The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. EDEN & BERRY PARADE THEIR IDIOCY ON USA-TODAY. AGAIN

http://krqe.com/2014/09/10/in-national-press-apd-chief-eden-admits-systemic-problems/
We all know how our little misspoken chief of APD, Gordon Eden, can't help but put his foot in his mouth whenever he talks. Especially to members of the national press corp. And it's become routine where Eden we'll say something and then days later back away from what he said. (Imagine if an officer did that in IA?). And now even the police union is sticking their nose in the comments and saying Eden didn't mean what he said. Noticeably absent from this mess is Berry/Perry who are doing what they do best when something like this happens. They hide. But don't worry, your loveable Eye is going to weigh in with some questions....

Eden told USA Today that some APD officers don't deserve to wear the badge.  Does this include command staff?  Does this include Major Gonterman? On what standard is Eden talking about? Maybe he's just talking about fat officers? Or ones who can't shoot?

Eden's comments to USA Today should be entitled, Why I Will Fail, by Gordon Eden.  He places all blame on the police union.  This is wrong.  He is vacating his authority.  Changes starts at the top with his command staff. Eden says officers sue and win their jobs back. Who has done that? We can only think of Rusell Perea in recent memory. Maybe if the department didn't illegally fire officers they wouldn't have to sue to get what was taken from them.

Want to change the SWAT no camera on mentality?  All Eden has to do is give the Swat DCOP / Commander a day off the next time no video is recorded.  This would change the culture overnight and save us $50,000

Cultural change at APD starts at the top, not the bottom.  Berry never held Schultz accountable, it continues with Eden.  Blaming the union is deflection.  Take accountability and responsibility that is what Eden and Berry must do, but they are incapable of that. In the recent history of the department's most notorious cases there's not only been NO accountability but there's been rewards (think about promotions after the Han incident, the Ellis shooting, the Boyd shooting...)
Berry and Eden seem incapable of holding their appointees accountable.  They point fingers and blame others (union) and they do nothing more.  At least Marty fired Gil Gallegos, now that is holding people.

And what about the District Attorney?  USA?  NM AG?  Aren’t they suppose to be the check and balance when the city and police command staff refuses to police themselves? Where's the DOJ?

Eden's "we can't track misconduct" statement tells me, a citizen who made mincemeat of MM and EJ over at IA, that anyone connected to IA for at least the last 15yrs needs to go.

Has anyone ever just asked why do all of these people lie so much? I mean, that seems to be the million dollar question here. Between the lies and the manipulation, it is really out of control. These people outright lie about everything they do. They have no shame to their game and they blatantly do it. When they get caught, they claim that they were taken out of context or misunderstood. That is if you are lucky. They usually attack back with counter accusations and more lies. There is mounds and mounds of evidence that people in the city attorney's office lie, Schultz has lied numerous times, The mayor has lied, the new chief has lied. The past deputy chiefs lied and all of the PIOs lie all of the time. Not inly that but they contrive and scheme ways to manipulate information or play games to avoid scrutiny or deflect blame from those who should be held accountable. For example, the USA story comes out, then they all of the sudden release video footage that they have had for months of officer Simmons being beaten by a criminal. My question is do these lowlifes really sit around planning to capitalize on certain videos and stories and sit in others to use at a time advantageous to their agenda of providing a constant smoke screen to their criminal enterprise? I have read previous posts about how this administration would use a line of duty death to advance their agenda and I believe it is true. Sadly, I truly believe that the mayor, CAO, and chief wouldn't lose a minute's sleep if a first responder in our city were killed. Yea, they would show up with their fake sad faces waiting for the ceremony to end so they could get their free dinner and get back to filling their pockets like it never happened the very next day.
I will say that we have the most disgusting bunch of cowards and honor-less individuals running this city out of any city in this country.

