The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Is He Just a Monkey?

Albuquerque City Councilor, Ken Sanchez, is calling for the replacement of Mayor Berry's Chief of Police, Ray Schultz. Sanchez claims the chief should be elected every four years just like the mayor. According to Sanchez, the full City Council may have a change to vote on this proposal next month.

Councilor Sanchez, who is at the forefront of this attack, has also thrown his name in the hopper to run for mayor. A mayor needs to control and have control of his top administrators; especially the Chief of Police. Sanchez appears to be frustrated but he is acting foolishly by making outlandish statements. This will not gain him any votes; it will only cause people to speak under their breath and talk about how foolish this attack really is. It would be more prudent to encourage the voters to pressure the Mayor to correct the problems and issues in the police department.

Sidebar
Here is a prediction from the Eye; this proposal from Sanchez will fail. This council vote only buys Berry and Schultz a few more months to “skate” on by.
End Sidebar

Berry is just as guilty as Schultz when it comes to all the problems that have plagued APD. Sanchez should be placing the pressure where it belongs; with the mayor. And for those political jesters like Brad Winter, they too have the blood of the citizens on their hands. Backing a mayor who refuses to correct a clear and obvious problem because he is the same political party is just rubbish. It is time for the voters to put these problem councilors out along with this mayor.

What do you think? Is Schultz a simpleton and nothing more than Berry's monkey who does what he is told or is he a washed up hag who needs to leave?

Give us your thoughts?

First the chief has to go and so will he mayor if he does not rid the city of R. Schultz.
The frustrated SWAT officers are a mere symptom of a poorly managed PD. The hiring of a new police trainer is nothing more than a PR/PC move on the part of the chief to help cover his failures.
We can no longer tolerate the massive judgements against the city, the embarrassment of the firings of our police officers.

The culture of spying on fellow officers, the lack of trust among officers, poorly thoughtout promotions, control of SWAT situations by the PD attorney and the Area Commander all need to go.

To bad APD didn't place everyone Officer that Schultz administration had screwed over into one Team. That would be one bad ass Team that no other Team could every compete with. Schultz you suck and you know it. Can it be any clearer to you that you need to leave. P.S. take all those DCOP's with you.

If the entire city council wants evidence for the removal of certain people within APD, they need to fill up the room at Doyle and Woolever's arbitration hearing on August 1st and 2nd. They will see how hard certain people worked to hide evidence, omit information, lie, intimidate witnesses, violate proceedures, prevent due process, slander, and file false reports against two officers who justifiably did their jobs, and kept themselves and others from getting killed by a wanted and armed felon.
A few minutes in that room is all they will need.

City Councilor Ken Sanchez proposing that the Albuquerque Police Chief should be an elected position is nothing short than his admission that the Mayor and Albuquerque City Council are ineffective and not capable doing their jobs of management or oversight. What a pathetic effort just to win votes but showing what a fool Sanchez is. If the Council does not like Schultz, then call for a public hearing and a vote of "no confidence". Shame Mayor Berry into firing Schultz. Electing a Police Chief will give the community a voice only in the selection process. The voters will have no management authority or control to swiftly remove a elected Police Chief for incompetence, malfeasance or unethical conduct. The one and only option would be impeachment which is a drawn out and ineffective process. There have been many elected Sherriff's of questionable integrity and character that have wrecked havoc on entire Sherriff Departments. Current examples are Darren White and Dan Houston. Voters have to live with their mistake until the next election all while a department is destroyed. An elected police Chief would be on equal political footing with the Mayor and City Council and would be free to do whatever he or she wanted to do with a City Department employing 1,400 classified employees and with one of the largest city budgets. The entire Police Department would be politicized far beyond recognition within a short time. An elected Chief of Police would mean that anyone over the age of 18 without any law enforcement management experience, credentials, background or training could run for the office and if elected would manage and be responsible for the largest city department without any oversight from any civilian. The Mayor and City Council could not be held accountable for the selecting an incompetent or a fool for such a sensitive position involving the public safety. Sanchez is now part of the problem and he thinks he is the solution.

Since ABQ is the way it is, a corrupt mayor and police chief need to have a wedge driven between them forever. If that means employment term limits for the chief to stagger and limit his tenure with the that of the mayor's, then so be it. I think what Ken is saying is don't let these clowns get too cozy together. When you have a city where someone can be a mayor for as long as they want, and that person is absolutely self serving, that mayor becomes a dictator, and then their chief of police becomes the arm of the dictators regime. This needs to end now. Sanchez cares. HE really does. He cares about the city, and the police. Don't knock him for being drastic or desperate in desperate times. He is at least stepping up, and throwing down against a corrupt police chief. If you want to do something, offer help to the guy. Show up at the meetings, and be constructive. The more inside information and guidance they get the better. Show these guys the door. There is no reason to let these guys hang on any longer. The fact that they all think it will look bad if the chief leaves now with the incoming of the new head of the academy and the fact that he wants to take credit for the new BS computer crime program is more of the same disgusting, self serving evidence that all these malfeasants think about is image, and what things look like. It's all they care about. Well in that case, the city needs to wash out these stains.

