Sheriff Darren White cleaned up in this week's Eye Poll garnering 53% of the vote in a four person field consisting of 3 Democrats and just one Republican (White). Second in our unscientific poll was Councilor Martin Heinrich with 37%, followed by Michelle Grisham with 8%, and rounding out the field Jon Adams with 1% (view the results here).
It's not surprising that the popular White easily carried the poll. However, it was interesting to see Councilor Heinrich do so well against his Democratic opponents.
This week's Eye Poll delves into the morale over at APD. Last week wasn't exactly a good week for the fifth floor. Let's see... Albuquerque ends up the FBI's 2nd in the country for assaults on police officers, two arrest warrants were issued for APD K-9 officers in Arkansas, and a suspicious death investigation nets pot and an APD lateral officer. The response from the 5th floor brain trust - it's time to start testing for steroids. Huh?
In any case, if you spent much time here you've noticed that there are a lot of APD's finest commenting (often graphically) about issues relating to APD. This week we'd like to get your opinion of APD's morale. Don't forget to vote!

The morale is low, but I think APD, and the 5th floor can do much better (worse). I want to see the dept. fall to the depths of Detroit P.D. or New Orleans would be nice too! Let's get to the point to where the U.S. Justice Dept. think's they should step in and take the dept. over just like the two stellar depts. mentioned before. "Good For you Albuquerque" should ring loud and clear in everyones ears.
I don't believe the morale is only low at APD. I've heard from employees at other departments as well and it is bad throughout. Maybe when a new mayor is elected and some of these directors are replaced morale will improve. Unfortunately I don't see that happening until then.
Again and again, when you have corruption at the top levels of government, you have corruption, graft and crime in the ranks below. How is it, that anyone thinks that until this mayor is gone, and out of office for good, that this city will ever be cleaned up and law an order is not only restored in our streets, but at City Hall as well.
When you have a theif as a mayor, the city workers will steal. When you have an immoral mayor, the troops will follow suit and rape and wife beat. When you have a mayor who lies, well you know the rest. When examples of morality and the simple rules of right and wrong aren't followed by the mayor, you have a whole system of employees and appointees, that are so ethically deficient that no matter what, innocent people will get hurt.
The men that run this city are nothing more than cowards that not only beat their wives but have absolutely no backbone or courage to face the truth. THESE ARE THE GUYS WHO GOT THEIR ASSES KICKED ON THE SCHOOL YARD, AND DAMN WELL NEED THEIR ASSES KICKED AGAIN BY A MAN.
It's too bad , but APD's morale is in the toilet!
I am a retired officer that has been gone for about 16 years or so. I however, still have a few friends on the dept and we talk often. Seems that most of the APD Officers DO NOT trust the chief or his staff.
When I was working for APD we had alot of respect for our Chiefs. We may not have liked all the decisions they made, but we respected them and they respected us and our rights.
More importantly,,,, they stuck up for the troops and would not stab us in the back.
My last Chief was BOB Stover, and he was the best an officer could ask for.
Ray,,,, well I knew him as a patrolman, sgt and Lt. Lets just say he never impressed me. Its always been all about him!
Good luck current APD Officers. Were behind you. This bad time and bad chief shall pass.....
I retired a few years back and from what I see now the morale rivals the worst morale in Department history, back when Sam Baca was chief. In the intervening years we had some pretty good chiefs, but with the exception of Bob Stover they all were forced to make policy at the behest of politicians. No matter how good or bad you think your 5th floor is remember that they are probably only about 75% responsible for the things done in their name(s) with the Mayor and his staff pulling the strings on the rest. And the rest is usually the stuff that pisses you all off.
I have been retired for three years. I left when Ray came back. I have known him his whole career. He has always been about the angles and what he can get from the system. This morale issue is no surprise to anyone that has worked around this self serving individual. All the good commanders have left the building. Now some idiot on the 5th floor (MC) will response about how everyone is bitching. Wakeup and tell the mayor to &^%$# off!!
