The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. SusanaGate: The Start of the END

While the flames of the forest fires in the Jemez Mountains have been spreading wider and burning hotter, not even they are reaching the heat of controversies involving, yet again, our state's leaders. Over the last few days we've seen Governor Martinez's former campaign manager arrested and charged with internet related crimes and lying to FBI agents. Then federal agents then arrested a contract political fundraiser after they uncovered child pornography on his computers when they were searched in connection with the investigation of the campaign manager.

Then one of the Albuquerque Journal's senior reporters, Mike Gallagher, unbelievably reports that the images seized by federal agents involved six-year old children having sex with an adult. This type of reporting give the impression to the public it's okay. IT IS NOT OKAY! (HEY DUMBASS REPORTER AND EDITOR, SIX-YEAR OLDS DON'T HAVE SEX WITH ADULTS, THEY ARE RAPED BY ADULTS!)

Then of course another contract fundraiser and daughter of a prominent Republican party member came forward and confirmed she was interviewed by FBI agents. She advised that the interview had nothing to do with emails but entirely focused on the Albuquerque Downs and thus finally confirmed there's an active investigation involving the ABQ Downs racino contract that Governor Martinez fast-tracked to her campaign friends, and husband's hunting buddies, from New Orleans.

Republican pet snake political strategist Jay McCleskey came to Martinez's rescue in an effort to redirect any criticism on her. In the unusual move of a sitting governor claiming to be a victim, McCleskey ghostwrote for Martinez and unleashed a personal attack on the lawyers hired to represent the people accused of crimes. As a side bar, like them or not, criminal defense lawyers are a necessary part of the justice system, and since when don't Republicans use them? Last time we checked, Martinez's personal lawyer, Paul Kennedy, was a criminal defense lawyer himself. But of course, McCleskey underestimated his opponents. By attacking them with a smear campaign maligning their professional efforts it was only a matter of time before Democratic State Party chairman Sam Bregman weighed in:

"..perhaps your motive is to change the conversation from the miserable, sorry job that you have done as Governor when it comes to creating jobs in this state and educating our children."

Bregman continued to deride Martinez for essentially prosecutorial misconduct. Of course over at the Downs, Darren White's constant self absorbed tweets have all but come to a standstill after political blogger Joe Monahan punked him out for tweeting while at work. Given that the gap toothed failed sheriff never managed a construction project in his life, it's not surprising to us that contractors who work over at the Downs tell us that Darren's main function is to wander around the job site and ask annoying questions about hammers and nails.

But what does all this mean?

Obviously with the Albuquerque mayoral election in full swing a common denominator is political strategist Jay McCleskey. He advises Martinez and he advises Berry and is buddies with White. But with all this pushback going on upon Martinez (where she personally posts on her Facebook page...um really?) and what clearly is a federal investigation that is unfolding (and we're not even talking about APD) and expanding we can expect Berry to simply hide as McCleskey's time is consumed in dealing with Martinez.

The Eye expects Berry will not be seen in public, will not engage Pete Dinelli or Paul Heh in any capacity, will make few if any press statements, and will be constantly unavailable as he hides behind his pet dog Rob Perry or his pet mule and other common denominator....Paul Kennedy. But from the looks of a case forwarded to us from one of our legal Eyes, it seems Kennedy is going to be busy with his lawyer Mickey Barnett as it seems his deceased partner's family is suing him over his tampering with her estate. Look up In Re Han under Judge Barela-Shephard at www.nmcourts.com

So with all this going on, and of course don't think for minute we've forgotten about you Schultz and Levy, it seems Berry is going to have a very hot summer. And all we can say is more is coming, and we have some of our own tasty surprises for these pets snakes, dogs, and mules.

FIRE RAGES ON

No we’re not talking about the fires in Jemez or Pecos, New Mexico; we are talking about the huge drug problem here in Albuquerque and how it is impacting the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.  Overcrowding has hit a critical level and now the County Commission has authorized a one-time payment of six million dollars to temporarily move the overflow to other facilities according to Channel 7 News (READ IT HERE).