Last evening the media did a story about how more robbers are now using real guns. Were we all supposed to think they were not using real guns? They task some tiny little girls who should be wearing girl scout uniforms with briefing the media on this. Are you kidding? What does this kid know about anything? A plan is being implemented at the police academy to soften the officers now?!?!?! It is obvious that the chief would rather see cops killed, and will do anything like he does to APD officers in the name of looking like he is doing something. Doing something? Yea, he's doing something. He's obstructing justice by using his officers to throw up a roadblock against a Department of justice investigation into him and his antics. He knows that they will find a treasure trove of high level corruption when they come in. It's not about the oficers. He knows that, but he will use the illusion that it is to TRY to throw everyone off.

I wish Ken Sanchez all the luck in the world in dismantling this regime, and think the 7:33 poster is right. They will crap themselves when they see what was done to those guys. Ken Sanches is an honest guy. Give him a chance.

Mary Han's death should be openly investigated by an outside agency. What happened at this crime scene was and embarrassment to law enforcement.

With the mass exodus of 34's at APD due to the its' widespread corruption along with the new PERA legislation I wonder if now is the time to re-visit the concept of a Metro PD that encompasses the entire county and is lead by a elected officials (sheriff/under-sheriff). If this were to happen the city council would get its' way, and we would get rid of schultz. There are various pros/cons to a merger such as this, but when it has become apparent that APD is unable to operate in a legal and ethical way due to its' leadership and inherent corruption one would think that the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the county (sheriff) would be within his authority to take over. APD has been unable to keep up with attrition, much less the city's growth. We were just shy of 900 officers with ~340 in the field during the early 90's. And today, not many more officers on the dept or in the field but the city's population has errupted, crime has errupted, there are unrealistic expectaions in non-tradiltional police services while calls for actual emergencies and actual police matters have also errupted. If APD is going to be run by way of politics, why not also lets its' leadership be subject the same political scrutiny. Let us as 34's and voting citizens along with the citizens that we serve vote in/out the person who represents us. It seems to me that if this were to happen the COP/DCOP positions could be eliminated all together. I think Coucil Sanchez would most definitely retract what his stance if he were to run and win the mayoral race as it would take certain power and discretion from him, but I would personally support an election for the sake of public safety/public trust.

Let's play a little game...

Who is it that hates cops more than anybody yet is a fixture in the state's Republican party?

Who is it that openly gloated about raiding the city with endless litigation and benefiting from a sound no settlement policy?

Who is it that is Darren White's go to guy for legal advice and cover when caught?

Who is it that is Governor Martinez's go to guy for personal legal advice especially when caught using personal emails for state business?

Who is it that was a horrible public defender and got drummed out of the state's democratic party?

Who is it that defends rapists and murders all while asserting himself as a conservative and advocate of McClesky's hidden government agenda?

Who is it that has his finger prints all over the Southwest Companions client list?

Who is it that is in the back pocket of Texas oil and efforts to redistrict the state's voting blocks for the benefit of big business?

You all know who....

There are plenty of good applicants for APD, but when you have a burned out (never worked the field) cop in polygraph getting rid of them for unknown untruthfulness you are goig to have a problem hiring. Either get rid of the polygraph part of the process or make it where the polygraph guy and background investigator must determine what was lied about. If they can't come up with the specific lie then pass them along

If the PERA legislation becomes law you will be able to work to 90% of your salary. With so many double dippers proving officers don't really want to leave I think many would stay and boost their retirement.

Any one hear if the legislature is going to move to sunset the current double dippers?

To July 2012 @ 6:27 wishing Ken Sanchez luck in dismantling this regime??? Ken Sanchez's votes help build the regiime. Councillor Ken Sanchez for 7 years has been an easy going, get along kind of guy, nerver being agreesive about anything until now when he wants to run for Mayor. COUNCILLOR KEN SANCHEZ VOTED TO CONFIRM DARREN WHITE AS CHIEF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER. COUNCILLOR SANCHEZ VOTED TO CONFIRM ROB PERRY BOTH CITY ATTORNEY AND CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER.

There are so many people unemployed that recruiting should not be an issue.

The issue is how we recruit. It takes far too long and we allow some people (polygraph for example) to have to much say in who gets hired. Before we start removing candidates for untruthfulness we should know what they were being untruthful about. If all we know is the polygraph person said they were being deceptive, but we can't actually prove they lied about something specific, then the candidates should move forward and the background investigator should have to do more research.

