except inside keeping crime down. Maybe a few officers could be assigned posts at the park & ride locations to deter crime. I did see quite a few officers in groups sitting or standing around on the major streets. Total waste of manpower and overtime. Just saying....

Did the Eye notice how the pandering Ken "I'm running Mayor for sure this time" Sanchez withdrew his legislation on the $5 million for rank and file retention bonuses? True to form Sanchez buckled under the bullying tactics of Rob Perry. Instead of standing his ground and demanding action on a settlement, Sanchez drops the legislation and hopes Berry and Perry will settle the case. The Eye has been had again by Sanchez who says one thing and does another.

THE TREMENDOUS REGULATOR... said...

I don't understand why ANYONE would be afraid of that red faced bug eyed pussy ass motherfucker Perry. The guy is nothing but a loudmouthed punk who thinks he is tough, and would not last a minute if someone were to call him on his big fucking mouth.

I have an idea. If this guy is so tough, here is the offer. He can step into the cage with me for three five minute rounds and all the proceeds can go to housing for the homeless. Sign the fucking waiver and step into the cage you bigmouthed fucking punk bully.

You know where to find me cunt. When you are not petting puppies and fucking with old guys.
