The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. THE RUSSIANS DID IT. That, and more excuses from those caught tampering with evidence. Plus the letter from Brandenburg to the Feds. Enough is enough. .

The blame game put forth by this lying, criminal enterprise we call a city administration is getting better by the minute. We came across video of a civilian police oversight meeting, where members of the CPOA were discussing being told by the city attorney Jessica Hernandez, and Chief Administrative Officer Robert Perry, that Taser's evidence.com / AXON data storage may have been hacked. We here at the Eye are getting a kick out of this. We bet next they will be blaming little green men for stealing the computer from the evidence room. Watch it here:

You see, now these malfeasants need an excuse for videos going missing, because they know they are caught, and who do they blame?!? The vendor they are involved in a "diametrically different" bid / contract deal with. That's right folks! These liars can not keep their plans or stories strait from one day to the next. They can not keep a line on their lies. This place has become a lie factory under their watch. It is absolutely ludicrous, and there is no honor or loyalty between thieves.

The city wants to award a contract to a company who's internet security they do not have faith in, and believe may have been compromised. Of course we know this is a ruse to cover for their own actions, but we wonder what Taser has to say about these allegations. Time will tell, as these morons dig their hole deeper and deeper.

We think it is about time a few people step down, maybe put the Scotch down, debloat, sober up, and cut a deal with the feds soon. Perry, Schultz, and Berry should think about cooperating with the feds, and giving themselves up because the inevitable is already in motion.

LETTER FROM KARI BRANDENBURG TO THE FEDS

Above is the letter former Bernalillo County District Attorney Kari Brandenburg wrote to the Department of Justice. The letter sums up what has been going on perfectly, and really rounds out an opinion of this regime from every angle now. The citizens, officers within, and now the DA's office all concur that a criminal enterprise is afoot here. We think it's not only something we all agree on, but it will be a major point in this election.

The City is being run by criminals and henchmen. It is about time a commission is assembled to deal with these scum bags. THE KNAPP COMMISSION COMES TO MIND! Please take the time to listen to David Durk's statement to the Knapp Commission below....

David Durk's moving testimony CLICK ON THE LINK AND LISTEN TO IT. IT IS WHAT BEING A POLICE OFFICER IS ALL ABOUT. THE COMMAND STAFF OF APD DO NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT, NOR HAVE THEY EVER HEARD ABOUT IT.

One final thing. In late December a Bernalillo county grand jury returned an indictment on the piece of shit that murdered our brother Daniel Webster. We here at the Eye will not engage or promote a bickering contest or debate the handling of this prosecution. What we will do is put it to bed right now.

There are many times cases get handed off to other prosecutors, wether it be more resources, or better funding. There are a multitude of reasons this happens. Our sources close to things have told us that the New Mexico Attorney Generals office took this case, and the family of Daniel feels good that they did. That is all that matters. The Bernalillo County DA's office is in transition right now, and we believe they would be able to handle this case just as well, but a little help from the state is not a bad thing considering the inundation the county is facing right now. We will leave it at that. We do not believe this was a political maneuver. It was a resourceful tactic. God bless you Dan. We miss you.

It all began with this clown....
It all needs to end with this clown...

Taking it on the face...Susana Martinez style; Our after election night message

Does anyone remember the hashtag #NEVERTRUMP started here in New Mexico by the Governor's camp, especially that little pantywaste Darren White, as he constantly attacked Trump during his campaign? We here at the Eye do, because we did a story on it. (SEE IT HERE)We are going to make sure everyone else out there remembers what these self serving parasites did, as the presidential campaign was taking place! You see, Martinez and all of her political rats wanted to have their cake, and eat it too. They enjoy the short memory of the public, and they think playing the "it's all good now" game makes it all go away. Now, when their worst fears materialized, Martinez and the rest of the two faced, fence riding, back stabbing cowards like herself, and her favorite mayor Berry are ready to take it on the face. And take it all over the face they will.

This speaks volumes of the character of politicians like we have here today. They sell out YOU, and they sell out themselves. They stand for nothing. They are lower than those they point the finger at. As a matter of fact, they are disgusting, and not worthy of the respect of a field mouse. They are so lacking in their own self respect that they pathetically grovel.

After backing Berry in destroying the city of Albuquerque to keep her position, while doing a piss poor job herself, as she shat all over this state, Martinez had the audacity, and hypocrisy to say "Last night‘s victory is a testament to the American people’s frustration with Washington, and a federal government that has left them behind and weakened America’s standing on the world stage." Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. Oh boy, how funny these idiots are! Look at how quickly they separate themselves from other levels of government, while acting as if they are not even in the same ocean rather the same boat! Oh no, Mrs Martinez, the people are more fed up with YOUR state and local government, than they are anything else. They are sick and tired of a city that walks on everyone, a state that covers for them, and both who obstruct the federal government from doing anything about it. How's that, you self righteous fraud? The people are tired of assholes who have drunken pizzahhh parties, while throwing beer bottles from roof tops, like drunken frat members. They are tired of bullies, who throw their weight around to make the police go away, as they slur their words. They are tired of a Mayor like Berry. We don't need to get into why, on this post because this blog is full of a thousand reasons. You politicians are the problem.

We here at the Eye enjoy watching these dishonorable cowards walk back their comments, after they hedged their bets by publicly not supporting, or remaining silent about supporting Trump to avoid the rage of Hillary Clinton had she won. We here at the Eye say ENJOY YOUR FACIALS, SCUM BAGS. We knew you all would be on your knees mid election day, as Hillary Clinton cancelled her fireworks celebration in New York city. Maybe your water boy Jay McCleskey can hand you the towel afterwards.

Berry Blue Lie

Berry states he will rebuild the blue line in his last two years in office.  Berry will rebuild what he has destroyed.  Berry points some of the blame on the last administration, however we at The EYE say to Berry: you own this and this is YOUR mess.