If you want to change the cultural of an agency, you must change the leadership, that is to say, change it for the better. Gil Gallegos was NOT fired, he saw that he would no longer be effect as chief and stepped down. He, as a longtime law enforcement professional saw that he no longer had the confidence of the public. What is different now is that Eden has never been a municipal police officer, in fact, police supervisor for that matter. He doesn't get it. Having a life long career of political appointments does not qualify one carte blanche (except of course in this case). He has lost public confidence but he is too ignorant or arrogant to see the truth, hard to say at this point. Just when I think I have figured it out, he puts his foot in his mouth. I say while they are changing the law for sheriff's qualifications, they ought to add police chiefs to that proposed law change. I see even the journal says the "jury is still out", how much loner will it take for the last few hold outs to see that his appointment was a grave mistake for the Albuquerque Police Department and it's citizens. Even Eden's most vocal supporters have backed away and this could cost Berry his political career, so it may not be a total loss, if this so pleases your readers.

Thank You.

I don't know if the spell check doesn't work on these filler forms, but some of your posters have a lot of errors. Not happy, vote them all out!

@ 12:17 Wow the Chief should not allow his wife and kids to posts here. Or maybe it was the rest of the 5th floor getting together to post it...

Somebody tase Janet Blair and that fat pig Brianna....releasing Apd video now to draw sympathy is just as disgusting as disgusting as concealing it because it looks bad. just obey the law and release the shit. Especially the footage from that Westside fight on Ortiz NW...

Gonterman "burnt ear" guy, Montano "I'll take your wife and when I get her, I'll stalk her constantly" guy. Rosemont "take lewd photo of fem 34 guy", Eric Garcia "Wife swap, sleep with Karen guy", and the leader, Chief "I never was a cop, political hack" guy. Hmmmm wonder what's wrong with this Department???

It appears the folks over at the Journal have tossed out the Perry/Berry pablum and replaced it steaming hot Citizen/Subscriber reality.
-------------------

"It’s hard to blame the department’s problems on a few cowboy cops when it’s the command structure that:

⋄ Sends 47 officers, including snipers and tactical units, to an argument between two men. A 60-year-old, intoxicated, unarmed man was dragged off unconscious after bean bags, wooden batons and flash bang grenades are fired at him, a police dog is sicced on him and he is Tasered.

⋄ Sends more than 40 officers, including a SWAT team and State Police officers, to the Sandia foothills to extricate a homeless mentally ill camper, who was fatally shot after a five-hour standoff. After James Boyd fell to the ground, bean bags were fired at him and a police dog was set upon him. Boyd died the next day.

⋄ Sends two armored vehicles and APD and Bernalillo County SWAT teams to the West Side home of a 50-year-old retired Air Force veteran with mental health issues who was accused of threatening his family with a gun. After the family was safely away he told police he was disabled, had taken sleeping medication and just wanted to sleep. Lt. Col. Armand Martin was shot and killed when he emerged firing handguns after police launched a barrage of flash bang grenades and tear gas into his home.

The list could go on, but none of these is reflective of a department philosophy of de-escalation and doing whatever can reasonably be done to avoid an officer-involved shooting."

All Departments in this city are run like this. ALL DEPARTMENTS. DOJ can you even hear us?? It's. not just the sexy, headline -grabbing public safety admins. it's APD & AFD but it's also every other less sensational dept. whose managers are hired on a basis of nepotisim to the department director. Administration lies. & steals. I've seen the stealing but will never say anything. If you speak up, they send you to employee "wellness" and claim that you cannot get along with co -workers. whistleblowers get retaliated against and the clerical union is NO HELP. AGAIN I SAY DOJ YOU NEED TO INVESTIGATE THE ENTIRE CITY DEPARTMENTS FOR CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS!

Today's Albuquerque Journal paper editorial said: "Reforming APD will not happen overnight, either. But it’s a culture change that must happen, and it requires getting the rank and file on board."

Good luck with that when the APD culture is made up by scumbags like Gonterman, Roseman, Montano, Garcia, Huntsman, and jolly good fellow Eden giving them all a pass.

We're getting our ass handed to us by endless calls for service and we're supposed to get on board??? Buck Ferry!!!!!

