The Piercing Truth

This is right from the dictionary and seems to describe Albuquerque, Berry and Schultz. Fascism (f ash ,izem) noun An authoritarian right wing system of government and/or social organization. (in general use) extreme right wing, authoritarian, chauvinistic and/or intolerant views or practices. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one group over another, national, ethnic, especially social strata or monetarily; a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach. Breen Speaks the Truth While Berry’s Administration Continues to Lie

Our Eyes tell us AFD’s Chief Breen told fire personnel the truth concerning IAFF Local 244’s President Diego Arencon’s removal from handling union affairs on duty. Breen stated he thinks Berry's decision to remove Mr. Diego Arencón, the President of IAFF Local 244, from his 40 hour a week union business schedule is illegal. Breen stated he thinks the order itself is unlawful yet he carried out the order. The Eye can see within a week there will be a headline on the front page of the Journal saying "Fire Chief says Mayor's Order Illegal."

The Eye is not a doctor but we would recommend that Chief Breen take some Imodium to stop or at least slow down some of his issues.

And within a short time we'll see that the Mayor has retired Chief Breen and will be looking for a more obedient puppet to be his Fire Chief

I am not sure what Breen is trying to accomplish with his "meetings". Is he trying to save face with the field personel at the expense of city admin? Or is he setting up his own exit? I think his efforts are well intentioned but believe it is too little too late, and a last ditch effort to regain confidence before he takes his bow and walks off the stage. The threat of no confidence has been effective already though. It has brought the fire chief out his shell to talk to his people...as he should have done from the start. He is in a tough spot and has had to make some hard choices, but he never took a stand and never appeared to put up a fight. He has had many opportunities to pick a battle, but has instead made the choice to surrender.

Berry targets police and fire to union bust because "the city needs to save $$" but he pays Chris Ramirez Huffman $85,000 a year as press secretary. Then Berry pays Erinn Kennard Thompson (the 2 or 3 wife of city lobbyist JOe Thompson)$85,000 to be another press secretary.

Not enough press secretarys? Berry pays Journal reporter TJ Whilham another $85,000 to be a special projects manager press secretary. TJ was fired but had too much dirt on White and Shultz so TJ stayed.

Get dirt, get/keep job. Got it??

The citizens of this city have little support for police and fire unions. "paid leave" for criminals sticks in the craw of the peasants..........

The corruption in city hall is enough for us to swallow , but the whining and constant sniveling from the unions is perceived has the tears of spoiled children.............just saying you know maybe you folks should tone down the union rhetoric.

City councilors( Yes, you Republicans) what are you afraid of?
Berry, the 'Good Republican' mantra BS? This bogus investigation of Darren and peach wreck, will reveal nothing. They are already lying under oath and YOU are letting the Darren & Company machine slip through the cracks and loopholes of Justice. We need a REAL INDEPENDENT review of this incident as it pertains to his interference and leaving the scene with one who was obviously intoxicated. Drugs are the same as alcohol. Don't allow this to be WHITE washed, for the rush to assign Deaton (who is too close to Darren , Schultz, Perry and Berry) will lead to nothing more than another cover up. This I assure you can not be trusted, or relied upon to root out the truth. Perry rushed this assignment through as fast as he could, knowing damn well that this would result in one big misunderstanding and merely words just taken out on of context. Orders are orders, and I don't think anyone, Walck or Wooley misunderstood them. Surely not a misunderstanding. "Change the report" Hmmm. what does that mean? Dah !!

When are we having the no confidence vote on Breen? Is APOA going to do one on Schultz after all his bullshit?

Anonymous said...

Yes; Brad, Dan, Don, Michael, do the right thing.
Republican bias be damned.

There seems to be no end to all of this wrong doing. You'd think that with all the heat, our city employees would at least cool it for a while an fly right. Nooooo..., can't do that. We just keep on truckin with their dirty deeds as if it were their right. Be honorable, be moral, be ethical, be honest.
Can you just do that one week out of the year?

Anonymous said...

The no confidence vote is today, tomorrow and Thursday at the hall.

Anonymous said...

"Obstruction of justice"

Surely you don't expect the Deaton investigation to uncover that do you?
The citizens deserve better than this Berry,Perry charade.
Deaton will accept any statement Beth or Wooley hands him, and it won't reveal a thing.
Why?
Because lies will be accepted and it will all just be rubber stamped and just more of the same water under the bridge.
What a joke; what a travesty.
An outside Investigation is needed to uncover the truth and the facts in this case. All we will get in the end from this is,
"You can't handle the truth" !!!

