The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Who is the Best Person for Office?

The Eye On Albuquerque would like to offer our best choices for public office. We will give you both sides of the story from our point of view and you can decide how you wish to vote. We want people in office who are “community care takers.” Simply stated, we want people who really care about the community and who will work to protect and preserve our rights. We here at the Eye On Albuquerque wish to make it very clear; any candidate who has ties to the nefarious Darren White or Berry is un-endorsable.

Any doubts on your end? Use our search bar and type in Darren White or Berry. There will be story after story that will serve as proof as to why we will not endorse any candidate who has any ties to these two thugs.

U.S. Senate

Democratic Party

Martin Heinrich is our current District One Congressmen. Heinrich has served the people of District 1 well. We see Heinrich as what we term as a “community care taker.” Notwithstanding, Heinrich whipped former Albuquerque Public Safety Director, Darren White, to the point it was embarrassing for White. Heinrich’s defeat of White is a milestone because the public finally saw White for what he really was and saved us citizen from a huge embarrassment and disappointment. Heinrich has a proven past and it appears like a reliable future. The Eye sees Heinrich becoming our next U.S. Senator.

Hector Balderas appears to be a “great guy,” but we see his problem at this point of trying to reach too high too fast. The Eye sees Mr. Balderas doing great things and reaching high places. For this man; it is only a matter of time.

Republican Party

Heather Wilson is an old “has been” who lives in a pretend world detached from reality. There are several issues that plague Wilson going back in time and to the present. Wilson has had strong ties to the nefarious former Albuquerque Public Safety Director, Darren White. This issue alone has to raise concerns to all of us about honesty and integrity. Wilson also declined to participate in a KOAT-Journal debate with her opponent Sowards. Why? Is she afraid to face reality? Wilson had spent three dollars for every dollar Sowards spent. This will not be a seat that is “up for sale.” Wilson in her politic ads attempts to “scare the hell” out of us in a pitiful attempt to get our votes. The Eye has and will never succumb to cheap shots or pressure. Wilson has already purchased her slot on the Republican ticket; the Eye On Albuquerque does not endorse this candidate for any position.

Greg Sowards is an unknown candidate, Sowards is a Las Cruces businessman. However, Sowards who is basically unknown still commands 20 percent of the popularity. We feel Sowards is a better choice than voting for the Heather Wilson/Darren White ticket. Fresh blood may be the perfect choice!

First Congressional District

Democratic Party

Michelle Lujan Grisham appears to be the best choice overall in comparison to the other Democratic candidates. Griego is running a dirty smear campaign against Ms. Lujan Grisham which tells us that Ms. Lujan Grisham MUST be the superior choice.

Eric Griego does not “walk the walk or talk the talk.” In his TV ads, Griego claims he wants to put Wall Street in jail. Yet, he had eleven warrants for his arrest. What was Griego’s plan; to put Wall Street in jail from his jail cell? There are also allegations of DWI? Griego cannot advocate enforcement of the law for others when he has failed to follow the law himself. Is more simple terms, Griego is a hypocrite. Running a dirty campaign is not helping his plight either.

Martin Chavez is another old “has been.” Here we have another hypocrite. Chavez fought avidly against APD and AFD officers participating in the “Rumble in the Rio.” The Rumble in the Rio was a boxing match by public safety officers to raise money to buy under-privileged children bicycles. Yet, Chavez in his TV ads portrays himself as a boxer who can throw a “punch.” Oh yeah, Chavez tried avidly back in the day to keep secrets of domestic violence hidden away…Marty, his dirty politics, and his red light scamera’s have all been voted out by Albuquerque; let’s keep it that way!

Republican Party

Janice Arnold-Jones is running on the Republican ticket unopposed. Ms. Arnold-Jones will have to prove and earn her worth as this election moves forward.

Bernalillo County District Attorney

Democratic Party

Jennifer E. Romero offers new approaches and fresh blood in the D.A.’s Office. Romero is well educated and educated in this current century. Her young at heart approach will breathe a much needed new life into the D.A.s Office. It is time for a change; change in the right direction. Romero doesn’t owe anybody and will start with a clean slate. After watching Brandenburg blunders, we here at the Eye On Albuquerque believe Romero is the best choice. Romero will prove herself as a “community care taker.”