It started with Berry at the start of his first term when he promised the Police Officers that he would replace Ray Schultz if elected.  This promise was  broken as soon as Berry won the election and reappointed Schultz as Police Chief and to make matters worse appointed Daren White as Public Safety Director.  These appointments proved to the officers that Berry could not be trusted.

Berry went on to cut police pay stating it was to avoid layoffs.  We at The EYE ask you Mr. Berry how are those layoffs working out for you now ?  Officers saw Schultz fire officers just to cover for himself in the media and to keep the D.O.J. away, all the while Schultz was greasing the wheels for Taser.  When Schultz finally left, Berry being the brilliant politician he is appointed Gorden Eden as Police Chief.

The rank and file know the Eden is nothing more than a political hack and has no respect of the rank and file. The top administration is different, with their large salaries and stealing the rank and file bonus money they are all happy. What is the result of all this mismanagement by Berry?  The rank and file officers started retiring in mass.  APD dropped from 1,100 Officers to 823 Officers with more retirements on the way.  Berry thinks that if he can have retired officers return and keep their pension, they will return on mass.  We at The EYE say think again. You expect them to come back, pay into a retirement fund that they not get anything for, go to the bottom of the seniority system and wind up on graveyard shift?

Berry they retired for a reason.  They don't trust you and don't want to be your next target.  The last part of the article in The Journal explains Berry's motive. Yes you guessed right: his political future.  Berry boasts there are thirty seven cadets in the academy. Let us at The Eye make something very clear to you M. Berry.  It takes 3 to five years for an officer to become a seasoned Police Officer once they graduate from the academy, and what are they learning in the academy with Tyler in charge?

Berry gives out raises to Police that are long overdue and settles their long standing lawsuit in an effort to stem the tide of Officers leaving.  The bottom line is all Berry cares about in his last two years is how to save his political future.  These last two years can't pass fast enough, while the murder rate in Albuquerque continues to rise. And oh yeah, where is Kent Walz and his paper now regarding Berry's $5 MILLION DOLLAR bailout for breaching the contract?!?!?!?!?!?!?

CAN THIS BE TRUE?

We at the EYE have been hearing for some time about the new Major at the A.P.D.  Training Academy, Jessica Tyler (Eversgerd her madden name).   You may remember the last A.P.D.  Academy Director, Mr. Wolf, was having an affair with a sworn A.P.D. Officer and resigned in customary APD disgrace. Our Eyes tell us that Major Evergerd-Tyler applied to A.P.D. in 1999 but was turned down because she failed the polygraph.
Well, you can guess what happened next. Evergerd-Tyler applied to The Bernalillo County Sheriff Department and was hired. As time went by Evergerd-Tyler was promoted to lieutenant under the nefarious Sheriff, Darren White. Evergerd-Tyler then became a captain was placed in charge of training for the Bernalillo County Sheriff Department.  Evergerd-Tyler's husband is a retired Sandoval County Sheriff deputy and is now working for The Sandoval County Sheriff, Doug Wood, in a civilian position, we are told with their training department.  The Sandoval County Sheriff Department is a small department so they pay A.P.D. or The Bernalillo County Sheriff Department to train their cadets.
Sandoval County had several new cadets to be trained; however neither A.PD nor Bernalillo County had an academy class going at the time. Now we have a new Bernalillo County Sheriff, Manny Gonzales, and it is discovered B.C.S.O. held an academy for the cadets who needed to get certified, mostly for Sandoval County.  It is also discovered J. Evergerd-Tyler was paid “under the table” to host and conduct that academy class. An investigation was started and J. Evergerd-Tyler resigned.  J. Evergerd-Tyler was then hired by A.P.D. given the rank of major and is now in charge of The A.P.D. Academy. We know Berry and Eden’s preferred job qualifications is someone who is unethical and controllable. Evergerd-Tyler exceeds both of these preferred qualifications.
Our Eyes tell us Rob Perry hired J. Evergerd-Tyler. Now let us not forget the nefarious Darren White is a reserve officer for Sandoval County and a close friend of Rob Perry. Our Eyes tell us Major Evergerd-Tyler Law Enforcement Certification has been sent to the Law Enforcement Board for de-certification. We know the administration has a good friend on the LE Board who commonly does the administration bidding.  IF THIS IS TRUE, MAYOR BERRY SHOULD FIRE ROB PERRY AND J. Evergerd-Tyler AT ONCE.  If this is true no wonder A.P.D.  is in free fall. If this is true, do you dare do this while under the eye of the D.O.J.?  We at the Eye want to hear from you. We know the rank and file know this story to be true. It is time; past time to get involved.  Local Media investigate, push the issue we nobody's have the right to know. As for Manny Gonzales, Thank You for standing up and doing the right thing.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALBUQUERQUE AND NEW MEXICO?