I don't know so this is a serious question: what effect does a no confidence vote have? Does it mean that the Chiefs will lose their jobs or will it effect them getting a Chief job in another town?

Police and Fire aren't the only ones getting screwed by Berry (again)!City employees covered under a bargaining unit still haven't gotten their 1% raise. But non-union ppl got a raise. He's holding our raises hostage unless and until the Unions start giving other stuff up--he still wants furlough days, and he wants us to give up birthdays!!! FMBFMBFMBFMB--FOREVER!

The FMB website says they have started the process for a recall of Mayor Berry!

Last minute sucking up won't work Breen. You don't stand up for your people. The latest example being what you did and did not do for the personnel on the scene of Peaches accident.

Vote NO CONFIDENCE

Breen is not a fence walker. As he would like you to think. He has already proven what side of the fence he is on. Dont feel sorry for him he is a grown man who has made his decisions long ago. Everyone is of afraid of who we will get next. Fear is the lengthened shadow of ignorance. ~Arnold Glasow He who fears something gives it power over him. ~Moorish Proverb Do not fear, stand up for what is right! Stand up for justice! Stand with your union brothers and sisters who have taken the lead and who have the courage to face Berry and his agenda. Protect your Bargaining rights you have a duty to those who established them for you.
NO CONFIDENCE FOR BREEN OR BERRY!!!

Mayor Berry, also want to limit our sick and vacation time. He want to limit out sell back option too. Perry and Berry want a 3 for 1 cash out, and no more than 500 hours. If they say anything diffrent they r not tell the truth. As for Breen, you sold your soul, and it can't be bought back! Have you "hung out with Darren latly". LOL LOL LOL!

Everyone in our department has been complaining and bitching for a year and half about Breen. Then Breen has a few meetings and cries about how nothing is his fault, how he is with us and what a great guy his is and you guys go soft. He is such a nice guy. Who gives a shit if he is a nice guy. My grandmother is a nice lady but she shouldn't be the fire chief. Please!

there's a lot of misunderstanding about "no confidence" vote. It basically means that the rank and file UNION members don't have confidence in the fire chief to lead them. It could hurt him for future job opportunities, but Berry probably likes it because he could care less about the rank & file anyway. So Breen won't lose his job & if he wants to go to another place a city manager may see it as a positive. There's almost always been division between admin & field (union) personnel. So whether a union member supports or doesn't support the no confidence, Breen is not going to suffer, but the field people still will for the lack of communications. And if the sick/vacation sell back go away, Breen will retire because it will affect him. It's really all about the money for him.

"Stand up for justice! Stand with your union brothers and sisters who have taken the lead..."

And who have you or did you stand up for when Chavez/Ortega were in power?

Tell us, who?

When employees where being shown the door (without due process), or skipped on promotional lists, employees suffering through work place intimidation, discrimination to name a few things. Who did you stand up for in the name of "what's right" or "justice."?

Quiz time:

Mayor Chavez/Fire Chief Robert Ortega terminated, how many firefighters under their leadership regardless of due process or just cause?

Mayor Berry/Fire Chief Breen have terminated how many firefighters under their leadership regardless of due process or just cause?

I get it, Mayor Chavez and Robert Ortega were fuzzy feel good guys and cared about things such as "what was right" or "due process"!

Mayor Berry, and Breen are cold, heartless, bastards who don't care about the employees or their due process or just cause reasons. Maybe that would explain the rash of recent terminations under their administration....?????

Gotta' love the "Brothers and Sisters love fest" rhetoric.

When it's a Democrat kicking you in the nuts it's o.k., as long as he whispers empty promises in your ear (contract) and gives you a reach around afterwards then all is well, but when it's a Republican doing the same thing except he doesn't promise to sleep with you afterwards then and only then do you wanna get all high and mighty.

I got a piece of advice for you. Try this on for size,

"If you don't like getting smacked around by the elected official your Union DID NOT endorse, then don't get involved with election endorsements"-Common Sense

FACT:
Your Union lost more in general contract language, bargaining rights, and over all employees in the history of your department combined under Chavez(12 yrs/Ortega (8yrs).

Where was Ortega vote of "No confidence"?

Where was the outrage over the Chavez administration bully tactics he employed for 12 years under his term? Where was the outrage over the DV cover up of Mayor Chavez, or his DUI cover up?

Save it. A few recieved professional gain over those "crimes" and you moral high ground individuals said and did nothing about that. You never had a "no confidence vote", you never took to blog sites or set up websites, your voice was never heard with such outrage, you never made cute slogans (FMB), you didn't make bumper stickers, and shirts.