Kerri Brandenburg is an old politician who has become a “has been.” It is time for fresh new blood in the D.A.’s Office. You will never see Brandenburg in a courtroom unless it would politically benefit her. Take for instance the Astorga case. Brandenburg was there to politic for office and not to fight for the death penalty. That case could have been better handled by several different D.A.’s in her office who have actually handled cases like this before and have the true expertise. Can anyone say, “Credit Hog?” Brandenburg owes her soul to the devil; that means it’s going to be hell to pay… Brandenburg lists all her education dating back to the 1970’s. She’s out-of-date and should be out of office. Brandenburg is another politician who has strong ties to the nefarious Darren White.

Republican Party
None

Senate District 18

Lisa Torraco
is a highly educated attorney with a vast knowledge base. Torraco is a family woman who we believe has the best interest of District 18 at heart. The Eye On Albuquerque sees Torraco as an up and coming “community care taker.” She will serve us all best in the State Senate.

Gerges Scott may have forgotten about how women are supposed to be treated. There are skeletons in Gerges closet (AKA; Gerges Calderon); take a look at the United States District Court, CIV 99 0139 JC. It does not paint a flattering picture. Why did this candidate fail to disclose this information? We have other proof that he speaks derogatory of women. Guess what? Gerges is being back by the nefarious Darren White and Albuquerque’s CAO Rob Perry. Gerges is clearly a bad choice for any office.

Lisa will do well. I'd like to see her as DA after she gets her feet wet up in Santa Fe. I only hope Martinez/Mcclesky don't get their hooks in her.

This list is virtually identical to the union support list for candidates...you guys are a group of transparent union thugs. Most 34s I know, like me, happen to be conservative...why do you keep supporting these progressive commie candidates...just because they support your labor union? You're losing sight of the big picture guys. We're cops...not auto workers...

Too bad Paul Heh won't run for anything, he would be a better candidate than all of them you posted.

Jackson said...

I hope Paul Heh runs for City Council some day. Lisa is a good choice all around. For those who think she is anti-cop, think again. For those who think she is Susana Martinez (aka McKlusky) buddy, think again. She has been at this long enough to know who her friends are and who is a political hack. No way Hump Back Heather can beat Martin Heinrich. Waste of a vote to even bother with that one.

Anonymous said...

Most 34s I know are GDIs and don't give a damn what a list says but if you think Lisa Torraco is a liberal, you are sorely mistaken. Sowards is much more conservative than Heather "I am an independent voter" Wilson.

To 10:32 - If you get your wish you will be working for $10.00 an hour. If your Mgt has it their way all your benefits will be gone. The community can see what a great job Berry has done by keeping the worst thugs employed. And yes, he is GOP. Basically, you suck!

Anonymous said...

Well Paul Heh may run for something we have to keep on him and support him. I think he can be convinced!

I saw a facebook post that Jennifer Romero stated that she keeps up with The Eye and know about the corruption and double standards going on. I'm willing to use my vote for her as district attorney and maybe, just maybe she will go after Shultz, Banks and Feist for lying on the stand and depositions. It's worth a shot and time for a change.

Lets go for Hector, dont' forget he was an ADA and really did some good cases for Cops and never talked bad about law enforcement.

Anonymous said...

Democratic debate - Hector Balderas vs Martin Heinrichs. Two class acts. Didn't attack each other, but stuck to the issues. Should make other politicians take notice. Very positive!

M. Lujn Grisham is an asshole. At the BERNCO County Commission meeting when Sheriff Houston requested 10 new deputies, she counter-offered with 5 deputies. OK, so when the final vote came down she, Maggie H. Stebbens and Art De La Cruz voted for it. Weiner and W. Johnson voted against it, because they wanted the 10 deputies hired which the Sheriff requested. SO, Lujan-Grisham will use it for her political gain and will say "I voted to add deputies to the voted against it." And nobody who doesn't pay attention to local politics will know the truth. I HATE POLITICS AND I HATE POLITICIANS. That's why Lujan-Grisham did that, she's a political whore just like all the rest of them.

Anonymous said...

Hopefully she sees the truth in this blog and guts the administration like a fish. Hopefully she puts the "leadership" in jail cells. All it takes is someone willing to do the right thing.

@ 11:45...typical Union scare tactic. If what you say is true...then 92.7% of this country is working for $10.00 and hour without benefits, since only 7.3% of the entire work force is unionized ( thankfully down from 7.6% last year). It's bullshit, complete bullshit. The market drives compensation and benefits in the real world. Your union is, like all other public sector unions, just a campaign funding organization for Democrats...and a house of corruption and pay to play. You'll see, someday and someday soon, public sector unions will be illegal...we're almost there. You can't continue to get what nobody else does on the backs of tax payers...they won't put up with it. Read the writing on the wall guys...

