Interim Chief Banks starts off by Lying to City Council

During Monday night’s meeting before the Albuquerque City Council, Berry’s’ newest blunder, Albuquerque’s new Interim Chief of Police, Allen Banks, told his first bold-face lie to the Council as Interim Chief. Ray Schultz must be proud of his protégé.

Councilor Ken Sanchez stated to Banks that he understood that the APD Gang Unit was disbanded in APD. Sanchez then asked Interim Chief Banks if this was true. Banks replied, “No,” the unit has not been disbanded but the officers assigned to the gang unit have been “placed” in other units. This is what we located on the internet:

(Of an organization group) Break up and stop functioning as an organization.

 

If someone disbands a group of people, or if the group disbands, it stops operating as a single unit.

If Banks “placed” the officers in other units doesn’t this mean he disbanded them? Dissolved the unit? Dispersed the unit? Dismissed the unit? Broke up the unit? Dissipated the unit?  Why does this man lie? Why does he feel the need to lie?  Why can’t Banks stand up for what is right? And in light of the violent motorcycle gang shoot out in the North Valley; doesn’t the City need the Gang Unit more now than ever (more to come on this mess too)? Is Banks simply a “trophy” for Berry to place on the mantel?  

Do something Mr. Banks; stop lying, take the high road, start doing the “right” thing! APD is in disarray and needs strong leadership; not another dump whip boy like Schultz.  

Oh, and yes, we have heard the rumor that Berry has promised Schultz the Public Safety Director position. And, yes, our Eyes at PERA have told us that Schultz has not filed ANY retirement paperwork. So, it does appear Schultz is holding out to stay with the City long term.

Berry; Slip, Slide and Away

Mayor Berry announced several months ago that he intended on hiring a firm from outside New Mexico to conduct a “national search” for a new chief of police.  Ray Schultz was forced out of the police department. First the national search and now Berry has placed Deputy Chief Allen Banks in as the “Interim Chief of Police.” Berry is setting the stage for re-election but the problem is; no one is falling for his lies.

Mayor Berry immediately set upon, after Ray Schultz’s announcement of being given the boot, that he would have a “national search” conducted by an out-of-state firm. The cost is estimated to be around 35k to 50k.  Why would a mayor send 50k out-of-state when we have people here who need work and a job? Helping out a friend somewhere? You are sitting there saying to yourself; “Why is the Eye On Albuquerque saying such a mean thing like this?”

Here is the answer, Berry is lying and we see through his lies.  You see, Mr. Perry told the neighborhood association presidents that a California firm was already hired to find a new chief…Oddly enough, guess where Berry was at before he was mayor? You guessed it; he was in California with his construction company (really nice of Berry to give jobs and business to the folks in California).  The question is why? Here is the rest of the puzzle.

Berry promoted two new deputy chiefs at APD. With these two slots filled and the national search locates a new chief of police; where will Allen Banks go? He will no longer be interim chief; his former position as a deputy chief has now been filled; Where-Oh-Where is Mr. Banks going to go?  Here are the answer folks; Berry wants to “lock-in” the black and other minority vote.  This is all a political move.  The proof is replacing Banks’ former position.  What makes this news even more discerning neither Roseman or Garcia has a stellar record. Both have been plagued with problems throughout their careers. These are just a few more of Ray Ray’s boys.

 

Meanwhile, Berry gave one of his friends in California thousands of dollars to do a search that is frivolous because Berry wanted Banks there to help his political career. Banks is the fruit of the poisonous tree; RAYMOND DANIEL SCHULTZ. Schultz and anyone he mentored or part of his administration must be cut away like a cancerous tumor. Both Eric Garcia and William Roseman are part of that cancerous tumor. That is the cold hard facts.

Could it be that Banks has been promised some other big dollar position in exchange for his help since his prior position has been filled? Banks should know, “When you agree to dance with the devil; you’re going to owe your soul.”

In the end Berry as with any snake will simply be forced to slip, slide and away…Maybe Berry, Perry and Schultz can share an assisted living apartment?