Just where should we begin?  We now have a Secretary of State, Duran, accused of misusing campaign funds to gamble. We have an out of control crime rate in Albuquerque and a broken Police Department with no morale. A little girl snatched off the street while the 911 operator tells the parent to stop chasing the abductor who has her child; the abductor is now free to strike again. High ranking at the Police Department telling you everything is fine. And last but not least, two failed superintendents we the “nobody’s” paid thousands to just so they would leave for their misconduct. Albuquerque is plagued with the mentality that all of this is acceptable and it is NOT.
Our EYES tell us Duran is now in rehab with Bonnie and Clyde being treated for a gambling addiction. If this is true she should do the right thing and resign immediately. She should also stand up and face her punishment which should be the same as the rest of us “nobody’s” would get if we committed a crime.  We all know that will never happen. Watch the politics begin because who she is; she is politician unlike us “nobody’s.”
We have shootings almost nightly. We have murder after murder, we have gangs running the streets stealing whatever they can get their filthy criminal hands on. We have carjacking’s; we even had a taxicab carjacked by a woman armed with a frying pan. We have our major interstate shut down by punks that think it’s funny to drive reckless and pull guns on us “nobody’s.” When these people are caught (if they are ever caught) and stand before a Judge; all you’ll have to do is look at them and you will know they are on drugs. Don't believe It; watch the local news. Of course the politicians will not admit to our drug problem with Albuquerque being rated at the top for heroin and methamphetamine abuse. Well, at least we made the top of the list for something.
This next issue will shock you. Millisa Torrez watched as her little girl was snatched off the street by a man later identified as David Hernandez, as he fled in his car. Mrs. Torrez chased after Hernandez in her can while on the phone to 911. The 911 operator told Torrez to stop chasing the car. YA RIGHT!!!!! What would you have done? We think we would all have done the same as Torrez. Torrez crashed her car into Hernandez car. Hernandez fled and Torrez saved her little girl. Police caught up to Hernandez but here it comes, CHARGES WERE DROPPED BY THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT OBTAIN ALL THE EVIDENCE TO PROSECUTE HERNANDEZ.  Hernandez is back on the street able to strike again.  Of course we realize Torrez and her little girl are “nobody’s” just like the rest of us.
Of course all the high ranking at The Police Department will tell you everything is fine, no need for all you “nobody’s” to worry. After all, we get our huge salaries and really don't care about you “nobody’s.” Heck we even give the Mayor 24/7 protection, because he is one of us politicians’ and in their eyes a somebody. Has anyone heard from Chief Eden?  We think he is taking after the Mayor and hiding under his desk.  Heck maybe the same desk.  Maybe Eden needs protection 24/7 just like the other coward?
Finally our schools.  Are you kidding us “nobody’s?”  Two failed superintendents that we the “nobody’s” paid thousands upon thousands of dollars to buy their silence and so they would leave. We “nobody’s” have a School Board that thinks they can meet and vote in secret and don't have to open the meetings to the “nobody’s” that are on the hook for all the payouts and everyone's salary. But don't worry we have a California Company looking for a new superintendent for us.  We in New Mexico are too stupid to look for ourselves and pay a local company to find us a good one. This is just like the Texas Company handling the accounting and license for Animal Humane. We are too stupid to do this and pay a local company and keep the money at home. Now ask yourself why are out of state people flooding local political campaigns with cash during elections. If you think we can't figure that out we guess we are just too stupid.  We at the EYE would like to hear from you.
P.S. School board here is a free Idea.  HOW ABOUT APPOINTING Mr. Moya Superintendent? You know, the same person you have on leave for doing the right thing and protecting us “nobody’s” and our children.
We “nobody’s” voted in these people and we have options. We can always vote them out when the times comes but right now we can force the people we elected to be accountable to us “nobody’s”!

Who is Smoking Dope? Integrity For Sale

Recently the public was notified the nefarious Darren White has most recently become one of the directors of Purlife as noted in a application to the State of New Mexico. The application from Purlife is a legal request to sell dope in New Mexico. As most recall, White left the State of New Mexico disgracefully after opposing the Governor policy on Marijuana; White then ran for Congress and lost to a liberal democrat; next White would later be bounced out of the City of Albuquerque in disgrace as usual.
Former Governor Johnson called the application (that includes White) hypocrisy. Johnson also called White a clown in a polite fashion and stated it was “unforgiveable.” White who made a music video while with the Albuquerque Police Department asking youths to say “No” to drugs now wants the Almighty Dollar over a gateway drug that poisons our youths and continue to ruin our society.
White was a police office in Houston Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico, Secretary of Public Safety Director, Bernalillo County Sheriff (two Terms), and Chief Public Safety Officer for the City of Albuquerque.  All of these positions held by White are or were law enforcement orientated positions. All of these positions demanded integrity.
According to our law enforcement eyes, they want no part of pushing dope in New Mexico and are very resentful by the manner White attempted to include honest retired and former law enforcing officials to his aspiration of being a big time legal dope dealer in our State. Real law enforcement officers do what is right; every time regardless who it may or may not benefit. Yes, it is called integrity.  Pushing dope legally or illegally is wrong.
White’s recently released statement is repulsive. White stated in part, “…I was asked by a company to develop and implement a risk assessment and security plan for their application.”  Whites’ past history has clearly shown he lies; we want White to immediate produce his “risk assessment and security plan for Purlife’s application.”  And an explanation on how he became one of the dope company directors compared to being an advisor or consultant? This appears to be nothing more than another lie to mask greed.
Is this just another White lie? Mayor Berry stood staunchly behind White when he fled in disgrace. We hope the Mayor would now see we were right about White; we were right about Schultz and we will be proven right about Eden.  The Eye advised and warned the public about White and Schultz and we warned Berry to. So will Berry man-up and admit he was wrong?
One final thought. Isn’t White a Reserve Deputy with the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Department? It is completely inappropriate and unacceptable to have an openly and active drug advocate tied to any law enforcement agency. Being in law enforcement requires integrity. True integrity is not for sale for any amount of money.

Time to Face the Facts

Berry has proven to be the worst Mayor in the history of Albuquerque. FACT! APD is being negligently mismanaged. FACT! And we the citizens are paying the price for both. FACT!

What to do about this horrific chaos has to be the primary focus of every citizen. Do we try and fire the mayor thus causing and creating more problems to the chaos he has already created? Do we try and push a completely useless City Council to do their jobs? Do we take to the streets like a bunch of wild buffoons and commit civil disobedience? Do we go out and buy a gun and start carrying it strapped to our sides and take the law into our own hands? The frustration among the citizens is horrendous.

Albuquerque is a magnet for every criminal in the country because we have the worst run city and police department in the USA. Proof, well, we don't have to look too far. Just last week here in Albuquerque, an ex-national news anchor was forced at gun point from a motel parking lot back to her room. In the end a gun battle ensued and her husband was shot several times and the offender was killed. Oh, and the offender; he wasn’t from Albuquerque he was just here visiting and abducting women at gunpoint to rob them.