Polygraph is not a perfect science. It is not allowed in court. Why are we getting rid of good candidates based upon it?

Oh yeah, it worked really well with Levi Chavez and all the others who have gotten into trouble.

7:03 AM is correct, mary Han's death should be investigated other than APD.
Fact: Mary Han was having an affair with APD Officer Grover, could he have set her up?

APD Admin trampled on Tera Chavez's crime scene and now Mary Hann's. I sence a very corupt and dangerous trend. Media likes to play gotcha with all the foot soldiers but where are they now with these idiots?

Anyone see the news on channel 4 on sunday? No let me ask again, Cass did you see channel 4 news so you can report the Officers taking pictures with their personal cell phones? I know I let the cat outta the bag on that but Cass burned her own Team members on an incident and they are on admit leave. Lets see what happens. Same thing happen down town and Paiz started her own investigation based on a news report.

Beth Paiz actually did something other than posing for pictures for the media and standing behind Schultz? That is news.

Ref 7:33 & 6:27,
You have a few things right on.
I wish those guys all the luck exposing those that wrecked their careers and lives with lies.

You want the skinney on what was done to them? Everyone should know it, because God knows the media won't print it.

They were put on administrative leave after their commander Murray Conrad had cleared them through an IA investigation that was submitted through DC Paiz. DC Paiz told the biggest lie to the entire city of Albuquerque. Everyone knows it. Paiz told Conrad and several others including those in command positions that she backed those officers and that their actions were justified. She also told one of the officers the same thing, and there are apparently witnesses to that.

The chief assigned the same SID sergeant that was involved in several other less than ethical undertakings to the investigation with what "appeared" to be a make it happen attitude.

Before a criminal or IA investigation was started, Chief Ray Schultz brought Joey Sigala and Ron Olivas up to his office and showed them the video of the incident in a direct effort to get the union to step away from the officers and not represent them, so they would have no support therefore causing them to crash and burn. Joey admitted this in front of several people, and one of them even has it on belt tape.
Prior to the investigation even starting on those officers, the IA sergeant Peck was in Sigala's office every day. Apparently disgussing the matter. Ask the executive board about that. Joey had a very big mouth. He also told his roomate a whole hell of alot about the case.

Witnesses were threatened, and Fred Mowrer was brought into the equation to scare the oficers into going away. One of the officers was told to change their story or get indicted.

The chief, did this.
Feist directed the IA sergeant's every move. He'll say he was only taking orders, but that is BS. You don't have to follow an illegal order. And you definitely don't direct police personnel to just say something you want them to in an investigation. That's another thing, That IA sergeant tried to get everyone he could to decide against those officers.

The chief lied to channel 13 telling them nothing was going on, and then gave the video to channel 7 and the journal the same night because he knew they would slant it against the officers. That whole thing was conspired and a set up from the beginning. Beth was told to change her stance. She caved in and made a liar and fool out of herself on television.

They all knew that Blume was Albuquerque's most wanted. Every cop in the city knew that he would shoot a cop in a minute. Everyone knew he was wanted for a homicide and several violent crimes. Schultz knew it, and he lied to the media, painting him just a suspected car thief. All lies to make the officers look bad. Another thing Schultz didn't tell the media was that Blume's girlfriend was in his truck with his gun the night the officers caught him.

They are going to lie at the officer's arbitration. Take the documents and recordings that were sent to your lawyers and destroy them when they do. Every lie they are going to tell is there, and they are the ones running their mouths. Let them try and deny that.
They all thought that they kept their dirt in their little loop but right is right and this was not right.

Good luck and God Bless!

I wonder if Peck has realized all his "off the record" comments weren't "off the record"....

Schultz's house of cards is tumbling down. Too bad our mayor is dim witted and surrounds himself with bullies like Rob Perry and self-centered trolls like Paul Kennedy.

Wasn't Beth Paiz one of the chicks with guitars in the Robert Palmer video? She just changed her outfit and stood behind Schultz instead.

To 9:46,
To attack a person like Grover shows that the political toilet here in Albuquerque will do ANYTHING. Officer Grover is a damn good cop who has integrity and did his job. Something you know nothing about. He has the guts to stand up for what is right. Another thing you run away from. So why don't you grow a set, find the man, and say it to his face? Just another nutless coward running off at the mouth because their hiney is al chapped and their friends are all on their way to a jail cell. Boo Hoo motherfucker. You think it's bad now, give it a few days. It's only just begun. Nobody is going to be able to hide behind the bullshit that they have been hiding behind for years. It's going to start with one lie. That person is going to fall, when questioned and it's going to be connect the dots all teh way to the top. Hope ya'll enjoyed the ride because it's over.