WOW!!! Darren only got 53% in an all Republican poll! This could be Heinrich's race to lose. Darren has lost sooo much respect from long time supporters because of his association with Ray. This is one Republican that will not Support him ever again!!!!
The greatest truth that adminstrations forget is that; they only exist while their masters need them. This APD administration, like so many in the past, will learn what it is liked to be pimp slapped by history once Marty is gone.
Word has it that Marty Chavez and the 11th floor does not even think Ray is a good chief!
I have heard it said that if by some chance Marty was to come back, he would have Ray retire.
The only reason Marty does not fire Ray is because he already had to fire Gilbert Gallegos and he doesn't want to look like he can't pick a good chief! Even though that seems to be the case.
The last two chiefs Marty has selected have been utter horseshit. One was a dirty sex crazed old man who let his sweeties steal money and drugs for sexual favors(gallegos).
The second is a selfserving person that only cares about himself and not his officers or dept(schultz).
They are both the worst Chiefs a dept could ask for and it really shows in the troops morale!!!!!!!!!
I think these two will go down as the worse chiefs in APD's history.
Gil Gallegos already is the first APD Chief to ever be FIRED!
Boy, does APD need the likes of Chief Stover. Now there was a CHIEF!
Bob Stover was the best cop/chief/Sheriff to ever put on a uniform...APD AND BCSO.These milk toast guys that are the "leaders" of these departments would not make a pimple on his ass.
If you only knew about the morale at BCSO...talk about toilet..let's go a step further and call it the sewer. Darren has let many many people and deputies down and is too busy running for "something" to take care of his own department. He leaves it up to Sal...now there's a leader...yeah, right. Darren has promoted people that did not deserve it and recently fired a Sergeant then brought him back possibly due to Darren's ties with Pitre Buick?? Seems this Sergeant was repo-ing cars for Pitre on duty and ordering his detectives to do the same. You tell me who's on the up and up....Darren talks out of both sides of his mouth. My exit interview was nothing other than Darren and Sal rehashing old PD memories. They did not want to hear anything about any of the problems within the department. Perhaps because they might have to do something about it....
Maybe that is why Darren and Ray are so close.
Indeed, Darren's asociation with Ray Schultz & MARTY, could very well haunt him and could ultimately lead to his demise.
Likewise, there's a huge hold out and funding freeze for Darren's campaign.
People havn't got what they expected out of Darren in the past and most likely won't in the future
Oh, as for the 5th floor. None of them belong there, anymore than the last 3 a-holes.
The entire rank and file despise all of them.
When Maty's gone, there gone, and there will be none of this made up 80k fake positions for them eitherafter they retire.
They'll have to 'cop' feels in their civies, and hopefully get arrested.
On the above post....What does Bowdich do? Wasn't he only going to work until they found a new chief??????
Oh,,,,, I forgot, does someone own him a big favor and that's why he is still there making his 96k a year.... I think that is a big waste of a position, especially if you don't do anything and just get a pay check! You should at least be able to make decisions!
Hmmm, last post up, you might be right. Let's use that same logic for the last administration: Greg Sanchez, Joe Silva, Bev Sandoval, Conrad Candelaria, Ron Paiz, Paul Chavez, Sisi Miranda,Mike Castro....all promoted by Chief Gallegos, hired by Mayor Chavez,,,Hmmm, Castro is cuban, Callaway is 1/2 hispanic, and McCabe an alien from NY.Who gives a fu**?????????????
There was a reference on another blog regarding R. Gomez....is that for real or are you hyperbolizing??? I pray its exaggerated otherwise APD needs the biggest restructuring of command almost any department has seen.
If there's a journalist worth their salt...step up it sounds like you could have a helluva story and be a helluva guy/gal.
Two up. "who gives a FU**?????"
Not the rank and file.
It might be interesting to know, that they still do give a F_ _ K about the citizens. However, they're job might be a lot easier if we weren't doing it with one hand tied behind their back by the fifth floor.
How much does it cost to buy DC rank these days?
$4,000 for Captain and another 4 to $8,000 for DC.
Just make out the check to Marty Chavez for Senate(or whatever it is he'll run for next)
For details, ask Mike Castro.
