The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Why does One Bird try to push another Bird out of the Nest?

In a Journal report by Jeff Proctor, who appears to be the main source that APD uses, wrote this story, “Officer Got Personal Texts After Shooting,” big deal, right? The Eye dug further into this story because our staff was perplexed why this story ran when there was nothing to it. The bottom line appears to be tied to TJ Wilham, Darren White’s personal selection for a PIO.

The story centers around an APD Detective, Trey Economidy, who fatally shot a guy who pulled a gun on him. Proctor became concerned when he learned that Chris Ramirez the PIO for the Mayor’s Office shared text messages with Detective Economidy, after the police involved shooting. As it turns out, Ramirez and Economidy have been friends for some time and the text messages were simply of concern for a friend.

The Eye asked these questions. Who was the rat who went running Proctor? Why did this rat go running to Proctor?

This is what our Eyes are telling us. At some point in time Ramirez confronted TJ Wilham based on information that Ramirez received that it was Wilham who approached Proctor. The Journal reporter, Proctor called Chief Schultz, who in turn sent out the full crew to Detective Economidy’s home. It was determined that the text messages were harmless and only a communication between friends. This was a waste of time, energy, ink and paper. I wonder what it cost to get all of APD out to chase down this “red herring.” Here are a few more questions. Did APD get a warrant? What judge would sign the warrant for this heinous deed of receiving a personal text message?

This incident has now prompted Santa Schultz to lay down the threat that he is going to look at changing the policy concerning officers’ private cell phones. Schultz admitted that the officer did nothing wrong and violated nothing. If this is all true, conversations with the buddy officer or his attorney is protected; it’s none of your business Chief Schultz. The Eye wonders if the City enjoys paying out on ridicules policies that cost the City millions?

The Mayor’s Office is becoming “a dog eats dog” environment; survival of the fittest. It appears that TJ Wilham played Proctor who in turned played Schultz. The Mayor better be careful where he sits. Here is a hint Mayor Berry; don’t sit next to TJ Wilham.

guess what? trey isn't the only one who thinks he is a human waste disposer. many many cops do. i just heard trey's comments being defended. i was shocked! i thought cops were to help. remember when they used to go into schools and talk to the kids? wow. we as children would have been shocked to hear that officer make those comments. respect is earned. who respects apd these days? i thought so. there is a big big problem. bigger than anyone realizes. remember when LAPD was under fire for how they acted? they were hated. yeah, you guys do a tough job. so do doctors and firemen and alot of other good people. jeez! we've got guys in other countries fighting without a true cause. what in the heck is going on? i beg apd to get your officers some help. you can inspect their guns and uniforms and all that stuff as much as you want. if you don't start inspecting the mindset of these cops and detectives there are going to bigger problems than trey. they are defending his comments. i am very very scared. really. things are going to hell in a handbasket and apd is inspecting uniforms and crap!! what the???? ok, well, i like the picture "head in the sand" because that is exactly what's going on. wow. sad. sad. sad. sad. thanks apd. i don't feel any confidence in your ability to protect our city. your officers are losing their way more everyday. yikes.

This was just another attempt to divert our "EYE'S" away from all the other crap going on. Too bad, it didn't work. Try a little harder, TJ...they're not paying you this much for sorry little stories like this. You seriously need to improve your game.

T.J. was always a back stabber and always will be. T.J. fits right in with his boss Darren White,a huge back stabber. You know what I mean EYE. Birds of a feather stick together. As for Jeff Proctor, what a joke he is.

I guess only Trey can tell us if anyone went to his house. If Trey has an attorney the City should not be having any contact with Trey.

I saw in the Journal over the weekend that Schultz and company paid out $882,000 in a lawsuit over the illegal confiscation of property. My gosh how much money has Schultz cost us in the time he has been here? $1,000,000 to Costales, $232,000 Tera Chavez, $882,000 money confiscation, the grandmother who was ran over by the probationary officer, the pregnant woman who was killed because the radio room coded the call a 3, not to mention the many many other personnel action lawsuits.

The Eye should compile a list going to to Schultz's time as DCOP and let's see how many millions this guy has cost the citizens of Albuquerque. Did Berry ever really work in the private sector? If so, he would have fired a guy like Schultz, who costs his company(the city) so much money.