Come on Eye, Michell Lujan Grishem. She blames the repuclicans for everything as well as Eric Griego. They both are too far left.

As far as Lisa Torocco. She would be a great Senator and DA.

I for one do like Heather Wilson, she stands up for the unborn and against the GLA.

Just saying

Proctor at it (weird how Proctor's stories come back up when Schultz is in town):

Three Albuquerque police officers have been suspended without pay in the past two months for various misconduct, officials said Monday.

Internal Affairs investigations into two others, who are on paid leave, are ongoing, officials said.

The three officers suspended included one who was arrested on charges he physically assaulted his wife, another who was caught on a cellphone video camera fighting with a man he was trying to detain Downtown and an officer drinking inside a bowling alley while his police vehicle sat outside.

The stiffest of the penalties, a one-month suspension, went to APD officer Jeremy Hollier, who was arrested shortly after 12 a.m. March 4 at his home in the Northeast Heights after police received a call from Hollier’s wife, who told a police dispatcher he had choked her, threatened to kill himself and banged his head against a wall several times, according to a criminal complaint filed in Metropolitan Court.

In a 911 call released to the Journal, the woman can be heard telling the dispatcher that Hollier is an APD officer, although that fact wasn’t mentioned in the criminal complaint. The woman tells the dispatcher that Hollier has gotten physical with her before, that he has threatened her and himself with a gun and says: “Ever since he became an Albuquerque Police Department officer he’s been losing control and he’s been violent.”

The five-year APD veteran was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on felony charges of domestic violence and aggravated battery on a household member.

The charges were dismissed without prejudice to being refiled last month, according to court records. No reason was given.

Hollier’s suspension is to be served in two 80-hour blocks, according to redacted disciplinary documents dated April 27 that were provided by the city of Albuquerque after a public records request from the Journal.

On April 10, APD officer Johnny Salas received a notice that he had been suspended for three days and restricted from his police vehicle for 45 days. Police say a citizen reported Salas was drinking at the Silva Lanes bowling alley in March and his police car was parked outside.

And on May 16, APD officer Andrew Hsu was suspended four days and required to get four hours of training on arrest procedures, de-escalation techniques and report writing. A cellphone video shows Hsu punching and trying to detain Jayson Bernard after a fight had broken out on Central Avenue Downtown. Hsu can be heard cursing at Bernard.

APD’s Internal Affairs division still has ongoing investigations into two officers accused of domestic violence against their wives: Joey Sigala and Jonathan Romero. The officers are on paid leave, and criminal charges are pending against both, officials said.

APD officers arrested Sigala last month after his wife called authorities to say Sigala had beaten her and stolen some of her belongings. He was charged with aggravated burglary and false imprisonment. Sigala, a former police union president, also is the focus of a State Police criminal investigation into allegations of embezzled union funds.

Romero’s wife called Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies last month after the couple had argued about a pending divorce, court records show. When deputies arrived, the woman told them Romero had forcefully pulled off her wedding ring. Deputies observed bruises on the woman’s hand, and Romero told them he had grabbed the ring from her finger. He is charged with battery on a household member

The best person for office is one who is ready to hurt feelings on a large scale without regard to the ramifications to their political future in order to do what is right and put these criminals in prison. It is about time these criminals pay criminally instead of civilly for their crimes.

All this union noise is just that...farts in the wind. You're going down, just like Wisconsin...party is over fellas. I would work without a contract starting tomorrow. We'll see who keeps their mouth shut when push comes to shove and they are facing prison time. They all shit the bed and now they have to sleep in it. Enjoy you crooked bastards!

Hahahahaha........
The city will do whatever it has to retain and recruit good officers?!?!?!?
That is about the most hilarious thing I have heard in my life.
Yea Right....They can't get recruits. The training at the academy will prepare them for wiping asses in a nursing home or counseling runaway youths, but will surely get them killed in the street the minute they are faced with a determined criminal intent on killing them. They do not want real cops anymore. They want yes men who do as they are told, and who are an acceptable loss, rather than a liability when they defend themselves. They are hanging cops every day for doing their jobs. Hell, they are framing cops to use as media fodder to get their asses out of hot water. They wouldn't care if one was killed today. The city is a mess run by self serving criminals. Criminals don't care about police officers.

