The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Eye Told You: About Time

We've been telling you about The Formerly Almighty Alcalde's Eco-Folly for two years now. Marty's move to the green was designed more to capture headlines than to save the planet and Albuquerque taxpayers got to pay for it.

Finally, after two years of telling you about the damage and the cost of E85 Eco-Fool, the Berry Administration has pulled the plug on the program and moved the city back to good ol' unleaded.
"It's no longer cost-effective for us to run on ethanol," said John Soladay, director of the city's Solid Waste Management Department.
And Ford's failing fuel pumps?
Police Chief Ray Schultz said in some cases, the fuel pumps on police cars failed in the early morning hours, with no way to get them fixed immediately. The administration also said some sedans in the Fire Department fleet were unable to respond to emergencies.
Chief Schultz didn't do the problem justice. Our Eyes tell us Marty's Eco-Fool program caused fuel pumps to fail about every 2,000 miles. With 700 plus vehicles - a large portion of which are Ford Crown Victorias - it's pretty easy to see that there were a large number of vehicles out of service at any given time.

It's about time common sense broke out at the city hall and the Berry Administration deserves credit for making the right move. What was even more shocking is that even Councilor Benton is on board.
City Councilor Isaac Benton said he isn't concerned about the switch, especially because ethanol takes a lot of energy to produce.
"Even though it's made from agricultural products, it could be a problem in and of itself," Benton said in an interview. "I know there have been real questions about the mileage per gallon you see with ethanol. I don't really consider it to be a sustainable product."
Not sustainable... Eye've been tell you that for some time (read it here). The simple truth is that when an "alternative" fuel costs more and requires over a gallon of fossil fuel to produce a gallon of the alternative fuel - not to mention some 1,700 gallons of water - it really isn't much of an alternative.

Why did Berry keep the two EcoFools (Soladay and Schultz) around in the first place? Why are there so many Chavez people around Berry? It took him HALF A YEAR to get rid of EcoFool!

Whoopadeefriggindo! Berry can make the change to unleaded but he CAN'T CHANGE SANCTUARY CITY! That's the BIGGEST thing he ran on. Change THAT, Chicken Shit!!

Arizona is fighting for the future of the country and this blog gets all gooey-EYED over gas and makes Sanctuary City a "sidebar"?! Just as bad as Berry.

Happy Cinco de Mayo, AlbuRquerque. Thanks to RJ Berry you're STILL a SANCTUARY CITY!!

like it or not we cannot afford to keep going the way we are. go to unm emergency room on any given night and you see a sea of mexicans, all of them lining up for thier free healthcare at the hospital. go to the schools and see how many mexican girls are having babies knowing that they can get tanif and all the other free stuff to make it profitable and if you dont think that the parents are promoting this think again. im sure your gonna say not all the kids are mexican. you are right but about 90 percent are. its gotta stop and it starts with people paying for their own kids......

Well finally back to common sense and thank you Kevin Smith for bringing this problem and the solutions to the administration and the city council attention. Lets give credit where credit is due. Thank you Kevin. Many of you saw me at Chevron OR Phillips 66 putting gas in my unit and asked why ? I wanted to save my fule pump in my unit and I did . This not only saved the city about $600.00 In the cost to replace the pump but it saved me the aggravation of not having a unit to drive for a week or more while it was getting repaired. The little money it cost me was well worth it. But lets not forget I am a bad person ( read about me in the journal April 10 2010 ). My squad also attempted to save fule pumps and save money to the city by not running our vehicles when we were not in them. That is of course unless you had one of thoes vehicles that everytime you turned it off you would have to jump start it. We as city employees have to do what is right and what works. The politicans have to stop pandering to all the feel good groups and stand up and do what is right. SHOW ME SOMETHING THAT REALLY WORKS AND IS COST EFFECTIVE AND I WILL USE IT. But to kevin Smith and The Mayor my fule pump thanks you.

This is an intelligent move, finally. I think Marty wanted to make a namesake for himself at any cost to anyone. Berry is doing a good job, he can't fix everything all at once so give him a break. I don't know him personally but he inherited an overwhelming mess that he has to pick through.

There's a reason lots of illegals (if you're offended by calling them that, look up the words in a dictionary and see that they fit) come to NM for health care. TX and AZ have denied them care, but good ol NM keeps taking it in the rear budget wise providing for people who are not here legally. So not only do we get our share, but AZ and TX's shares too (don't forget they are both larger than poor little NM!!

When Jon Soladay was the director of Fleet Maintnence he was pushing hard for E-85 even though he knew it would increase maintenance cost. Wipe your chin Jon your serving another master now.

Mayor. Start governing on what you ran on and got elected to do. Stop taking advise from the fools you surrounded yourself with. Be your own man. make decisions not what others are telling you to do. 70% of the people nationwide want a crack down on illegals and what comes with it; murder, rape, kidnapping, burglary, drug dealers.
Stop listening to the liberals.

you got rid of E85, now its time to get rid of shultz.

I had hoped Berry would be better, but I guess not. I voted for him because I was sure he would fire Ray Schultz and end this city's sanctuary city status. I was wrong on both counts and he won't get my vote again.

Comment above; you're completely right.
Berry was a mistake. His hiring of the wrong people as well. Dareen? Come on. Phony, fake. Got some of the old guard Republicans still fooled, but not for long.
Keeping Marty's leftover like Schultz, another big mistake. When a new mayor comes in he needs to choose his own man. ( but then again, Berry isn't his own man either)
As for Fairy Campbell, again, wrong choice for COA. Campbell went on a hiring and firing rampage, like he got off. Distributing termination notices like he was on an over dose of Viagra.
Conservatives aren't going to forget Mr. Berry's liberal bent in hiring Obama's,(Campbell) Gary Johnson's, ( Darren) & Marty's (Ray)leftover has beens.
Tough talk during the campaign, that's turned into a "milk toast"
Mayor. Marty took charge, and didn't leave it up to a bunch of 'prairie pussies' to run the city.

Hey David; who is Maryanne Hatchitt?
Ah... weren't you married at the time?
Let's pray. Mayor who's your eye candy? Can't resist a women in uniform.

I'm a citizen with no ties to the city government at all. I come here to get the 'scoop'. I voted for Berry because I was sure that he would: Fire Chief Schultz, eleminate the Safety Director position that Smarty Marty invented, and end the Sanctuary City crapola. I'm disappointed that Mayor Berry whimped out.

Why is there a paid position to be the Chief Safety Officer? Don't the APD Chief, AFD Chief, and the Homeland Security Poohbah head their own departments. WHY wasn't that phoney position eliminated when Berry became Mayor?

I hate to see him go down the drain and have Marty's Poodle Ken Sanchez get into the Mayor Office.

Please, Mayor Berry! Step up to the plate and start swinging!
