Nothing worse than a Bad Berry

Once again, we are finding out who RJ Berry's true supporters are. A few weeks ago Paul Kennedy had a fundraiser at his law firm. Now the Branch Law Firm is putting on a show for Berry. This one is Tuesday night at from 5:30-7:00pm off of Rio Grande N.W. 

Funny, the cost per plate has been cut in half from $500/plate to $250/plate. Thanks to our many Eyes, perhaps we'll get to see what one gets for $250? Or maybe we'll see who comes out to this week's festivities like last time.

Does anybody need further proof this is a mayor that fails to lead? And that the people who most desire him to stay in place are those that make money from him?  You see, it is a co-dependency. They need Berry in office to give them free money and business they would not otherwise get and Berry needs their money to bankroll his campaign.
For a mayor whose city is in shambles, whose public safety departments are in crisis, who is the target of numerous federal investigations, he sure enjoys high end dinners. Especially at Scalo's.

Oddly enough, when it comes to personal one-on-one dialogue, RJ Berry and his handler Tito Madrid, can't run away fast enough. Perhaps that's why Berry was a track & field athlete, because he likes to run away. Like run away from real public dialogue. Like run away from addressing honest controversy. Like run away from responsibility.

Enjoy your meal Mr. Mayor. And for those that contribute to keeping RJ Berry as mayor, know that you are voting with your money to keep an administration in place that has blood on its hands.

Changes Again

Back in 2008, we at the Eye alerted our friends to the many financial irregularities going on in the APOA. You see, as we reported then APOA president Ron Olivas certainly enjoyed his unsupervised use of the APOA credit card courtesy of member dues money. From cigar purchases to daily lunches, Olivas fed himself and took care of himself well.

Then when accused wife beater Joey Sigala took over the APOA, Olivas left and went to APD's Intelligence Unit. While Olivas was there, he leaked information about an FBI investigation concerning a friend of former officer Brad Ahernsfield to Mr. Ahrensfield himself. While then Officer Ahrensfield got hung out to dry, Olivas took over 100 hours of unpaid leave and then was allowed to resigned with his pension.

Oddly, then APOA President brought a confirmed liar and leak on APOA salary as a "labor consultant" and paid him over $40,000/year plus a handsome package of benefits. Including new suits.

 

Since back in 2008, many of our Eyes continued to advise us that Mr. Olivas was essentially a double agent. While he spoke a big game of representing the membership; he was also endlessly leaking information to APD Chief Ray Schultz and Albuquerque Journal report Jeff Proctor. This continued both from his time as APOA President to as recently as last week according to our Eyes.

And finally, we are told, Olivas was caught leaking information out (to Schultz) about the recently elected APOA President Stephanie Lopez.

So the question to ask is, how many officers did Olivas harm in leaking privileged information? How many other Ahrensfields are out there? What about former officers Doyle and Woolever? What did Olivas know and what did he do with that information?  Our Eyes tell us, Olivas and former APOA vice president Tommy Henderson not only ran their mouths like faucets but went so far as to keep their own files on officers and their allegations of misconduct...just in case.
 

We invite Mr. Olivas to respond to these concerns. We know he's been a frequent poster in the past. And Ron, don't think we don't know who you've been seen with lately either. Something involving small fruit we are told...
 

Sadly, this is but the first of a few stories this week involving traitors to APD rank and file personnel. Not only has Olivas betrayed his oath and his loyalty to his brothers and sisters, but a certain spouse has been causing quite a stir. The time for that little nugget to see some daylight has come. President Lopez made a command decision to rid the APOA of Olivas.  We applaud Lopez for her vigilance and loyalty to serving the APOA membership and the citizens. Nobody likes a rat (well, except Schultz).

Don't worry maam, we're happy to chat anytime, anyplace. You can even bring whom we suspect is your new buddy, Ron Olivas with you....

Berry needs to check his Calendar

Since we all know Berry says he is a Republican and a conservative and a businessman, etc... We all know he is really a big failure.  Everyone knows where Berry has been (and been up too) and what his real beliefs are; and they are not Republican, conservative or good businessmen type beliefs.