The Albuquerque Urinal editorial has not one original thought between all of the scum bag assholes that collectively bang their hollow heads together to bring you all the latest is propaganda, garbage and the utmost in yellow biased journalism for their purpose of greasing their inappropriate relationships with high ranking city officials and to pay back dirty favors. Everyone knows it.

Janet Blair is nothing but a paid conniver and manipulator. While most people are out there working or doing something productive, this skeleton with skin is paid to play games. The children and grandchildren of people like these parasitic sponges must really be proud of them.

Nice to see KOB sending Chris Ramirez to do a fluff job for Berry (his old boss) regarding the trip to Las Vegas.

Why didn't KOB send someone who is not in Berry's pocket? Ramirez worked for him at city hall, I have no faith that he will produce anything hard hitting when it comes to Richard Berry.

4 is not on my side. 4 appears to be on Mayor Berry's side.

I do agree with 11:30 post. If there was any leadership at all, there would be re-organization, accountability, and supervision beginning at the Sgt level. There is none of that, I was at the Main today, Detectives everywhere, stupid crazy.

As atty Paul Livingston has said, the whole process is rotten and corrupt. So what did the city attys at the French law firm do? they got him disbarred! They shut him up legally because he's representing ex city workers who will drop an a-bomb on this admin after the way they've been mistreated at the personnel board. Follow the money folks! The steve French law firm is raking it in and we hard workn tax payers are footing the bill.

The idiocy on display at the city council meeting tonight was hilarious. Perry tried to butt-in while a councilor had the floor and got put in his place, just short of being told to shut the fuck up...

Then the new, worthless $350,000.00 sound system, probably bought on another no bid contract, went into an endless loop which caused a citizen, who is blind, that has been complaining about the piss poor sound in the council chambers for years went ballistic...which caused the five APD officers (YES FIVE!) that where sitting around trying to stay awake (one being Nick Wheeler dressed in body armor) to pile into the chambers, obviosuly thinking the blind guy was going to kill everyone with his walking stick.
The unprofessionalism, waste of tax payer dollars and unwarranted/bewildered police reaction were all on display in one tidy package.
I'm still laughing...

Nick Wheeler..... Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.....
Oh boy. This place really is a shit show.

I thought Lopez said all the bad cops were fired?

REMEMBER THE LAST CITY ELECTION?

THE CHICKENS HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST.

Anonymous said...

I'll never shit on officers for wearing body armor, but showing up to a city council meeting with a drop holster and a ballistic vest? I'm surprised nobody complained about the meeting smelling like Summer's Eve.

AFSME and all the other City Unions knocked themselves out to get Diane Gibson elected and did very little and next to nothing in the Mayor's race. The Fire fighters were the exception in the Mayors race. The APOA endorsed no one and did nothing in the Mayors race. Most if not all the money raised went to help Gibson and she is about as effective as tits on a boar.

Anonymous said...

Who the hell cares that Wheeler was at a city council meeting wearing body armor? Is body armor optional now? At least he showed up, which means he is one of five who cares about whats actually happening in this city. Get a life!

Anonymous said...

Then we will show up with body armor! Who the hells town is this anyway? The politicians and cops or is this OUR town? It's time to raise hell and take this town over from the pigfuckers who rape it for a fast buck then leave it in the dust! Strike! Protest! We have to tear it down to build it back up the way we want it.

7:27 give it a break

FACE IT IT WILL NOT GET ANY BETTER UNTIL THE NEXT ELECTION.

Anonymous said...

Just a clarification : when you say "OUR" town, you have to include everyone that lives here. That includes cops and politicians. Strike? Sure, but "tear it all down"??? You sound like a 60s hippy. Public perception and voting booth. That's how you win.

Anonymous said...

@ 10:41 HAAAAAAAAAAA better after the next election? You have got to be smoking crack... This city will always have the same lame ass people running for office. What we need is someone that has retired from back east to come to this city and turn it on its head. Get all the shit bags out of here and start over..
