The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Berry's Sin City

Albuquerque's mayor Berry has done a belly dance around the tent sin city camp. This is just ugly to begin with but add a ding-dong berry to the mix and it becomes un-stomach-able. Meanwhile, you have Gordon Eden who was quick to back a bad shooting but doesn't do anything about illegal camping within the city limits who are blocking a sidewalk.

Okay, so nothing here is within the norms of everyday thinking people.  The local community are complaining about crime and the infestation of the "criminal element."  Where is this group of people using the restroom at? Where are they dumping their trash? Where are they getting money to do what they do? They are victimizing a strong traditional Hispanic community; the Barelas community.

So what does the city leaders do? Pretty much nothing.  They cater and coddle the homeless who are committing illegal acts.  Why doesn't the city take a stand on issues; the occupants are clearly wrong. When it comes to certain issues the city should handle, that are legitimate, they don't?  The answer for us here at the Eye is clear; it is incompetent leadership.

Go give the warning to show you are compassionate. Give and offer resources; there are between 30 and 40 different agencies who help feed, cloth, shelter, provide legal assistance, access to telephones, etc... here in the Metro area.  After offering the olive branch, it is time to take care of business.  This is a life-style choice not a mandate.  The city is now going to spend over one million dollars to "help" them.  What about the community that was victimized? What about the rest of our poor who are truly trying to escape poverty? No, the city is going to waste money on people who do not want help but to be left alone to live a life on the streets.
SIDEBAR
Many of the poor simply need a hand up and not a hand out. With $1,000.000.00 you could give 200 families $5,000.00 each or 1,000 individuals $1,000.00 each.  But the city will waste it on bureaucracy and city red tape.  In the end none of our homeless will truly see a penny.
END SIDE BAR

Bring in a few troopers in: issues citation, arrest and/or issue criminal summons to the offending parties. Call in a trash truck and haul it all off or tag it into the APD evidence.

This is a form of civil dis-obeisance and cannot be tolerated.
Case closed.

And the leadership of Albuquerque cannot understand why people do not want to move here, why businesses do not want to move here and why they cannot staff the APD fully.  Albuquerque is in desperate need of competent leadership.  Maybe next time, huh?

Yo Stelth, before you go spouting off about campers illegally blocking a sidewalk you better go take a look at it now. 2 blocks of rock you couldn't traverse with Mars Rover. Looks like someone at City Hall needs to be arrested for intentional endangerment of the public.
Or is this just another case of 'do as we say, not as we do'?

Anonymous said...

It will become a magnet if its not stopped, maybe berry wants it to be the largest homeless camp in the Southwest.

Anonymous said...

Good cops would walk away from such a cluster.

Tent city is an example of what happens when you try to apply Republican "common sense" to real-world problems. Republicans saw homeless people hanging out on the 4th street mall and were repelled by it, so they decided to get rid of the problem by eliminating the 4th street mall. Where did they think the homeless people would go? Homeless people don't stop existing when you kick them out of the plaza or the 4th street mall. They're going to continue living close to the services they depend on downtown.

Anonymous said...

This whole " we care for the homeless" stuff is crap. All any city wants to do is hide them to make the city look cleaner and safer. I for one don't care for the homeless. Albuquerque has enough programs for them, so when you see someone on the street, those are the ones who are scammers, criminals, and drunks. If a person really wants to get off the street all they have to do is ask and vouchers to provide them with anything and everything will be thrown at them. But the mayor makes himself and the city look stupid cause he can't come up with a plan and stick to it. They are just plain stupid.

Anonymous said...

There is not a homeless issue in Albuquerque. There is a problem having too many drunks and punks out on the streets harassing people and getting away with it. How many of us have tried to give a homeless person food only to have them get mad because they want money to buy booze. They stay down town because all the shelters give them 3 meals a day. Stop falling for their crap and mabey they will move on and we can start using downtown again.

Anonymous said...

This city is not capable of handling any issue including homelessness. Just a few examples. They are back in the red for a budget, they have a joke for a police department, they have one of the most violent downtown areas in the nation, and can't create even one job for its citizens. Is there anything positive that this administration can come up with. Maybe they should put all of APDs bosses out on the street to live among the homeless. Lord knows they aren't doing crap for those who work and pay taxes.

First let me get off topic for a minute. Couldn't believe when I heard that APDs officers voted for a dues increase. The union pushes to help chiefs get a bonus without paying a cent in dues but then the officers agree to pay more out of their pockets to a corrupt union leadership who helped the chiefs. in most places the brass takes the hit so that their troops can benefit. . You guys have to be one of the stupidest police unions in the country. Ok now back on topic......is there any surprise that the city and APD can't combat crime and homelessness when they can't even monitor their union officials. Maybe with more money the union can now take the chief and mayor to a nicer restaurant when then negotiate next time.