@ 10:06, I don't disagree with all of that...but guess what...this hostile and corrupt administration...this strife between unions and non...none of it exists in the private sector...or in a non union shop. I've done both...I know. You're better off. All the BS is a product of an adversarial environment, created by unions. I'm a 34 just like you, but I fucking hate unions...they are truly evil. 9:57 was 100% correct...there is way more to come on the union. We work for the public, our boss is the voter...we don't need "protection" from them...public unions are a sham. They just want your money and power dude...wake up.

I don't dislike unions! I hate scum bag union officials who steal money and act like union funds are for them to live it up in 5 star hotels, eat hundred dollar meals, and give corrupt asshole police officials $500.00 Christmas gifts to make sure they stay in the good graces, all while selling out officers in every way possible. I can't stand even more the piece of shit that defends the actions of these individuals when they are in a position to creat a change and then follow down the same path. That is where hatred lies. Justice will come swift and hard hopefully.

Anonymous said...

Totally agree your union officials are corrupt. However, the membership has been complaining for years. Where were all of you when they were running the ship aground? A union is only as strong as their membership. Most people want the union to do everything while they stand back and do nothing. Too afraid of the big bad Chief. We are ready to retire, so the fight will be left to the young and if you all don't mind Mgt doing with you as they see fit then let your union fall apart. The folks that paved the way are getting out of the workforce the rest is up to you. We're tired of the fight. Either fight for what you want or pucker up.

Anonymous said...

I don't deny the ancient history of unions...and how they WERE necessary...but guess what? We are talking about government sector unions...very different than the UAW or the IBEW. Government sector unions are a sham...its a campaign finance strategy for democrats. It's the conversion of tax dollars to political contributions. You do realize that only 6% of the whole country is unionized...are you making the case that your unions are protecting all of those other 94% of people today? That's absurd...the market drives pay and benefits, in order to compete...you need the best people...so you're forced to offer the best pay and benefits to get them. Yeah, it means you actually have to perform to get the job and keep it, welcome to the real world. Unions ruined the manufacturing industry...not NAFTA...Unions destroyed Detroit and the auto industry...not Japan. They have bankrupted countless cities and counties. It's not sustainable that government jobs are better than public sector jobs...it's just not. Do you think it's fair that tax payers subsidize your early retirement, while most of them may never actually retire? Or that they pay for a horrible education for their kids...and that they have no choice? Thank Unions...

Anonymous said...

To 1014 - I've worked in both worlds (btw - public is gov't) private and public and there is little difference. It is just easier to fire someone in the private sector. My pay is comparable in both worlds. Unions are both in the private and public sector as well. While I'll agree there are some worthless corrupt unions it is usually because they are in bed with Mgt. If you think market drives pay and benefits you are sadly mistaken. What do you think happened to benefits such as: pensions, vacation and sick time. Look at Enron, World Comm and I could go on and on. Look what Mitt Romney did for a living. The rich and powerful could careless if you give your life as a cop, soldier, firefighter or anything else and if you don't think they'd like to take away your 20 year retirement think again. Actually, I hope it does go the GOP way because I'm not in your shoes. Good luck with that! Hope you enjoy your 10-20 an hour salary with no benefits.

I do believe it is fair that tax payers subsidize early retirement for law enforcement.

You should try wearing a firearm and badge, dealing with the worst of society (i.e. rape, child abuse, homicide, etc.) and see what it does to you after 20 years. It is not a 9 to 5 job shuffling papers or stocking shelves.

If you want law enforcement in the community there are costs...monetary, physical, emotional and mental. Those brave souls that protect us day and night deserve every benefit we, the public, can give them. The same goes for out military.

If it were not for these unselfish folks there would mayhem in the streets and NO ONE would be able to have a life of choices.

@ 1:17...I agree cops and firefighters have tough jobs. But isn't what you do a calling? Don't you choose to do that? If your a real cop...would you ever be happy doing anything else? Does a garbage collector, a park worker, a city office worker and an Mayor's secretary all deserve the same retirement you get? Is that your assertion? That just because I work for the city I get better pay and benefits with early retirement and thank you tax payers? Even though these workers famously work less and provide less service than a private sector employee doing the same work and can't get fired? It's just not sustainable my friend. If you find a way to make public sector union political contributions illegal, and only allow these unions for public safety employees...then I'm agreeable to talk.

This current monster is bankrupting the country...and unfortunately, cops and firefighters will end up getting lumped in the same group because of their unions.

