Yesterday the citizens of Albuquerque were treated to the ultimate of ironies. Lawyers representing wanted violent felon Nicholas Blume filed a lawsuit claiming that even though he's cost the city hundred's of thousands of dollars because of his crimes and endless terror upon his victims, he is due money because of injuries he's alleged to have sustained when arrested by former APD officers John Doyle and Rob Woolever.
You see, despite his drug use, he endless fighting with people, his scuffles with police officers, and his crashing his truck, we are supposed to believe Blume is a fragile soul and was harmed when he fought with the officers that night in February 2011. Oh wait, he was just a passive felon and lied down like a Buddhist monk according to Blume's lawyers Ray Twohig and Nick Stutterly
Well here we are in February 2014, and look at that, our poor fragile mijo Blume just can't get enough attention. Our Eyes tell us, Blume was tired of fighting with field cops and decided to take on APD's ROP and K9 units today. We are also told, that even though he's a convicted felon, he was armed with at least two firearms including a rifle. Was this another Christopher Chase incident in the making?
Poor poor poor mijo.
And what's up with these lawyer's claiming Blume had out of pocket medical expenses? We all know he's milked the system like a pro. Look at the endless of charges he's faced below over the last few years. Most of which were plead out by our emasculated and ineffective district attorney.
Seriously, for 11 felony charges, most of them involving violence or threats of violence, assistant DA Jason Greenlee accepted a simple no contest plea of robbery. Judge Loveless, you were a prosecutor, how did you find this an acceptable plea??? (for more info check out case#: D-202-CR-201100469)
Perhaps the citizens of Albuquerque should move forward with a class action suit against those responsible for letting Blume on the loose: Ray Schultz. How many additional people were victimized as a result of Schultz giving cover to Blume? How many other crimes did Blume perpetrate against others? Remember, it was Schultz who tried to keep the DOJ away by showing all how tough he could be by holding Doyle and Woolever to task for make believe policies and standards. Of course, once again we are left to clean up more of Schultz's mess and again Blume is arrested for virtually the same charges as he was back in 2011.
Hmmmm, why did Schultz go through such effort? Makes one wonder doesn't it given all the other improprieties we now know Schultz has had his fingers in.....
Look, we're all for people collecting on damages caused by the misconduct by others, but let's be real with our complaints shall we counsel? You got it wrong on both counts: No harm, no misconduct. We're shocked to see veteran attorney Ray Twohig's name on such a complaint.
Well done officers and detectives of APD.

Like I said yesterday, this is going to make the Levi fiasco look like child's play. ABQ citizens better prepare themselves for one hell of a year of big cash payouts.....$8M for one case is going to look like pocket change after 2014 is over....and then what will DOJ fine be to cover their costs????
Ray Schultz,
You and Paul Feist are going to answer for this like never before.
The Levi case was incompetence. This case was an orchestrated conspiracy between Schultz, Feist, Paiz, Buckner and Peck extending through the APOA to obstruct the DOJ investigation. The shit is going to hit the fan now. New Orleans was nothing compared to what is going to happen here.
Best Eye tweet ever, Blumes arrest yesterday was a publicity stunt to promote his lawsuit. Except he didn't think they'd really bite and arrest him. Hey Twohig u old dumb fuck, are u gonna sue the dog now? Surely there's a case there for medical malpractice. Negligent plastic surgery for sure!!
Toohigg sounded like a dope on kob. Of course he knows nothing when his client is wrong again.
Any lawyer who bases an entire civil complaint on spin and lies told by Ray Schultz who he himself has been found guilty if is foolish.
The city is truly doomed on this one.
Our jail. Whatever else we got going on, we are catering to our jail. The jail runs guys who weren't arrested for anything to do with alcohol through their little "program", at public expense. they specialize in homeless people, jaywalkers, panhandlers, shoplifters. And our cops are more than happy to accommodate the jail, whiling away their days bullying broken down, hungry, cold old men and women who do dangerous things that pose eminent threats to the public safety, like holding signs up that say things like HOMELESS VET IS HUNGRY, PLEASE HELP, THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS., or bedding down under bridges. You know, the real terrifying parts of law enforcement. Whatever else they uncover I'll guarantee you this: We're gonna find proof positive that the jails have used whatever pull they have to insure they're tending to the needs of meek people who could use help in the form of treatment more that life sentences(I met one homeless man who served a full 90 days for criminal trespass. Released, they let him walk free for an hour or so, and picked him BACK up, laughing at him, for vagrancy so he could fill a bed for another 90 days)and not housing these dangerous guys. No, the courts let these volatile, life hating super-danger assholes right back out! Some buddy-pal asks the courts kindly to please quit sending them violent guys, their jailers are bullies, not men, and the scary guys worry them as much or more as they scare APD((I know, hard to believe, but true!))! and since the judges are behind two strokes and just asked for a do over on the shot the sent into the weeds by the sand trap, we have plenty of real criminals on the streets, and a ton of jaywalkers and cold people looking not to get rained on in our jail. If there's some way someone is gonna catch these guys being little boys playing dress-up, intimidating the public for fun and profit, and having no balls, why I'm all ears! Let's see these anus-oriented half-men account for themselves......