Check your calendar Berry and put on your purple Barney suit...When you get back "pretend" you are a conservative. Maybe stop by the local church and have that "conversation" with the pastor.

Celebrating 237 Years of Freedom

As we celebrate our 237th anniversary it is notable to say that most civilized democracies do not last over 200 years. The fact that we are well past that timeline seem to state we have the right type of   democracy.

 

What a Great Country!

You Might be an Idiot if…

Just a few thoughts on some history of the City of Albuquerque under the control and dictatorship of Berry.

If you promise to get rid of a police chief as part of your platform to get votes and after being elected you keep that chief another four years; you might be an idiot.

If your police department is being led by a chief who has a well-documented history of lying and is under the Department of Justice investigation for police abuse and you STILL keep that chief; you might be an idiot.

If you have a police chief who failed to terminate a problem PROBATIONARY employee who was under suspicion of murdering his wife and you keep that chief; you might be an idiot.

If your police department is handed a TEN MILLION DOLLAR verdict because of abuse where the offending officer had a history of abuse and lying and was never terminated; you might be an idiot.

If all but one of the police department’s deputy chiefs are documented liars and you keep the chief who has done nothing but keep all his incompetent staff; you might be an idiot.

If you state at a public debate, “I am proud of Chief Schultz” knowing all the problems in APD are primarily his fault as the leader of the department; you might be an idiot.

If you have a fire chief you have kept who has been a poor leader with a dismal record scared with a drunken girlfriend asking for favors; you might be an idiot.

If you have a fire chief who does NOT possess an educational degree but will not hire qualified people who do have an educational degree; you might be an idiot.

If you are privatizing the city to give your friends contracts or as a cheap tactic, to later force contractors to contribute to your re-election campaign; you might be an idiot.

If you are scared to do an open public debate with other candidates; you might be an idiot.

If you do not take care of your employees and fail to provide them with a contract for close to four years; you might be an idiot.

When your city loses 3,900 jobs in a year due to your lack of business skills and people are out of work and have no money to pay for food and gas; you might be an idiot.

If the public votes NO on your boutique projects and you find a way to steal money from other city funds to pay for your boutique projects when the voters told you no; you might be an idiot.

If you have party to fund raise with a minimum of $500.00 per person plate and you fail to appear; you might be an idiot.

If you are busy acting fake by riding in the Gay Pride Parade for the sole purpose of getting their vote; you might be an idiot.

If you claim to be a businessmen and you forced the city into the toilet; you might be an idiot.

If you have a pet snake on loan from the Governor’s Office; you might be an idiot.

If you are thinking about voting for Berry after you know all these facts; you might be an idiot.

Nothing personal here, these are all fact about Berry.

Albuquerque NOT part of Family Circle

As everyone probably knows by now Albuquerque’s under the control and direction of the “great” businessmen, Mayor Berry is always at the top of the lists; BAD LISTS that is.  Recently Albuquerque was not part of the Family Circle Magazine (READ IT HERE) but the City of Rio Rancho was; the big question is why? What gives Rio Rancho an overall advantage? 

Family Circle looked at such items such as affordable homes, quality of schools, access to health care, green space, a low crime rate and financial stability.

If you look at those same items with the City of Albuquerque, with Berry at the helm, we are basically locked in the ‘out-house’ on a hot day with no vents or windows. 

Our housing market is terrible because people are out of work, people are fleeing the city in droves and we don’t have good/strong leadership.

Thanks to Berry’s lackadaisical attitude; Berry hasn’t lifted a finger to at least try and change APS’s failures.  Meanwhile, Brooks who makes more than Gov. Martinez, per year, has been living high on the hog and has done very little to improve APS.

You are better off driving to Rio Rancho to be seen when you need care compared to waiting at one of Albuquerque’s hospitals for eight or more hours to be seen.

Rio Rancho received high marks for green space. While under Berry and his privatization, our green space are discarded and unmaintained.  Before Berry dumps a ton of money on his legacy projects; perhaps he should spend that money more wisely and invest in our green space.

