The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. The Gap Widens

Last night was called a historic night at Albuquerque's city council meeting because of the huge number of people that bothered to show up and speak their mind regarding the crisis that the city and APD are in.

We at the Eye think it's historic for other reasons. We think, in many ways, it is a new low.

While we appreciate and support citizens expressing themselves, what we saw mostly last night was success by the administration of Berry and Perry. You see, they have changed the dialogue from this matter being about THEIR failures, to one about individual police officers and the previous mayor.

And like true children it seems many are being distracted by bright shiny objects of police shootings, rather than the painful truth that those in power are the real source of tragedy facing this city. From employment, to economy, to education, to crime, to costs, everything is going in the opposite direction this city needs it to be. But nevermind that Berry's handlers say, we'll just preoccupy them with attention of APD's individual problems rather than the institutional issues caused by Berry, Perry, White, and Schultz's neglect.

We found one speaker last night, truly extraordinary. One who really exemplifies the disaster known as the Berry Administration of the Albuquerque. His name is Scott Lopez and here's his picture:

As an APD officer, Mr. Lopez would do whatever he could to avoid taking any dangerous calls, but he always would show up after the dust settled. You see that was his MO. He'd be there after the fact and try to take credit for doing things he didn't do. Our Eyes tell us there's no foot chase he couldn't run away from fast enough and officers would never leave a car to be towed with him for fear he'd steal property out of it (like plasma screen televisions).

As a sergeant, he was known to keep out of any controversial events, would call off officers when anything remotely interesting happened and couldn't discipline people fast enough. If you run his NCIC history you'd see that Mr. Lopez was very busy running the plates of cars driven by attractive women and was generally one of the last sergeants for officers to bid for. As a lieutenant, he claims to have been the incident commander of the Emcore scene. Perhaps we should get the audio of that incident and listen to how Mr. Lopez handled that scene and what he did to the true police officers that day that did what they had to do while Lopez screamed on the air to keep them away.  Then when Schultz gave Slopez, oops, Lopez a position overseeing property crimes, all but APOA vice president Shawn Willoughby, we are told, left the burglary unit because all Lopez was interested in was playing with bait vehicle operations. More shiny bright toys.

Well last night, Mr. Lopez talked down to all the citizens and city counselors who dare criticize APD. He said if you point a gun at a cop you shouldn't be surprised at what happens. While trying to use the opportunity to boost his standing, and let's be real that's all Lopez has been know to do is take advantage of opportunities, Lopez boils things down to one simple fact about those running APD. They LIE. Lopez would have you believe that all of the 37 shootings involve people pointing guns at cops, when they don't. Lopez would have you believe cops are beyond criticism when they are not.

In Lopez's world, as a cop you get to do what you want without any accountability. But you see in that world you get what we've seen for years in APD: No Accountability. With no accountability comes distrust between the department and its officers, the department and its citizens, and the department and other gov't entities. In the is the mindset exemplified by Lopez last night that has got us to where we are right now.

Stay focused people, despite what RJ Berry likes to blab about, the issues of APD and his administration are not caused by single incidents (like the Boyd shooting), they are caused by his neglect and failure to address incidents like that which have happened over and over and over.

It's kinds like when the mayor says he can't attend a historic city council meeting like last night because he's meeting with other community groups. Except he wasn't. Just like he wasn't in Brazil, he wasn't with community groups either last night.....

Birds of a feather! Because there was Lopez last night with his snickering, immature, selfish best friend Sean willowby at the meeting. Willowby was trying so hard to hide his face, praying he didn't have to stand up and be a leader. He even sat away from us so no one would see he was APD. What a phony, both of you.

Berry is no leader!

He didn’t even have enough respect for the citizens to attend the meeting last night. He always hides when a leader should lead. He lied to us again, saying he spent the day talking to concerned citizens, which is why he couldn’t attend. Mayor, did you forget that you did the ribbon-cutting ceremony that was reported on the 5:00 news? There you go again. Thinking the citizens are stupid and that we won’t find out that you are still doing your old-style PR campaign, doing TV time, rather than LEADING this city.

He never accounted for the 8 missing days that WE PAID FOR. If he can’t account for something as simple as 8 days, how can he account for the budget or leading this city?

He blames everyone else for why this city is in crisis and manipulates the media with their propaganda as evidenced by the who-even-reads-it-anymore Journal.

Regardless of what the DOJ report says, RECALL BERRY!