Until Mayor Berry of Albuquerque takes responsibility for our city and the pandemic problems we have here, things will continue to deteriorate.  Berry wants to boot the car of a ‘John,’ Berry started another “plan” to deal with property crime, Berry this and Berry that… It is sickening to hear all the political garbage from Mayor Berry.  Here is an idea: take ownership of the problems; be responsible and accountable.  This will allow a process to take place and fix the underlying cause of the overcrowding at the jail.
The underlying problem is drugs like heroin, oxycontin and meth.  We need to find an answer to these problems.  Drug users do not have the money to purchase the drugs so they turn to a life of crime.  They steal cars, commit burglaries, commit larcenies, commit fraud and identity theft, etc...  Bottom-line; they all eventually end up in the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.  The end result is overcrowding.
Berry has done nothing to correct this problem or to even start to address it.  We need a new mayor with an understanding of what is ailing our city and has a plan to correct the problems.
The only mayoral candidate who has a plan to address this issue is Paul Heh.  One of the main prongs to Heh’s campaign is to start a drug rehabilitation center where non-violent criminals who are addicted to drugs can receive real treatment which may take up to a year.  Heh understands that “locking em’ up” is not the solution but part of the problem.   Heh’s plan includes an education and skills/trades component where the person will also receive a minimum of a G.E.D. and when they are released they will have the skills/trades to support themselves without returning to a life of crime.  If you would like to read more on it click (HERE).
This problem IS NOT going away.  It will only get worse with time and the County will be spending ten times this amount in the future.  The drug inferno will only rage on and continue out of control until we elect competent leaders.  Why hasn’t this mayor worked collaboratively with the County to solve the underlying problem? We all know the answer…Four more years of Berry will prove to be devastating to all of us.
The six million dollars the County is spending now is wasted. That same money could have been more wisely spent on solving the problem not treating the symptoms of the problem.
There is a saying, “If you’re not part of the solution it means your part of the problem.”  Berry Bueller; Berry Bueller; Anyone? Anyone?
We need to turn our city around.

Time to give Berry the Boot NOT the ‘Johns’

Anyone remember the oldest profession in the World? Prostitution? No, prostitution is the second oldest profession in the World. That’s right; being a politician! We should be putting a boot on Berry as he heads out the door. The City of Albuquerque is a wash of oxycontin and heroin, but Berry is more concerned and worried about putting a boot on some poor saps car. We are not condoning prostitution but by the same token why isn’t the city booting the cars of drug users? Drug pushers? How about Property crime offenders?

The answer is simple; Berry barrowed Martinez’s pet snake, Jay McCleskey, who has ordered Berry to get his “face” and his name out more for the public. This was nothing more than a publicity stunt, and a cheap one at that. Berry’s numbers in the polls are slipping and this has caused a lot of hissing by McCleskey. Usually when you see a snake all coiled up and hissing you take a shovel to it; not Berry, he is quick to follow McCleskey’s orders. It is both funny and ironic (moronic for Berry) to follow the orders of this person. Does Berry not know the parable about Adam and Eve and the snake who lead to the first original sin?
What happens when the person is on foot or the phone? Is APD going to start seizing the guy’s shoes or his cell phone? This is absolutely ridiculous, and only proves Berry is not making any decisions.

Booting DUI offenders is reasonable; they present a clear and present danger to all of us, if and when they go back on the roadway. How does the practice of drunk drivers who have an on-going and continuous danger to the public in general compare to a ‘John’ who is looking for some type of sexual relations? The comparison is dismal at best. So the ‘John’ gets frustrated and starts drinking and driving or starts looking for a different violent way to handle his frustrations, such as, rape or other forms of molestation.

Great Berry, you stopped the ‘John’ and now the ‘John’ has graduated to a more violent and heinous crimes…Perhaps Berry or McCleskey could show some statistical data to support this alleged danger that “Johns” pose to the community. Prohibition did not work and this baloney is not going to either.

Oddly enough, Berry stated, “We think this is going to be a tremendous deterrent for those soliciting the services of a prostitute. Where does Berry get the “we think” stuff from? Oh, that’s right he’s got a pet snake in his pocket.

