The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. They're On - They're Off - They're On Again

The Mayor of Albuquerque continued to play his childish games today when he announced the return of his red light scam at high noon tomorrow. The Almighty One claimed that the scam has squirreled away enough money to keep it running for another 4 years before the "excess revenue" runs out - that is of course if the city's looming budget crisis doesn't catch up with him first.

For those of you who have some kind of political ambitions or are simply political junkies, since bringing the scam-eras online, Marty has provided you with an example of how not to implement a controversial public program.

Last week's attempt to stick it to Big Bill and the Legislature by taking his shovel... uh, scam-eras and going home has clearly failed. Now he's making the attempt to save face by turning the scam back on under the cover of needing the past week "to study the effects of the Legislature's action and what would happen if the cameras weren't sending people tickets (ABQ Journal - Subscription)."

Horsepuckey! We'd love to hear the Almighty One's technical explanation of how the operation of the scam-eras would affect an audit of the system and a review of the legislation. Those damn cameras have been flashing away since 2005 and the administration has been making all sorts of claims about their effectiveness. They haven't had to pull the plug to manufacture those numbers... Why now?

Even more unbelievable is the claim that "
Red-light and speeding violations doubled after the cameras were turned off, Chávez said (ABQ Journal - Subscription)." That's an even bigger load than that "study" crap. We don't know about you but we didn't observe any madcap rush to go out and run red lights. Besides, how could we believe any numbers presented by the city after their recent history of using creative math (intersection crash statistics, the number of police officers at APD, the number of animals in shelters, greenhouse gas emissions, etc.).

Marty's claims are simply idiotic. We should all be insulted by his attempt make us swallow this crap. More importantly, we should also be terrified that this impulsive, vindictive, childlike mayor is making the decisions that directly affect our wallets and our safety.

"bad boys bad boys, whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you?"

Nothing because there aren't enough of them to come for you. They'll be too busy busting cell phone users, red light runners and water guzzlers.

Enough of this... I need to plant some grass on my roof!

How can anyone say that these lights are a supreme form of keeping our roads safe. It is simply like when people are speeding down a 35mph road at 65mph and spot a officer a mile down the road and immediately slow down. Some aren't caught and for many it is simply not a deterrent for their constant speeding. These red light cameras are not any different. They are simply a scam that is all and nothing more.

Yeah! three cheers for the Mayor. Stand up for the honest hard working citizens in our community. Get those cameras up and running & protect the people that obey the law & punish those that don't. Good for you Mayor !

I agree, the Mayor is an idiot. Does he really think people believe his new song and dance. We all knew that he made buckets of extra cash on the red light cameras that he had stashed away to balance his budget! I had hoped the Mayor and his staff would be much more professional in running the city, but it has just become much worse!

I guess his bluff against the Governor didn't work! Did you see the quote from the Gov's office slamming the Mayor.

Again, what an idiot. To the Mayor, it's all about cash flow, not public safety! He could not stop the cameras , as his golden goose stopped laying the golden egg. The Mayor needs and wants that cash flow and money is all that the redlight cameras are about!

Hey A-hole, three up; "three cheers for the mayor"
You've got to be kidding. It IS the law abiding, hard working stiffs that are getting nailed. What F_ _king dream world are you living in. Once again, it's the biddy, fuddy duddies that are never on the road who support this bullshit. As for the people in business driving these streets all day long, we are bound to get a ticket due to a marginal call by the camera, without the benefit of an actual officer witnessing the alleged infraction. So to you supportes, get your errands over with early in the morning, get to Furr's Cafeteria and home before rush hour hits and stay the F_ _k off the streets , so productive working stiffs can get their work done.

In case you don’t know let me share with you the definition of a hypocrite:

Hypocrite: A person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs, feelings or actions.

I’m sorry I must have not noticed all the drivers out there sporting halos! In case you didn’t know going even 1 over the speed limit is breaking the law…lol everyone all over this world who drives has at one point in their lifetime, gone over the speed limit! (Check statistics) The majority of the time it is not done with malice, with the intent on breaking the law… just a fact of life…so if you have never gone over the speed limit once then you sir or madams are a hypocrite! I would love the chance to inspect your halo…however if my statistical information is correct you’re wearing horns…! So please do us all a favor and shut the hell up. I’m sure you are not a civilian but another one of Marty’s mules or Marty himself. I wouldn’t put it past him to blog nice words about himself. Sellouts!

On another note, yesterday afternoon I was shocked and surprised that there were 3 police cruisers patrolling the intersection of Montano and Coors! Can’t Ray find something better for them to do. If we are so short on officers like they say then why use our resources for monetary gain. Serve and Protect? Who are they serving, who are they protecting? I would love to see if intersection accidents went up during our week without cameras? Something tells me that didn’t happen, and convinces me that this is just a way of gaining revenue. Sad excuse for a city Albuquerque has become….so why is it do you think that we can’t get rid of the retard?

so if we are unhappy what can we do about it? If I wrote an email and letter or something will that change the behaviors of the administration?

what about the media do we call them on not reporting the scandals? Do we complain, who do we go to for justice? I think that is the question here. I would love to do more then complain on this blog can someone direct me to what I can do where to go and who to complain to?

