The Piercing Truth

Harris Landslide

We've long been lamenting the lack of competition in this year's council race. Frankly, the only race that's close is the District 5 race between incumbent Michael Cadigan and challenger Dan Lewis. So it comes as no surprise that Councilor Harris took his October opponent David Barbour in a landslide in our most recent unscientific Eye Poll. 75% of Eye readers prefer Councilor Harris, 25% of readers prefer David Barbour (view it here).

This week we take a look at one of the core issue in the mayoral race - public safety. Do you feel safer that you did four years ago? Chief Schultz does, do you? Don't forget to vote!

The rumor mill in Four Hills has identified Barbour's most surprising comrade, Commissioner Brasher. Why would he help a radical nut?

I haven't heard that! I don't believe that! Brasher is more opt to help out somebody like Sun Cal or Martin Chavez, but not for the people like helping out businesses like, Bode Aviation fight against corruption like from people like Marty farty.

Did Brasher and Harris have a falling out? Eye, take a look at Barbour's website which hosts a support for the Modern Streetcar! Brasher is (I think) against the Modern Streetcar and the idea of spending that much money as are most people! So, it would have to be because A) Brasher decided to become an atheist, too! B) Brahser is also a radical nut!

News flash - people have jobs and interact with other people in various roles. I believe that Brasher's "support" of Barbour involved a business matter totally unrelated to the city council or county commission. Get your facts straight before you bash people.

Did the welfare queen of radio stations that plays left wing propaganda, public radio, bring them together? One guy makes a living at a local tax financed radio station and the other is a communist that hates free market radio. Did left wing welfare radio unite these two?

Maybe politics and family that brought them together. One person had a campaign treasurer with the name Barbour and the other guy is named Barbour. Did one guy recruit the other guy to run?

It does not matter what brought Barbour to Brasher. A real conservative would never help a radical that protests against the United States in another country.

I was at a Republican breakfast where Brasher said that if he did not run for City Council he would back Harris.

Then Brasher spent the next half hour trashing Harris (while Harris sat there). I heard that Harris spoke the week before and did not say a word about Brasher. Harris was positive, people said, and talked about the future and party unity.

Then Brasher found out he could not raise money against Harris and that Harris's polling numbers were high.

Brasher spent years going after Harris and his policies, because Brasher thought the seat belonged to him, not the people; when the people clearly were liking what Harris was doing, Brasher showed that he is neither a gentleman nor a team player.

So the Libertarian goes and gives talking points to a communist who hates our country and believe in streetcars AND trolleys (read his answers to his questionnaire in the Journal).

Strikingly, Brasher cannot even honor the office he held for 12 years and wanted badly to return to. Whatever Brasher might have been when his better angels were in charge, he has become a very bitter and proud man.

Where is Brasher's support of Harris he promised before a group of Republicans at his talk on that Friday morning?

If your in the Martin Chavez (farty marty) camp and would like to relocate to the RJ BERRY camp or Romero CAMP, then please allow 3to 4 days time for campaign staffers to get a pair of tweezers to remove your tick infestation (in case you have ticks). That means a lesson in ethics like how not to extort from local business such as, Bode Aviation!