Berry has just hired retired Capt Bob Huntsman as a deputy chief to do Eden's job, because Eden does not know what he's doing as APD Chief! Huntsman is a nice guy, but spent all his time in SWAT. he know nothing about IA or Admin. Plus he's great friends with Eden.

When will these people learn!!!

Eden needs to resign

Lopez is probably the guy who has been posting on this site as Abu, Matt and sometimes anonymous and who made the threat about a cop could mistakenly kill that person who posted that challenged him for a better solution. His MO is very negative and hateful comments filled with propaganda.

And heads up people. Don't be surprised if it's a counter attack by Berry about the vandalism being the protesters. I'm sure there were cameras on those vandalized areas during that time. If they don't have camera footage on the vandalized areas and can't find the vandals, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a setup by the rogue cops and this administration to take the heat off of them and get a pity party going.

It's a common war tactic, to cause confusion and make it look like the enemy is doing evil things. This is exactly what happened in Siria regarding the gassing of citizens. So unless they have some evidence as to who did the vandalizing, don't let them manipulate you into assuming it's the protesters. The Anonymous protester instruction video that came out yesterday is very clear on what NOT to do. Vandalizing is clearly against their objective.

Deputy chiefs are appointed? So is this how an equitable selectiton process is bypassed in APD? The last I heard the budget hasn't been approved, or am I missing something here? A week ago, the mayor asked for a new deputy and money to implement changes. Now the deputy is hired. More of the good ole boy system? I would have preferred that they consider the qualified applicants for the chief position (somebody from outside ALB) for the deputy position, not more of the same-political hacks, whether nice or not..

Huntsman will be good for APD, the DOJ will not take over APD but a monitor is already invited in. So now what? Only time will tell, $110K, not bad for a bump up in retirement, Hunstman can do three years with on hand tied behind his back. LOL!

Anonymous said...

Please correct me if I am wrong. When Bob Huntsman left, he had a great reputation, was well respected and had the qualities of making a good chief. He started a consulting business and was doing a lot of traveling and making a good living. Why for heavens sake would he ever want to work for Gordon Eden and Rob Perry? His friendship with Eden will not last. Unless they are setting Huntsman up to take over when Eden sees the writing on the wall and leaves.

This site is a joke. As long as cops keep bashing cops nothing will change. At least Lopez had the nerve to speak in public and defend the APD. What he said was the truth. Where is the accountability for the criminals who choose to break the law. The bottom line is if the criminals involved in the Officer involved shootings would have just complied with commands, the outcomes would have been different. I.E. the officer would not have been forced to use deadly force.

So as I sat on my lazy bot at home watching the council meeting(I was invited by an anonymous poster saying it would be more exciting live & to bring popcorn) I declined because sitting next to the homeless & drunkards who attend council meeting doesn't appeal to me.

One thing I did notice is the ONLY officers or former Officers that did show up and speak in support of the police were Stephanie Lopez(President politically had to be there) and Scott Lopez, no relation.

Why is the Eye bashing one of two Officers who did actually show up? Regardless of his past of hiding inside and taking credit for others incidents he did show up and spoke his peace in front of hundreds who hated what he stood for. That takes balls which it seems current Officers don't possess. When was the last camp out in civic plaza? Those were the days. Now officers consist of spineless jellyfish who are scared of their shadows and only speak out if they don't get a lunch break.

I think your wrong on this one Eye, at least he showed up and spoke his peace. He even memorialized Officers who died in the line of duty and mentioned Officers injured at work. I saw none of the authors or contributors to the Eye there.

Will you post this? We shall see.

Why wasn't Paul Heh at last nights meeting? I thought he supports police? Seems like there were no police supporters except an Iraq veteran, a south Broadway gym owner, oh and a retired lieutenant.

Anonymous said...

Lopez had the guts to stand up and support, publicly, the APD??!! What a joke, he was a shit cop and he did fit in perfectly with the other shit cops that Schultz and Berry seemed to love. Albuquerque deserves what it's getting. All that lives here are a bunch of west coast "wanna-be's" who don't have the talent or skills to live out there. "If you point a gun at a cop, you get what you deserve." Where was Boyd's gun? Oh yeah, it was a pocket knife with a three inch blade! APD kills innocents and the DOJ is not going to do anything to stop them! RECALL BERRY!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

"Where is the accountability for the criminals who choose to break the law.[sic]"

Exactly. For instance, Tank Guenther, Tim Chavez, Andrew Gallegos, Levi Chavez, Ray Schultz, et al. Where is the accountability for these criminal shitbags?

