The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. GHOSTS OF ALBUQUERQUE PAST

Through out the years of the most corrupted administration ever, the Schultz administration, there have been many tales of nature at play, putting incompetent people in places for the appearance of something politically fitting, promotions based on cronyism, open marriages, sex outside on lawn furniture, howling so loud that people called the police, because they thought it was an injured animal, favoritism in the promotion process, where less senior, and incompetent individuals were promoted over more qualified candidates, and all around poor behavior that would disqualify a candidate from being a police officer if they had these things in their background.

At this point in time, any prospect of this administration should be screened almost as if obtaining a Q clearance with the DOD. We feel this is not happening, and it may be either out of a lack of people wanting the positions, lack of education, or knowledge on the part of the new administration about the past of these candidates, or worst case scenario... political favors stemming from the input of those from the past administration or those close to them; the very same people responsible for destroying the place.

We feel that two positions here were filled with disastrous, candidates. Deputy Eric Garcia should be shown the door after he assists the transition team. We do understand that the transition team does need someone who has the proprietary knowledge needed to show the new people around, but that is it. This is because the Chief and Assistant Chief ran out the door before they came, leaving nobody. Like the Saddam Hussein theory, no head is worse than a bad one because a vacuum would collapse the place totally. We understand that. You can find many reasons for our above opinion within the confines of this blog.

Bringing Harold Medina back was another decision that needs to be looked at, along for the reasons it was done. The reasons we will leave for the near future, but this decision is not good either, because if Harold wanted to really fix the department, or contribute to keeping it from declining like it did, he would have stayed instead of running away in 2014, at the height of the heat the DOJ brought. And run away he did because he left without the usual place to land like most do when they retire, because he has only been the chief there for a few months. We wonder if he will bring his buddy Art over, and we wonder how many times he’s called his good buddy Ray to brief him.

Below is a great article describing why there needed to be a total house cleaning....

ABQ FREE PRESS COMMAND STAFF BACK STABBING CULTURE ARTICLE

There has been a culture of unfair promotions, and back stabbing within the police department. This has lead to a culture of a fearful and hostile work environment for years. We know it, and the evidence shows it. We all know about the culture of everything else that has taken place within the police department too. And we really know that promoting incompetent malfeasant and dishonorable impndivuduals, and protecting them led to all of this.

Creating an administration from the bottom up is disastrous for the person who will be running it, and will be stuck with political appointees of somebody else’s choosing. It is an even worse predicament for a police chief to have to work with people below him, who were not picked by him, or picked with input from him, because this creates an air that subordinates are protected. When this happens, you have the usual undermining of command, and or mutiny that will occur.

We want to see this administration succeed, and we want to see all of the wrongs righted. Right now is the best opportunity for this. Because of what is at stake, we will zealously pursue what is right. Bringing back problems is not what is right, especially when these problems are all connected to Ray Schultz, and the past administration. We all know how things work, and these actions grant access to people like Schultz and the past administration. All it takes is a phone call, and the efforts of a new administration are sabotaged. That is what these people do, and this needs to be understood.

When you look back into our archives, you can see why the Eye on Albuquerque was started. It was started because of the antics of the Marty Chavez administration and an out of control city and police department staff, lead by Ray Schultz and his boys. This is why there is an issue with bringing back Lawrence Rael as the Chief Operating Officer. This is very concerning, but we will observe and see.

Now we know a fourth deputy chief of police position is open, and it is highly probable that it will be a female. What female that it could be may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

You see, many of the well known females who made rank, and who the pattern shows could have a shot, would further plunge the city, and police department into the toilet. There is no way someone who lied on an IA investigation involving fraternization, lied on national television, involving DOJ issues, and use of force cases, and who ran away when the feds came should be considered. There is no way someone who was so incompetent that a position was created for them that the failed so miserably at that a lieutenant was sent to do it should be looked at. This same person who has so many moral skeletons in their closet that it is disgusting, should not even be allowed to have a law enforcement certification. This very same person promoted by Berry himself, and covered by Schultz should remain not employed by this administration. And there truly is no place for a commander who smacks their officers on the ass inside substations, or has sex outside in their back yards for the neighbors to see and hear. There definitely isn’t a place for someone who gets promoted when they had sex in a hot tub with a deputy chief years ago. Right? But after all this is Albuquerque we are talking about.

The place defies logic at times, and we all know it’s slim pickins, but there are choices.

Like the old saying goes... What doesn’t come out in the selection process, will come out here on the Eye on Albuquerque.

Geez... Albuquerque; what a garden of earthly delights.

Till the next time....
Cheers!
The Eye

I cant say that Geier is perfect and will solve all the problems that APD faces but I think if he is willing to put his relationships aside and take the hard stand to get rid of bad leaders and worthless units then I think he can be very effective. Who knows how long he will be in the position but he has the opportunity to make some very important changes. These changes can make APD get on the right path towards positive change.

The new chief has the knowledge of where the current leadership of APD has came from. He knows the history of current commanders like PS, MC, JS. etc etc. Hopefully he uses that knowledge to make changes and not make the mistakes of promoting worthless people into positions they don't deserve. Having a relationship with a city counselors son should not be part of the promotion process. Being friends with a current DC should not get you promoted. Lets stop all this "business as usual" "that's how its always been done" crap and make some serious changes.

I am not sure if I can believe Keller or any politician when he/she says they will do an extensive search for qualified people to make the City better. Geier is good but I doubt he really wants to be APD Chief for the next 4 years. Now I do know that Eric (sex in the stairwell) wants to be Chief but all we can do is pray that it doesn't happen. The list for people wanting the DC slots must have been really really short due to us getting who we now have as interim. Lawrence Rael is a ridiculous choice. And if Dinelli is selected for ANYTHING we are really in trouble. When we voted for Keller we thought we were getting NEW BLOOD but sounds like its just going to be a bunch of recycled trash.