The ACLU has now entered this controversy and are not pleased by McCleskey’s or Berry’s decision.

The City is relying on the City’s civil authority to “abate nuisances.”Prostitution is not a meth house that is riddled with bullets and criminals all over the place or a drunk who have, or could kill or injure the public. The story states, Under Meyers’ proposal, the city would declare a motor vehicle used in prostitution as the “instrumentality of the nuisance.” Could we use the same premise and boot Albuquerque’s nuisances (Berry, McCleskey and Meyers) since all three of them are “instrumentality of the nuisance?” Here is another misleading statement that Berry used to legitimize this dumb idea. “Berry and Meyers said the idea is part of the city’s efforts to crack down on human trafficking, the victims of which are often forced into prostitution. How does a ‘John’ asking for service from a prostitute now become “human trafficking?” If human trafficking is the core issue; go after the pimps and the Mexican Drug Cartel.

All joking aside, we do not condone prostitution. What we are saying is if the real problem is human trafficking, do some analysis as to why, or how people allow themselves to become prostitutes. Is it a run-a-way person, or someone hooked on meth or oxycontin? The Mayor needs to solve the core issue or problem, and stop the babbling to get free press coverage. This is just another reason why we need to vote Berry out.We need a mayor who will solve the core issues and problems, and not try and create new gibberish to pretend he is really trying to do something.

SENSELESS MURDER OF A HELPLESS INNOCENT BABY

Here at the Eye On Albuquerque, we believe one of true benedictions of life is our children. This story is about a helpless innocent baby who was raped and brutally murdered at the hands of a known criminal whose convictions include injury to a child in Texas.   We feel this child’s death would be in vain if we did not tell this story. Our hope is of stopping another child from being hurt.  This story will also delineate how our justice system failed this child as well as the rest of us.
What prompted us to write about this baby girl was the rain we received the other day. Some say that rain is tears from God… Its a somber thought but in any event this baby’s story must become known to all and perhaps this may help stop another atrocity.
In December of 2011, a known criminal with a well documented twenty-year criminal history raped and murdered a ONE MONTH OLD BABY GIRL.  Let me me repeat that: a known criminal with a well documented twenty-year criminal history raped and murdered a ONE MONTH OLD BABY GIRL.  This makes one perplex how could anyone hurt a one month old baby?  For even the people with a harden heart cannot understand these actions.
In any of our Eye stories you will not hear us mention the offenders name and the reason for this is; they deserve absolutely no recognition for their evil acts. Instead we concentrate on the victim and other facts.
According to the Albuquerque Journal (READ IT HERE), the offender of this heinous and violent crime was deported to Mexico in August of 2011.  This criminal re-entered the United States illegally.  Based on this offender’s’ past criminal record, he did not enter the United States of America to escape poverty or political oppression; he enter the United States to continue his violent malice criminal behavior.  Top management claims that the best indicator of future performance is past performance.  Is there any doubt in anyone’s mind what this criminal is going to do next?
This offender was deported a total of two times.  According to the US Border Patrol spokesperson Zamirripa in an email to the Journal, “Anyone who re-enters the United States after being formally deported following an aggravated felony conviction commits a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.”  Zamirripa also stated Possession of a Controlled Substance is considered an aggravated felony.  This offender was convicted of Possession of a Controlled Substance before he was deported. Who cares if it’s 50 years? This person should not have been allowed to continue his crime spree.  This offender has a violent criminal history dating back twenty years.