Anonymous said...

If you pull your dues now you neutralize these APOA bandits from stealing any more of our money. We are already being forced to pay the fair share. Pull your dues now!

Anonymous said...

The union will be paying for all of Sandy's defense. You watch!

Anonymous said...

To 3:57,

Obviously you have no clue, or are purposely omitting what the dues increase is paying for. Either way, the world is full of uniformed idiots such as yourself. As for the drunken homeless...if the city council would institute a public intoxication ordinance law enforcement could enforce it. As it stands now, it is not against the law to be drunk in public or stand at an intersection panhandling. Educate yourself and realize the source of the problem, politicians (like Garduno) not the police.

Eye is it true Corvino resigned too? If that's the case then what the fuck is going on at our academy?!?!?!?!

Anonymous said...

Yes its true the academy is losing all its staff. Casias left, Corvino left, Snow died(RIP), Wolf left(good riddance, Archibeque is leaving soon(but not soon enough), but dont worry theres about 5 or 6 TDY positions out there with officers who have been hiding from their normal duties and we just saw there is an opening for FIVE more TDY officers out there. Dont despair the academy is doing just fine.

I heard the City of Phoenix actually bribed some of their Homeless into accepting one-way Bus tickets to Albuquerque. Perhaps the City of Albuquerque should consider sending them back.

A lifestyle choice?? really?? so let me get this straight... it's better to live in a tent in a parking lot in Barelas than to go to work everyday and pay for the roof over your head??? and you're saying these people MADE THIS CHOICE CONCIOUSLY?? now, I recognize many of them made bad decisions in their lives and may be living the consequences of those choices, but to say they ACTUALLY CHOSE to be homeless becuase it was easier and a free ride???
enact an ordinance and arrest them???
YOU ARE AN IDIOT!!!!!

Go to ANY 3rd grade class and ask the teachers which of their kids are struggling with reading......... those are YOUR next generation of homeless!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HELP THEM??? ANYTHING?? ONE THING??? EVER???
The police are being left out to dry by our KOCH PUPPET governor and so are our 3rd graders.......hmmm wonder what the future looks like??? or do you care as long as it doesn't interfere with your golf game at Tanoan!! Lets move tent city to the Tanoan Greens!!

Anonymous said...

I'm more informed than you know. I understand that the dues increase will pay for a legal fund. Which means the majority of officers will be paying for the same screwups legal bills. I also understand that the idiots that call themself the union board will still be getting over $150,000 a year of original dues money to play with. What else do they use that money for other than trips and meals? They are ripping you off and you don't care. That makes you idiots. And who cares if they enact a new ordinance for panhandling. There are no COPS to enforce it. 90% of drivers right now, including cops, are driving while on a cell phone and there are no cops in sight.

So APDs response time for a life threatening incident has risen to almost 11 minutes. A rep for the union is quick to blame it on staffing but I have my doubts. A few months ago I called for an officer to take a vandalism report. It took her almost 3 hours to arrive. She spent 15 minutes with me and left. I never got a report number so I called a friend with APD about 2 hours later to find out how to contact her. He looked it up and said she was still logged at my house and according to the records she never left. Where is the supervision? Shouldn't a sergeant notice that an officer has been an a easy call for longer than necessary and make them go help other people?

I was outside a business downtown a few days ago and noticed a drunk homeless man passed out on the sidewalk off Lomas. Over 5 police officers, including sheriffs, passed right by him and didn't even slow down. I seriously don't think the homeless are a top priority.. Luckily AFD did show up after we called and hauled him off. Seems like it's another case of slimy politics for city hall.

Whoa, Stealth - that's a lot of hot air and steam you blew off there! It could be an indicator that you need to haul your foaming ass to the nearest vet clinic and make sure your rabies shots are up to date.

What is SMART Policing Associates? Seems Ray Ray failed to disclose to Memorial Village PD that he is also a consultant for Taser International but does say he used to work for SMART Policing Associates.
Since the RTCC is built on SMART Policing grants did Ray TJ and the rest of the brain trust somehow spin out another private company from APD funds. It would not be the first time. Just ask Friends of SWAT's Jason Peck and ARAPA'S Karen Fischer.

The vast majority of homeless are homeless due to mental illness and substance abuse of some kind.

How do we know Schultz didn't let them know about his employment with Tazer?