Every single day we all hear it; there was a shooting in the NE Heights, one person dead. An accomplished high school student killed in a drive-by. Body found under a slab in a field on the Westside. The murders in Albuquerque are out of control due to an extremely poor run city and a negligently run police department. We wonder if the FBI is going to help out and find at least one of these murderers. We already know the FBI has assisted APD on employment personnel matters.

Most recently in today’s Albuquerque Journal (READ IT HERE) the featured story is APD’s response time to 911 calls. The story starts out by stating, “More violent crimes, More 911 Calls, Fewer cops.” The bottom line is; when a citizen calls for the police because they have an EMERGENCY they will not see a cop for at least 10 minutes and 43 seconds. A lot can happen in 11 minutes but why would Berry or Chief Eden care? Eden is pulling down $158,000.00 a year to provide the citizens with the worst possible service. Berry is sitting around daydreaming about being Governor.

“I think the (police) chief has us on the right track,” Mayor Richard Berry said in an interview. Mayor Berry in his traditional incompetent manner is promoting further incompetence. APD spokesperson Celina Espinoza stated in part concerning 2014 911 calls, “and those cases require a lengthy police response.” Why would any call ‘require’ a lengthy police response?  It is an emergency call for help; people need police assistance immediately. Incompetence invites and encourages more of the same.  City Councilmen, Ken Sanchez, stated he is “very concerned.” And according the Union vice president, “Nobody’s proud of it,” said Shaun Willoughby, the vice president of the Albuquerque Police Officers Association. “In a Priority 1 call, 45 seconds is the difference between life and death.” But the story did not say the Union was doing anything to help out either. There was nothing in the story that stated Willoughby is standing by officers by putting on a uniform and hitting the streets to assist on 911 emergency calls.  All of this is cheap talk from a bunch of cheap politicians.

Here is a statement concerning Gordon Eden; “Police Chief Gordon Eden previously said he has shuffled officers’ assignments to get more police officers in the field. Earlier this year, he reassigned police officers who were working in records and the crime lab back to patrol.” Eden did not state he put an extra 20 officers on the streets; he stated he shuffled the deck; which means nothing. But here once again, nowhere did it state Chief Eden has been working graveyard shifts in an effort to assist officers with 911 calls. No, Chief Eden has not handled one call for service nor has he ever written a police report; those types of tasks are beneath him. What a leader!

There is a fix for this and it can be accomplished fairly quickly with great results. The problem still lies with Berry and his refusal to admit Eden is the second biggest mistake he’s made. The first biggest mistake was retaining what appears to be a very corrupted former police Chief Ray Schultz. Eden must be fired immediately and a person who knows how to run a police department with the right answers needs to be appointed.

The story ends with this statement; “Police response times were a point of debate in the 2013 mayoral election. Berry’s opponent tried to show the city’s public safety was threatened by slowing response times. That was when the data showed police responded to Priority 1 calls in 10:11.”  In other words we were all warned by Paul Heh and Pete Dinelli before everything went to hell.

Berry Spars with Brandenburg

During a recent media event Kari Brandenburg stated what she believes the condition of Albuquerque is in.  Mayor Berry came back sharply at Brandenburg dismissing her statement and proclaiming the City of Albuquerque will continue to be grossly mismanaged while it is under his control.

Bernalillo County District Attorney, Kari Brandenburg, stated during a recent media release, “we are in a crisis that I’m not sure we will recover from; if we do, in my life time…” Finally, a local public official admits what we have been saying for a great deal of time.  In response to Ms. Brandenburg statement, Mayor Berry stated, “I’m not gonna read anything in between the lines on somebody else’s comments; we’ll just do what we’ve always done!”  To summarize what Berry stated: City leadership, or lack thereof, will continue screwing everything up as it has done in the past.

Here we are again, Berry making a fool of himself publicly.  When a popular DA states the City is in crisis even a fool should take that statement seriously.  But not our fool; he dismisses the statement and makes a childish rebuttal.  Perhaps the DA’s statement is a “red flag” or a warning to the mayor and the city?  Berry’s statement, “we’ll just do what we’ve always done!”  The mayor’s performance as a top manager has been nothing short of a travesty for the City and APD.  Now the mayor proclaims and reaffirms he will continue down the same destructive path he has set for the City and APD.

Here is a final thought with all sarcasm aside; Mayor Berry needs to heed to the signs he has been given and take immediate corrective action.  This is a sobering wakeup call for the Berry administration.  Brandenburg’s words were not soft or gentle but were true.  Get off the highway to hell.  Take the high road Mayor Berry, be a gentlemen and thank Brandenburg for her honesty and move forward with the business of caring for the citizens of Albuquerque.

Unqualified, Purely Political, and Dangerously Equipped

As our regular readers know, we are strong advocates of Constitutional rights and support the protection of personal liberties. For some time, our Eyes have been keeping us posted on the city's political office: the Real Time Crime Center. AKA the RTCC.

We cannot think of a greater local threat than the RTCC to our right to be free of unregulated government spying and intrusion. As our Eyes have told us, Perry/Berry routinely use the resources held by the RTCC for purposes other than it's stated mission: "Provide real-time information to field officers responding to high-risk calls."

You see the director of the RTCC is none other than former Albuquerque Journal police reporter Todd "TJ" Wilham:

Even though TJ has no experience running an intelligence unit (let's be real, that's what the RTCC is and among their activities is data mining), he does seem to qualify for one thing. He's a political hack. And don't take our word, or our sworn Eyes word for it. Here's confirmation from the city in their response to an recent IPRA request (or more accurately, an IPRA of IPRAs):

So TJ Wilham is a political appointee huh. He's has no law enforcement training, is not a sworn officer (that is took an oath of office and swore to uphold the law), was originally hired by Darren White as his public information officer, and then when shown walking papers was yet another person given preferential treatment by his Tasergate uncle, Ray Schultz. (If the pattern of Schultz giving underqualified people overpaid positions isn't clear enough, this takes the cake. Let's not forget former APDrs Karen Fisher and Karen Salazar either).