Thanks to Berry’s failure to address the underlining cause (reason) for Albuquerque’s high crime rate which is drug use and addiction.  In some areas of Albuquerque the property crime rate is up over 83%.  The ONLY candidate who has promised to address the drug problem is Paul Heh.

The City of Albuquerque has suffered decreased fund availability because so many businesses are being forced out due to Berry’s mismanagement of the city.  Anyone wonder why Berry suspended his business license? Or why he has failed to fully release his tax records from the previous election to present time?

We need a mayor who cares about Albuquerque and the citizens of Albuquerque.  Berry’s only concern is holding onto the power of being mayor so he can help all his friends and build his pet-peeve project so he will have a legacy when he is gone. Berry must have been the errand-boy or the guy who bangs erasers or sharpens pencils in college because he knows nothing about being a businessman. No more elitist mayor’s; we need a mayor who places the City of Albuquerque and the citizens as their number one concern.

Dorothy and Toto Make Rare Appearance

Last Thursday, all three Albuquerque Mayoral candidates attended a non-confrontational forum hosted by the New Mexico Business Coalition. The NMBC is a non-profit organization that has a very Libertarian approach to government operations and is very pro-business. The NMBC is also run by former APD captain Larry Sontag. In a packed conference room at the Albuquerque Country Club, all three candidates, Heh, Dinelli, and Berry were asked the same series of questions concerning the current state of Albuquerque's affairs and how to get out of the mess we are currently in.

And let’s be clear about that, because the questions were specific in confirming Albuquerque is in a fiscal and institutional mess.

Having come from prevailing in the preliminary ethics complaint hearing against incumbent Berry (notice once again, little if any media coverage concerning that juicy tidbit), candidate Dinelli was quick and deliberate in his answers showing his confidence is well deserved in handling questions tossed his way.

Candidate Heh's approach was, while just as informed but less formal. This isn't surprising because he is not a politician. Heh is a veteran of the armed services and veteran police sergeant. He engaged the audience and reminded folks he is not a politician.

Incumbent Berry's approach was, well, bizarre. When asked about Chief Schultz and APD, Berry remarked he was "proud of Ray Schultz." That drew a collective gasp from the audience. When asked the same questions as the others, Berry provided answers to things not asked. In other words, he avoided the questions and remained noncommittal on the important topics covered. Interestingly, incumbent Berry hid amongst his handler Tito and stayed away from Mr. Heh and Mr. Dinelli.  Berry acted like a scared child out on the playground.  There was no threat to Berry other than being thrown out of office; besides Berry has plain clothed officers in the audience to “protect him.”  What a coward…

On Saturday, there was another candidate forum at Albuquerque's Center for Peace and Justice. While Mr. Dinelli and Mr. Heh were there to a packed hall taking questions from folks on the other end of the political spectrum than the folks at the NMBC, once again the two challengers stood out in their commitment to engage voters while Berry once again...hid.

Our Eyes tell us there is friction between the McCleskey special people known as Darren White and Susan Martinez and Berry's people. It seems, tossing Darren to the curb during his fiasco has left a bitter taste in certain people's mouths and Berry may be on the outside of the circle that put him in place as the mayor. But we'll see.

In the meantime, little attack dogs have arrived and are pestering candidate Heh on his Twitter page: www.twitter.com/pauljheh.  There is some very funny and woefully uninformed banter going on there. Some are accusing Mr. Heh of being a hardcore liberal, while others are accusing him of using fake Twitter accounts to defend himself.  One of Berry’s main attack dogs name is “politix…” this little lady is so backwards, she can’t even spell the word “politics" correctly.

If anybody knows anything about Paul Heh, it's that he goes to the fight himself and puts his name on the ticket. Whether it's at city council about misconduct by Darren White, the APOA about misconduct by then-president Joey Sigala, or ineptitude and corruption by Mayor Berry and Chief Schultz, we at the Eye have never seen Mr. Heh not personally and directly confront issues.

This will prove to be a monumental week for the city of Albuquerque and APD. Our Eyes are flooding us with emails about some major changes that have happened and will be happening....stay tuned.