Anonymous said...

Off the subject, since when do FET's have to go through the same hiring process as Academy Cadets? The last one hired didn't.

Off topic but needs to be said:

APOA sold officers a bill of goods by going to a pre-paid legal service (PORAC). PORAC has co-pays and out of pocket expenses and some parts of the plan you can only use 1 time in a year. So on top of the dues paid those present voted for an additional $18 increase on top of what you were paying. APOA you could have used current dues to pay for legal if you were not throwing good money after bad. Now you really have a big slush fund. Great Job Guys!! More cigars and lunches for all------

Kathryn Levy,
You told the media that the administration has nothing to hide. You are a hippocrite and a liar. You have advised this administration and the previous administration for years on how to play the shell game with the careers of officers that the administration has wanted to use for their own means and the lives of citizens who were destroyed and lied about by cowards who voilated their oaths. You are a bottom feeding piece of scum. You can act and put on your best performance that you are not worried about what is coming, but all things are eventually brought to light. You have obstructed people's due process, you have lied to the courts. You have lied to arbitrators. You have lied to reporters and the media and you continue to lie. Every word out of your filthy mouth is a lie and everyone now knows it. With that dumb blank stare on your face, you telegraph it well. A smart person would have gotten out while the getting was good, but you are stupid and arrogant. The media knows that YOU do not want to have your witnesses look stupid testifying and either lying under oath or trying to rationalize illegally firing someone in order to protect a bunch of criminals making boatloads of cash on the backs of everyone around them like your buddy Schultz. It will be noce to see the other shoe drop after the consent decree is signed. You belong in a prison cell with everyone that you have done this with. Everything you city attorneys do should be televised and YOU ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD BE WEARING VIDEO CAMERAS EVERYWHERE YOU GO.

Every one of Levy's cases should be audited to show the disgusting amount of lies, fabrication, intentional omissions, purjured statements, intentionally missed court deadlines, stall tactics, slander, libel, mistakes, and outright crimes committed in presenting them were committed. Every single one is riddled with misconduct that would disbar any other attorney and put their clients in contempt if not charged with outright conspiracy to defraud the courts.

Let the light shine.

Open comment to Jeremy Dear: your personnel process with the personnel board is going to be a marathon. The board is controlled by the mayor and city attorneys; don't expect justice. I know a lot of people who have been through this process for many years now such as Paul Salazar (9 yrs), Michael McGrath (7 yrs) and there are many more. Paul Livingston represented all the fired transit workers until they got him disbarred! It's a dirty rotten process they will drag you through so be prepared. This is how attorneys make money off of the tax payers of Albuquerque.

Anonymous said...

Who's Paul Livingston?

One WhO Knows said...

For those of you who don't understand here what is going on, Schultz greased the deal for Tazer with the city to provide substandard equipment via a no bid contract to the tune of almost two million dollars. Next, he and the mayor do whatever they have to to make sure the department of justice does not open an investigation into APD because they will eventually find out about this and all the other no bid deals Schultz was involved in. Next, Dear is fired for "insubordination" for not turning on his lapel cam which was a Tazer product in order to cover up the fact that the Tazer cams are inferior equipment. When will people realize that this administration will do whatever they have to to cover up their mistakes? Eden and the rest of them knew the wire pulled out of Dear's cam. It is an inherent problem with the Tazer cams that they did not want getting out because it only confirms that the Tazer deal was a scam to benefit Schultz. Now everyone from the top down are caught in lies again like in other cases and they are terrified of being seen getting ripped apart on the stand under oath over it. The city is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars putting cases like these on to cover for their attempted obstruction of the DOJ investigation into APD and their subsequent discovery of all of these things going on behind the scenes. All of these very shady cases against employees over the last 4 years are all connected to this.

I hope the media breaks it off in Levy's and Bingham's asses.

The only person that has an inch of standing as to the media filming this circus or not is Jeremy. And even then the Open Meetings Act (Law) still gives the media the right to tell him to take a hike.

The days of those, who think they are in power, bluffing with a hand full of jokers are over.

I just read a KOB article reporting that APD will no longer be responding to non-injury accidents. This means that it will be one person's word against another with absolutely no input from a sworn officer as to relevent crash scene evidence or information that may provide crear cut evidence as to fault. AGAIN, the citizen who is innocent and in need of help is punished because a dog's asshole of a mayor, coward punk bully CAO, criminal city attorney and cadre of perverts liars cheats sadists abusers masturbaters frauds imposters and idiots on the 5th floor have served only themselves and have run this place into the dirt. Coos are leaving in droves. Calls are NOT up. There are NO OFFICERS out there. 250 officers on the streets. All of these area commands with three shifts, vacations, sick leaves and injuries..... Do not let the liars blow smoke up your ass. There are no cops. They are leaving because this administration and department infests and ruins their lives. Criminals are running the show here. People who should actually be charged with committing crimes and conspiring to commit crimes are running the city. It is disgusting.

