The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Ray Schultz.....COME ON DOWN!!!!

"I work with departments to help them limit their liability exposure and limit the amount of internal investigations, law suits and payouts they have to give. I help them save time, money and their reputations by eliminating their frivolous complaints"  --Ray Schultz, Independent Taser Distributor

Well it seems like here in Albuquerque, we're not the land of manana, but the land of reverse.  About a year ago, APD's former and now disgraced chief Ray Schultz inked a deal with Taser International for almost $2 Million. After hooking Taser up with the biggest government contract in the company's history, he then did an early retirement and unlawfully left to work with the very vendor he "greased" the city's checkbook for.

Now we are told Berry and Perry are paying somebody $50,000 to come up with a policy as to what to do with these cameras that Schultz the Sheister sold to us. Of course, that amount of cash (about what it costs to pay a single officer in a year) pales in comparison to the costs in loss of productivity.

You see, our doing things at the speed of business duo running the city, Berry and Perry, have conceded that operating the Taser cameras and managing the data during their shift deprives officers of 15-20% of their time while on-duty. Let's do a little Eye-Math shall we?

An officer works an 8-hour shift at $26.44/hour...that's $211.52 per day, before taxes, for 480 minutes worked. But wait, we have the Taser excise tax, which eats (and we'll split the difference of 17.5%) 84 minutes of the day which is about 1.4 hours. So out of the money our taxes are paying the officers, $37.16 is being spent on a product thanks to RayRay. It may not sound like much but an overhead cost of 17.5% on labor sure should make the kids in the Republican Party lose their mind--after all they, and Berry, are the party of efficiency right?

Oh wait, isn't that what Schultz trying tell us with his sales pitch that Taser-cams save us time and money? Well folks, we don't have to be a UNM professor getting paid $50,000 to tell you we've been robbed. Funny, our Eyes are telling us Schultz has been laying low lately. There must be something coming soon regarding his little pyramid enterprise with Taser and violating laws coming out....

It comes to this folks: So first we're sold a bill of goods, now we have to figure out how to use them, and finally we'll have a policy that governs how they'll be used. Make perfect sense for a city that is the at the bottom of every list imaginable. But where's the outrage? Time to shake off the "it's not worth the effort" attitude and rise to the occasion. We all know "nature at play" is how thing work here, but nature also has a tipping point. Make some noise. And no TJ, we didn't mean that kind of noise.

UPDATE:  Here's a slide taken from Ray Schultz's Taser PowerPoint. Any takers???

I hope Hector Balderas splits Ray's ass in half over this Tazer issue. With Tazer, Redflex and the Kauffman's no bid contracts, this is a no brainer on what this is; a criminal enterprise, and RICO is his name-o!

Where is the US Attorney for New Mexico? Better yet, who is the US Attorney for New Mexico?

This is just like the Redflex deal in Chicago (and Albuquerque) where kickbacks were common. It is time to suspend the Taser contract and open an independent investigation into Ray Schultz and his dealing with Taser and Redflex.

US Attorney DO YOUR JOB!

And that goes for Kari Brandenburg and Gary King as well. Open this investigation!

Apparently Schultz only looked as far as his pocket book regarding Taser.

Here are some questions that should be asked:

What if a citizen asks the officer not to record?

Does the officer have any privacy rights?

If on private property (example being inside a home on a family fight) does that family have an expectation of privacy?

How long is video kept?

Since Taser owns the storage can they abuse their power?

Remember fellow citizens, everything on lapel camera is public record. The media, or anyone else, can request a copy of any police body camera footage. Unless you want Tom, Doug and the new guy at KRQE putting your most embarrassing or sad moments on the 6 pm newscast, you better make your voice heard.

The Eye is correct, this "study" should have been done before this "no bid" contract for $2,000,000 was signed. This is proof of a blatant kick to Schultz from Taser. A reward for getting our $2,000,000. And that is illegal.

Where is the Schultz quote from? RayRay is consulting with other police departments to duplicate the APD experience? Horrifying

Where's Ray now?!?!?!?! Are You Shitting me??? And now even the frkn Albuquerque Urinal is calling for Eden to step out of the shadows...

Is this really how a great police department is led? And what's going on with the lawsuit against the APOA? More dirt than possible I bet...colusion!!!

Eden is saying officers don't sign up as teams? No they dont compete on city time. Every year though dozens of officers and psas are removed from the field to walk around the competition convincing everyone what a great place to work APD is.
We have spent over $50,000 on this dog and pony show when you factor in the manhours.
Come up local media IPRA the memo each and every year that shows the two dozen reassigned for this event. NRA never reimburses the city. Why do you think they come back here every year?

