The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Let’s Lie to the City Council and the Public

Back on August 7, 2013, we reported to you (READ IT HERE) how the new Interim Chief of Police, Allen Banks, started his new position by lying to the City Council.  Banks was asked by City Councilor, Ken Sanchez, about the Gang Unit. Banks lied and told the Council the Gang Unit was not disbanded but members were “placed” in other units. Well, this was a lie and here is more proof to show it was a lie.

SIDEBAR
Here is an excerpt from the Eye’s story:
“Councilor Ken Sanchez stated to Banks that he understood that the APD Gang Unit was disbanded in APD. Sanchez then asked Interim Chief Banks if this was true. Banks replied, “No,” the unit has not been disbanded but the officers assigned to the gang unit have been “placed” in other units…”
The comparison is asking someone to do something and they reply, "Yes, I won't."
END SIDEBAR
Recently the memo below was circulated by APD. Now you can read it and decide if Banks disbanded the original unit and is now trying to reformulate a new unit or he is now wasting time and money duplicating the same position that Banks claims still exists.
Or does this mean that gangs are out of control in Albuquerque and Failed Mayor Berry has failed again to disclose the danger to the public? Or is it all of the above?
If you’re tired of Albuquerque being the worst of the worst under the current failed leadership; the time has come to VOTE this administration OUT!
Did anyone notice who this memo says “the” Chief of Police is? It says, Raymond D. Schultz.  Right after Martin Luther King Day and Banks is being treated like a second class citizen. Although, we recognize there is no official date on the memo; we are still waiting for the real chief of police to step forward...

MAYOR BERRY WELCOMES YOU TO "ALBUCROOKQUE!"

More places for units to hide. While they disappear for 3 hours to take pictures of a wannabe gangster we get to pick up the slack. 17 calls yesterday. Real service there. But hey, we got ERT also so why not. They get to act like elite parabitches but sadly only doing traffic control. Fkn joke....

"August 14, 2013" is the date of the memo. It is in the black section of header just under, "Albuquerque Police Department."

Yea, but Macarena Page sent it out.

The fact that Albuquerque has one of the highest gang members for capita in this country directly reflects on the incompetence (or cooperation) of the police force and policies of all local law enforcement.
The safety of the community, especially the UNM and CNM students "forced" to live here, is obviously NOT important to those in government. Shame on you !

I would like to know why is it that officers are going to be pulled from the field next month. The NRA is having a shooting event at the range and ERT officer's are being FORCED to work it. They have to work four Ten hour days. They will not be paid overtime but will have to adjust regular work days. It's already bad enough the field is short now it's going to be even shorter. Good luck citizens of ABQ please take number and they will get to you sometime during the day or night.

You have to have a letter of rec from your current sup? So if your sup knows he can't afford to loose another body you don't get a letter and you can't apply no matter how good you are?
And you want our monthlies? So if I pad my stats that gets me in? Awesome
But hey thanks for opening that SID cash register to another 30 of us. It's in addition to FSB duties so every time I work it will be OT to go out and patrol where I already work

@423 I want to know why the NRA does not have to pay Chiefs OT rate, hell why do they get all this attention every year for free?! How many hundreds of thousands has been spent to support this event?! What's next we pay to send 34s to participate in charity runs, oops we already do that too.

Pathetic. Another move by Berry to gain votes. Officers need to call the media and let them do a ride along to see what is really happening on the safe streets of Albuquerque

The NRA shoot and getting 34s to work is called former dcoo mike Castro.

"Former" DC Castro? Then why does he get to use City email for this? Isn't he still a City employee? Does anyone just retire anymore or is every fifth floor on a consulting contract?

Can someone please explain: What is the deal with the "Gang Unit"?

Immediately following the headline news about a biker gang showdown for control of drug trafficking routes through Albuquerque, the APD announced that it had disbanded its Gang Unit.

WTF? Wouldn't you think the Gang Unit would be the frontline of defense of our city? Instead APD met this threat with a cowardly retreat by a totally inept and unprepared department.

It looks as if the puppet masters rushed Banks to the fore with his gobblty-gook about reassignments (please, someone give that guy a PIO), but even that failed to address the enormous threat to take over control of the drug trade in our city by organized criminal gangs.

What in the hell does the Gang Unit do? Who is in charge? Is it still that odd-looking woman? Has it been disbanded, dispersed, or reorganized? Who do they serve? The gangs or the citizens of Albuquerque?

The people of Albuquerque deserve to know the truth. 11,000 gang members are vying for control of drug trafficking routes, not to mention their voracious hunger for the hearts and minds of our children.

This administration should stop acting like the proliferation of organized criminal gangs in Albuquerque is a non-issue. At best it makes City Hall look indifferent; at worst it looks like complicity.

The night uniform Gang unit was disbanded. They were useless. The UC Gang unit it still in tact. Those who were "reassigned", were taken care of. They all should've been put back in the field taking calls......& their Sgt. too

I'm glad they disbanded the gang unit! Great start, now lets get to disbanding about 14 other "specialized units"! Send em all back to the field ASAP where we need them not hiding out inside pretending to be busy when in fact they're only working out, or on a two or three hour lunch.

The UC Gang Unit is another team that only go after 29's. I thought they were suppose to be targeting gangs.

"PD S36, I'm holding 15 calls, 3 priority 1's, no units 10-8"

"10-4 PD"

"Is there a GSU Unit for the Foothills?

"10-4 I'll be enroute!"
"Code 4 that unit PD, I'm closer and will take it."
"PD I'm in the Foothills and 56, I'll take it."

I have no idea who you vary talking about. LB was a good dude and a lot of fun to work for. That is until they bound his hands and made us a warrant squad.

Clearly someone is running their mouth like a little bitch and never worked for LB. LB knew how to make a case, the charges stuck every God damn time and perps went away for decades. Not like now, now it's book them one by one, pray to god the DA doesn't drop the charges down or worse fail to move so the charges are dismissed because too much time has gone by, then when they see you on the streets again six months later hope your lapel camera is pointed the right direction when they spit on you or pull a gun because if it isn't recording when you respond your career is over.

@6:47

If you're bitchin now about your lapel, wait until the DOJ consent decree falls down on APD's proverbial head! The lapel camera will be the least of your worries then Mr. Legend in Your Own Mind.