So Schultz places TJ in position where there is no oversight and from what our Eyes tell us, he routinely is doing research on citizens unrelated to field officers responding to calls. But rather, he is doing favors for Berry/Perry (and just how disconnected from Darren White is he?). And as the city confirms, TJ has no job description. And apparently is untouchable from being complained about by citizens. Really?

A political appointee using privileged and public department resources outside the scope of the unit's mission? We see that the RTCC has been nourishing for TJ:

But this stinks more like Josef Goebbels. Not in American do you do this TJ. Perhaps Mr. Heh and Mr. Dinelli should know, or demand to know, what public resources TJ used in support of the Berry campaign or continues to use.....

Bloviate..... JAY McCleskey police reports.

Bloviate:
/ˈblōvēˌāt/ verb informal   1.talk at length, esp. in an inflated or empty way.

As the city settles in the shadow of the mayoral election, RJ's paper, the Albuquerque Journal, continues with their self congratulatory articles as to why and how RJ won reelection. The paper promotes RJ's success to the challenger's poor efforts to RJ's likability. Of course absent from any discussion is facts or any real meat regarding his endless failures. The paper endlessly bloviates aboute RJ this and RJ that in how he won. Or more interesting and objective review would've analyzed how RJ was not beaten and how RJ could not lose given the paper's endless fawning over RJ

Finally, out from the shadows comes RJ's political adviser: Jason McCleskey.  Of the election, Jason says, "We made a concerted effort to reach out to voters who had not supported Republican candidates in the 2012 election, particularly Hispanics and women. Mayor Berry had a very compelling message that resonated across the board.”

Compelling? We at the Eye know what's compelling. What's compelling is how RJ has such a cozy relationship with people who have documented records of breaking laws and rules. So, while Jason enjoys the $250,000+ paid to him by RJ thanks to the many donors who we've listed. Here's a little hint of Jason's history...and his true nature.

Hell Hath No Fury....

What to do when you have a minor crisis on your hand? Create a larger crisis to conceal it; is a deft technique used since politics became the blood sport it is. Our Eyes are telling us that is exactly what happened in Friday morning's evacuation of City Hall.

Earlier on Friday, a petite dark haired woman is seen leaving a suitcase (not a box or a bag) on the receptionist's desk of Albuquerque mayor R.J. Berry's office. Instead of treating the bag as just that, the Mayor's office reportedly exploded into fear and treated the suitcase as a "suspicious device." The mayor's office even discounted the evacuation as something that political leaders have to deal with all the time.

After trying to distract all that it was a "briefcase" it's clear that it is a piece of carry-on size luggage. But what is truly stunning is what was inside of the luggage. Our Eyes tell us inside the empty luggage was a note with "you'll get what's coming to you" written on it.

Our Eyes have been telling us for months that Berry seems to have other extracurricular activities besides being the hideaway mayor. It seems this woman and her actions are fallout of those....activities. This would also explain Berry's near total silence about his FORMER police chief's comment and acceptance of sexual philandering in APD as merely "nature at play..."

It seems, much of the fallout that is occurring in the collapse of City Hall, is none other than "Nature at play" and frequently in comes in the form of a woman scorned....

Mayoral Candidate Paul J. Heh supports the “Unborn Child Protection” Ballot Initiative

You have to stand for something or you will fall for anything…

Mayoral Candidate Paul Heh stated, “I support the democracy of the ‘Unborn Child Protection’ ballot initiative. This initiative does not violate a woman’s right to decide or choose; however, it does limit the time to twenty weeks. An abortion after twenty weeks is simply barbaric.” Heh also stated the difference between this proposal and the current laws is four weeks.  This initiative is a win-win for all.
Mayoral Candidate Pete Dinelli says he opposes the initiative.

Mayor Berry was out of town (again; as usual) and had one of his flunky's make some type of rhetoric statement on his behalf.

Heh's approach appears reasonable and balanced in a three prong approach:

1)  The measure DOES NOT prevent the mother from making the choice/decision to have an abortion.

2)  The measure limits the decision to FIVE MONTHS to abort.

3)   The measure stop the barbaric death of the unborn child.

We agree with Heh that this initiative is a true win-win for all.

Schultz and Fischer Sitting in a Berry-Tree,_______...

As our Eyes have been reporting ever since APD's current chief, Ray Schultz was served a lawsuit at an apartment located near Paseo and Wyoming NE our posters have been flooding us with tips about Mr. Schultz's...um...activities. It seems certain things may be breaking out and may explain his bizarre comments supporting public employees sleeping around. Schultz claims its "...nature at play."

We think we've figured it out. But here is a story we posted earlier this year...perhaps there's more than awards going on here. Perhaps there's something more than what meets the Eye...

Perhaps one of our readers (NOT BERRY) can connect the dots...

Schultz Defends His Incompetence By Blaming Others

“Property crime is up, the Department of Justice is here, APD is below 1,000 officers, there are only seven cadets in the current academy class, 911 response times are up, APD has lost over $30,000,000 of taxpayer dollars and counting in (police misconduct) lawsuits (since 2002,) and (a police union) survey says the officers don’t have faith in Chief Schultz” –Retired APD Sergeant Dan Klein

“It does raise the question of who was minding the store. There is a great benefit to spending time with others in the law enforcement community and attending conferences, but what did we really get for it? Was Chief Schultz out padding his résumé? Or was he bringing tangible benefits back to the city and the department?”—Retired APD Lieutenant Steve Tate

“The promotion of incompetent supervisors is the rule rather than the exception and numerous supervisors have their current position as a result of lawsuits. Leaders who supported their troops were punished by being passed over on promotions while the meek that followed orders without questions were rewarded.” –Retired Officer Chad Wilder

50% of the officers believe Schultz should be fired, 99% think Schultz is doing a poor job and the reason why morale is down.—APOA Survey

“Well there’s never been a story done on me before. I find it a little suspect. I’ve been chief for 8 years but that’s no problem.” “We are under investigation because of the force encounters in 2010. That’s it.”—(current) APD Chief Ray Schultz. Schultz then dismissed Klein’s criticisms, saying he had no direct knowledge of what it takes to be a police chief [and] that Tate was a “mid-manager” who has been gone from APD for several years and said he wasn’t qualified to assess the work of a police chief.