Omfg that's RayRay's goodbye cake!!!!

Here's Joe Monahans take on the $50,000 Perry is spending to study when Officers should and shouldn't use their lapel cameras.

"Okay, Rob, you are ripe for an Alligator strike on this one. To the Pond:

I thought the city already had a policy. When the lapel cameras make APD look good, turn them on and get the video out immediately. When the video makes APD look bad, turn the damned things off or find some way to get rid of the tape."

Finally someone in the media is catching on to what we've known for years.

It used to be that any DA had wet dreams of indicting a "dirty" cop on corruption charges. I guess the DA's around NM are just as corrupt and don't want to stir the muck up on themselves.

Anonymous said...

Saying the DA's office is corrupt is giving them way too much credit. They, along with most of APD are inept. The DA's office is "led" by the lovely Kari Brandenburg who is about one step away from being committed to a mental institution, the rest of the office is on pins and needles, and overloaded with cases. When they do take things to trial they are barely able to put a case together.
Inept, not corrupt. Big difference.

Isn't illegal for Ray to continue to use APD emblems for his Taser presentations? I thought the city told him to stop. Just like he wasn't suppose to go to work with Taser for one year. He just doesn't care what the laws are and what the rules are. Ray Schultz is the Honey Badger of Albuquerque and Honey Badger just don't care. Honey Badger does it his way, the laws are only for the little people.

Schultz has cost this city more money in lawsuits than any chief in the history of the police department. He should change his middle initial to Raymond L(iar) Schultz.

I have noticed that several comments are being reduced to obscene riddled rants that accomplish nothing. I believe it's time for the blog owner to take this type of commentary to task or not post those types of comments. It tends to make occasional readers of this blog think that the poorly educated are the only ones reading. I, for one, hope that's not true.

I happen to enjoy reading TR. Unlike you oh sensitive one. He has substance.

I was just wondering if the TR was still around

Your first mistake: "I believe it's time blablabla". Do you seriously think that anyone on this planet gives a tiny fuck about what you believe?

#2: "It tends to make occasionable readers blablabla". Maybe "occasionable" is too often for you to mingle with the "poorly educated". By the way, Einstein - there is no such wor as "occasionable" The only acceptable substitute for your poorly educated grasp of the English language is "occasional".

Denver PD got sold a boatload of Taser axon cams.....i wonder if RayRay has his fingers in that mess. how bout it Rob Gibbs, we're you the hook up there??

Anonymous said...

@8:20
Read that post again dumbass, the word used is "occasional" and is spelled properly..you are the one with limited education, it's quite clear you cannot read! You must be an APD cop! So stick your bullshit up your crooked cop ass! Go shoot some unarmed, mentally handicapped, homeless person, that's all APD is good for! You, 8:20, are a perfect example of what that commentator was referring to!

Now that Berry has been on YouTube, when is Eden and Perry going to start using YouTube for their press conferences. This way you don't have the media asking questions. That's what you call transparency, NM style.

Anonymous said...

Youtube is the new plan. When you make an idiot out of yourself on television all the time and when you run out if underlings to prop up in front of the television because every time they show up, they make idiots out of themselves, you take out all of the equations that contribute to these asshats making idiots out of themselves, (eg. Being asked for the truth, being asked questions that take a little thought to answer and being asked the truth) and when they still fuck up, you just have them keep redoing it until they get it right. The funny thing is that these assholes can stack the entire deck in their favor and eliminate any outside variable and they will always look like complete imbecils every time they open their lying mouths. Case in point, the mayor sounded like he was reading a bedtime story on mister roger's neighborhood with his latest youtube fabrication. I laughed pretty hard when the woodhead said "in continuing with the tradition of transparency." If this asshole thinks his administration has had an ounce of transparency, I bet he thinks he can see sunshine and blue skies while swimming at the bottom of a tar pit with his eyes open at night.
I do not think Albuquerque has had a bigger scum bag for mayor in the history of the city.

8-31, 7:38am: You already blew it. You even altered my comment at 7:05pm. A lot of people read the "occasionable" comment in its original state. You can't shovel enough bullshit to cover this one.

No, your village wants you back you squeaky voiced non lawyer self serving butthole. Now I know exactly who you are. It's a good thing that you will never practice law again in the state of New Mexico.

I agree with you. It's about time someone calls this uneducated ranter out. Thsnk you!