Please Eye, compile a list of total lawsuits and money paid out while Schultz has been chief and deputy chief. It would be Eye opening.

Jeff Proctologist needs to get a life! When we he start reporting some real news?

I don't think the public will be hearing much from Trey or any other 34. Ray and company have them all by the short hairs and they are running scared. Respect is waning gentlemen.

How many PIOs does the city need? What a waste of tax dollars.

What I want to know is this; Where is the union in all of this?? Why isn't the union taking a stance and standing up for their officers?

To the very first comment above - there are many fine officers who work for this department. A comment made on fb does not have a damn thing to do with Officer Economidy's job performance. He did what he had to do to keep himself alive, and those people around him. That being said, there are a percentage of officers who aren't good, just like in ANY profession. Comparing a cop to a Dr. is like comparing apples to oranges. Please do not make comments clumping everyone into your nice perfect little box. It doesn't work that way.

Bottom line is, the 5th floor has gone too far and stuff needs to start to change. How about we pull schultz personal cell and see what the hell he has on it...and Whites too. Oh wait, I forgot; they are above the law..or so they think.

Eye thanks for reading the posts and not putting everything up!saving some butts..sometimes we get so mixed up in all the emotions. I think we all have experienced some type of unfair, or bad treament in our career. For the boss to say that it is only a few disgruntled trouble makers is false we are all affected by the corruption and good ole'boy system.you dont need to post this.

you said "Comparing a cop to a Dr. is like comparing apples to oranges. Please do not make comments clumping everyone into your nice perfect little box. It doesn't work that way."
i say: there is no perfect little box. there is a mindset and madness in apd. i KNOW what i'm talking about. i have lived it first hand. i hold myself to a higher standard. you have no idea about trey's job performance, i do. i lived amongst it! so, having said that, let me tell you once again, the mental state of many officers and detectives is sad and shameful. those leading the way are leading them off course. thank goodness the "dream team" no longer exists. it was a damn nightmare. there are those of you who know what i am talking about and the air of being above the law, and drunk driving and being unfaithful was not only encouraged, it was pushed and pushed and forced by the leader of such dream team. now these dreamers and scattered, lost and causing havoc. thank you trollman.

Problems with APD stem from a lack of leadership over the last decade or more. Gil Gallegos and his frat boy DCOP's that were chasing every skirt they could. That is the kind of leadership APD has had. It was here when Ray was a DCOP and he allowed it to continue when he came back as chief. It is this lapse of ethics, morals and leadership at the command level that is now at every level of APD. Just look at the number of females, who are associated with APD, that have died over the last few years. I can think of several who have committed suicide due to affairs with APD personnel. This is the culture of adultery that has ruined APD and many lives of its officers. Gallegos started it up, Schultz has kept it going. It is a cancer upon our department. I wish Tera Chavez's family would not have settled so they could have exposed it all in court. Unfortunalty it will just continue, until we bring in a chief from outside the department who instills pride and ethics again. APD is a better place than what it has become.

From my own experience as an outsider and from what I've heard from insiders, the same was/is going on at the BCSO. I don't know if DW started it but he sure didn't discourage it. I know he covered it up, so at least in that way he encouraged it.
The Chavez incident isn't over yet, there is still hope that dirty underbelly of APD will come to light.
As it stands right now, I have little respect for any BCSO or APD officer. As long as they stand by and say nothing they are just as guilty as those engaging in this sick culture. They are neither heros or brave, no matter what else they might do on the job.

Well I see Jeff PROCTOR IS AT IT AGAIN. PROCTOR KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT OFFICER ECONOMIDY SHOOTING BECAUSE HE WAS THERE (NOT). PROCTOR HAD TO MAKE A LIFE AND DEATH DECISION IN A FRACTION OF A SECOND (NOT). PROCTOR WILL NOT WRITE A WORD ABOUT THE CORRUPTION AT THE TOP AT APD. ANYONE WHO HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS CLOWN NEEDS A GOOD DOSE OF COMMON SENSE. JEFF HERE IS A SUGGESTION FOR YOU. TAKE YOUR POSIN PEN AND INSERT IT .