In Monday’s paper, Chief Schultz was confronted with his extensive travel and vacation time over the last couple years. In addition to the data in the report, in at least 16 trips covering over 51 days of travel, Schultz went hobnobbing with others to conferences and conventions. In his interview with the Journal’s Jeff Proctor, Schultz got very animated in his discussion regarding officer body cams, vendor discussions, and technology. For those that have interacted with Schultz, we all know how he gets very excited in talking about how technology will solve this or that. Except that we know ideas are worthless when they are not implemented or are implemented by people that have no skills involving law enforcement (for instance self-anointed “smart police” commander TJ Wilham).

But what is truly stunning, is Schultz’s continued denial of accepting any external criticism. As the above quotes indicate honest concerns relevant to APD current state of affairs, Schultz is more interested in discrediting his very critics. Yet despite all of Schultz’s endless posturing about how he’s implemented 95% of these ideas, or unique approaches, DOJ is very much here investigation a department that is in crisis. About 12 officers have graduated from APD’s new training “university” and there are less than 10 in the current academy. The date for the next academy is unknown. But while new recruits trickle in, officers retire as soon as possible and outpace new hires. A whole class of officers have now been determined to have been targets of discrimination. Crime is up. Costs are up. Lawsuit costs are up. Now we have a fatal accident involving a sergeant over the weekend that already smell bad given BCSO’s PIO putting their thumb on the scale comments about why the sergeant may have been running code (really so a person was killed while he was ATL’ng for a drunk driver…really?). Now even one of Schultz’s protected sergeants is in trouble with a domestic violence related arrest in Sandoval County.

Funny how no other department in the state, or region, seems to have so many daily problems. But Schultz will be pointing the finger at somebody else. But there’s one thing Schultz can’t deny, he knows how to use his time to his own benefit. In 2012, there were 240 working days. However of all those days, Schultz was on “work” out of town for 31 days and took 29 days of vacation. So out of 240 days of work, he spent 180 days, or 75% here in Albuquerque. So 1 out of every 4 days, he was somewhere else….And we all know that while Schultz boasts about working around the clock, there is a rotation of duty chiefs. So even Schultz gets to be off and out much more frequently than he states. And it seems he has a favorite companion….and a future trip already planned……..a revisit from last year’s show it seems:

And lastly, Lieutenant (Ret.) Steve Tate responded to Schultz's comments with his usual accuracy:

I would like to point out that this "critic&quot; is concerned with the value of the trips and conferences during a time when APD is involved in turmoil. What do we have to show that improved based on these trips and conferences? They may have been a benefit to the city, but what was the return on that investment? This is a valid and deserved question since tax payer money was used . It is a true embarrassment to the entire police department and community that the DOJ is even in town looking into APD. Do the DOJ investigators happen to be qualified to assess the "work of a police chief" since they most likely were never police chiefs themselves. What a ridiculous response by Schultz to valid criticism. I find it very telling that Schultz's response is to claim that his critics are not qualified to assess his work because they never held the position or have been gone for a few years. This shows how disconnected Schultz is. Who knows what his definition is of "work of a police chief". What does that mean anyway? I would rather focus on his performance as a leader. If we do this, then everyone in the APD, city and entire community is more than qualified to assess his performance. Let's ask if the department is in better shape during his tenure and see what the facts show. Let's ask about department morale......and about community relationships. A real leader would be very concerned with morale since it will ultimately impact how the department is viewed by the community. If you treat your department employees the right way, then you can expect them to treat the community the same way. Is it a coincidence that department morale is at an all time crisis level low and at the same time the DOJ has seen fit to come to Albuquerque? Successful organizational leaders understand this relationship with employee and customer (community) satisfaction and put in place initiatives to ensure they can impact this relationship in a positive and effective way. I find it interesting that Schultz has never proactively created an anonymous employees satisfaction survey to gain insight into department morale. The police union did their own survey and when the overwhelming numbers showed they had no faith in Schultz, what was his response? He attacked the critics just like he did in this case. A real leader would have been very concerned and taken steps to work on that relationship internally. A real leader would not blame everything and everyone else as Schultz had done for his almost 8 year tenure as chief. However, Schultz isn't an effective leader and that is what APD needs now....a leader running APD............not someone just doing the "work of a police chief". Schultz should have stepped down years ago and when he didn't, Mayor Berry should have removed him. APD and the entire community has suffered because of Schultz's ineffective and plain lack of leadership. Don't take my word for it.....especially since I've been gone for 6 years.....ask anyone currently with APD or that has recently left and see what they tell you.....you will be shocked.

Nothing worse than a Bad Berry

Once again, we are finding out who RJ Berry's true supporters are. A few weeks ago Paul Kennedy had a fundraiser at his law firm. Now the Branch Law Firm is putting on a show for Berry. This one is Tuesday night at from 5:30-7:00pm off of Rio Grande N.W.

Funny, the cost per plate has been cut in half from $500/plate to $250/plate. Thanks to our many Eyes, perhaps we'll get to see what one gets for $250? Or maybe we'll see who comes out to this week's festivities like last time.