What a bunch of Crap! The Albuquerque Police Depeartment has more oversight that any other time in history. The Council, The POC, The Journal and the Tribune, not to mention, District Court, Federal Court, The 10th Circuit and the Supreme Court. This Chief is actually cleaning things up and the few of you who dont like accountability are bashing him. What Shit!!!! I think it is refreshing that people are held accountable. He is not afraid to fire, suspend or do whatever needs to be done. He changes policy, he even changes his mind and frequently overturns proposed discipline from the POC and the Chain. Shit, he even promotes people based on the best person for the job and not a quota. You should be praising him and not damning him. But then again many of you are just cops and not exactly the smartest people.
"Many of you are just cops and not the smartest people."
I wasn't sure it actually WAS Schultz until I read that statement.
I'd rather my tax dollars pay for a "dumb" cop than a 'smart" politician any day - As if some uneducated little mexican smurf mayor like marty that only makes a hundred grand a year( before graft) does anything save move his mouth and empty others wallets and foment his corrupt agenda .He and his acolyte APD management minions had best take stock of what a fragile peace exists here in albaturkey- the 'dumb" cops are one of the only bulwarks holding back the tide of outside organized gang activity threatening to envelop this funny little town and little marty too.. that's murder, meth and mayhem for you "smart" politicians... I keep my plane at cutter ready for quick escape.
Several posts up,,, That information on LT Gomez is 100 % true. He told the chief he was going to leave in three months even if he was promoted. Guess what,,, in three months after being promoted to capt, Lt Gomez retired as a capt. That extra three months of promotion really helped his cash out.
I wonder what happended to the IA complaint/case Gomez had against DC Johnston and Sauer????????? There was an I number, bet it just disappeared!!!!!!! As did the entire case. Ask Capt Sauzo, he knows it exsits, as do all the IA people at the time.
Lt Gomez had those two DC's by the balls!
Schultz is no different than Gallegos, just a lot smarter at covering up! Gallegos was just plain stupid.....
Remember, When APD is having all these problems that the officers behavior is a reflection of top management. If management sets a bad example,,, guess what, the officers will follow and the officers behavior will become very bad!
So, if the behavior is bad, management should take a hard look in the mirror!
You APD guys know so much and do so little with it! What a shame. If you guys know all this information, do something with it. Quit crying, complaining and quit name calling! Your juvinile attitude in responding on this blog is embarrasing to the good cops who are out there. You complain about the mayor, you have all this information on him, you endorse him, then you complain about him. You have all this information on your chief, you complain about about him but he is still there. You use profanities and names to communicate with others on this blog if they happen to disagree with you or offer a better argument than you do. The people responding in this manner are either not really cops or if they are cops, they are incredibly immature and juvinile. Either way, the average person who is not a cop and is reading this comes away with no empathy towards APD but rather a feeling of fear and disgust with those who are sworn to protect us. I am not condoning what the judge who let the DUI person off the hook did, however it does raise , at least in my mind, real doubt as to the character of some of those who put on the blue for APD. The good and honest cop in Albuquerque will acknowledge this.
p.s.
To the racist poster who has his plane at cutter, leave us please!! Your kind is obviously not from here and more importantly is not wanted here. Please get out of Albuquerque and take your racist juvinile thinking right back from where you brought it. We don't need you but you apparently need Albuquerque. Bye, hasta la vista, go and don't look back!!!
Can you believe that the 5th floor now has us attending ethics training which has been mandated!
However,,,, the chief and deputy chiefs are not required to attend and nor do they!!!!!!!If anyone needed the ethics training it would be the 5th floor, but once again it's, Do as I say, not as I do!
Well, our instructor did a survey of the class of supervisors and morale was our depts biggest problem. He also charted our dept and we are just one tier away from be totally corrupt as a dept. We are very close to New Orleans and headed down that path.
Several of us talked with the instructor and he indicated our dept was in bad shape!
The bosses on the 5th floor needed this training more than anyone!!
In addition, the intructor stated that anytime a Mayor takes donations and those that donate money are promoted, it sets the dept up for corruption.