I too am annoyed by how criminals aren't held accountable for their crimes in this town.

Like Scott Lopez so eloquently stated, if you point a weapon at a cop, don't be surprised if you end up dead. Also, if you have a cross, a spoon, a cellphone, a bottle of cologne, are asleep in the passenger seat of a car, or are in a foster home, then buddy, you fucked up. The not-at-all lazy and most-certainly-not-huge-pussies of APD will come to enact swift justice.

But hey, cops bashing other cops is definitely the problem. Once we stop that, Albuquerque will become the Epcot Center of the SW.

Anonymous said...

Scott Lopez was an opportunistic parasite. Always was, and still is. If he was so great why did he pull the rip chord and RETIRE? Really, you sure no authors or contributors were there? Maybe if you took Edens ball sack off your nose bridge you would've.

7:29,
Oh... So you already know what the DOJ is going to do. You must be one important person. Wow.... Considering nobody has a clue what is going to happen until Thursday. And who gives a rats ass that The liar Berry invited a monitor in. That means jack shit. The Feds are calling the shots here. Get that through your thick skull. Berry's bullshit attempt at a preemptive cooperative effort was closing the barn door after the horses ran out, grew old and died of old age in the pasture.

What a sweet deal berry and Perry made for him at the taxpayer expense!

At least Hunstman accepted the job to be part of the solution. More than most of the posters who hide behind blogs to complain but don't step up to the challenges. Who cares who his friends are in this Administration, he is qualified, respected and well liked. It won't be long before the EYE attempts to trash his reputation like they have to so many others who have stepped up to try to fix things. And yeah, where was Paul Heh, ultimate Eye supporter? When the going gets tough, some run away but I see a few ran to the problem, Huntsman being one of them.

I was at a BBQ a few years ago with a friend during the summer here in ABQ. There were some cops there and one joked, 'WE'RE COPS; WE DO WHAT THE F*CK WE WANT..HAHA.' The alpha male/macho attitudes are scary, but the catty women they are with love them for it and mistake it for confidence.

Just a reminder-we have to come together on these issues. We know the corruption, the system is broken. For those that don't understand why honorable officers are angry, then try to put yourself in their positions, being disgusted, unable to change the leadership and frustration. For those who agree, but are fighting about the same issues and disagree on who is to blame-come together, and push for change, change wherever it is needed, because it is needed. The big picture is the leadership and the 'dishonorable' officers are to blame. In any organization, those in command, whether the director, owner, etc. they are ultimately responsible. Then those employees under any administration, should be found accountable. https://www.facebook.com/veganpublishers/photos/a.318155571643595.1073741828.303698906422595/450041615121656/?type=1&theater

Oh please. Eden buried himself in the second he was sworn in. How many stupid statements does he have to make or do. Let's see, shooting Boyd was justified and we'll keep Sandy and Perez. Gil Vigil gets fired however. Plz. I think we all know what Bob is able to do. But will he is the question. As I recall he really made life a ton of fun for folks in tactical.....

Anonymous said...

I say we give Huntsman a change. Even Eden, he said he jumped the gun on the Boyd shooting and he was doing what we all want and that is to back us up. We complain either way. I will take 10 years to fix the 8 years that Schultz fuc&ed up. It's not going to be an easy fix. I think all 34s who have credibility issues need to be put in a position where they do not testify.

Anonymous said...

Lopez, you are correct in that we should be focusing our attention on the criminals on the streets. Unfortunately we have to focus on our police department because the criminals with the legal right to shoot and kill are abusing their power with lies and deception, even with the cameras on. If the DOJ doesn’t demand that the cameras need to be on at all times, it’s another disgrace.

I will 1,000% support the police department on focusing on the criminals on the street once we get the criminals in the police department and culture there corrected.

Police Shooting Are A Bit Overkill - Part III

Eye on Albuquerque, thank you for including the photos in your post. I especially like the twitter post by Emily Howard Griebel. I veiwed her Linkedin page where she lists herself as Marketing Strategy Consultant, http://www.linkedin.com/in/ehgriebel. I'm only speaking for myself, but my thought is that the mayor is looking to somehow develop a marketing strategy to rollout after the fallout.

This is a follow up to your many blog posting since my last comment on http://eyeonalbuquerque.blogspot.com/2014/03/rj-berry-failed-to-appear.html

Could the core of Albuquerque's problems be the culture?