While the mother of the baby went shopping and to the casino the one month old baby girl was left with the baby’s grandmother’s boyfriend. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home early on December 29, 2011. When deputies arrived they found a one month old girl deceased.  According to the complaint, the baby had injuries consistent with a sexual assault and bruises to her face and chest.
The offender admitted that he used Meth according to the complaint. According to the Journal story, the offender stated, “He heard the baby girl choking, took her from her crib and began to pat her in the back, but later began to punch her back.” This piece of garbage was punching a one month old baby in the back.
In a story on Channel 7 News (READ IT HERE) it states according to the criminal complaint, “an autopsy revealed the baby had numerous rib fractures in different stages of healing, brain bleeds, a lacerated liver and anal and vaginal tearing.”  This monster did the unthinkable to this helpless innocent baby girl.
Most recently the monster who brutally abused, raped and murdered this child wants the charges dropped according to the Channel 7 News story above. According to Channel 7 less than a month after his arrest, a grand jury indicted the offender on charges of first-degree murder, child abuse and aggravated criminal sexual penetration. There has been no movement in the case since the GJ indictment. Now the offender’s public defender, Jeff Buckles, will argue to throw the case out.
This falls squarely on none other than Bernalillo County District Attorney, Kari Brandenburg.  As you recall the Eye On Albuquerque pointed out Brandenburg’s terrible record and endorsed her opponent, Lisa Torraco, for D.A.  Those who voted for Brandenburg can partially be responsible if this baby rapist/murder goes free.  As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for the County, Brandenburg should be held criminally and civilly liable for the action or lack thereof from her office.  You cannot say you did not know what a failure Brandenburg was; we told you about it.

If you see or suspect ANY TYPE of abuse or neglect of ANY CHILD report it immediately to law enforcement. Do not let this baby’s death be meaningless.  We cumulatively must do everything within our power to put an end to child abuse and neglect. It doesn’t matter rather it is your child or my child; I would take a bullet for any child as would any other parent, grandparent or any other decent person.  The Eye On Albuquerque still advocates the death penalty for this type of offense.

Berry Continues to Displace City Workers by Privatization

As we have reported here on the Eye how Berry has been busy privatizing as much of the city services as possible. Why would a standing mayor intentionally privatize city jobs?  Someone has sold their soul to the devil…

Berry has acted irresponsibly several times and has led the city into the pits of hell by losing 3,900 jobs in one year (Albuquerque was #1 in the US for job losses), cost the tax payers over 54 million dollars in liability in one year, and has ruined our economy.  Here we are again on the top ten lists of BAD THINGS: Albuquerque now ranks #8 for poverty (Thanks Berry). Of course while Berry goes home to his park like retreat in Four Hills where he wastes thousands of gallons of water each month, the rest of us have to live in the ill-repute that Berry has caused.

Berry has privatized parts of the City’s library, parts of the zoo, city legal to compensate for incompetent attorneys and now the security and EMS services for the Balloon Fiesta Park.  At the Wine Festival over last weekend we observed private security not police officers and private EMS not AFD personnel. Berry continues to prove he doesn’t want our city to grow and prosper but Berry clearly wants all the SOB’s (Supports of Berry) to prosper…That is the only logical reasoning to privatize the City and City services.

SIDEBAR

The Eye has obtained proof of Berry’s inept leadership and we will show the lies and incompetence. Would you believe that Berry’s management team INSTRUCTED employees to lie?  They also instructed them how to lie and what lies to tell?  If we showed you this proof would you still vote for this lying ostrich or would you vote him out?  More to come on this folks…

END SIDEBAR

We hope you enjoy your Ivory Tower Berry; for it will not be long until your world comes tumbling down and you will be forced to deal with the disastrous reality you have created.

A PUBLIC SHAME

RECOGNIZE ANYONE?

About 10 days ago a high profile fundraiser was held for the incumbent mayor of Albuquerque, RJ Berry. Oddly enough the fundraiser, marked at $500 per attendee, was held at the law office of Paul J. Kennedy, whom many of our readers know has done quite well for himself in suing the City of Albuquerque and in other nefarious affairs. Some concerned citizens forwarded to us the pictures of many of the folks who showed up, and when they couldn't get a picture of their faces because people literally fled inside the offices of 201 12th Street NW, they were able to get their car's plates.

One may ask why is the Eye doing this? The answer faithful reader is in the days since this fundraiser, MUCH has come out about not only about who these people are supporting, but who many of these people may be. As we've seen, the problems plaguing Albuquerque also plague the state. This cabal of Republicans, who in fact know NOTHING of true Republicanism but plenty about fascism, is chin deep in corruption. And it doesn't take a 1st-grader to connect these dots.

