Did ya'll see the article written by Jewel Hall in the Alb. Journal on Nov. 23rd? In it, she calls APD murderers, rapists, and pimps.Isn't it great how she gets to excercise her free speech but a police officer cannot? You'll lose your job if you do. There is a rather interesting story with Jewel Hall if anyone dares to dig a little bit.
Where we do we begin to look for this story about her? Send a link to her article as well please.
You all need to flood her e-mails with rebuttals on her article. If you care anything about the credibility of your officers, their safety, and those officers that are being thrown under the wheels of the "Schutz Trucking Company" with the tread marks to show for it. You have to go back at these venomous people with the truth on each point they make that is an inaccurate statement. If you don't show unity, voice your opinion, and the truth, they will win and the people will believe all that is being said. In your unity, you can air the truth. The negativity that is being shown towards APD has been brought about my the leadership in the form of Chief Schultz and his team. His leadership skills and integrity are definitely very questionable at this point in time and he needs to be held accountable for his handling of each situation. Afterall, he makes its very clear that he is the Chief by his words and his actions.
My list of honorable men and women of APD would be too long. Much longer than the list of those who have tarnished their badge and the department. My point? To paint them all with the same brush is too easy. It doesn't require any thinking on your part. In my opinion, that is what Jewel Hall did in the article she wrote for the Alb. Journal.
Hum...add Montgomery and Kelly to the questionable shootings list.. Hum.....maybe Ray-boy needs to re-open those cases...heard there was a video of the Montgomery shooting...if true, where is it buried? I've noticed no comments made on these cases! Why? Is the "Eye" blocking such comments? Surely not...not an open-minded blog like the "Eye"!
"My point? To paint them all with the same brush is too easy. It doesn't require any thinking on your part."
How funny you condemn the public for doing exactly what you Police Officers do on a daily basis! Painting the public with the same brush you use when dealing with maggots.