Ray Schultz did not know how prophetic the statement "nature at play" was.
Nature is at play here.
You see, nature abhors a vacuum, and nature hates injustice.
Nature is now going to force the truth out and everyone is going to see just what Ray and company did to these two officers in order to cover his own ass and make the doj go away.
Blume was a "murder" suspect.
Show us all where it appears these two officers chest bumped. All you see in that video is shoes.
Why is the media leaving out the fact that Blume was intoxicated, high on cocaine, armed with a gun and knives, crashed into a hotel full of innocent people, tried to get into that hotel, fought police, was a felon in possession of a gun, was actively sought via a channel 13 surveillance video from the hotel where a woman was murdered, he had an accomplice that night, and reached for a weapon into his waistband several times while he fled.
When the smoke clears and the dots are connected the public will be enraged at the ride they have been taken on by the administration, Schultz and the media. Everyone is going to know the taste of crow.
And now we loose Mike to RRPD... Great job butt heads way to scare away the good ones.
How about the new potraying the MDC guard as a crook beating up a crook. On video the inmate who is fully tattood is a nice guy and took off his shirt to shake the guards hand before they rumbled. Are you freakin kidding me. It looked like a cage fight where it was 100 loose convicts surrounding the 1 guard to take him out. Video missed alot but looked like the guard was scared for his life. Our media is twisted
Is there any Oath Keepers within the APD organization that have any balls or will you just sit complacent behind the scenes while your jackboot cohorts run a muck?
What about this case: and the corrupt kennedy's
This morning Albuquerque Metro Headlines: "Federal Jury Clears APD in Shooting Case", "No Damages for Man Shot 8 Times". ITS A MIRACLE!!!! Or is it? This was another excessive use of force case filed by Joseph Kennedy and his wife Shannon Kennedy, and they got nothing, zero, nada. So what happened? For the first time in the last 4 years, the City was NOT defended by City Attorney Kathy Levy who has cost the city millions in settlements and judgments. The $10 million dollar judgment case was defended by Levy. This time, the City and the police officers were defended by a private attorney and there was no roll over and no settlement as is often the case with the City Attorneys office and Rob Perry. A highly competent and effective private defense attorney defended the City. Defense Attorney Luis Robles has a proven and successful track record in excessive use of force cases.
What's his track record?? Eye u allowing ads now like 12:59...?
Anonymous at 11:31:00
Pinpoint please, exactly what are "he and his pals" doing.
Thanks
DeBuck for Chief!!!
you don't make sense 11:00 pm
2-13, 11:30am: "Oath Keepers"? "Balls"? "APD"? Good luck on that. It would be like trying to throw a net around a fart in a windstorm.
DeWho for chief?
Look at those ghosts of APD past and present who put in: Paiz, Gomez, Medina, Gilmore, Banez, Medina, Byers and Calloway....
Harold Medina applied for the chief spot and didn't get an interview...........maybe now he will sue to get an interview...what a fricken joke,,,,,,,the nerve of that guy
Hahahahahahahahahah, how much money is spent on this recruiting firm and this the list of candidates we get? Hahahahahahahhahahahahhahaha
" A highly competent and effective private defense attorney defended the City. Defense Attorney Luis Robles has a proven and successful track record in excessive use of force cases."
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha.
Thanks for the laugh..... Again!
Watched the story on 13 about Blume's arrest. Reporter said that in 2011 a gun was found in the stolen truck he was driving, but APD decided to drop that charge. Why? APD sure crucified two officers who brought in a wanted FELON whose only complaint at the hospital was his left arm hurt and also told ER staff that he did not pass out. Oh yeah, I heard he didn't even have a concussion! Kicked 14 times in the head and no concussion! Blume must be Superman! Yeah, right, and his attorneys are greedy and looking for a fast pay out...but oops Blume's arrest took care of that for them! The media here is just not doing their job! Investigate your fair haired boy, Schultz...oh yeah, can't do that, he's Berry's Boy and the media here loves our poor excuse for a mayor!