News story reference: Show Spotlights 2005 Hyde Murders - http://www.abqjournal.com/163613/news/show-spotlights-2005-hyde-murders.html On Aug. 18, 2005, Hyde killed APD officers Michael King and Richard Smith at the corner of Ash and Gold SE. The officers had been sent to pick up Hyde for a mental health evaluation. He ambushed them from the bushes. Earlier in the day, Hyde had killed state employee Ben Lopez and motorcycle shop workers David Fisher and Garrett Iversen.

News story reference: UPDATED: 3 Dead, 4 Wounded in Emcore Shooting - http://www.abqjournal.com/8359/abqnewsseeker/updated-3-dead-4-wounded-in-emcore-shooting.html - A gunman angry about a dispute with his girlfriend forced his way into the New Mexico manufacturing plant where she works and killed two employees Monday before turning the gun on himself, The Associated Press reported.

DOJ investigation - The police department has been under investigation for police shootings, but the ultimate question is who are Albuquerque cops shooting? To me from reading and watching news reports, cops aren't shooting soccer moms. The police shooting criminals, or people out to hurt themselves or others; some of them mentally ill, or labeled temporarily insane because they're high on drugs. Basically the type of individuals who are putting law abiding citizens at risk.

News story reference: City would pay almost $8M to settle Ellis shooting case - http://www.abqjournal.com/344029/news/city-would-pay-8m-to-settle-ellis-shooting-case.html - Ellis, 25, was killed in a January 2010 standoff outside a Northeast Heights convenience store. He was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and held a gun to his own head throughout the encounter...

News story reference: Michigan police shooting similar to ABQ case - http://www.abqjournal.com/380620/news/police-shootings-are-eerily-similar.html "well-known local activist Jewel Hall said Monday that she has received a $725,000 settlement from the city of Saginaw, Mich., where her own mentally ill son died in a hail of police bullets. Milton Hall, who was agitated and fearful when a police dog was released, brandished a 3-inch penknife...

Now I don't carry a gun nor do I carry knives. Usually, the things I do carry on my person are things I intend to use. From what I understand it only takes a split second to point and shoot a gun in another direction. Now if you're reading this comment and you are the type of person who likes to play with guns and knives and point them at yourself or threaten others and you don't want to get shot. My recommendation would be to for you to, "put weapon down!!!" I've watch episodes of cops where mentally insane people have the strength and speed of superman. So, it doesn't surprise me that cops would use deadly force when dealing with someone of this character who doesn't, "put the weapon down!!!"

Police Shooting Are A Bit Overkill - Part IV

Parents and family of police shooting victims you are not the only victims. The citizens of these communities have felt the fear and terror that your child or relative imposed on law abiding people. Mental illness and drug fueled (temporary insanity) episodes in my book is not to be considered a free pass to terrorize, rob, steal, and kill members of our community.

Like most everyone I'm saddened to hear when people die in any fashion; But, I somehow I don't feel so sympathetic when I learn that the person who died was the type of person who had the audacity to brandish a weapon on a police officer. What I actually feel is more at peace to know that type of person will no longer be a threat to myself and my family, or the other families living peacefully within our community.

Where are the protesters and outrage about the former APD Sgt. Adam Casaus who's headed to trial for running a red light and killing Ashley Rene Browder. Ashley was an outstanding young woman. A productive member of our society doing everything right and always reaching out to help others. I would feel more and peace knowing that her family was award a multimillion dollar settlement than to know that weapon wielding family members of people mentally ill or not are getting rich for their selfish acts of no regard for the rights and live of others.

Adam Casaus I understand is a blood relative of Stephen Casaus who was heard on 911 tapes threatening to beat the now dead Omaree and whose wife Synthia Varela-Casaus is charged with kicking Omaree to death. In the news story http://www.abqjournal.com/365669/news/omarees-stepdad-is-arrested.html it says that Stephen Casaus was pulled over for DWI and when police searched his car and found, cocaine, pot black tar heroin and methamphetamines.

News story reference: Synthia Varela-Casaus: Meth ‘became her life’ - http://www.abqjournal.com/379910/news/meth-became-her-life.html - Synthia had begun accumulating a lengthy list of arrests that over the years has come to include shoplifting, disorderly conduct, concealing identity, failure to appear in court, contempt of court, failure to comply with the conditions of her probation, aiding illegal activity, multiple arrests for prostitution, and a host of drug-related arrests for such things as possession, distribution and trafficking. Her stepmother summed up the root cause of Synthia’s bad choices and destructive lifestyle in one word: “Meth.”