Does anybody need further proof this is a mayor that fails to lead? And that the people who most desire him to stay in place are those that make money from him?  You see, it is a co-dependency. They need Berry in office to give them free money and business they would not otherwise get and Berry needs their money to bankroll his campaign.
For a mayor whose city is in shambles, whose public safety departments are in crisis, who is the target of numerous federal investigations, he sure enjoys high end dinners. Especially at Scalo's.

Oddly enough, when it comes to personal one-on-one dialogue, RJ Berry and his handler Tito Madrid, can't run away fast enough. Perhaps that's why Berry was a track & field athlete, because he likes to run away. Like run away from real public dialogue. Like run away from addressing honest controversy. Like run away from responsibility.

Enjoy your meal Mr. Mayor. And for those that contribute to keeping RJ Berry as mayor, know that you are voting with your money to keep an administration in place that has blood on its hands.

Are Berry and Schultz Guilty of Crimes against Humanity?

Painfully, here we go again; another child in Albuquerque is fighting for their life after what appears to be drug addicted parents who left the child in a roasting car.  According to KOB 4 (READ IT HERE), the seven-month old baby was left in the car by the child’s parents.  We all know the weather has been hotter than hell here in Albuquerque.

According to KOB 4, the mother was going to a mandatory drug test and left the baby with the father.  The father stated he did not remember anything and that he has used “heroin” before.  Anyone wonder why the mother had to go for a “mandatory drug test?”

Two hours later the mother found the baby in the car.  The baby was blue and barely breathing.

Now let’s discuss the truth of the matter. Let’s start with the police statement to 4, “A tragedy like this is entirely preventable police say, but requires parents to check and re-check their car to make sure they have not left anything or anyone behind.”  We can see from reading this statement that not only are the offenders using drugs but the person from the “police department” must also be using illicit drugs.  The preventable part of this tragedy is the parents should not be using drugs.  People who do not use drugs do not need to go for mandatory drug tests.  The police spokesperson is trying to wash this situation down like it was a big mistake; make no mistake about it, they are druggies!

We here at the Eye On Albuquerque have said this before and we will keep saying it till these types of tragedies stop.  Mayor Berry and Chief Schultz are as guilty, if not more guilty, for the damage to this child.  This mayor and chief have done nothing to save these children.  Berry ordered Schultz to start a property crime unit and enlarge it.  Property crime is only a symptom of the massive drug problem that plagues our city. Is this what Berry means when he states, “Common Sense Leadership for Albuquerque?”  Allowing innocent children to get hurt and in some cases die is considered “Common Sense Leadership?”  Or is "Common Sense Leadership"  when you publically state your retiring but stay in hopes that by some slim chance Berry wins and you get to stay and finish the job of ruining a once great police department? You decide.

The only Mayoral Candidate that has offered a plan to stop this type of tragedy and actually help the drug addicted person in this town is Paul Heh.  Since announcing his candidacy, Heh has repeatedly spoken about the drug problems in this city and how it affects everyone from a child (like the one in this case) to overcrowding at the county jail.  Heh’s plan is to reform the system and overhaul it.
SIDEBAR
As far as the piece of gum on the bottom of Berry's shoe staying around; both Heh and Dinelli have publically stated Schultz and the rest of incompetent chain of command in APD will be gone day one and replace with competent personnel.
END SIDEBAR
Heh knows we cannot throw everyone in jail. Heh’s plan includes a rehab center where an addicted person is sent in lieu of jail.  That person will spend enough time there to recover.  When that person gets out they will have a GED, if they need one, and some type of trade or skill set.  This way when the person is released they do not return to a life of crime because they have nothing else to fall back on. This type of reform will stop property crimes, identity theft, abuse to children, overcrowding at the jail and much more.

Berry and Schultz are guilty of crimes against humanity by not being responsible or accountable and standing idle by not doing something to stop the atrocities that keep repeating themselves.  This may sound harsh but think about it; if what is written here is true wouldn’t that make them guilty? And be honest.

This baby is still in critical condition with severe brain trauma.  Please say a prayer for this baby's speedy recovery or offer a moment of thought out of respect for this innocent baby.

DOES AN INCOMPETENT “LEADER” ALWAYS TAKE THE PATH OF AVOIDANCE?

Now all three mayoral candidates have further separated themselves from each other.  Two of the candidates have vision and fortitude while Mr. Berry hides.  Paul Heh and Pete Dinelli offered positive change in the correct direction while Berry; well, let’s just say he stayed in the restroom till everyone left the building…

Here is some of the data given in a story (READ IT HERE) by Channel 4 News (Bravo to 4; it was an accurate and great report.)  APD is authorized 1,100 police officers.  APD currently has 958 officers.  This includes over 100 retirees who are re-hires.

A city the size of Albuquerque should have in the neighborhood of 1,400 police officers to adequately protect the city. As the 100 plus retirees who are re-hires start to age and attrition continues this valuable resource will slowly disappear.  The new PERA laws are very strict and prohibit police departments hiring back retirees.  Realistically this places APD and Albuquerque in a huge quandary.  This does not include the 50 to 100 officers who will become eligible for retirement this year.  At this point APD can shrink down to as low as 758 sworn officers.  This is more of a worst case scenario but nevertheless, it is a factual reality that should be discussed.

According to the story on Channel 4, Republican Don Harris who sits on the City Council is deep in Berry’s pocket looking for excuses to bail Berry out of the mess that Berry has created.  Harris wants the tax payers to shell out $20,000 to conduct a study.  This study would analyze such things as salaries, retirement, benefits and quality of life and compare them to other police departments in other cities.   The results would not be released till 2014.  Does this sound wonderful to you?

Don’t fall for Don ‘Ho’ Harris’s song and dance.  Yes, tiny bubbles in the wine will make you feel happy but when you sober up you will see it is all “smoke and mirrors.”  Albuquerque one day is going to wake up from Berry’s intoxicant of lies and we will all have to deal with the hang-over aliments he will leave us with.