A few days ago Governor Martinez's former campaign manager was indicted on federal charges stemming from activities involving the governor's staff. And no sooner had the state's Republican cheerleader and failed DPS secretary, failed county sheriff, and failed public safety director, Darren White say or express words to the effect of "Look this has nothing to do with me and my ignorance in knowing nothing about construction or business operations or the ABQ Downs," did a high ranking Republican fundraiser come forward and confirm that she was interviewed by FBI special agents concerning the ABQ Downs deal and NOT the campaign manager. At issue is whether or not the Martinez administration participated and benefited from what is yet another "pay to play" incident in a state known across the country as one of the most corrupt places in the country. Despite all of the fiscal conservative talk by Martinez and her cronies, if you're a friend of Susana, no expenses will be spared to take care of you. Be it a $100,000+ salary or a lease worth over $1 Billion to Martinez supporters.

So here, while all this corrupt activity is going on, we have yet another fundraiser involving the same people who supported Martinez, at the law office of Martinez's personal lawyer, and coordinated by the very people that coordinated Martinez's campaign. All this in a city that since RJ Berry took office has seen reverse economic growth, a reduction in services, who are seeing the state's largest police force wither in their very eyes all while a failed police chief continues to say all is good like those violinists who continued to play while the Titanic was sinking.

And oh, where is Martinez? Oh she's in DC at another fundraiser glowing in artificial light cast upon her simply because the IDEA of a Hispanic female office holder is what the RNC thinks will be the next best thing. We say idea because we know it isn't because of anything Martinez has done for she's done simply nothing all while the rest of the country has moved forward.  Does anyone think a huge fund raiser like this should have been held in New Mexico where Albuquerque and/or New Mexico would benefit from it.

So look at these people and the plates. Some of our Eye's recognize these $500 per person attendees because their names come up quite frequently. Or maybe print them up and put them on a dartboard and play beer games.

But know this, when you hear yet another story about Albuquerque on yet another top ten bad list (like last week's annual real estate report....still a buyer's market, still in a recession), remember these are the people that not only donated to RJ Berry and want to keep him as Albuquerque's mayor, but profit from everybody else's misery and hardship.

LAWNMOWER MAN

Recently one of the uber expensive gadgets from APD's RTCC was, well, disabled while deployed on a super secret mission.

Recently there had been reports of a streaker running around Mariposa park. While we won't be the ones to identify the irony in that, but we thought much was strange about this story. But our eyes are reporting that things get even stranger yet.

Instead of parking the mobile bat-cam drone during a time when the alleged streaker would be out and about, the braintrust leaders at APD parked the $60,000 super spy machine out at night to watch the park during hours where nobody would lawfully be allowed in the park. Now, our guess is RTCC Commander TJ Wilham really wanted to see if there were couples going to the park to...watch stars. Because we know TJ is into watching people watch stars we're left scratching our heads as to what exactly the law enforcement related purpose was.

Of course while APD abandoned the machine in the park, much like they did a few years ago with a laptop stuffed in a backpack and a miserably failed tac-plan operation a few years ago, along came some fellows who wanted to take the funny looking drone.
But not surprisingly, they couldn't take the machine and in their efforts to return it to the city, they tipped it over. But this is where things take on a curve scarier than the Blair Witch Project. While the drone was on it's side still recording it caught an image of the nefarious streaker....like that character in Stephen King's story The Lawmower Man, it caught an image of a robust yet disgustingly pink human being completely naked and buried in fresh clippings of grass. But who was this person? Look at the weird image provided by one of our eyes....it looks like none other than..TJ!!!

We can't even make this up folks. A failed police chief allows a failed newspaper reporter to deploy a device worth as much as the average home in Albuquerque to video a suspect committing a petty misdemeanor crime during the time they are not reported to be committing the offense and who does the device capture....but the very reporter!!! We wonder what the other camera's showed? Perhaps the failed Mayor, Mr. Dick Berry and his hockey playing wannabe tough-guy Mr. Perry in a tryst only appropriate for the park they were watching?