APD; USE YOUR RESOURCES TO CATCH BASTARD GANG BANGERS, THIEVES, BURGLARS, ARMED ROBBERS, RAPISTS, HOODLUMS, PERVERTS, MURDERERS, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, DRUNKS,HOME INVADERS, INSTESD OF FOCUSING, (TO THE POINT OF EXHAUSTION), YOUR RESOURCES ON BUSTING THE COMMON CITIZEN FOR INADVERTENLY SPEEING OR RUNNING A RED LIGHT.
THIS SCAMERA SCHEME MUST BE DAMN IMPORTANT FOR SOME REASON. LIKE ANOTHER COMMENTER STATED ABOVE.
CHILD SUPPORT, ALIMONY, HUSH FUNDS, PROSTITUTES, LIQUOR,DRUG HABITS. DID I MISS ANYTHING?
THERE IS OBVIOUSLY ABOUT 8 PEOPLE WHO ARE DIRECTLY BENEFITING FROM THIS CASH SKIMMING SCHEME.THEIR PERSONAL CASH COW.

You know its funny how the supreme being (Marty Chavez) said that violatons of speeding and red light running went through the roof while the cameras were disabled. I do not trust you Marty, just because you said so show me the stats on paper instead of your usual "BS" fear tactics that you use all of the time on the citizens of the "Q". I dont trust you you sob!

Anonymous said...

Wether you like the cameras or hate them, I dont care. If Uncle Bill signs the legislation forcing the city to give up the revenu to the state from the cameras, then I will be citing every one under the city traffic code so the state will get even less. I will do this on every traffic citation.

Anonymous said...

Ok prick, who ever you are . Just 'cause Bill & Marty a playing like high School girls, you're just going to F- _k john Q. Public. Am I ready you right?

Strange how the Mayor and APD Chief could not produce stats on the red light camera accidents for the past three years as they said they was not enough data.

The red light camera's are off for one week and now the Mayor and Chief say the data indicates that speeding has gone through the roof. They sure were able to get speeding data in one week, but could not get proper accident data to support their red light cameras for three years when every accident is documented.

The Chief and Mayor are nothing more than bad lairs. Shame on
them! I hope the Governor takes all their dirty money.

To say that divers would start running red lights and speeding just because the cameras had been turned off is a bunch of malarkey. Reasonable people act reasonably.
I would bet that if one could collect all the data as to how many people speed and the number of accidents caused by speeding the results would be a fraction of a percent. But the boys downtown tell everyone we have an epidemic on our hands. And what is their cure, hand out civil violations.
How do civil violations reduce the problem they say we have?
Civil penalties have no standing in taking away someones license.
With the addition of all that has gone on in the last few weeks, for the city to say this is for public safety is even more ludicrous. Anyone who gets a red light camera ticket now would have a field day, in a real civil court, with the city. By turning these things back on and handing out more citations, Marty is setting the city up for some big lawsuits. I'm sure there are some hungry lawyers out there.
Red light/speed cameras do nothing to fix the problem we have all been told we have. They just put money into the city coffers and make the population that much poorer in lost income and freedoms.
I don't understand why the people of Albuq have not linched this man.

AAAAh. Billy's gonna take their goody fund(play around money).
Guess they'll,all have to find another way to fleece and scam us

You guys crack me up to no end. You all laud Bill as some kind of a savior. What a laugh. Big Bill, arrogant prick and NM #1 crook, will sign the legislation to raid the city's coffers. This means the cameras will remain operational and you will still be getting fleeced and scammed, except not only will your hard earned scafflaw dollars be going up to Santa Fe so they can start paying down the Rail Runner, Spaceport and any other pork these crooks can think of, but now you will also be taxed by the city to subsidize the program. So my friends, they will continue to f*ck us without so much as a kiss beforehand. What ever happended to foreplay?

Anonymous said...

What can we do? The media option is out - it's too censored here - there is no free press. Those that suggested lawyers and lawsuits - have you actually been in the courts here? They're corrupt to the max - no help there. Only one thing to do - follow the lead of those just before the advent of our country when they were unreasonably taxed - the Boston tea party! You have to organize and get in the streets to protest. Nothing's going to change until that happens. Talking to each other on this blog is a beginning. There are a lot more of us than there are of the goofballs screwing up our city.

Anonymous said...

You're right, I have been in the courts around here and they are corrupt. I guess the only thing left to do is to a take a hack saw to the light posts and keep cutting them down until we are all in jail.

Big Bill, don't let that little worm Marty change your mind on the red light camera bill. Marty is a dirty little worm and does not like you anyhow. Let him have it. P.S. would Marty do it for you, I think not! Marty would hammer you and I think you know that.

It is funny how many people take for the gospel truth what a radio talk show host, who thrives on conflict for his ratings/income, and deny what the real truth is. That truth, ladies and gentlemen is that the number of citations given out by the red light cameras is decreasing the longer they are in service. That tells me that fewer people are running the red lights, and common sense would dictate less crashes would occur. This means you and your loved ones are safer than they ever have been before while driving on the streets of Albuquerque. There just can not be an officer at every intersection to enforce our traffic laws. The Mayor has made it plain this is not about the money, by continuing the program after funding has been cut. This is about safety, no matter what the consiracy theory crowd decides to believe. Officers should be supporting Chief Shcultz, remeber why they became officers, and be thankful for the security, honor and career being an Albuquerque Police Officer provides to them and their families.

Anonymous said...

I do applaud APD officers, but administration is a different bird.

If what you say is true about citizens aren't running as many red lights, then why won't the Mayor & Schultz give the real numbers when asked?

Because, it is all about money!!

WHY WON'T KEN SANCHEZ ALLOW THE RED LIGHT MONEY TO REDUE AN OLD FIRE STATION. THAT'S WHAT TJE MONEY IS FOR, PUBLIC SAFETY. i'LL BET MARTY CHAVEZ IS MAKING SANCHEZ OPPOSE IT!

EYE, WHY DON'T YOU DO A POLL ON IF THE MAONEY SHOULD BE USED FOR PUBLIC SAFETY WHICH IS REDOING THAT #2 FIRE STATION. THIS WOULD BE A GREAT BLOG