Someone, anyone, please explain to me why you are all up on Keller’s nuts.

From his speech today, “Our community deserves an apology for its historical tone at the top of the department and a culture of excessive force that has hurt our community.

I also want to tell the victims of families who have been hurt by unnecessary use of force that I am sorry, and that we are sorry as your city government. We will work every day to restore trust in our community“.

How can you not see that what he said is a GIANT fuck you to police officers, not just a criticism of the recently departed command staff?

I’m really not trying to be a dick here, but come on. He fell over himself apologizing to the community apologizing for YOUR (officer’s) behavior; I didn’t hear him apologizing to Daniel Webster’s wife for being murdered by that shitbag a couple years ago.

Also, Eye, I looked at your posts from 2009 relating to the election of Berry. You were very complimentary to him and seemed to be pleased that he was elected (Shultz aside). Do you really think you’ll feel the same about Keller in a year? In 4 years?

Do you honestly not see that ALL these politicians are smooth talking, self serving shitbirds? It is plainly obvious that Keller is an opportunistic carpetbagger. I wouldn’t be even a little surprised if he ran for fucking governor next year! Look at his history so far!

He doesn’t give a shit about Albuquerque, the APD or the citizens. He cares about himself and his crew of Harvard and Berkeley educated inner circle. And I didn’t vote for Berry historically, Lewis, Keller or Colon recently. Voted for Obama twice and Gary Johnson once, so I’m not some pissed off republican weirdo. I’m just a regular dude who is genuinely worried about the community I was born in, raised in, went to college in and work in (Keller was born to a rich ass banker, high tailed out of here for college and only really came back to be a politician).

I understand the frustration over the last administration, but come on. Keller is not Albuquerque’s savior.

Otherwise, Eye, keep up the work. If you see this I would love to hear a response.

To the Eye: you have made a deal with the devil:

“I am offering an apology on behalf of City Hall. I am sorry, we are sorry [for the city's high crime rate and for past excessive uses of force],” Mayor Keller said. “We have let you down in many ways.”

How did you not see this coming? A progressive liberal who supports the police? You really believed that? Progressive liberals view the police as jack booted fascists. That is a fact. How could you not know that? Clearly, you could not spot a clue even if it bit you on the ass.

Agree with 12:11. Stunned and embarrased when I heard the apology from Keller. Keller should apologize to the officers who have to juggle between holding a very thin blue line against a city held hostage by an extremely violent criminal element and their own Administration who have tied the hands of every APD officer trying to do the job they were hired to do!

Stuck with another political windbag. Albuquerque will remain the cesspool of Berry's creation.

Regular Guy,

You neglected to say who you did vote for in the Mayoral election, wonder why?

There is no perfect candidate for any office anywhere, but if you HAD kept up with the EYE you would have understood why they endorsed Keller as opposed to the other candidates. They were not shy about their reasons.

As for the apologies, you cannot argue with reality aka the truth when it comes to some of the short comings, mistakes, whatever you want to call them of some of APD officers. ie Levi , Brachle, etc. Another example of non perfect people. Actually it shows character in a man to admit mistakes were made and it is time to learn from them.

Get over us vs them mentality and get on board. Of course Keller is not this cities' savior alone. But that is his message, he can't do it alone, he needs you to stand up and do your part....even as a APOA leader. Yeah I listened to the KKKob radio interview.

12:11 AM, I wasn't aware that the guy who murdered Daniel Webster was a city employee. With this new information we should definitely demand that Mayor Keller apologizes to Webster's wife!

12:11

Didn't Keller speak the truth? Under Eden / Huntsman / Perry / Berry it was a big fuck the citizens from the top of city hall and APD. That is a fact that the Eye has pointed out regularly over the last 3 years. And how about the "culture of excessive force" at APD? Did Eden / Berry (who represented APD) admit to this when they signed the DOJ consent decree? They did. All Keller is doing is putting it all in perspective and as public officials letting the citizens know they were not served well. Stop whining about yourself, we made mistakes, we can't fix them if we don't acknowledge them.

Yea, I guess were all a bunch of fu*k ups running around not doing anything but can take a life.

Lets see if he reorganizes looks like gym time for CIB may get cut short.

How the hell does a newbie mayor expect to successfully headhunt, much less hire, a top C.O.P candidate when said mayor publicly apologizes for the horrific behavior of the troops?

This is most aggregious!

12/7 10:35. So since there was no "perfect candidate" to vote for, it's okay to just vote for the person who you think will do the least amount of damage? Even if your conscious tells you otherwise? This type of voting is archaeic. Now Albuquerque is stuck with a douche bag mayor who pulls from the Deadpool ghosts of APD past.

9:36 12/10. What "real chief" are you talking about. Who is turkey neck? Who are the idiots you speak of? And
pussies with chicken feathers? Thx for that visual.

Yea you must be a retard. I'm not lazy and I bust my ass and took offense to that comment.
You musta came out of a no stress academy. No me, I got a few years to retire and a high stress academy.

That's what Grier needs to change right now old school academy get these rooks ready. Break them down with stress, running and rebuild.

Anonymous said...

So you somehow equate my comment with the type of academy I went to? We have a real Perry Mason here. With 34's like you running around, I'll just call TRU if I need anything.

Anonymous said...

@ 11:12 don't call TRU they never answer the phones it goes to an answering machine. And they never call you back. I know first hand, tried to report a car burglary and after several days waiting and calling TRU back I went to a substation and once there I was told to call TRU. Even though I had told them I already did. Maybe I will hear from TRU after the New Year but I am not holding my breath.