Democrats+Crime+Cover ups= Promotions for a few and sweet contracts for all.

That's called being a hypocrit a two faced back stabbing bullshit con artist to yourself as a person to your supposed fellow "brothers/sisters", and your profession.

GET OVER IT, the movidas, the familia/hey Bro hook-ups and sweet heart deals for a few of you are over. It's time for a new group to reap the rewards for once.

Thanks for the explanation. But it's sad that it's all about the money to him. I've always respected the work of AFD and APD. I've always looked at their work as a calling and been grateful.

Oh Really?????

So let me get this right.

1 You did nothing when you had had the chance to stand up, back in the day. But are quick to criticize the younger guys who do? (most of the union was new to the dept. or not even in yet.

Hum!!!!! Sounds like a coward.

2 You Think if a union indorses a candadite, the opposing candadite has the right to retaliate against them once he takes office???. Not only has he retaliated , he has broken the law, (court orders).

Is this what you do when some one doesnt agree with you??

3 You want to be one of the ones to "reap the rewards". So.... you want to be one of Berrys 'Familia"

Really???

At what cost might I ask? everones collective bargining rights.

Fact : The union has done more to protect its members and the public than you will ever know. Maybe if you went to a meeting once then you wouldnt be so quict to judge. Educate yourself go the web site . be involved. But im quessing your not intrested, since your looking to "reap the rewards"

Open your eyes "lottery winner"

And to : "Amen! I couldn't say it better myself!"

Go buy yourself a truck. or boat or something. it will make you feel better. Then you wont be so jelous of everyone who has one.

Forever my brothers!!!

Let me addresse your 3 items of contention;

1.) First and foremost, you have no idea who I am or what I've done in the name of Local 244. I assure I've been to far more meetings than you and have done fare more than you in the name of Local 244. To the second part of your brilliant statement you hide behind the fact that you or other members in your words "(most of the union was new to the dept. or not even in yet." Ummm... NEWS FLASH tough guy, we are all grown men/women. To reduce your arguement to "I'm just a new guy" is insulting to me it should be to you too. Put your big boy/girl pants on regardless of time on the job and "stand up for justice" regardless of time on the job. I can't speak to your ignorant statement of "or not even in yet." What do you think those who came before you were and are doing? Fighting for the next generation of firefighters who were not even in yet. We've all seen them they look something like the following; shaved arms/legs, tattood from earlobe to toes, gym rats, 21 yr. old pretty boys, drive big oversized trucks, related to 2-4 other members of the department, does this sound familiar?

2.)My answer to your second arguement simply is, YES!

Ask a certain Battalion Commander about supporting Bob Schultz against Mayor Martin Chavez and how that has worked out for him.

I have a few others, I could mention but you're probably weren't in the department yet, or perhaps you have to go shave your arms, or legs soon, get a new tattoo. So I will keep it to 1 for time sake.

3.) You're damn right! I will reap whatever rewards comes my way by being in support of Breen or Mayor Berry. I as well as others have watched for the last 14+ years have watched a number of others trample over and on their supposed "union brothers/sisters" by get gift promotions, assignments, over more deserving employees. The Union then and now still decides to fight battles that are only in the best interest of a few NOT for the whole.

I'm done with you, new guy. Enjoy your 4 man pumper staffing/3 man ladder staffing, 20 year retirement, higher wages, safer work conditions(2 in/2out, 48 hour shift schedule, safer and newer equipment (SCBAs,pumpers/ladders/rescues). I don't have time to name them all.

Laters "Bro" I gotta go buy a new razor somebody keeps stealing mine at the station.

Take your own advice and educate yourself. Indorses? Candadite? It's no fun jousting with mental midgets!

That certain Battalion Commander who supported Bob Schultz who had most of his FMO staff help out on a petition drive for public signatures and ended up losing his chance for Fire Chief sure didn't affect him at all. He ended up on the West side (3 mins from his home) and supposedly responds from his home on calls. What happen to the HIGH $$$$ Fleet Focus GPS system the department had installed on all emergency units in which all the chiefs (at Fire Admin) have access to that system? I hear that system can give you a history of each vehicle from being on, idle time, MPH driven and can track where it's been driven and time parked at any given place. Breen knows who he is. This BC needs to retire!

Lottery Winner, of course we don't know who you are or what you have done for 244. You don't have the balls to put your name on your postings. Maybe you should do that if you want to use some's lack of knowledge of your get deeds in your anonymous debating points. Just saying.