The APOA sharply responded to Berry’s administration and Harris.  The APOA stated in part,   “…. However, this crisis at APD should be familiar to anyone in the current administration. The City and this Association had agreed on giving APD the most comprehensive and competitive pay package in the SW United States. This was done AFTER a study was conducted by UNM saying that based on crime rates, assaults, and other key factors; The APD needed to boost the salaries and benefits of the officers who worked in ABQ. The Berry administration has decimated the ranks of the APD and put Public Safety on the back burner all while the crime rates and the levels of violence increase here in ABQ. …”  Mister Harris; there was already a study.  As an attorney and a city councilor you should have researched it and you should have known about it before suggesting the waste of public money.  Harris should be embarrassed by this lousy ploy to take the pressure off of Berry for ruining the City and APD.
Kudos to the APOA for taking a stance for the department and the rank and file.
According to the story, “One reason Harris believes the police department has fallen short of its goal is morale.”  Harris also stated,  “Some of the problems we've had recently, some of the police officers feel that there's not the respect or admiration for police officers that there used to be and I don't know if that's just the City of Albuquerque."
Harris’s statements are true.  Mayoral candidate Paul Heh told Channel 4 during his interview that morale was low and to fix the vast majority of problems in APD, “You replace the top chain of command and I mean the whole top chain of command…” He also stated that APD needs a chief that is respected by the officers and a chief who respects the officers.
In addition Heh stated, as part of his plan to correct the problems in APD, “You drop the college requirement.  I’m also against giving sign-on bonuses to police officers.  Either you want to be a police officer or you don’t.”  Heh was adamantly opposed to spending another $20,000 on a study when we all know what the problems and issues are in APD.
Candidate Dinelli stated, “I would think that we need to reinstate the incentive program to pay officers with 20 more years of experience the $5,000 or $7,000 that they used to have in place.” Dinelli also stated, “I also believe they need to take a look at the admission requirements…I think that the requirement on the college education should be reconsidered.”  It appears Dinelli has a grip on how he would solve APD’s woes.
Now the conversation turns to our current mayor.  Channel 4 asked Berry for his input on his fellow Republican Harris’s proposal.  This is a serious issue confronting our city and knowing what our leader thinks is important to all the citizens in Albuquerque.  Berry’s response, “He was busy!” Our police department is in melt down and a local station asks for his input and guidance, Berry’s response, “He was busy!”  What could Berry be doing that he would be SO BUSY that he could not take five minutes to talk to Channel 4? Watering his grasslands in Four Hills? No, that’s not it, Berry has a grounds keeper. Is Berry attending another $500 per person fundraiser?  No, that’s not it Berry never showed up to that fundraiser either. We know the answer; he is an incompetent “leader” who always takes the path of avoidance.  Look at Berry’s pattern; he always avoids the public or public issues when he knows he is wrong.
Berry instructed Shultz to provide a response for him.  Let’s see, he spent 5 to10 minutes refusing to meet with Channel 4 because he was “busy.” From there Berry drops a dime on Jay McCleskey, Gov. Martinez’s pet snake.  This takes another 30 minutes. And then Berry spends another 30 minutes on the phone discussing with Schultz what he wants him to say.  That brings the total time lost on Berry avoiding Channel 4 to a grand total of one hour and ten minutes for an interview that would have taken five minutes. Berry should know, when you play with snakes it is only a matter of time before you get bit.
You can’t hide forever varmint! We got our Eye on you…

APOA's Weber Weaving Tangled Web for Officers

This coming Monday's Albuquerque City Council meeting could be kind of interesting. As the flyer shown displays, the APOA presidential candidate Greg Weber is trying to rally members to fight proposed changes to the Police Oversight Commission ordinances. Of specific focus are the citizens who have been criticizing Mayor Berry, that Perry fellow, and Ray Schultz.

Given that the city has scrapped and violated promised pay raises, benefits, increased expenses, removed 4-10s (remember those?), under staffed the department, is subject to endless litigation upon and by its own employees, is the target of the a federal investigation, and has endless senior personnel leaving out the back door (and some to a cabin in the woods) faster than you can say CAUGHT YA!...

...sure we guess we could see how this is a good time to rally the troops to argue against those loud mouth citizens who are doing what exactly? Oh yeah, exercising their free right to public dissent.

Funny how Mr. Weber has been silent on all the real issues except now that he is no longer a shoe in for APOA president he wants to become all public in his advocacy for the union. Here's an EYE friendly hint Mr. Weber, the folks who have been sand bagging city council actually support the rank and file. They have family members who are rank and file. The people who they stand up and denounce are the very people you are going to defend next Monday: Ray Schultz and the command leadership of APD.

You know, officers can put on the "T-shirts" provided by the APOA.  This makes it easier for those officers to be targeted...Didn't Hitler have the Jews put on certain type of "T-shirts" as they were set to the gas chambers?  The Jewish people were powerless against Hitler; we hope the officers of APD are smart enough to avoid Weber's "chamber."

Instead of worrying about the citizens, why don't you do what's best for the members and frequent contributors to this blog by arguing enough with the city's failures to honor its obligations and promises???

Shame on you Mr. Weber, agree or disagree with citizens who actually step up to speak against corruption and your position is to defame them?!?!?! Our Eyes will be busy letting us know how that works out for you. Perhaps your time is better spent representing your membership against the very parties who have all but destroyed a once great and proud department: Ray Schultz, RJ Berry, Rob Perry, Allen Banks, Steve Warfield, and the endless commanders and lieutenants who have no business wearing and stars or bars. Why would any APD officer show up to defend the same people who have victimized them like Ray Ray, and the rest of the cronies?

And oh by the way, we think it's great that your new public relations company Impronta is operating out of the very location of the APOA: 500 2nd Street NW. Are you sure your members are aware of this? And really, over $10,000 to send out a few emails?