@ post 10:07...if that's what you know, then I'm sorry you have had to live through that. My experiences are much different than yours. My point was this; there might be some bad apples, but they are not all that way. So to say that you have no trust in the police at all, isn't a fair statement to the men and women who do their job with integrity. Whatever Officer Economidy said about anything, does it change the fact of the circumstances behind the shooting? Also, as to the above post, what are you doing about the sick culture in APD and BCSO? People can only do so much before their jobs are at risk; this is something that I know and that I have experienced. If you have information that you think needs to be let out, then let it out! It's EVERYONES responsibility to hold their government to a higher standard, including the police.

Sgt. Heh is so right - keep confidence, APD, in who you are and what you do. I was in a very dangerous situation a few years ago and I witnessed firsthand how many officers put their lives on the line to protect me -- just doing the job you get up every morning to do -- so from my POV every honest cop is a Hero.

It is a strategy of White and Schultz and the PIOs to make the rank and file look like the problem, but you all know their corrupt influence and abusive authority is large part of what is poisoning APD. Change is going to come because the core of APD has decent, admirable values. There is momentum now for the truth to come out. Keep telling it and keep being it.

Another calculated attack on the FRONT page of the journal about police and fire. This makes me sick...misleading headlines with no substance. Berry's well oiled spin machine at it again, running wild and unchecked.

Today's Albuquerque Journal says the guy Trey Economidy shot, was shot in the back. HUH? Seems his post on Facebook has some credibility: human waste disposal.

Something smells bad about this whole situation. A bad shoot??? I'm sure the lawyers are circling.

You are warning HEATHER WILSON??? REALLY?? SERIOUSLY??? She's a female clone of White. They never did really find out why the HSD investigation on her husband was pushed under the rug did they? When her office was warned about a possible terrorist in the immediate area they did NOTHING. Don't tell me because there WAS nothing. I was in on the investigation and I KNOW there was something......I was told to hand it over.

Hey, the EYE poll voting on whether berry should have kept his campaign promise and get rid of The Public Safety Director position. So far we have 90%- 333 votes for YES; 7% 29 votes say NO. Is it not obvious to you yet Mr. Berry?
Question is; who besides $135K Darren, 80K TJ and 59k secretary and maybe a few more Darren fans voted NO? Must have logged on to different computers to vote more than once,'cause it's for damn sure he doesn't have 29 friends.
More like 5 if that.

Darren has to keep Erin K. Thompson happy, she knows all his secrets! Can you imagine her tell all book? If the feds are looking for the weak link, it would be her. I'm sure she has dates, times and locations. Offer her immunity and she will open the door to a whole new level of criminal activity.

Maybe the EYE should do another pole. Should the Trey Economidy shooting by investigated by an outside agency?

Anonymous said...

Dont jump to conclusions on the Econimidy shooting, shootings are tense and rapidly evolving and body positions change in the blink of an eye. Two of many very real possiblities- suspect picks up gun and points it at officer, at that point he has demonstated the propesity for extreme violence but unknown to any of us did he attempt to pull the trigger realizing he misfired or no bullet in chamber, at that point suspects has placed himself in the violent fleeing felon situation-you as the officer are now in a precarious position to allow him to escape run around the corner clear his weapon and ambush or engage other officers or a civilian who may not have the time or training to defend themselves! Now recognizing this potential you are well within the law and Department SOP to stop this suspect with any means possible up too and including deadly force! Second: suspect picks up gun points it at officer and still unknown did he attempt to fire this weapon only to realize he had a misfire and/or empty chamber. Now seeing the officer raising his weapon suspect immediatly turns to run-Keep in mind once and officer conciously makes that determination that he or she has to use deadly force the proper sequence though rapid is to focus on the front sight which means the rear sight and target will be blurry and sometimes with the task saturation taking place most officers cant recall body position only shirt or target color because is should be blurry. Bottom line the determination for an officer to use deadly force is a difficult one and solely rests on the shoulders of the suspect who dictates where the officer enters the force continum by his actions. Unfortunately shooting a suspect in the back does not always mean its unjustified.I have videos and I am aware of numerous other cases including witnessed it myself first hand. Not saying this is how it happened but just asking you to open you minds because nobody likes to be second guessed when and officer decision making often lies in milliseconds between life and death!
