The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Shenanigans

We're starting to get some reports of voting shenanigans. It seems that voters who have already requested an absentee ballot are turning up at voting sites in large numbers and are asking to vote. So far there's no problem.

The law provides that voters who have requested an absentee ballot may vote as long as they sign an affidavit declaring that they had not previously voted absentee. Instead of receiving a regular ballot those voters are supposed to receive a provisional ballot. It's then up to the clerk to verify whether or not those voters had already voted absentee. If their absentee vote had been received, the provisional ballot would be discarded.

The problem is that early voting sites are allowing these "absentee" voters to cast their vote on a regular ballot, thereby making it impossible to remove an illegally cast vote. Our Eyes tell us that the Presiding Judges had been instructed by the County Clerk to handle these voters using regular ballots and that even though they agreed that the state statute directed otherwise, they had no choice but to continue until they received instructions from the clerk's office.

We don't know whether this is some coordinated effort to poison the voter well, but Presiding Judges shouldn't need the clerk's approval to follow the law. We'd remind anyone thinking of stealing someone else's vote by voting more than once that it's a felony to vote multiple times.

I'm shocked!!!
Potential voter fraud in New Mexico??????
The Land of Grandma-what's-her-name...the former Bernco Clerk who miraculously found boxes of uncounted ballots in a closet.
The Land of the current Bernco crew that took 10+ days to count the votes from the Dem primary this year.
The Land of Emilio Naranjo (need I say more).

My wife and I sent in for our absentee ballots. My envelope arrived and contained my ballot, my wife's envelope arrived and when she opened it there was no ballot. she contacted the clerks office and that said that it could not have happened but that she could come in and vote. My wife went in and without showing ID or proof of address or residency she was given a regular ballot and voted. I find this to be highly suspect and question what ever happened to her original ballot that she was supposed to have recieved in the mail. How many other mailed out ballots are missing and who has them??? And why in the world would anyone be allowed to come in and vote without presenting ID or proof of residency??!! Something just does not pass the smell test, it really stinks to high heaven of possible fraud and/or deception of some type........

Lol .... Don’t be so gullible.... When there is corruption in Government, everyone is on the take…. It wasn’t always like this! Trust no one! That is the safest way to live.

It's not what you think. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Early voting places are connected to the County Clerk's voter database. Before issuing a ballot there, they check whether an absentee ballot has been received for that voter, or if they have already early voted. If so, they don't get another ballot. If not, they are issued a regular ballot and the voter's database record is marked accordingly. If an absentee or provisional ballot comes in later for that voter, it is checked against the database. If they have already voted, the new ballot isn't counted. So no voter fraud from this.

I personally requested an absentee ballot and filled it out but, before mailing it in, decided to change my vote for DA (to Torraco). Rather than requesting another ballot I said screw it and went to an early voting location. They immediately flagged me and had me sign a notarized affidavit (one of the poll workers was a notary public) that I had not used the absentee ballot. I offered to bring the absentee ballot in so it could be destroyed but they said that under state law no absentee ballot can even enter into the polling location. Instead I shredded it at home.

The level of paranoia about voter fraud emanating from the right wingers these days is pretty mind boggling. Is this just the pre-election blame game for the landslide that's upcoming? It isn't the tiny number of fraudulent voters that are going to drive the Democratic landslide, its the awful and embarrassing performance of the GOP in over the last eight years. It would be one thing if your guys were polling ahead of their opponents but then lost - that would be a symptom of election fraud (and is what happened to Kerry in 2004). Having your guys way down in the polls and lose by large percentages just means that your guys suck. Maybe instead of blaming the electorate you guys should return to what the GOP used to be about - minimal government, rather than what its about now - gigantic government, deficit spending, invading other countries for no reason, and jailing people for being gay or insufficiently christian. Go read Goldwater, that's what the GOP is supposed to be about.

Yeah, we are so shocked!! Although this is politics as usual in NM, I work for the city, and yesterday I had a conversation with a customer who told me that he voted BOTH by mail-in ballot and then he went to an early voting location and voted again! (BTW he is an Obama supporter) and when I told him I thought voting 2X is a felony, he said he would just pull the old Steve Martin routine about "Oh, I forgot"!! He also explained how he did some kind of thing where he messed with his voter registration by changing his party and changing it back again in order to block Steve Pearce from being chosen as the candidate in the primary. It was convoluted so I don't recall the details, but my point is, this the crap we are dealing with!!! Idiots that F up the entire system because they don't have jobs, and have nothing beter to do than to figure out how to keep Republicans from being elected.

Wow 10:38 your story doesn't sound like complete and utter bullshit at all! Its totally logical for a Democrat to try to block Steve Pearce when it was obvious to everyone that Heather Wilson had a much better chance of beating Udall than Pearce did!

By not reporting the "customer" you just made up who confessed a felony to you you've just become an accessory to that felony! Nice work!

In the future I suggest you make your make-believe stories more believable.

Additionally, Republicans have done a really great job of preventing themselves from being elected. No need for your pretend bogey man fraudulent voter to do it for them.

hahahahaha.......you must be the customer, dude! Just turn youself in and give them the old Steve Martin routine, I'm sure they'll buy it.
