The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. TASERGATE Continued: DEFECTIVE PRODUCT

UPDATE 4-25-14: KRQE reporters Matt Grubbs and Jeff Proctor will follow up on Tina Jensen's TaserGate story tonite. Our eyes tell us it includes some none-too-pleased city officials and their response to Schultz's little marketing trip to Australia and the slideshow he used featuring APD officer Leah Kelly-Akata.
(See it again here: http://www.slideshare.net/informaoz/ray-schultz)

UPDATE: Kudos to KRQE reporter Tina Jensen for her excellent story on Schultz and Taser. Now we see Perry and Levy are in the mix. Go to krqe.com to see her outstanding report. And also thanks to a reader, these little gadgets are $500/each.

As we all know by now, in the last few days of being the chief of the Albuquerque Police Department, then chief Raymond Schultz signed $1,900,000 deal with Taser International. In the deal, Schultz contracted the city and the department with a company who he then went to work for immediately following his retirement.

As we've seen since then, the Taser "AXON" Flex camera has proven to be a less than reliable product. In fact, it seems it has been a failure. And while the taxpayers, the city, and the very officers are left holding the bag, herr Schultz has been glob trotting around the pacific promoting the product. You know, "sharing their experiences...."

Well, some of our Eyes in APD have confirmed with pictures what we have been hearing for some time. That not only is the AXON product defective, but it is cheaply made. Below are some pictures of the $300 product after having been worn in the field for not even a few weeks.

What you are seeing in these images is how easily the power line detaches from the battery case. Also notice how the locking clamp cuts through the male connector leading it to accidental disassembly.

Now we know there has been much talk about the recent shooting of Mary Hawkes by APD officer Dear (yes the same one that bailed Schultz out of his infamous drunk driver window smashing arrest at the 2012 State Fair...), but we find it curious APD's current chief Eden would send the device to Taser for a "forensic" examination. You see our Eyes are telling us, when Eden wont, that, oh dear, there is NO lapel camera video from the shooting of Mary Hawkes. And whether it was because Dear failed to press record (we can't imagine he would do that given he was on a perimeter post), failed to report defective gear, or the department failed to replace defective gear, we know only to well how this mess will end.....much larger than how it started. And it started in TJ WILHAM supersize portions.....

We think it's time for public hearings for Schultz's activity with TASER....among other matters....

Eye you got everything right but the price. The Axon Flex cost $499 for each one. Not $300.

Albuquerque taxpayer gets stuck while Ray Schultz gets paid by Taser. and no one wants to investigate.

Dear never turned the recorded on. He didn't want any evidence of him murdering Hawkes. She was tired of turning tricks for SE Area cops and was going to DOJ.

Roseman admitted this months ago at a POC subcommittee meeting in front of a number of witnesses. He said the UNM boys gave up after just 3 months due to the high failure rate. These are nothing but expensive tinker toys being sold by people the likes of Ray Shultz...
I hear next month he is branching out selling bridges in NYC and land in Florida...all under the TASER INT name...

This certainly answers a lot of questions...

Ok so Ray greased the city council, tells a perspective vendor that he has the Mayor's ear and is offered a job all in the same process and no auditing or investigating agency sees an issue? Where is the Inspector general? This is illegal and in direct violation of the procurement process. Falls in line with the Racino deal, White/Schultz the Jay McClesky shuffle.

2 million dollar contract that didn't go to RFP/RFB? If they claim exempt from RFP/RFB because of sole source, I say bullshit! Google lapel cameras and a whole plethora of vendors and suppliers are painted before your eyes.

KRQE, Tina Jensen, put it all together. Wow these emails are the pay to play smoking gun. "greased" and San Diego parties for all APD people paid for by TAser. Will the DoJ and NM AG investigate this now? I give KRQE credit they found emails and documents that no one else (not even the Eye) had. Kudos to KRQE, now will the DoJ investigate Pay to Play with Schultz and Taser?