Councilors,
Do you want officers to stay?
Open your fucking eyes, and quit acting like the elephant isn't in the room. Not one of you political pussies and cowards have the spine to call out the real problems, because you are so worried about your political careers down the line and don't want to hurt anyone's tender little feelings because of who they might be connected to. We all know it. The cesspool of a small little world you all swim in, and don't have the guts to clean up because of the few who like that way is disgusting. You know what the problem is, you all just want someone else to say it for the lack of your own balls. Fire Eden. He is a gutless liar with no spine. Fire Perry. He is a drunk bigmouth coward fraud who thinks he is a bully. Impeach that hollow wood headed clown of a mayor Berry who thinks everyone is blind and stupid and hunt down and prosecute every malfeasant peace of shit who destroyed this city while filling their own pockets and then running out the back door like their asses were on fire when the Department of Justice came in. The city attorney's office is a fraud on the courts, and APD is nothing but a criminal enterprise lead by such pussies that if it wasn't for what they have protecting them, and what they have to hide behind, the criminals at high levels in their pockets and the unlimited tax funded war chest to fund their antics and defense of their antics, they would be stripped nude, slammed in a bucket of tar, and kicked into a pile of feathers until they pissed shit and vomited all over themselves. Until someone steps in and puts an end to the blatant corrupt conduct and arrogant retaliation against those who step up and expose or stand up to it, the place will continue to slide into the toilet. You have everyone leaving, and nothing but egotistical failures and perverts who think they are qualified to be where they are because they have carried the dirty water or because everyone looked the other way while they got away with murder their whole career. There is no more hippocratic or lawless police department to work for in the country. The place is an embarrassment. So, if you do your little survey, print the truth when it is over, because we all know what the truth is. The public is being lied to every day by a bunch of scum who could not stand up to a minute of the retaliatory scrutiny they level on those they sabotage. The level of scum permeating this place is unbelievable and able to be documented at every level. You people in leadership roles here who have no command presence, no shame in crying victim and their only qualification is their willingness to do ANYTHING for their handlers. The place is pathetic, and nobody wants to be here and it is purely because of a group of lowlifes. When you do your survey, name names. There will be no improvement until there is accountability, contrary to Berry's proactive willingness to use his hollow power of suggestion tactics he loves so much. Save your $5,000. The truth is free.

HR hearing officers are paid by the city. They are far from impartial...the hearing process is a joke! How can a person get a fair hearing from an "arbiter" whose position and income comes from the city the injured party is taking action against! What a joke! But all of Albuquerque is a corrupt joke and nothing but the corrupt and evil live there. You all deserve exactly the kind of crap you are swimming in! Where are the so called "good" cops I read about on this blog? There are no "good" cops...only cowards who will do anything to protect their phony salaries! Yep, money is more important than honor or integrity! APD is proof of that!

Chief? Each Deputy Chief by name? Whoever is leading the academy these days? Kathy Levy? Rob Perry? Mayor?
By giving someone the ability to say yes or no for each person it will send a clear message EXACTLY where Officers feel the issue is?

If you really wanted to send a message to City Council ask one more question
Yes or no, do you seriously consider leaving APD before you are eligible to retire from APD?

Does Gonterman explain to the Citizen's Police Academy the proper proceedure on how to drive stun tazer the ears off of citizens so that they are more understanding of why in the hell a citizen would need to be tazed numerous times above the shoulders on their head in the exact same spot repeatedly over and over again?

Maybe Roseman should give the class on how citizens should understand why high ranging police officials should be understood for their inability to resist taking photographs of female employees breasts.

Garcia should give a class on sexual gymnastics in stairwells of city buildings and how citizens shouks understand why law enforcement does these things.

Let Eden give a class on how to do a song and a dance when you get caught lying and why that is alright as long as you can make it look like an honest person lied to cover for your cowardly behavior.

That would be one hell of a Citizen's Police Academy if the truth was going on in there, but then again, if that was the case, it wouldn't be an APD Police Academy.

Her fat rotting carcass will be here until she is no longer needed, her fraudulent case load runs out, and or when she and her co-conspirators get caught, go down, and get prosecuted for their behavior.
