The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Not on Our Roads

The New Mexico Transportation Commission has done with one vote what thousands of New Mexican's have failed to do... shutter the scam-eras. A Thursday morning ruling by the commission gives cities in New Mexico including Albuquerque - the birthplace of the scam - 60 days to pull the scam-eras and the scam-era van off of state highways.
The commission said there's no convincing proof such cameras make streets and highways safer.

"While the true safety impact of the use of these cameras is still murky at best, one thing has become clear to the commission — more and more New Mexico cities seem to be putting driver-generated revenues ahead of sound traffic management techniques," Commission Chairman Johnny Cope said in a statement. "Frankly, that concept really troubles me."
Troubling indeed. Revenue and results - scam-eras have been rich in the former and devoid of the latter. Three years ago, County Commissioner Michael Brasher asked the state's Superintendent of Insurance whether or not the city's scam-eras were reducing accidents and if so, shouldn't car insurance rates be dropped? (read it here)

Take a few moments to look at your insurance rates. We'd bet that you've never seen a reduction in your rates since the scam-era installation.

Understand that the ruling only affects two of Albuquerque's scam-era intersections - scam-eras on Paseo Del Norte and on Coors. In Santa Fe, the ruling directly affects the most profitable roads.
[T]he [City of Santa Fe] was awaiting permits from the Department of Transportation before putting up cameras along Cerrillos, St. Francis and St. Michael's roads, where the largest number and most severe crashes occur in Santa Fe.
Unfortunately, the ruling will not affect the other 18 intersections afflicted by the scam. Hopefully, the UNM "study" group will discover what is patently obvious to us. Scam-eras don't improve safety, they don't save lives, and they aren't Constitutional. Don't hold your breath.

Eye, this actuall effects all the scam cameras on Paseo del Norte and Coors. That means the cameras at Coors and Central, Coors and Quail, Coors and Montano, Coors and Paseo and Coors and Ellison will be going bye bye.

There is only one scam camera on Paseo and that is at Jefferson.

The back door tax is finally going away.

Long live our Constitution!

Darren brought Peaches to San Jose for the Lobo game. Really disappointed because I was expecting a lot more. Peaches ain't much to look at.

Darren, you left wife #2 for this? Thank god we didn't send you to Congress!

The UNM study (what a joke) is bought and paid for.

Please people; don't ever accuse Marty of being a scuzball again. Between Berry's phony cheerleader antics and spending more time at the Lobo Club than City hall and Campbell's socialist buddies at UNM, we the taxpayers got screwed again paying out some huge fee to have their commie buddies do a study on this BS.
This is Perlman-esque

Today's article in the newspaper has Berry saying can't comment but instead will refer to his team.
Dah, what team? according to above comment, his team, Pub. Safety Czar is out in San Jose as well. Guess we don't really have any deficit crises at the city. Then again, Campbell's in charge as the other two are just in the way.

What's Darren doing at a basketball game anyway? It's not like he's a fan or even a supporter. Keeping Goober company I guess. Barney Fife (Campbell) is the man of the house now that Goober & Gomer are out of town.

The State and City are in the shitter financially, unsolved murders on the west side, talking furloughs, major union negotiation problems or the lack there of and we've got Gov.Richardson, Mayor Berry & Public Safety Commandant White livin' 'Big' out in California. Life's good !!

Gov. Richardson,Mayor Berry, Commandant White and don't forget Peaches.

Those cameras are about making money. They have nothing to do woth safety.

Ummmm, is it really appropriate for city leaders to be out of town at college sports games while still being paid their salary? Is this another example of do as I say and NOT as I do?

John Martinez, you better hold on you old fart cause it's gonna hurt!

TRUE THAT! 3/20 @ 1:51 PM. They all need to go and take the poor excuse for a mayor with them. Mayor Berry is the repulican equivalent of Obama, he made a bunch of campaign promises and in reality things are just the same as it ever was. The names have changed, but that's about all! Union busting!!!!

Wow! Eleven comments (so far) and only a couple regarding the subject (Scam-eras). Considering that the various politicos have vacation time and weekends too, whether i like their policies or not (and I don't for most of 'em) they are entitled to go support the home-town heros (and i hope at their own expense) mjust like the 1500+ contingent of other Lobo fans did.

I couldn't care less who Darren's dating, but a Scam-era blog may not be the best place to pontificate on it, Especially since he wasn't part of the Mob of Morons that put them in place. That would be The Mini-mayor Marty and Sgt "I know nothingggg" Schultz. That Mayor Berry hasn't taken them down is an oversight that will lose him his next election.

On the actual Scam-era front... the one on S-bound Wyoming at Academy seems to have been removed (Yea!!!). It's been up throughout all of the construction and that is nearly complete so I think maybe it is a "permanent" removal.

Did Darren bring TJ AS WELL as Peaches? Ah, someone needs to carry Peaches' bags.
Well the gang will be landing tonight; gotta get back to work tomorrow. Get a lot done while the boys and Peaches were away David?

Campbell will be there with the fan club welcoming back the cheerleaders.

Well now that everyone's back; LOVE IS IN THE AIR.

The "Eyes" skulking the halls will unvail some interesting revelations.
Stay tuned.

Hmmm... 'Love is in the air' ??
Does someone have their 'eye' on some candy?
Or is the candy chasing down some "good & plenty?

Must be someone 'special' floating in and out on of the 11th floor.
Gee, I wonder who that could be?

'Honey I'm home' can't be Peaches. She was with Darren & the mayor.

Wasn't Peaches, Eli Mae's grand mother's sister in Arkansas?

This all cracks me up.
Peaches... Sounds like the Beverly Hillbillies.
Who's Jed; RJ Berry?
Mr. Drysdale must be Campbell and Jethro must be Darren.
That leaves Eli Mae. Beth?
Granny? not going there..