I am so sick of all this stuff!!! Ex chief Schultz doing insider trading deals. The public riled up by the liberal runaway crook loving media. A police department being bossed around by the media and feds that cant even get their own act together (botched fast and furious operation). Last but not least cops that now need to be scarred that their department will not support them if they get involved in a shooting. Its time our figure heads get behind the cops and tell the public that the law is neutral and objective; you commit a crime you will get arrested. You point a gun at a cop you will get shot. I do not blame people for leaving this department it has become sad at APD. The cops should go on strike and then we will see how all those 'chris chases' or 'james boids' or 'mary hawkes' will come to their rescue when someone assaults, burglarizes, or robbes them. When did the upper echelon become so spine less. Yes i am anonymous because voicing your opinion gets you fired

"You point a gun at a cop you will get shot."

Also if you don't point a gun at a cop. In fact, you don't even have to be armed. The officer will ensure they escalate the situation until they "have no choice." Or they might just kill you and cripple your sister, lie about it, and still draw a paycheck for 90 days after being charged with a serious felony.

"The cops should go on strike and then we will see how all those 'chris chases' or 'james boids' or 'mary hawkes' will come to their rescue when someone assaults, burglarizes, or robbes them."

Whose rescue would that be? I hear this one a lot, about how the public is just so helpless without the police department around to hold their hand while crossing the street. Yet every single cop in ABQ is ready to fill their diaper and reach for their sidearm just as soon as they can in every encounter they have with someone. So which is it? Are all the people in ABQ retards who couldn't survive without Officer Mommy and Daddy, or fire-breathing, blood thirsty ninjas who could produce a weapon out of thin air? It can't be both ways, even if you pussy cops want it to be.

Also, anyone who has seen even just one episode of "Cops" can tell you that the police very rarely interdict a crime in progress. You're not out there saving people like you're Batman. So feel free to not hassle the homeless, or the mentally ill, or hide inside all day, or whatever the threat is. When any of us does get assaulted, robbed, whatever, we could probably find literally anybody else to come over 2 hours later and act very put out to have to write a report.

We are fools to expect ANY true relief from the "DOJ". Apparently, the city brass and the "DOJ" are in
NEGOTIATIONS regarding implementation of changes needed at APD. Negotiate my fanny! If wrong doing was done, right it! Remember, this is the same Department of "Justice" that is working to release nearly 200,000 convicted, drug-related felons, back onto our streets, because the President thinks the sentencing guidelines at the time of their convictions were "unfair". We are all fools if this DOJ will truly offer JUSTICE! Forget them looking into Schultz & Tasergate, the members of the "DOJ" must have a moral compass to begin with!

Here’s the solution to this crisis. C=Co(SQ)>R(C). The formula reads: Change happens when the cost of the status quo is greater than the risk of change. It is obvious to the wise man that Berry and Eden are the status quo as evidenced by yesterday's press conference on yet another killing. BERRY AND EDEN NEED TO GO as the risk of change is far less than the status quo.

The formula is not my idea, it's Alan Webber's. It also what we need for the crisis in NM. His video will explain his vision of leadership, something which is sorely lacking in Albuquerque and NM. http://www.alanfornm.com/ I don't know him personally. I just googled him and found his vision refreshing.

Re: 7:10's comment:

"We are all fools if this DOJ will truly offer JUSTICE!"

I completely agree with you. Next week is a moment of truth for the DOJ. Everybody should attend the meetings and let them know we need some substantive results from their overdue investigation. Either they GET SOME RESULTS or it's time for an ABQ SPRING!

Dog and pony show time is over and the results will speak for themselves. WE THE PEOPLE need to take matters into our own hands if we want this fixed.

Well said. There is no proof that in the latest shooting the now departed had a gun. In fact, all evidence points against that.

I like the idea of having security other than APD. I don't see what value APD brings to the table. I would have to be dead before I would want APD involved because I probably will be dead if they are involved.

APD you 34's can stop threatening all of us with a work stoppage. We would be glad if you did stop. Please give that idea further consideration. In fact the entire APD force should either strike or be fired.

I think we'd be safer if that happened.

Anonymous said...

@ 12:26

I second the motion. Please go on strike APD, the community will be safer without your services! Take it one step further.....gated neighborhood associations and don't give APD the code! If they trespass, then the neighborhood security association deals with the trespassers accordingly? Good riddance PoPo!!!

San Diego again. Isn't that the same trip that led to the Chiefs divorce? Was there any taxpayer money spent on that trip that will be found to be legitimate? What's next? Did we pay for the Target Store executives who came along?