Sounds as if APD has some serious problems, but the chief and deputy chiefs were too busy to attend!
Does anyone here (nost likely retired APD) remember the Kaitlyn Arquette murder back in 1987? I think it was 87. Her family is still looking for answers. Since you can post anonymously here any info would mean the world to them. They also have a website. If you just look up Kait Arquette you can find it.
JOE BOWDICH??? WHAT a joke and worthless as an administrator. So sad they pay him anything. He was more worthless as a Sheriff and he HAD the opportunity to make decisions..he just DIDN'T. Will not back his people and like Darren only wants "YES" men around him. Both will lie and back the big boys but not the tried and true officers...
Bowdich just sleeps during the chief's staff meetings and does not appear to understand what is going on in this new law enforcement era..... He needs to retire and let someone with new ideas and more importantly,,,energy take that position!!!! Take a vacation Joe!!!! Enjoy your life while you can.
I was working in a special unit when Sherrif Bowdich let a Federal informant who was a child sexual rapest go at our objections. We told Bowdich not to let the guy go, but he let him out anyway.. The federal informant kidnaped and raped a kid and Bowdich lied about it.... It happended after the guy had been loose a few days. He's not as good as everyone thinks he is!
Why does Bowdich's posiion exist?
What is he anyway? Assistant to Ray? What for?
There's 100 grand shot to hell, meanwhile officers in the field still don't have the proper bullet proof vests. His salary could outfit a hellava lot of troops.
How 'bout it Ray, can you spare the butler and send him home?
Have McCabe or Castro shine your shoes. Use the shoe polish off of Callaway's nose.
Two posts up. You absolutely have no clue what you are talking about. Bowdich, Ken McWethy, Matt THomas, Greg Marcantel, Elizabeth Martinez AUSA, and Roy Dennis were in bed with DEA during that case. They all knew who the rapist was, where he lived, what he drove and where he worked and DID NOT TELL THE detectives (APD AND SO) about the information. The rapist MICHAEL ROBINSON had cut a deal to work as an informant for DEA because he was busted with 1000 kilos of dope (which they all lied about). It mattered NOT to any of the above mentioned "cops" (sworn to SERVE and PROTECT) that Robinson was a 3 time convicted pedophile and had admitted to raping over 200 children. The victims in this case meant nothing to these people. Their only concern was to play with the "big boys" for whatever political/career advancement it could get them. The detectives working the case were threatened with arrest if the case got out to the media and later suspended by BCSO complete with Joe Bowdich's backing..let's not forget McWethy (retired SS)a huge supporter of the suspension of his own people. AND OF COURSE the other two "detectives" that sold out their own co-workers have since been promoted....all the way to Lieutentant. Go figure. Enter Darren who knew the complete and ugly truth of this whole case as he was covering part of it while he was a crime reporter. Regardless, Marcantel and Thomas have managed to "yes" their way to the top...pretty scary when people of no integrity or loyalty are in high ranking postitions. They would sell out their families if they thought it would get them somewhere and some kind of validation. Be careful CID/Region 1 you could be next.
One post up..did you forget that Robinson was also scheduled in to enter the witness protection progam had those detectives not caught him? Also, it is my understanding those detectives also had to serve a search warrant on THEIR OWN DEPARMTENT (BCSO) IN ORDER TO RETRIEVE EVIDENCE THAT WAS TAKEN FROM THEM THE DAY OF THE ARREST BY THE DEA, WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF MARCANTEL, THOMAS DEA WANNA-BE'S. Isn't it amazing that these two have rarely to almost NEVER had to be in uniform their entire careers??? You would think by now they would have sucked everyone dry..literally.
HAHA and it's even funnier that Marcantel, MR. KNOW IT ALL and FED ass kisser took a captain's car to the FBI academy SURE he was going to be promoted when he got back..The joke's on you Marcantel..ex big time Bernalillo city policeman. Now THERE'S a resume to be proud of!!!
Sheriff Bowdich knew all of this and helped assist the DEA and was one of the reasons that kid became a victim....
I just about fell out of my chair when they put him in APD to clearn up the corruption left by Gallegos. That was like throwing the fox into the hen house, but at least he din't come to SO. Better them than us.
If anyone does not think it happened, do some research, it's all there in the newspapers, right Sheriff Bowdich!!!!