@11:30
There are supposedly some good cops left at APD, but those fear recrimination and won't talk about their crooked, dirty, dangerous, backward cohorts. They sit by while an Adam Casaus kills a girl and a bunch of his buddies try to blame her death on her sister, to get her sister to believ for the rest of her life that she killed her beloved sister, somehow. They watch cops go on calls and do nothing, because it might put them in some risk. They: The list goes on, but when you blame the blue line on the decline of your law enforcement organization, you've missed the point of the blue line, which was supposed to keep you and yours safer. This ridiculous loyalty is destroying the department, so it's cutting your heart out to save your body. Alas, we're speaking of cops, and I don't know that we have any smart ones left. Perhaps when these different brands of cowardice hear the public loudly call for all the cirminals to be removed from APD(I'm not holding my breath, so many of the regular people trust our cops because "That's who we're supposed to trust, isn't it?)these guys will grow a set and go en masse to the press people of their choice and bring the truth about the mess we face to light. Well? Where are you, guys with balls?
The Da's office dropped the charges after they burned the offficers, because how could they stand up the case after the department worked so hard to hide evidence, and direct a faulty investigation into burying the officers. It is a good thing the officers are fighting Schultz and those that did this every step of the way now, because now it is turning around. It will be interesting to see the facts come out more in this case to the point that Blume loses his lawsuit. This shows that there is no expense spared when it comes to covering up for Schultz and those that are corrupt. They (APD BRASS AND CERTAIN COA OFFICIALS) knew blume would sue, and looked at the bigger loss they would incur if the DOJ came (criminal and civil charges).
The irony here is how many cases were justified by APD, then lost for millions in civil proceedings where they backed the officers. This suspect sustained minor abrasions, and was taken into custody rather quickly and efficiently. Sure, any video like that looks bad, but you have to look at all the circumstances around what led up to it and what was on the officers minds. What I am getting here is that we had an extremely dangerous felon that was being sought for numerous violent crimes, including homicide. This individual fled from police, endangering God knows how many citizens. He and his accomplice crashed a stolen truck into a hotel while armed and then fled into that hotel where more innocent citizens were. This guy was known to be armed and dangerous by the officers and he motioned to his waistband for weapons while high as a kite on drugs and alcohol, and he was not shot or shot at. It a situation like this case law dictates by any means necessary to stop the threat to the officers and citizens. I am very confused as to what the problem is. These officers were cleared by their commander prior to the DOJ investigating APD. Now Schultz fires them when the DOJ comes. This case is not a win for Blume, even though the city is in a bad way for what they did. Those that spun this will be the ones on the hook. This whole thing is really sad.
There's not one qualified person within APD to be the chief. This is fact and it's the only thing I could ever agree with the mayor about. It is the ultimate proof of how far APD has fallen. Since so many supervisors are still very young this is the chance to get rid of all the supervisors left over from Schultz. All of them. Take out the trash.
at 0847, ""That's who we're supposed to trust, isn't it?)these guys will grow a set and go en masse to the press people of their choice and bring the truth about the mess we face to light. Well? Where are you, guys with balls?"
No shit. And your comment about what they did with Casaus is right on target. Very disgusting and very sad.
I have a request for the EYE. Will you please obtain the entire report of the Blume incident and the criminal complaint. Post it here on your site for everyone to read and all these questions about a gun, not a gun, a knife, not a knife, will be cleared up for all to read first hand.
All the officers that have retired and those getting ready to need to start their own private LE force. Take the calls away from APD and let these fair haired lily handed boys sitting around twit-ling their thumbs and their jail a ghost town.
@ 2/15 8:48
As a citizen, I don't want and or need your services. Any trespassers, whether private or CABQ, will be dealt with accordingly. Society doesn't need the PoPo, the bankers and corporate CEO's do. Do your homework. When were municipal/local PD's introduced into society and what was there purpose? Dont get a local PD confused with Sheriff's. Sheriff's are elected by the people and accountable to such. In other words, you are legends in your OWN minds COPS = Cowards on Patrol!
7:45,
Really?
It three days without law enforcement infrastructure, you would be someone's doormat, sex toy and food.
As much as you want to act like the a navy seal prepper type, there is always someone bigger and badder. If not, there are just more in overwhelming numbers looking for what you have. You probably wouldn't last past your first fired shot, after it gave you away. The hoards would then probably pull you apart and drag you through the streets like a rag doll till they got bored. Then they would probably set you up like a beer bottle on some fence somewhere, and shoot at you with your own guns then eat your liver when they were finished and hungry.
There is evil in this world and you have no idea just how bad and how much. Trust me.
2-15, 7:45am: Excellent! Bravo you!
7;45, the same loser on the other thread. Geeez, how many times did you apply and get REJECTED!!!
2-16, 11:42am: Excellent! Bravo you!
