The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. $300,000 and the Trend is Downward!

Well, usually the first week of a New Year is a time of fresh air and new ideas. But as we've seen over the last few days, not only is it more of the same, but it's like a never ending visit of the Ghost of Christmas Past. It's dark, gloomy, and smells.

You see, illegally fired APD officer Russell Perea was ordered by a district court judge for reinstatement into APD and repayment of backpay. That finally happened and Officer Perea was paid over $150,000 by the city and is in the process of being reinstated into APD. Our Eyes tell us that the city has argued that Perea is not qualified to be a police officer any more because he hasn't kept up with training. But of course it was the city's fault that Perea was unable to keep up with training.

That's a fun game the current leadership likes to play: we're gonna violate your rights but don't blame us if you don't like it.

(Funny how the city likes to micro-analyze and promote such requirements and regulations when its to their benefit; but what do they do when such little details are against them and show guilt? That's a little Eye hint about something coming down the line...)

So while Perea gets a nice check, almost the same day there's bizarre story about the city cutting yet another six-figure check because of what's described as a "secret arrest" stemming from a SWAT activation. Of course the money paid isn't so much because of the actions of the officers but the seeming deception and tampering of records by the city.

What, the city "loses" records?!?!?!?

Since the all-monied Alcade, RJ Berry, boasts about his CAO's effectiveness, we at the Eye think Perry's 2014 salary should be offset by what we all just paid Perea. That would leave Perry with about $33,000 in income for the year and seems about right for his "service" to the city. Oh wait, since Perry has his fingers involved in legal matters facing the city, he should also be on the hook for the $150,000 paid out in the secret arrest case.

Mr. Perry, please cut us a check for $117,000 by the end of the month please as you have no credit.

Folks, at the risk of pointing out the obvious, we're going to draw your attention to a painful truth. Every since Jim Baca was mayor, things have steadily gotten worse. And while many will hate this comment, it seems Mr. Baca's administration was the high point of the city's administration in the last 15 years. (Yes yes, we can hear the "Anybody but Baca" comments already). You see, Mr. Baca had a highly skilled and very professional CAO when he had Lawrence Rael as his top administrator. Mr. Baca also made it not about him, but about the institution. Then we entered the political era with Marty Chavez as mayor. While Dr. Perlman was effective as CAO, Mr. Adams was fairly limited and let's be real, both really worked angles for themselves (Adams took home over $103,000 in 2013). Perlman did his, hush hush out of country work, and Adams feathered his nest. And it was all about keeping Marty looking like a dignitary.

Then came Berry and we are now immersed in the era of cronyism. What else do you call it when $150,000 checks are routinely cut because of BAD decision made by personnel who give themselves raises or are promoted....? Jobs for friends here, contracts for friends there, is the way of Berry. And as Berry hands pieces of his pie out to all of his political hacks, we, the citizens, are left holding the bag.

OMG...another payout???? When does it end??? Taxpayers are footing these pay-OFF'S!!! These settlements are nothing more than payoffs and it's time the administration stops using our tax dollars like the Mafia!

And another "bingo"!! But how many "bingo's" do you have to get to win a shit-stained teddy bear to serve as the main course of a banquet for our "heros"; Berry, Perry, Schultz, Banks, Wilham, Tourek, Levy, Brandenberg, many members of APD past and present? Better keep playing "bingo" - going to need a dump truck full of shit-stained teddy bears to feed that bunch of scavengers and their friends.

Albuquerque has the laziest citizens I have ever lived around. They just don't care. Then they cry about how their home prices are dropping because 400 Intel families had to move and their homes all hit the market. They cry when their homes are broken into but they never take an interest in 300 fewer officers since Berry took over. They complain about taxes but never connect the dots to $60,000,000 in lost APD lawsuits.

Lazy and stupid. Albuquerque has an abundance of both.

Rael always did whatever dirty work that Baca wanted and is not the professional the eye thinks he is. Rael is a master of the political movida. Lets not forget the disaster Chief Jerry Galvin was for APD. Galvin was hired by Jim Baca and Rael and Baca has always had a dislike for APD and cops in general ever since APD maintained secret files on Baca.

I listened to that audio of Perea's hearing. Feist is gone. West is gone. But Banks is still here. I don't get it, he sounded like the biggest idiot of all and got caught lying by Bregman yet where's Banks? Oh yeah acting as chief. Frggn joke. But don't question him bc he's a BMA.

From Monahan:

Banks, the first African-American to lead the department, said the criticism could also be partially racially motivated.“I wouldn’t be surprised if the fact that I’m an African-American chief is being used against me as well,” Banks said.

Is that the odious defense and explanation of ABQ police department actions that we can look forward to hearing in coming years?

Are we going to lead the police force of a major American city or have a pity party?

Gees, Chief. Thanks for uniting our city and we'll be sure to ask the NAACP for permission before we say anything else about APD. Not.

Right On!!!

So is this the official switch from the Heh campaign to the Rael campaign now? Can we look forward to misguided campaign press releases treated like news again? Come on eye.

Really! the race card?

Galvin was a retard but he's wasn't a criminal like Schultz and Banks. I'd take Galvin back any day. And as fat as Rael, political sure, but 10x the manager the fools that followed him. Jim Baca is not all that he likes to paint himself as now, but I'd take that mess over the current disaster any day.

Wtf happened at city council tonight!?!?!?!?!?!?! A fight????

Charges Pending!
The stress must be getting to the city attorney's office.
Let the CAO lie about this one. There were witnesses.
2014: the beginning of the end for these creeps.

At 835, what happened is a city administrator showed up 10-18!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Which city administrator?

What's wrong if Banks wants to play the race card? It isn't going to hurt him as Berry is funding a BS search for a chief and has made up his mind to keep Banks.

Perry and Wheeler, both thugs with serious anger management problems but they always get away with it. Wheeler cost the City some $30,000 about 12 years ago as a result of a sexual harassment and slander claim when he went around City Hall falsely bragging he had sexual relations with a woman who worked for the City Attorneys office. Wheeler has now managed to become Perry's good friend and confidant. What a pair these guys make feeding off of each others egos and personalities. And Berry actually thinks Perry is worth $180,000 a year. Pathetic.