By the way...there were TWO 10 year old boys..not one.
White isn't much better..he promoted those two sell outs..KNOWING what they had been involved in...he could have skipped them over. RULE OF 5.
Jesus Christ!!
Why aren't these people behind bars.
No wonder the streets are overrun by gangs. Upper management at APD has their hands full with more cover ups than 'Carter has pills'.
These are the people Mayor chavez chose to lead APD!!!!!
So, you wonder why APD is having problems,,,,Look at the people running it, recent past and present! There all corrupt!
This case was an SO case. APD assisted and did a stellar job. The detectives that arrested Robinson had more support and backing from APD personnel than their own department. The brass should have been held accountable for what happened in this case but they never were..neither were Marcantile or Thomas..they just got promoted out of the deal. The arresting officers got suspended and a career trainwreck until they retired.
That was APD's admin then....Now they would hose their officers!

It was July 1989. Steve Gallegos was the detective who caught the case, and APD called it a "random drive-by shooting".
Doesn't sound to me like a police department that cares about its citizens. It took them 15 years to give her stuff back to her family.

Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
"Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
November 8, 2007 8:55:00 PM MST"
Is that why Detective Merriman called it in as an "accident with no injuries", even though he worked in the violent crimes division? Seems to me that he suffered from a rectal-cranial inversion.
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
This is a fact. There was no cover up in regard to this case. As a matter of fact, Kaitlyn's mother bears culpability to the lack of progress in the case. Det Gallegos' efforts to arrest the offender were severly hampered by the mother's incessant meddling in the case and her maternal instinct to protect her daughter's reputation (she was a drug user, accomplice, embedded in the fraudelent hit and run scemes, etc.), ironically, shielded the offender from prosecution. I pray for her and her family and after a little soul searching on mom's part, she has the ability to reconcile the fact that she truly does know who the killer is.
But you never investigated the Vietnamese guys!! You never did!
Where's the Vietnamese chicks?
They're living with Marty & Greg.
They each have one.
You mean Mama-sauns?
Yeah. Cooking, cleaning, this that and the other.
Oh my gosh! Is the APD really that afraid of these gangs that almost 20 years has gone by and they still won't investigate the case?? Interview people, do SOMETHING! I can't believe that they can't reopen the case and possibly find new evidence (or use evidence they already have) to prosecute the killer. If I was Kaitlyn's mom, I would be doing everything I could to solve this. Don't blame her, she was not meddling--that is her daughter! What kind of person are you to say that she was "meddling?" Get a soul!
Kait's mother wasn't 'meddling', as you call it, when Detective Merriman called in an "accident with no injuries", took an incorrect name, address, and phone number from Paul Apodaca (who had a record of violent assaults on women & was at the scene), and left the scene for the ambulance to almost miss when they arrived.
Det. Gallegos only spoke with the family one time... after that, he said he "wasn't allowed to discuss the case" whenever he was contacted about it.
The latest Cold Case detective at APD who started working on her case was transferred out of that section and into another section.
Sounds like APD has something to hide.
It was mom's prior referenced interferrence with the case which allowed the offender an alibi. Has nothing to do with having a soul. And for you conspiracy theorists, sometimes there's no grassy knoll, or magic bullet, it is what it is.
Sounds like APD gave up or didn't investigate because Kaitlyn (as you said) was involved in the whole mess. Even so, she deserves to have her killer put behind bars so the same person doesn't kill someone else to "keep him/her quiet." No matter what she did (or didn't do) she did not deserve to die. Sounds like she was trying to get out. Maybe APD knew this already and was trying to get her to testify against this gand and something went awry and APD didn't want to take the blame for it.
You can blame APD all you want and deflect from the issues to placate your soul. You came to this blog and asked a question. It was answered. If you were looking for someone to answer what you wanted to hear, then you came to the wrong place.
Oooh, I must have hit a nerve.
Look, I don't think anyone is seriously accusing APD of conspiring in any "grassy knoll" way with Kaitlin's killer. But we do know that officers sometimes look the other way rather than bring up facts that might embarass other officers. We've seen that time and time again in every major city police department in the country. I'm not anti-police; two brothers are officers- but we all know that sometimes it's easier to just let things slide than embarass a fellow officer who might have worked hard but screwed up on one case. That can be human nature, but it makes for crappy policework.

that's just like the BCSO triple homicide in the east mountains. It will never be solved because everyone involved wanted to be a hero. Especially Marcantel and Thomas. Joke's on you guys and unfortunately 3 families who will never know what really happened. That makes 5 families and 5 victims(two kids that were raped by the DEA informant) SO has F**% over due to those two "deptuties" wanting to be big boys. Just recently..the guy that SHOT DOWN the BCSO helicopter..CASE DISMISSED..NO EVIDENCE. Marcantel ordered him arrested the night of the incident..WAKE UP WHITE
Several posts up,,,,, you think officers cover for one another so as to protect them from embarassment? Have you read this blog? Cops have been thrown under the bus so many times here on this blog that it needs new tires. I stand by my earlier response about Kaitlyn.

Good luck hunting for your Holy Grail and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out of this blog.
Repeating the same thing over and over doesn't win an argument. You've told us twice now that mom's somehow caused teh culprit to get away, but you still haven't managed to explain how mom's meddling screwed up the investigation at the scene, or prevented officers from conducting interviews. The truth is, Mom's meddling is the only reason anyone still cares about this case.
Cops have a hard job, almost impossible at times, but morons who care more about not embarassing their fellow officers have allowed corruption and shoddy police work time and time again. I'm not accusing anyone of corruption, but I don't see why a case with as much evidence as this can't be looked at again. You've lost sight of what's important.
Did you have any other bad words you wanted to let out of your system?
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
Ummmm.... If we know that, shouldn't we maybe try to convict her killer? Or is that not police work?
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.
Some crimes are never solved, that's just the way it is sometimes.