And what does TJ have to do with these cameras and the Taser contract? Was he the one who first approached them on the Chiefs behalf? You know how it's done. Like Eden was told to apply for Chief.

Sending the lapel camera back to Tazer should have never happened and it is likely they will find nothing or that the lapel camera was never turned on. The problem created by sending it back to Tazer is that the "Chain of Custody" has been jeopardized that may affect admissibility in a courtroom. APD supposedly has one of the best forensic labs in the county and should have the equipment to down load what was on that lapel camera and figure out what happened. With all the problems with the lapel cameras, the City should return the equipment and demand a full refund of the $2 million.

The camera has been sent to the manufacturer for analysis of the Mary Hawkes video where Shultz is on the payroll. Is he greasing the wheels again?

Anonymous said...

she wasn't shot in the back she turned and was less than 5 feet from the officer when she pointed the gun at him. she could have obeyed the command to stop but chose to try to kill a police officer. they don't have to wait for someone to kill them to protect themselves. she was in a stolen car and she wasn't sleeping.

How is it you know this but not Eden? And I guess the stories about her being used by SE 34s is also true huh.

All of these scumbags are running the show. Martinez,Berry ,Perry , Mcclesky, patty French. This is one scam among many we fell for.. Remember our retirement was on life support and near death a year ago? Now it has the most money it's ever had in history. Schultz needs to go to jail with the rest of these pukes.

Anonymous said...

If they knew who she, why did they hunt her down. They could have gotten a warrant for her, but no I guess she was too easy a take down. So why aren't the police aggressively looking for the home invasion offender that shot a veteran? Oh yeah, he was armed and not afraid to shoot.

The Nate Korn connection is next.
Schultz hooked Korn up with contracts by circumventing the bid system in return for favorable LEA board decisions in matters where Ray went after officers certifications.
There is no coincidence that Korn owns Kauffmsn's west. He is the biggest supplier to APD, and he is the co-chair of the NM LEA board. Korn bullies the other board members into illegal and capricious decisions as favors to Ray.

It is all coming out now fellas!

High ranking officials in prostitution rings.
Mary Han murder and Crime scene desecration.
Kauffman's contracts.
Tazergate in the making.
ARAPAscam.
Misappropriations of grant funds.
And the list goes on....

They will know it all soon.
Hope the ride was fun because now the real rude starts.

Y'all should have left well enough alone, but you just couldn't help yourselves.

Berry said on Thursday, “What I would like to do, is now that we have the DOJ working with us, let’s take the time to properly craft a solution that will work both for the community and the department, making sure that the disciplinary policies are in place so that it's consistent and it drives the use towards the cameras all of the time."

Now that we have DOJ working with us?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

If you have not read the articles associated with these three stories you must. Jensen, Grubbs and Proctor have put 100% more information into the text of these reports. The timeline of kickbacks and pay to play gifts that Taser provided Schultz and staff is stunning. This will be found in the text of the EMAILS article. Click on the different timelines and you see Schultz, Levy, Hubbard, Banks etc all taking gifts from Taser. KRQE did a great job, but don't just listen to the report, you have to read the report to see everything they uncovered. Shocking corruption at the top of APD. Will the DoJ investigate?

Anonymous said...

What the hell did Hubbard do

Anonymous said...

6:11

You are wrong. We demanded an investigation into Tasergate and now we have it. The highest person in the police department is going to be held to the same accountability as the lowest member of the police department. No need to go anywhere else. The people and the officers are stepping up, the media heard them and now the City Council has ordered and investigation and soon the DoJ will follow. We are holding those in power accountable. I think I will stay.

Anonymous said...

3:57

What did Hubbard do? Go to the KRQE website and read the article. Check the time line and click on the January 2014 links. He took an all expenses paid trip to a Taser conference (paid for by Taser). He basically was selling Taser products on city time. Hmmmmmmm isn't this what the 4 New Mexico State Police offiers did back in 2007? They committed a 4th degree felony but NMSP wouldn't prosecute and Schultz hired them. Well of course he did, he doesn't think it was a crime to double dip off the city city while being paid by Taser. This onion is being peeled. Just what until the FBI starts to interview them.