You have got to be kidding me. The cases are scrutinized by three agencies, (APD, NMSP, BCSO)the DA's Office, private investigative companies etc. All have been cleared. Officer Kelly and Economidy to be included. You need to get your facts straight. There are alway going to be bad seeds. Doctors, Lawyers, Judges etc. 98% of APD does a great job. of the 1800 employees (swron, civilian) APD has there really are few instances. Quit the hate and discontent people
I'm not condeming the public. I said I thought that the article written by a particular person (Jewel Hall) unfairly portrayed the whole police department as corrupt. I'll leave the hyperbole and generalizations to you.
Good point on Kelly and yes that is a true statement. Schultz you need to go and take all your boys with you. You have all brought down APD with your politics. Everyone notice the last posting for homicide sgt? A five day opening. Did anyone notice how many Officers put in for the last homicide opening? Is there a connection? Hey Troll Barboa whose paying for that mandatory golf outing on Sat????
Anonymous on 11/28 @ 8:29pm said that those shootings were scrutinized by APD, NMSP, & BCSO...Scrutinized in three days! Come on try to BS someone that doesn't know any better. Also, do you really trust the APD & BCSO? If you do..well, that's too bad. Nope, something stinks about both of those shootings and people like you apparently support the shoot-to-kill mentality of Herr Schultz and his minions.
As a citizen of Albuquerque, let me say this article is ridiculous. It portrays all officers as pimps, when in fact all we know is Kindle was the rogue sex fiend. Peruse the Journal over the last several years and find doctors (several recently, a psychiatrist and retired orthopod to mention a few) or judges (the list goes on and on) who have committed crimes.
As for the shootings, if they were justified (they are all presented to the grand jury, which will indict a sock puppet or ham sandwich if presented properly) and cleared. the fact that 14 of 20 die is testimony to APD's shooting ability, not their decision making process.
This is why there's a justice system, imperfect though it may be. Otherwise we would be judging these officers as guilty just as all citizens arrested would be presumed guilty. Most officers show up to earn their pay check. Maybe the Journalists should too!
Please don't drag everyone into the mud like the unethical chief of APD Raymond Schultz has done for the last year or so since the pressure has been on because of these shootings and other high profile incidents. This will only cause strife and divide within the ranks of APD. Schultz is the problem here along with his co-conspirators. These inexperienced non leaders are using every opportunity they can to pull their pathetic hides from the chopping block. It is evident in the timeline of things, their actions, and past prescedence of handling similar and more severe events in a very different and hypocritical manner. Everyone knows what Schultz and Feist have been up to lately as they try to cover their tracks. They are violators of civil rights and assassins of anything that is in the way of their agenda. The shame is that a few choose to drink the koolaide, and now their all spinning out of control. They are all too stupid and arrogant to have a clue how to fix it now, so they continue to destroy a once great organization all for their personal agenda. None of them care about the Albuquerque Police Department. They only care about themselves. Send a message. Be a good witness. Pull them on the carpet. Testify. Send a message. Get this mayor out and they will all follow suit. They should be run out of office. They should also be barred from their abuse of the media with their lies and false faces. It does not take much to see through their game.
I agree with the first post 100%--why is it that all the people who are cop haters basically get to say the NASTIEST things, lies, yet when a person who is a supporter of law enforcement gets up in front of the city council and defends law enforcement, there's BOOS all around. I hate this double standard......:0(
You know, it pains me to see a department that was as great as APD was, fall apart like it is under the unleadership of Raymond Schultz. That (I won't even say man) guy, should have some dignity and just walk away. He has done enough damage. But no, he wants to ride the ship down until another one comes along to jump to. Then you have Paul the Pedo Feist who never worked the damn street tripping over his dumb self to be the next chief. What a laughing stock. This clown couldn't make an arrest if his life depended on it. Banks is another one. That guy can't even dress himself. A total soup sandwich in uniform. If you can't even wash the damn gravy stains out of your shirt, how the he'll do you expect to lead by example? Beth Paiz can't even make a decision and have the fortitude to stick to it. She walks around crying about how policy hinders her. Give us all a break. Policy has nothing to do with right and wrong morally. That is a leme excuse. People who know they can't deal with their decisions are dying to retire, while the truly corrupt couldn't give a rats ass what they have done to people, the bad decisions they made, or worry about anything. They are arrogant because they have been getting away with their behavior forever. They are so morally challenged, they just keep ruining the department and employees for their own gain, while continuing to seek advancement. This should be blowing peoples minds to the point that they seek action. Why are these mindless termites allowed to continue hollowing out the city of ABQ?
I have an idea for all the cops in the blog. If you want more respect then earn it? What a concept eh? For example, on the topic of double standards, follow the laws your enforce. That means every and all laws, don't be selective on what you choose to follow. Guess what...that is called integrity. Following the law you are hired to enforce = integrity. As a result, integrity = respect. Comprende?
They get to say the nastiest things because the coward cop haters hide behind the badge. Yep, that's right, the bigmouthed cop hating punk can act any way they want because they will cry to the highest heavens when they are called on it. They are the first to call a cop a bully and accuse them of hiding behind the badge, but they are the ones hiding behind the cop's badge whom they are bashing. They run their mouth then threaten to sue like a sissy when you confront them face to face. The system is for them. It allows them to harrass, disturb, and continually get away with behavior that is unacceptable, because everyone is so afraid to draw the line these days. This is why the world is the way it is. What I will tell you is that when you put a man in a position where he has nothing to lose. That man is the most dangerous thing on the planet. At that point, the foul mouthed little creep has no idea how thin the ice he is walking on is. Times have changed for the worse, and the World War 2 generation must be sick over what has become of this place, but things come in cycles and the pendulum will eventually swing back the other way, especially if they keep pushing. These protected species will eventually get a wakeup call when society collectively gets fed up of the direction of things.

Jewel Hall stated nothing but facts in her article. Contrary to the above posters, let me reiterate for the audience.
Levi Chavez - Murder, etc
Matt Kindle - Bribes,etc(aka Pimp)
Tank Guenther - CSP, etc
With no sarcasm intended but I can go on...i.e Economidy,Dwyer,Ahrensfeld, etc. On that note, your rebuttal was?

Funny how there's all this chit chat about a chest bup that didn't happen but after Leah Kelly's shooting she was seen smoking a cigar. Wtf?

My rebuttals are none at this moment since I have not read the article yet. Thank you for the link by the way.
What is the camacho case about?