Call unsolved mysteries channel in hollywood. or maybe that CSI show that the public watches all the time can do a story and solve it theoretically. Cause we all know that if its on CSI it can really be done that way!
I don't watch CSI, so I have no idea what you are talking about....but it seems to me that knowing why she was killed and who killed her would make arresting her killer somehow easier. But you're probably right... it couldn't possibly be worth trying.
Maybe, you should try to put yourself, in Kait's moms situation....Think how you would feel if it were your daughter, that had been killed. Kait, was just a kid, we've all made mistakes as kids....Even you Mr. Know it all....Im sure Kait's parents realize that she made some big mistakes, however, that does not justify why this case was handled so poorly by APD. Her family deserves some answers, So, here is a question, since you seem to know this case very well....If Kait's murder was a random drive by, why did it take APD so many years to get her belongings back to her family, and dont forget that there were a number of Kait's things that turned up missing durring that time....hmmm sounds like your police dept. has some explaining to do! Someone should be held accountable for the mess they made of this case!
I would also like to know how a "drive by" would result in a parked car with the auto trans in the park position and the vics shoe on the outside of the car. Kinda baffles me... I could almost buy the drive by, but then who got in to that car?
Also, you might want to get your story straight. You've said that it was a random "drive by shooting" and then that she was killed to keep her quiet. Which is it? Really, what would you do if it was your child? I know what I would do, the same thing that Kaitlyn's mom is doing----never give up. I think the reason why people are not letting this drop is because of all the contradictions in the case and the family deserves better than what they got----APD essentially giving up. What was the reason you became a policeman? To get a paycheck or to really help people? I hope the answer is to help people and if its the other, then I really hope you are retired.
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.

Yeah, you've already said that....You'd think after 20 years you would have something new to add.
Ok, the copy/paste responses are about the only ones that will ever be offered. These people know, however, that WE know that Kaits murder investigation had major flaws in it. It is just amusing that this person actually thinks their redundant response will make a difference. I weep for this police department.
The sad thing is, many of us here are pro-police, but we are lumped in as police haters simply because we point out that in this instance, some officers didn't do their jobs.
Most police officers would agree that this case needs to be looked at again, I just wish they would read this instead of whoever keeps saying "We know who did it and why, and we refuse to do anything about it."
Kaitlyn was deeply involved in an Asian drug gang & was about to turn on her boyfriend, the gang leader & testify against them all. She was killed to keep her quiet.

How about you just answer this-Is APD instructed to leave the vietnamese gangs alone? That's the word on the street.
Yes & no, we were told to leave the viet gang members alone if they had yellow hair & drove modified Hondas...........
It is a shame that "good cops" have to turn the other cheek.
Whatever this coverup is about, it must have been one biggie. To murder an 18 yr old kid, some stuff must really have been brewing.
Ok, I am confussed. Why were you told to leave them alone? I agree with the above posts, it is sad when good cops, that want to do the right thing, are told to look the other way. Alot of people are at risk, if thats the way things are done here in Albuquerque.
Repeating your statement, does not make it true. It sounds like you've repeted that alot after 20 years. You have it down pretty good! Is that what you told her parents? As far as praying for Kait's family, I pray for you, and the rest of APD. Hopefully you never have to be in Kait's family's posistion. I hope you never have to be the ones searching for answers to one of your children's death. O....I forgot, if it does happen to you, then it's ok because your a cop. God help you because someone needs to!
God help us all we are all going to hell in a hand basket!
Not all of us.

Some crimes are never solved, that's just the way it is sometimes.
The officers on the case did their very best. Some cases just don't ever get solved. So many cases don't get solved there is a steady supply for a television series called "Unsolved".
To the redundant poster:
Since the Arquette family has put out information on what their take on Kaits murder is, would you care to elaborate on just exactly what Kait was involved with? Now you have my interest sparked. Lets hear it...

Thats what I thought you would com back with. Quit wasting space on this board with your lame response over and over and over again. Perfect example of the BS that everyone is talking about.
Does anyone have a good recipe for banana nut bread I can use for the Holidays? Please Post, Thanks.

I agree, get rid of all the unions!
You'll get over it
I think the person that keeps repeating him/herself doesn't actually have anything to say, he/she should stop wasting his/her time and everybody else's time. Seriously, either say something else of importance or find another hobby. If you're tired of the topic, post something else we might be interested in........not recipes.