Substance Abuse and Mental Illness in Albuquerque... I've read news articles one from National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) that says, "Recent scientific studies have suggested that nearly one-third of people with all mental illnesses and approximately one-half of people with severe mental illnesses (including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia) also experience substance abuse. Conversely, more than one-third of all alcohol abusers and more than one-half of all drug abusers are also battling mental illness. that attributes much mental illness to drug use." Which leads me to my next conclusion that the Albuquerque community helps support a culture of mental illness by allowing smoke shops, gas stations, and convenience store sell drug paraphernalia and synthetic drugs. http://www.nami.org/Content/NavigationMenu/Inform_Yourself/About_Mental_Illness/By_Illness/Dual_Diagnosis_Substance_Abuse_and_Mental_Illness.htm

Police Shooting Are A Bit Overkill - Part V

Within the past few weeks I've watched the Albuquerque community come together to protest the police shooting of James Boyd. I'm wondering why not come together to do something positive by organizing an event to having protesters go directly to the homeless community and volunteer their time, or if helping people isn't their cup of tea then a protester could have the option to donated $5 dollars to help feed the homeless, or support treatment of the mentally. And instead of our city having to pay for all the police overtime maybe our mayor would match dollar for dollar money donated by protesters to go directly to support outreach to the homeless and mentally ill within our community. Hmm, makes me wonder how many mentally ill, and homeless didn't have access to computers to sign up for Obama care and will go with treatment.

This is a big what if?, but what if??? both the protesters in support of APD and those opposed to the shooting of Mr. James Boyd would show up and protested at the door steps of each and every smoke shop, gas station and convenience store in the city of Albuquerque which sells the synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia to shut their doors and leave Albuquerque. The types of business are helping to promote and poison our children and our community and help to fuel mental illness. If we did this could we start to change the culture of our city and possible help to decrease police shootings of the mentally ill, and drug crazed criminals?

I had the opportunity to meet and speak directly to former Bernalillo County Detention Center Chief Ramon Rustin a couple of months back. When I asked him what was the hardest part about his job. The Chief Replied, "It's the culture." I asked him to explained and he told me what was pretty much mentioned in the Albuquerque Journal news article. http://www.abqjournal.com/378945/news/county-jail-chief-stepping-down-effective-april-7.html "In Rustin’s tenure as chief, he has dealt with the fallout of abruptly ending methadone treatments for inmates who came to the jail while already being prescribed the opiate-replacement drug from an outside clinic. The County Commission ultimately voted to continue the treatment, citing its value in reducing recidivism and cutting costs."

Ramon told me that it was hard to be an effective jailer when he was forced by law to supply methadon to inmates. Stephen Perkins, president of the Bernalillo County Correctional Officers’ Association, said the union was surprised by the chief’s sudden departure, and he said he wished the chief were not leaving.

“From the union’s perspective, Chief Rustin is the best thing to happen to MDC in 15 to 20 years,” Perkins said. “We've lost a great leader. It’s a sad day for MDC.”

Police Shooting Are A Bit Overkill - Part VI

Now for a moment put yourself in the shoes of Elon Musk, Tesla Motors, CEO. Would you consider bringing your billion dollar company to a Albuquerque? Would you really think twice about bringing your business and infecting your work pool of 6,500 to the cultural beliefs of a city where the jails are over filled to capacity and smoke shops are the booming business.

News story like this are absurd...
News story reference: Man arrested day after suing ex-APD officers - http://www.abqjournal.com/352180/news/man-jailed-day-after-suing-exofficers.html - A woman accused him of domestic violence on Monday, he filed an excessive-force lawsuit against two former police officers on Tuesday – stemming from a 2011 arrest – and he was arrested again on Wednesday, according to court records and police. The woman said Blume punched her, breaking her nose, after she told him that he couldn't keep firearms in the apartment, according to the complaint.

News story reference: Two new lawsuits on APD shootings - http://www.abqjournal.com/380518/news/two-new-lawsuits-on-apd-shootings.html - Police have said Ortega was reportedly driving people off the road near Girard and Lead SE before he crashed his car near Central and Washington, robbed a woman with her grandchild and attempted a carjacking, according to police. Ortega survived the shooting, and was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and armed robbery, among other charges. Ortega pleaded not guilty in that case. Police said he was drunk and possibly on prescription pills during the incident.