If you don't recognize that public unions are destroying public education...you're blind. Most people (96%) are not in a union, their pay and benefits are purely market driven. You can't hang your hat on OT laws forever. You're obsolete and now you're the problem rather tan the solution.

Anonymous said...

I agree that law enforcement, firefighters and soldiers (who went to war) should be taken care of. However, I just watched George Stephanopolis (sp) and it appears the GOP doesn't think so. They think there should be a lot less of you with no bargaining rights. Good Luck!

Anonymous said...

Here we go with the pure market crap again......10:19, what pure market are you talking about? There sure isn't one here in the US. And regarding political contributions, sorry the neocons on SCOTUS said such contributions are a form of free speech and merit 1st Amend protection as outlined in the Citizens United case. Which of course also applies to corporate funding of campaigns. So are you disagreeing with what a majority of conservatives are in support of?

Anonymous said...

All this union talk doesn't make sense. What about all the 51s the union abandoned and they lost their jobs and retirement. A union doesn't mean your job is any safer.

Anonymous said...

LOL 4:33, Public Unions have been donating since day one. It's tax money...and the dues are compulsory...they aren't donations. nice try

Anonymous said...

11:08, nice try? You make no sense, of course unions have been donating from day one like corporations. Of course unions collect money from their dues but the funding of those dues isn't by gov't collected taxes, it's by employee personal contributions.

Anonymous said...

@ 6:22, you're trying to compare a corporation that is privately funded and has a board of directors and shareholders donating money with a union, which is protected by law and takes compulsory dues from it's membership. These are not "personal contributions". How many of your members would choose not to contribute if given the choice? This is about Democrats protecting (and growing) public sector jobs and benefits, at the tax payers expense, in order to get a cut. It's disgusting...all under the cover of protecting workers. From what we don't know, the other 96% of the country doesn't need the help.

Don't muddy the water...I said government sector unions...I know you like to make it seem as if a union is a union. It's not, government sector unions should be illegal (and will be soon). I don't give a damn what the IBEW or CWA does with it's money, that is a first amendment right. Government sector is different, now the government is it's own special interest...what a scam.

Anonymous said...

6:22, it is tax money...government salaries are paid with 100% tax dollars. Employees do not have a choice in union membership or dues. So the Dems are literally skimming the salaries of government employees. While protecting the unions and growing their membership base, which is an obviously reciprocal arrangement that is (currently) protected by law. Again, I don't give a rat's ass about private sector unions...they'll die on their own (and already have over the past 20 years) because the market can't and won't support them. It's Government sector unions that must be eradicated.

Anonymous said...

No it's not tax money, it's personal money. Just because wages are paid out of funds generated by taxes doesn't mean they are still "tax" money. And regardless of the union--public or private--they have a constitutional right to spend money on candidates who they want. Both parties know this and both parties pursue the $$$. And no, gov't sector unions won't ever be illegal as much as it seems you'd like fascism to take over.

Anonymous said...

@ 18:00...it's patently obvious that government sector unions are nothing but a Dem "take" on government salaries. Everyone is on to it dude...that's what is happening to the teachers unions...they will all crumble. This isn't fascist...skimming the money and bankrupting the country to do it is. As long as you get to retire before that happens I guess it's ok, right? Long as you're getting yours...

Anonymous said...

Thx 11:42 you prove the point being made "dude." But it seems you're too ignorant to even realize it.

EVERYTHING will be PRIVATE. Roads? Some billionaire will put in toll booths just to get out of your neighborhood and every 1000 ft. thereafter. Water? Whoever owns water will do with it as they please. How's that taste to ya?! Police? Y'all might make out ok since only the rich will be able to afford protection -- pretty much how it is now, only more blatant and a lot LESS of you. Firefighters? LOL! You'll only be paid for fires you put out and only IF the burning house onwer is up to date on their hu, um, account. Go ahead vote Repuglican. We'll get the Corportracracy we deserve.

It's rare to find a left wing accountant...anyone that has to deal with our disgusting tax code should be to the right....of course it does keep you in business doesn't it?

See guys...these are the kind of wacko lefties the union encourages and cavorts with? I bet he's a gun control weirdo too...they claim to be for individual rights...unless it pertains to your money, guns or religion. As long as you can get high all day and not shower...who needs money? Funny how we bust these guys all day long...and then count on them to support our union at the ballot box...

You definately have more balls than the 5th floor because they share only one and pass it around, BUT you surely don't have bigger balls than I, and that is a fact. Anyhow, with that statement I know who you are, and hope you are doing well. :)