We ask silly questions like, "what can we do to recruit better cops? "My question is, "what can we do to recruit better class of criminals, or community leaders who understand the core of our problems began by changing our culture within the community?" Leaders who unite and lead by example. Why not began with a bottom up approach. http://ec.europa.eu/agriculture/rur/leader2/dossier_p/en/dossier/chap4.pdf

The attorney running the case wonders why this didnt come out during vetting? I'm confident it did and no one cared.
Hey Eden, say it with me since your bosses laughed as the last guy said this "let them sue me. I'll be long gone by the time it gets to court." Looks like neither of you ran far enough.

To Police Shooting Overkill,

Well-written and thoughtful article(s). You forgot one important fact. Cops do not have the right to lie, deceive and be trigger happy just because they wear a uniform. Once the culture is resolved, I would agree that we need to focus on the non-government criminals. I'm looking forward to that day when citizens can have confidence in the police force. Time will reveal when that day will come.

Maybe as part of their public relations efforts APD could produce their own version of the Happy video. Only instead of cops dancing around Albuquerque to the song (or jumping in and out of bed with beach other) they could cut and paste video from all the shootings. Call it "Trigger Happy"....

Thank your for your comments. Response from Police Shooting Are A Bit OverKill.

I can understand how you feel about liars. Nobody likes the feeling of purposely being deceived by another person; and I'd be lying to you if I said that I've never lied. Sometime in our lives we've all told a lie(s). And it's horrible feeling when someone we love or trust lies to us.

I understand this if I walked into a Honda car dealership lot and the salesperson lied to me, that does make Honda a bad car, It means that salesperson is a bad person. But, when people in positions of power, or government lie, we not only become disaffected with them, but we become disaffected with the institutions they represent. As we lose faith in them, we lose faith in ourselves.

The word trigger happy to me is a facetious and derogatory term. But, out of all the police officers today maybe less that one percent if that might be "trigger happy". What I believe is that we need both police officers and citizens who use weapons, red-light runners, and DWI/DUI drivers to make the preservation of human life the most important part of our lives. We need citizen and our police to establish the belief and attitude that, "I am Second".

I am Second - The Robertsons - http://youtu.be/FjqccYmx13w - Love God, and Love you enemies and try to be good! Try!!!

Sorry but I still think you are misguided. When you are in a position of authority, it is of utmost importance that you don’t abuse that power. Patterns of abusing power ultimately erodes the reputation of the whole, which is the case in Albuquerque. This can be seen many times in history. And since you are willing to get spiritual based on your Duck Dynasty link, you should know that in the end, evil loses. It might take years, decades and even centuries for it to happen. It’s when people unite to stand up against it that they succeed. That is also the case in Albuquerque.

The community has not lost faith in itself. In fact, it is more resolved and united than ever to do something about it. The lost faith is in the leadership, all the way up to Mayor finally-the-DOJ-came-to-my-rescue Berry. Nice preemptive strike with your DOJ invitation, Berry!

Based on DOJ’s report today, I suspect that it has been determined it’s not one percent.

I appreciate that you have found some spiritual guidance in Duck Dynasty. I’m sure they have some intuitive words of wisdom. I might suggest that you also educate yourself with other spiritual resources that have the longitude and durability to be consistent in their teachings for centuries regarding truth. There are many resources available on the internet.

Regardless of what the DOJ’s report says, we as a community should DEMAND that this administration stop abusing the citizens, not just within the police department.

It ultimately will be WE THE PEOPLE united that will make the changes necessary in Albuquerque.

MAYOR BERRY NEEDS TO GO!

Lt Huntsman taught our class and many others the use of force policy, Now they are saying everything we were taught is to aggressive! We were taught to go to weapons right away and the SWATs would hammer that home. In fact, they would race to the scene so the could be the first to shoot!

"And like true children it seems many are being distracted by bright shiny objects of police shootings, rather than the painful truth that those in power are the real source of tragedy facing this city. "

You think citizens upset with APD virtually hunting them down and killing them are obsessed with a shiny toy? You think people objecting to a police force that doesn't care about citizen safety is unreasonable?

I wonder if whoever wrote this is typical of APD's careless attitude towards the people they are sworn to protect.

Very sad day indeed. I'd rather take my chances than call APD.
